Match 1: Aereo & Pequeño Halcón vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
Arena Mexico, 11/08/2011

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:27
Rating: bleh
Notes: Ref is Terror Chino.

1: Pairs are Universo/Halcon (who don’t' say in long) and Astral/Mercurio (who do). The last pair look smooth. Aereo transitions right in to a hold without needed to tag Halcón once; he planchas Universo to set up his own pinfall.

2: Técnicos control the first minute, but the rudos pull a fake handshake/attack from behind bit. Cameras don't see it coming, and it takes me three viewings to pick up it even happening. Aereo is taken to the ramp to be tossed into a superkick; I guess they needed the extra room? Pequeño Halcón is monkey flipped into a superkick, because Mercurio just has one move on his mind. Técnicos are whipped into each other for the double submission.

3: Superkick #3! Double press slam bit on Aereo looks ill-timed. Halcón lifts up over a Pequeño Universo corner charge to start the comeback, rudos bumble a bit, Everyone does a bit of standing around before going for their spots. More individual técnico showcase before going to dives – Aereo plancha on Universo, Mercurio Asai tornillo on Aereo, Pequeño Halcón slingshot tope con giro. Mercurio's dive looks the best, by far. They come back in for eliminations; Pequeño Halcón and Universo blow whatever tricky submission Halcón wants, so he just sits on top and puts on an armbar. Mercurio escape's Pequeño Halcón tapatía and finishes him for the win.

Match 2: Molotov, Starman, Tigre Blanco vs Bronco, Hooligan, Inquisidor

Match Time: 13:00

Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano. How is Bronco old enough to get in this match?

1: pairs are Inquisidor/Tigre Blanco, Hooligan/Starman, Molotov/Bronco. None of them last long, and the rudos launch into the beatdown right after the last. Hooligan and Inquisidor line up the other two, and root Bronco on for his top rope splash. Announcers are purposefully Trolling with the “STAAAAAAAAAAAAARMAN” bit now, and also declare the splash is the “Broncina”. I don't know that I'll be using that one.

2: Beatdown. Hooligan gets in the Tuareg required low blow move. Rudos keep going thru all the shoutouts. Bronco goes up for another top rope splash on Tigre Blanco, but Tigre moves. Other rudos are not paying attention easily cleared out. Molotov topes Bronco, Hooligan and Inquisidor quickly take over, técnicos pull of a nice double team – Starman monkey flips Tigre into a sunset flip on Inquisidor - and wrap up the fall.

3: técnico showcases. Inquisidor takes quebradora con giro from Blanco, and spins around on the mat after, which may be the greatest thing he's done. Hooligan takes rebound armdrags in all around, until he's sliding out and into a front row seat. Bronco runs around the corner to avoid another Molotov dive, and so Tigre Blanco jumps off the apron to get him instead. Inquisidor gives Molotov a poor spinebuster (or a worse powerbomb) and finishes him, while Hooligan does the same to Starman.

Match 3: Ángel Azteca Jr., Mr. Cacao, Pegasso vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:01
Rating: eh
Notes: Ref is Terror Chino.

1: Opening is a bit of Angel Azteca putting holds on Loco Max, the other two Tuareg members breaking them up, and Mr. Cacao being angry. Rudos outright Rush the técnicos the third time. Tuareg low blow #1. Loco Max yanks the eyehole of Mr. Cacao's nice mask. Tuareg low blow #2. Pegasso survives the low blow dropkick when Arkangel push them off so he can keep going. Tuareg low blow #3! That one was kick to the turnbuckle, which the crowd very much wanted a DQ for. Rudos have no particular interest in ending this fall. For quite a while. Arkangel goes to the apron for no reason, and Pegasso uses this to make a comeback again the other two guys. Hooligan and Loco are led into an Angel Azteca springboard dropkick, the lesser técnicos go for Asais, and the rudos pull them off. Captains left in, Mr. Cacao lands the jumping leg lariat, an enziguri, and a modified leg casita to get the win himself. Arkangel sold big for those kicks.

Announcers think the guy in this match is Sangre Azteca. Fine work.

2: Técnico showcase fall. Pegasso looks really good with the lesser Tuareg. Serious Arkangel swats around Cacao, and Cacao makes the standard técnico comeback minus a dive. I'm sure that's coming. Pegasso comes back in, get baited out by Loco Max, and Loco drops him with a pescado. Angel Azteca ducks a Skándalo clothesline and tries a tope into an armdrag on Loco, but Loco only thinks a tope is coming. That does not go well. Other rudos bumble, and Cacao cradles Skándalo for three.

Arkangel fights back himself, Cacao smashes him into the turnbuckle, lands a plancha, and Arkangel rolls thru for – two. Rope Running spot seems like they get lost and Arkangel resets those the whole thing. Running topes, a leg lariat that's not as good as the first time – tiring? Cacao covers, and Skándalo runs back into break it up for the DQ. Rudos rip up Cacao's mask. Técnicos eventually turn turn back them off, but then Arkangel beats them both off himself.

Lot of pointing and yelling after. The técnicos back the rudos up the ramp when another brawl breaks up between Cacao and Arkangel. Cacao eventually pulls Arkangel's mask and walks off with it.

