Announcers are JCR, JCC, and Amapola, who sounds either sick or medicated. This is the closest a luchadora came to being on the Anniversary show.
Match 1: Jushin Lyger, Metro, Sangre Azteca, Rey Escorpion, Dragon Rojo, Hijo del Signo vs Mephisto, Olímpico, Virus, Fuego, Mascara Dorada, Diamante in a semifinal cibernético of CMLL's Leyenda de Plata tournament
Arena Mexico, 09/30/2011
Fuego arm trap armbar Hijo del Signo (6:38)
Winner: Jushin Lyger
Match Time: 24:52
Rating: good
Notes: técnicos enter as a group, then the rudos do the same. Generic music plays. Oh no, a battle royal. NO. Highlight is Dorada & Mephisto yanking Olímpico off the apron after they've already been eliminated – do they want him on their team? It doesn't actually make sense why they'd care otherwise. The ref is in the ring, which also doesn’t make any sense. None of this makes any sense and I hate it. Rey Escorpion and Diamante go long (by long, I mean an extra 15 seconds in this 3 minute battle), so the six guys who aren't going out basically just stand around waiting for Diamante to get eliminated, then they all fight again hard because the deal is no one knows the rules. Giant somewhat blurry heads of everyone in the match. Sides are up there. Group A has to stop Sangre and Dragon Rojo from fighting. Ref is Terror Chino.
After a break, Metro and Olímpico start with a series of back and forth armdrags. Standoff, Olímpico rolls – right out of the ring. Well okay. Announcers get to bring up his mask loss one year ago anyway. Sangre and Diamante are next, announcers bringing up his trips to France as they exchange quick trips for zero. Rey Escorpion & Mephisto start slow, get fast, accomplish little. Lyger & Virus! Could be interesting, is another 30 second equal battle. Dragon Rojo & Fuego features Dragon Rojo kicking Fuego around, then mistiming an armdrag – Fuego was going to cartwheel and flip out of anyway. Back bend dance worked in, Fuego can safely be laminated. Springboard armdrag sends Dragon Rojo out, and Fuego nails him with a tope. Dorada and Signo in, exchanging shoves. Dorada avoids Signo's slaps until one knocks him down. Signo whips Dorada, which is just a bad idea, but manages to avoid the flips and land his own springboard plancha. Dueling armdrags, back to shoves, and out. Everyone's had a turn.
Metro and Diamante in. Or Metro and smaller Metro based on the looks. Diamante cartwheel chops onto Metro's shoulders, and turns off for a headscissors to send Metro to the apron. Diamante dives over Metro into a roll on the ramp, but Metro monkey flips him over the ropes and back in. Metro follows up, but gets caught in a triple jump tornillo armdrag. Metro out, Diamante after – top rope Asai tornillo to the floor. Other teams are not attacking people out on the floor. Sangre and Olímpico in, Olímpico gets Sangre with a casadora armdrag, Sangre tries to dump Olímpico over the top rope, Olímpico grabs the top rope and pulls himself in (though he loses his headscarf in the process.) Dropkick ends Sanger out the other way, and Olímpico follows with a slingshot tope con giro. Escorpion and Virus take their place, Virus with the running clip, dropkick to the head misses, Escorpion springboard dropkick looks good, sends Virus out. Dive? Tope con giro, nicely shot from overhead. Lyger and Mephisto chop, Mephisto getting the better of it. Kick sends Lyger to the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Lyger charges in, Mephisto grabs him and sits him on the top rope. Slap is kicked, Lyger headscissors, clothesline misses, Lyger quebradora works. Fuego running in-ring tope connects on Signo the first time, not the second. Signo spinebuster, front bridge cover, one Fuego reverses, one two no. Signo with a kick, lifts Fuego over his shoulders and rolls him off to the side for a slam, but still two and rolls off to the side but Signo is frustrated. Clothesline blocked, Fuego turns it into the reverse legsweep into the arm trap armbar - that's it for him
Dragon Rojo clothesline misses, Dorada shoulderblock connects, Dorada springboard – meets dropkick to the back. One two NO! Whip, reversed, Dragon Rojo grabs the ropes, Dorada flipped to the apron, slapping Dragon Rojo away. Dorada backs up runs – floating headscissors works, sending Dragon Rojo out. Dorada celebrates, then runs – huge tornillo! Diamante and Escorpion in, Escorpion flips off Escorpion’s shoulder (to his own knees), kick to the midsection, bodyscissors powerbomb, one two NO. Escorpion slams Diamante, off the rope, spinning elbow drop, standing moonsault one two NO. Standing moonsault looks better than his normal quebrada. Diamante off the ropes, 'rana, blocked, it down powerbomb one two three!
Sangre in, met by a Fuego slipping springboard plancha. Standing fireman's carry, one two no. Fuego, fired up, slaps Sangre into the corner. Reversed, Sangre misses the dropkick and flips in the corner. Sangre fireman's drops him, quebrada is a bit long, Fuego just goes for another -and gets knees. Sangre up and spinning happily. Sangre sets Fuego in the corner. Slap to the chest. Corner whip, Fuego up the ropes – plancha meets counter dropkick. One two three.
