  3. Ultimo Guerrero Special (7:35)

Winner: Ultimo Guerrero
Match Time: 12:05
Rating: good
Notes: Lyger's attacked UG on the ramp. Whistle blows withotu them getting to the ring. Ref is Pompin. Lights are still down, but you can see much farther into the crowd than Tuesday. Maybe back to row ten. May just be different cameras.

1: Lyger suplexes Guerrero and poses. Guerrero gets up to chop fight, but is dragged to the ring. Lyger tosses him in, and tosses him face first into the ropes. Is Lyger back to being a rudo? Lyger rips off Guerrero's kilt and chokes him with it, so it sure seems that way. Lyger throws UG out. Shot to the chest, Lyger tries to throw Guerrero into the announce desk, but Guerrero stops him, bites at Lyger's arm, and Lyger turns and throws him into the post instead. Huh. UG back in, Lyger snap mare, and he goes for the mask. Eyehole yanked, UG a bit obviously pulling it down to rip it more. Lyger chops Guerrero. Corner whip, Lyger clothesline. Lyger drags UG into position, goes up, top rope splash meets knees. Guerrero small package one two three.

2: Lyger still up first, and giving Ultimo a big back drop. Lyger chops Guerrero into the corner. Lyger snap mares Guerrero, and scrapes the boots. Reaction is scattered and not particularly loud. Seated abdominal stretch still allows Lyger to pull at the mask. Back up quickly. Chop, corner whip, charge in, flipped the apron, chopped there. Guerrero runs, then stomps when Lyger is still laying on the apron, opting to stomp instead of whatever he was going to do. Snap mare, and Guerrero's turned to rip up the mask. Pompin tries to pull him off, but that' snot really going to work. Guerrero eventually shoves him back. Not enough to get a DQ. Lyger clotheslines UG. UG bumps big for all of Lyger’s moves. Brainbuster, one two three.

3: Lyger going for Guerrero's mask. Kneelifts to the head. UG sneaks in a takedown, and climbs on top of Lyger to punch, but Pompin pulls him off. No closed fists! Lyger axhandles Guerrero from behind, and waves no to the ref. Axhandle isn't a closed first, he's good. Stomps, and chokes. Chops. Corner whip, Lyger charges in, no one home, UG clotheslines Lyger in the corner. Senton de la muerte connects. Crowd now into it. Guerrero fired up, but remembering to go back and cover. One count, and Lyger has the bottom rope. Guerrero won't let go of his pin. He's very baffled about letting go. Guerrero drops to his knees for no reason, though it does let Lyger try to kick him. Guerrero catches the leg on the third one, and drops Lyger with a big powerbomb. One two NO. Pompin checks on both men. Lyger loads up the shotay, Guerrero ducks, quebradora con giro. Dropkick sends Lyger out. Ultimo Guerrero plancha time. It catches Lyger high, hitting him in the upper back and shoulder and not really being caught. Guerrero in first and celebrating, but Lyger kicks him from behind. Hey, it's the cavernaria spot. I just saw this about an hour and a half ago. It doesn't work this time either. Lyger has had the mouth and sides ripped off the mask. Replay of the kick, just to show it wasn't a foul. It was not. Now you know. Lyger chops Guerrero in the corner, and argues with the ref. Double chop! Guerrero's surely in trouble know. Corner whip, Guerrero climbs to the second rope and dares Lyger to come up. Lyger at least chops him before going up, but still take the double chop to the midsection. Front superplex, one two NO. Lyger slow up, and looking very wacky with his mask ripped up like that Guerrero debates the three count with Pompin and the crowd. He does seem to have found someone who agrees with him, somewhere out in the darkness. Guerrero charges Lyger, Lyger flips him to the apron, UG chops him, climbs and Lyger hits him back. Both up top, top rope superplex. One two NO. That was a slow count! Guerrero fired up, but hurt. Replay show it was a very close count. Back live, Lyger is going for a top rope 'rana, UG blocks it, but Lyger unblocks it and pulls it off. Ultimo Guerrero flips in the air. Lyger covers, one two NO. Lyger says this is it, to three side of the ring. Guerrero chant started. Lyger going up for a moonsault, UG crotches him, up behind, Guerrero Special. One two three.

Ultimo Guerrero claps his hands to the music. Hooray.

CMLL Cartela: Tuesday @ Arena Mexico – Atlantis, Rush, Angel de Oro vs Mr. Aguila, Dragon Rojo Jr., Volador Jr.

Match 2: Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla © vs La Máscara, La Sombra ©, Rush
Arena Mexico, 12/09/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:25
Rating: okay
Notes: Máximo is shown coming to the ring with Rush, but it's not explained. Mr. Niebla dances with the edecanes. He and Zacarias are both in homeless Santa outfits. Niebla has gigantic fake beard. Ref is Rodolfo. Mephisto's right shoulder is taped up.

1: Pair start Averno/Rush. They're dong something odd with the sound track, because the whistle blows repeatedly about a minute into the match, and not one notices it. Chants also start and then abruptly stop. Niebla cheap shots Rush with a slap to the back of the head while he has Averno in a surfboard. Rush recovers for a few seconds, then wants to Rush Niebla, but Averno and Mephisto block his path. Lots of staring, then the rudos decide to attack anyway. Big set up to Máscara being rammed back first into the post. Averno and Mephisto care of Sombra with a big powerbomb and pose on top for him for the pin. Zacarias celebrates with the rudos. There's that whistle again.

2: Rudos still in control, untying Mascara and Sombra's masks. Sombra gets the rebound hiptoss. Mascara kicks Averno before the rudos put a stop to him. Triple boot for the rudos. Avernos pose, Niebla dances, and Sombra springboard dropkicks him. That sees unfair. Mascara headscissors Averno, Sombra gets Mephisto. Técnicos run – topes and tope con giro. Rush and Niebla in, Niebla off the ropes, clothesline caught, and lifted for the fireman's carry bomb. Senton, kneeling on top pin, tied.

3: Técnicos brawl with the rudos outside. Mascara uses Metro's giant armdrag on Mephisto and sends him out after a flying armdrag. Zacarias in and swinging, but Máscara throws him aside. How rude. Something is clipped out with Zacarias, and Rush is suddenly throwing Mephisto around. Averno and Rush ha the crowd cheering one of those men strongly, and it's not the técnicos. Averno slaps Rush in the face and screams at him. Rush dropkick him. Averno tries to get out, rush holds him in, off the rope evasion leads to Rush's wheel kick after a whole lot of Rush's misses. Niebla surprises Rush with a slap. Chops, but Rush won’t go for a whip. It turns into a big chop fight, Niebla jabbing his way to a win. Rush stop short on a whip, slaps Niebla out, and superkicks him out. Rush mocks the Niebla chant and poses. Sombra and Averno in, but Mephisto sneaks in a kick at the first opportunity. Averno slaps his partner by mistake at he first opportunity. Sombra’s monkey flipped into a headscissors on Mephisto and gets Averno with a rebound headscissors, landing on his feet the whole way. Niebla clotheslines him down – Niebla dance, so we must be close to ending this. Spit is – caught, barely. Wind took it there. Niebla turns around, right into the springboard dropkick. Sombra teases a dive, but it's Rush right behind him with the tope con giro. All four end up in, Máscara headscissors Averno en-route to the casadora, and Sombra getting Mephisto with the springboard flip ‘rana. That’s it.

Sombra never got around to taking off his shirt, so he does it here. Whistle comes in again after the next week promo.
