Announcers are – well, JCR and Rey Bucanero for the moment, because they're keeping Bucanero and Felino apart before the upcoming cage match. Seems like Bucanero will do the first couple matches.
Match 1: Estrellita & Goya Kong vs Amapola & Princesa Sugheit
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 09/06/2011
rudas
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:23
Rating: bleh
Notes: Crowd can be described as sparse. Estrellita demands Amapola back off before she gets in. Ref is Samurai.
1: JCR talks about Amapola defending her title in Japan vs Ayumi. Pairs are Estrellita/Amapola – well, Estrellita dances to show Amapola up after an armdrag, then invites Goya in so they both can dance. Sugheit will not put up which that, running over to kick them both in the backside. Amapola boots Estrellita, who rolls to the ropes, stop, looks up, then continues to roll out. Rudos kick Goya in the backside in the meantime. Crowd roots for one more. Goya is corner whipped into Estrellita, taking them both out. Rudas do it again to the opposite corner. Rudas should probably just rap this up, and actually do. Amapola has designs on putting Goya in some complicated hold, I think, but just ends up with an armbar.
2: Rudas still in control. Rudas get a near fall on a gentle double boot to Goya, but call off Samurai before he tries to get to three. Técnicas get the comeback when Goya runs thru a double clothesline and Estrellita lands on one of his own. Goya knocks down both rudas by just being Goya, and they wrap things out with their usual holds.
3: Obvious clip to start. Sugheit's decided to only kick in this match, and kicks Estrellita in the backside. Estrellita comes back with a springboard on Estrellita, and a headscissors on Amapola. Goya taunts Amapola for no reason and there's a lot of talking between all the women before anyone actually fights. It's much comedy when Goya does. Goya does the running the ropes forever spot with no setup, rolls to a stop, and gets kicks and slapped by both rudas. Técnicos lead to rudas bumbling – and then the show goes to break randomly. Great work. Looking at the web feed, it was the usual splash finish.
Match 2: Astral & Bam Bam vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 09/06/2011
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:52
Rating: good for the time
Notes: Ref is Loco.
1: Pierrothito is fast, and Astral just tries to keep up to the quick standoff. It's more even the second time thru. Pierrothito turns it to a chop fight, and backs off when it's not going his way. Demus quickly shoulder powerslams a very white Bam Bam, then headbutts him out to the apron. Rudos slap around Astral. Demus causes Bam Bam to flinch and cower without actually swinging at him, but we're distracted by Felino storming the announce booth. Giant swing/dropkick to the head on Bam Bam. Corner whip for Astral, he dodges, Demus hits the post on the way out, and Bam Bam follows with an Asai moonsault. Astral gets Pierrothito with a tornillo armdrag and a kneeling abdominal stretch. Super fast countout on Demus to end the fall.
2: Astral flips around, but Demus spears him and stomps him around in his mad fit. Pierrothito calms him down. Bucanero and Felino are swiping at each other; Bucanero says Felino turned on him, Felino says UG carried Bucanero to those tag team championships. Rudos start the beatdown. Doesn’t last long. Bam Bam pulls down the ropes on Demus, so he goes flying out. Astral is waved by Pierrothito, and does the front flip off the apron to the floor. Only Bam Bam is still standing there – Demus went around the corner – and Pierrothito is confused as to what that just happened. Astral spins around looking for someone to fight, can not fight anyone. Demus helpfully runs back over and slaps him. Pierrothito waits for Astral to get in position on the floor, and lands his plancha. So that was supposed to happen, in some way other than it happened, or Pierrothito is a great improviser. Bam Bam and Demus back in, Demus quickly gets la Valagueza. That's it.
3: That woman should've outfit does not quite fit her. Demus bites Bam Bam. He wants to chew on Pierrothito next, but Pierrothito is not down with that. Astral toss spot is supposed to set up the comeback, but Astral totally blows the dropkick. Pierrothito goes out anyway. Astral evasive run ends with a headscissors. Pierrothito kicks Astral down in the corner. Pierrothito is evasive himself, but ends up in a quebradora con giro. Bam Bam tagged in, and Demus spits right in his face to start. That's not nice. Demus knocks down Bam Bam with a shoulderblock and celebrates. But Bam Bam pulls him down by his hair. Oh, right, Bam Bam's hair is so short because he lost it, forgot. Bam Bam gets Demus with a run up the corner headscissors, and Deus crawls away up the ramp. Pierrothito wants a handshake, no. Flipping run is no t so great. Bam Bam headscissors, superkick, Pierrothito dramatically falls. Tiger Mask fake sends Pierrothito out, and Bam Bam follows with a strong tope. Astral's walk up the ropes bounce headscissors seems to get laughs on the setup. Astral follows out with a nice tope con giro, though almost turn over enough. Super obvious edit, and back in for Pierrothito to foul Bam Bam. That's the match.
