Announcers are Bucanero, JCR, and Amapola. When Rivera mentions Amapola is no longer women's champion, she just shrugs. Bucanero's body language thru this standup is also very interesting. Or he's been told to stare directly at the camera when she's talking, just to seem as disinterested as possible. For bonus points, JCR mentions Garza is heavyweight champion. Oh, dated TV. I think I'm more entertained by this than I will be the main event.
Match 1: Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado vs Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 10/18/2011
rudos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:26
Rating: OK
Notes: Okumura has his belt. El Raccoon Yoshihashi has his hood pulled down so far that he almost trips on the way to the ring. Guerrero Maya has a very Guerrero Maya robe. It even says his name on the back. Pato Soria is in the ring before the match, disappears when it starts. Refs are Loco and Edgar.
1: Pairs are Maya/Pólvora, Diamante/Yoshihashi, Sagrado/Okumura. Maya and Pólvora don't do much interesting, and it's the usual speed up from there. Okumura gets in one headscissors before the rudos are into attack and cut him off from his dive. Sagrado quickly turns the tide on a corner whip, Pólvora and Yoshihashi being flipped and tripped up. Sagrado 'rana is reversed by Okumura, and he gets the pin.
2: Picked up with Pólvora dropping Diamante and the rudos starting the beatdown only then. Bucanero is a fan of Yoshihashi's flipping inverted DDT. Amapola thinks Guerrero Maya should switch to the rudo side. No! Sagrado starts the comeback off a corner whip again, and I'm writing this before it happens. Diamante flying armdrag sends out Okumura, Pólvora dropkicks Diamante, Maya quebradora con giro for Pólvora, Sagrado topes Okumura, and other técnicos wrap it up. The Cerebro Driver is complex, but less so than it takes for Diamante set up his move – Pólvora flips him to the apron, stands on the bottom rope so he's tall enough, Diamante then swing kicks him and finally hits the 450 splash. Splash looks good though. JCR should really decide which move he wants to call the Sacrifica Maya and stick to it.
3: Rudos stall. Diamante has nice bouncing tornillo armdrag on Pólvora, and chases him out for a quebradora con giro. Maya is a fair bit more smooth than Yoshihashi. Springboard armdrag sends the rudo out, and he covers up to avoid the dive. Okumura and Sagrado have a chop fight, Okumura puts up the stop sign and then just superkicks him. That is a great plan. Casadora cradle, one two NO. Casita, shoves off, back, and Okumura drops him with the inverted DDT. Maya breaks up the pin. Pólvora in and swing, but missing. Maya gets around him, makes a sort of martial arts pose, and time stands still. Pólvora unfreezes to try a clothesline, misses, and Maya drops him with a quebradora con giro. Maya waves in Yoshihashi, who also takes one. Diamante rushes into hit someone, but there's no one to him. Rudos get back control and chop the técnicos in the corners. Técnicos whipped to each other, move, and Pólvora dropkicks Yoshihashi out. Técnicos kick Pólvora out, then run – Diamante tope con giro, May holds up and does a pescado. Sagrado slams Okumura, up top, springboard moonsault, one two three.
Announcers are pretty sure Sagrado wants a title match with Okumura here.
Match 2: Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, Toscano vs Mr. Águila, Terrible, Texano ©
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 10/18/2011
técnicos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:34
Rating: eh
Notes: In ring captains are shown this week. I dunno why. Turnout actually seems very good considering what's said about turnout here, but it depends on the angle they're showing. Refs are Edgar and Samurai. Toscano is wearing a black armband with “PAPA” written on it.
1: Pairs are Aguila/Toscano and Texano/Fantasma. Fantasma is into spinning around in his quick reversal bit. He spins and reaches to tag to hector at one point, but Hector does not accept the tag or the high five, or whatever it was supposed to be. Texano walks Fantasma back to his corner, and they go thru in a few spots to set up a Garza springboard plancha. Garza strips, and plays ole with Aguila and his shirt. Garza loud kicks Terrible in the face, and lands the superman plancha on the outside. Técnicos get cradles to win the fall.
2: Técnico showcases for Fantasma and Toscano, though the first turns into Texano and Terrible doing the fake split and the latter is Toscano stripping. Rudos attack Garza before he gets going.
3: Beatdown for a couple minutes, Garza backflipping over the rudos and luring them into a clothesline on Aguila to start the comeback. Aguila gets Terrible with a flying armdrag, Fantasma lands the Phantom attack on Texano to gently send him out, and Toscano follows with his own tope. Aguila waits for someone to get up, and Diamante just stands right next to him as he does a slow tope con giro. Fantasma rolling into a pescado on that. Terrible does a fake run to the ropes, then holds up, sling to the apron, and is pulled off the apron. Probably for his own safety. Garza goes to the outside of the middle rope, gives the crowd a “up yours gesture” (!?!) and his moonsault on the pile. One more up yours to the same part of the crowd, wow. Replays of the dives, as the crowd screams about something. Aguila and Garza in, tights pull tease spot, Garza puts on a time killing hold, Terrible sends Fantasma into him to break it up, then tosses Fantasma to Terrible. Texano lifts Toscano up, and they both hit their moves. Aguila does something to Garza just off camera, and that's it.