Match 4: Delta, Hijo del Fantasma, Toscano vs El Alebrije, Olímpico, Psicosis

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:15
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Delta/Psicosis, Toscano/Alebrije, Fantasma/Olímpico. Highlight of the middle exchange is Toscano chopping Alebrije in the corner, Alebrije turning it around, Toscano putting up the double stop sign and stepping to the apron. Alebrije is not amused and pulls him back in for his chops. Announcers are now so bored as to repeat their previous shoutouts. After Olímpico is shed, Cuije comes in and dropkicks Fantasma questionably low. Two on one beatdown does not last, and Alebrije kicks his friend as slowly as possible. Alebrije tripped into splashing Cuije too. Poor Cuije. Rudos all end up missing moves on the técnicos, lining up together like Super Porky likes to splash, but no Porky. All they've got is Delta with a springboard splash, and that doesn't quite have the same impact. Técnicos all get cradles fro three right after anyway.

2: Old friends Toscano and Olímpico practice their posing for the bodybuilding contest. I'm glad someone is getting something out of this match. Delta get in his roll over the top rope headscissors on Alebrije, who then claimed to be fouled. It's really a problem for the Invasors when Psicosis is the only sane guy on his crew. Fantasma takes out all three due to some bumbling, and the masked due tope the técnicos. This isn't going two, so Toscano accidentally leads himself into a giant Alebrije spinebuster, and Alebrije submits him for the win.

3: Rudos are in some mood, because Psicosis beats Delta to the stage, and walks him up the stairs. Throw him off! Olímpico shows of an Electroshock-level cutter that's mostly obscured by the commentator graphic. Still the same guys as the begging of the show; Juan Maldad has joined the announcers for this match but he doesn't get his name listed. Psicosis does try to throw Delta off the stage, but he hangs on rolls down the stairs instead. Olímpico springboards a long way for a senton con giro. Cuije gets in the low blow headbutt on Toscano. Swinging gate bomb on Delta. Toscano side steps a corner charge to start the comeback, but still misses his dropkick on Alebrije, and Alebrije dropkick him. Everyone on the rudo side kind of wanders around. Delta seems to come in late with a missile dropkick, but it doesn't matter since Psicosis is powerbombing him away. Olímpico cradles Fantasma too, and that's it. That ended easy.

Match 5: Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Rush vs Averno, Terrible, Texano

Match Time: 15:37
Rating: eh
Notes: I would actually buy a Rush Toro Blanco t-shirt. And then just send it to Dr. Lucha, but still. HEY, Hector Garza. Rudos rush out to attack la Mascara from behind because they're sick of his music. Or is that me? Who can say. I probably can say, but I'm too busy watching Rush rush the ropes to get Texano, only to fall down before Texano touches him. RUSH! Ref is Tigre Hispano and not particularly helpful.

1: Brawling beatdown. Averno goes for La Mascara's mask. Couple months late on that, friend. Laredo is sent hard into the announcers. Garza is choked via kissing by the returning Comadante, who gets free and goes after her. Her friends are a bit slow to realize, but Terrible makes the save. Terrible places his shirt over Rush's head before finishing him with the legdrop. Tigre Hispano gets sandwiched in the ropes when Terrible goes after Garza. Terrible and Texano are completely lost as to what do as a second finisher here, and Averno just wants to use the Devil's Wing on the other ay, so they settle with a spinebuster by Terrible and Averno hooking the legs for a pin.

2: After a couple more minutes of beatdown, double T put their heads too soon on a La Mascara whip (with a little help from Garza slowing him down ), and mascara kicks them both down. Headscissors sends Averno out, and it's time for La Mascara to tope him into the second row. Other técnicos wrap things up.

3: Rush and Texano have their own pose off. This is such a month. Showcases go Rush, Garza, Mascara. Averno is very good at losing track of Rush. There is no special build for Terrible and Rush, though the announcers are reading ad copy about those two facing off on Sunday. After the usual Garza stripping, Terrible tosses him out, and struts. La Mascara has to fight his way thru the other two guys, who eventually help out by kicking each in the head, before he can finally get to Averno. Crowd, what there is of it, gets into the the idea of La Mascara vs Averno. It's a flashback to the glory days of, uh, about five months ago. Mascara waved by, flipping armdrag, corner charge, flipped to the apron, swing kick from there, flying headscissors, dropkick to the knee, casita, one two three. THAT was easy. Averno can't believe it.

At least one announcer thinks Averno is the captain. He is not, it is Texano. Maybe they should put up a graphic. Texano kicks out Mascara. Garza comes in and taunts Texano a bit, setting him to be kicked on the way back in. Terrible dropkicks out Garza, Rush missile dropkicks him and stomps him. Whip, Terrible grabs the ropes, Rush takes them both out with a clothesline. Máscara and Texano in, Terrible misses a clothesline, Máscara flipped to the apron but back with a forearm, Texano. Plancha, Texano rolls thru, Máscara up and casadora into a campana. Averno runs into grab Mascara's mask – takes a couple tries, but he gets it. That's the DQ.

Averno rants to La Mascara's mask (he's using his shirt to cover his face) about how he and the Avernos are better. It doesn't matter if the people know, because they're just savages. Rush wont' stand for that. Averno has to flee. Mascara, with his shirt rolled up over his had, says he wasn't lucky when he beat Averno, he was better, and wants a mask vs hair one fall match. Tigre Hispano takes the mask away from Averno and tosses it back to La Mascara. Mascara wants the title match, and the hair/mask match.