Felino and Bucanero are yelling over each other now.
Back in the editing booth, JCR & Felino preview the main event.
Match 3: Black Warrior, Héctor Garza, La Sombra vs Hiroshi Tanahashi, Terrible, Texano
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 09/06/2011
técnicos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:17
Rating: eh
Notes: I think this is the last Tanahashi match, but who can say. Refs are Edgar & Samurai.
1: Black Warrior is goofing around on the apron to start. Meanwhile, Tanahashi and Sombra scrap to start. Nothing too complicated, though it feels like they're actually battling on the holds. It's amazing how every NJPW wrestler who comes to Mexico is hyped as the biggest star in Japan. Except Naito, maybe, but it doesn't matter there because Naito is beloved. Garza and Texano race to the stalemate. They're having a big standoff when Warrior comes in and starts dancing around. I don't know what's in him right now. Terrible comes into face him, and Warrior at first asks out before finally starting to lockup. It takes three tries before they can get anywhere. You've never seen a man more fired up to take an armdrag than Black Warrior tonight. Warrior slides out on Terrible and yanks Texano off the apron. Terrible slides out after Warrior, Warrior ducks down, and Terrible turns around to eat a Sombra tope. Garza gives Tanahashi a couple quebradora con giros – Tanahashi has looks out of control here, Warrior holds Tanahashi in the set up in the casita, then waits for Garza to catch up for him so they can get the double pins.
2: Warrior quickly spears Texano. Warrior dance, Terrible kicks him to stop that, start to do his dance, and Warrior is doing a hipswivel bit behind him at the same time. Warrior does the horn? dance after getting T to hit Other T. Tanahashi and Sombra in again. Sombra chops Tanahashi, and Tanahashi backs off to the corner. Tanahashi sets up, and slaps back. Tanahashi proud of himself. Sombra takes off his shirt, and tells Tanahashi to try again. He does, it's not loud, Sombra hits back, it's very loud. Don't get in a chest slap war with a luchador. Off the ropes avoidance is stopped by Tanahashi kick. Slap to the face, Tanahashi off the ropes, and Sombra jumps into a 'rana. Doble T fought off in the usual bumbling ways with Sombra getting a fancy spin in to a casadora armdrag on Texano.. Rope flip dive pose to cheers. Garza in to face Tanahashi. Tanahashi on him with chops. Whip, reverses, Tanahashi runs the rope very fast, Garza puts up the stop sign and Tanahashi almost falls over backwards. Tanahashi watches the thrown pants, and kicks Tanahashi I the side. Texano and Terrible in, double stop sign to them, shirt off - but Terrible and Texano attack him form behind. Double stomp down. Rudos challenge Sombra to come in, then order Samurai to keep him out. Three way slap war with Garza leads to Terrible and Texano almost having it off before resolving things with a hug. Garza quickly takes care of both of them, even though a Terrible tries to get a foul from a kick to the leg Garza shuts him up with a kick to the head. Felino will not shut up about Bucanero. Shouldn't we have had a beatdown by now? Garza kicks Texano, who slowly tumbles out of the ring, then something is clipped out with him and Tanahashi. Tanahashi recovers to throw Garza out. Other técnicos boot him. Sombra and Warrior both manage cradles, one two NO. técnicos go for cradles again, and rudos beat them with moves. Terrible starts has a chance to try the Terrible Clash, but opts not.
3: here's that beatdown. Brawling. Garza's slapped around for a bit. Then he's chopped around for a bit. This doesn't last long. Garza duck a double clothesline, boots Texano, ducks Terrible whatever, and punches him. Texano stomps him with a kick, Warrior snaps Texano’s neck over the top rope. Sombra - who must've pulled Tanahashi off the apron, comes back I in with a springboard plancha. Warrior and Sombra take turns splashing double T, then kick them out. Sombra tope con giro onto Texano, Warrior with the safer version from the apron on Terrible, but the way Terrible catches him, he might have landed on the back of his head. Garza and Tanahashi in, Tanahashi evades a clothesline, lands the Sling Blade, hurries up top, and lands the frog splash. Counter it, one two three.