Olímpico and Lyger exchange quick pins. Olímpico avoids a dropkick and boots out Lyger, but Escorpion comes right in with a wheel kick. Fireman's drop in the center of the ring. Quebrada lands, one two Escorpion pulls Olímpico up. Uh oh. Escorpion powerbombs Olímpico, reaches down, and gets rolled up for three.
Metro and Virus just hitting each other. Virus kicks Metro down to one knee, pounds him in the head, and deliveries a running boot to the skull. Whip, reversed, Metro leaps over him, then tosses Virus in a belly to belly suplex. Virus flips Metro to the apron, Metro slaps him down, head up – flying armdrag sends Virus out. Both out, Dragon Rojo and Mephisto in and oddly reversing whips. Dragon Rojo manages a hiptoss, 'rana, is a better idea in theory than it is in exhaustion. Referee informs Dragon Rojo that he needs to sit up to actually get a cover - it's about that messed up. Casadora cradle – no, Mephisto gets free. Mephisto trios Dragon Rojo, flips him over, Dragon Rojo armdrag but doesn't go right. Tag someone! They do.
Sangre Aztec and Mascara Dorada slap, and then get totally lost trying to figure out what each other is doing. Very hesitant. This match ahs hit a bad stretch. Dorada quebradora con giro is a bit off. Dragon hangs Sangre in the ropes, tag to Virus, running dropkick to the face, one two NO. Virus whips Sangre to the corner, Metro backdrops him out, then lifts up Virus on his shoulder. Escuedo, done.
Olímpico and Mephisto both in and slapping down Metro. Battle of the strongmen here. Olímpico trips up Metro, and Mephisto kicks him in the face. Whip, clothesline misses, Metro clotheslines them both. Dragon Rojo in to help dropkick them out. High ten, both run, Dragon Rojo slingshot top con giro on Mephisto, Olímpico turns the corner and Lyger gets him with an apron tope con giro instead. Dorada in with a springboard dropkick on Dorada, and Sangre Azteca is left to come in. Sangre kick deflected, Dorada chops him hard. Whip, Sangre flips Dorada to the apron, Dorada inside springboard – into the dropkick! One two NO! Sangre can't believe that was only two. He's in trouble. Dorada is in the corner, and Sangre backs all the way up – low blow dropkick connects. Dorada's the one in trouble now. Sangre dragons Dorada out, one two NO. Sangre going to actually have to come up with a finish now. Sangre slaps Dorada in the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Dorada charges in, Sangre flips him to the apron, Dorada in – springboard flip torito one two three!
Down to Lyger, Metro, Dragon Rojo vs Mascara Dorada, Mephisto, and Olímpico. Olímpico knocks down Dragon Rojo repeatedly. 'rana , Dragon Rojo rolls thru one two three. Dragon Rojo very proud of himself for that one.
Mephisto slaps Metro. Whip, reversed, Mephisto clothesline misses, Metro takes him over with the giant armdrag. Metro picks up Mephisto by his mask. Corner whip, charge, Mephisto weakly kicks Mephisto down, sunset flip, Metro reverses, Dorada tries to springboard in and kick him but Metro steps back and kicks him down. Dorada dropped in the corner, Metro flattens him with the rolling senton. Corner whip, reversed, Dorada charge in, Metro flips Dorada to the apron, and Lyger must've just tripped him up because down Dorada goes. Metro misses the corner, charge, Dorada waistlock, Mephisto fights it but no – German suplex. One two NO Metro can't hold to the bridge! Evident clip here. Metro up top, splash misses, Mephisto rolling away. Mephisto covers one two NO. Corner whip, Metro to the middle rope, challenging Mephisto to join him. Mephisto slaps him one good, then just pulls Metro off – valagueza! This was a horrible plan by Metro! One two three.
Dragon Rojo & Lyger vs Mephisto & Mascara Dorada is logical enough final four. Dorada drops Lyger with a springboard plancha for two. Corner whip, reversed, Lyger charge in, no one home, Dorada spinning along the middle ropes and landing a missile dropkick one two no. Dorada fired up. Lyger dropped in front of the corner. Dorada pointing and climbs up. Top rope tornillo, pool is empty. Running Lyger bomb one two three.
Mephisto last one left for his side, Dragon Rojo to opposite. Corner whip by Dragon, charge in, Mephisto lifts his left over, corner sunset flip, Dragon Rojo reverses and grabs the middle ropes, one two NO. Referee never notices the ropes, which seems to be a problem. Corner whip, Mephisto up to the middle rope, and daring Dragon Rojo to get up. Dragon Rojo rush in with a big elbow to the midsection, but Mephisto jabs him to the midsection three times. Hooking both arms, then repositioning Dragon Rojo’s arms. Middle Rope Devil's Wings. One two three.
Lyger vs Dragon Rojo for the final spot. Lyger chops Mephisto and sends him cross ring, but Mephisto flips Lyger to the apron. Lyger fights back and climbs up, but Mephisto slaps him. Up tot he middle rope. Lyger hooks Lyger's head, points to the crowd, and carefully climbs to the to the rope. Slam, and Mephisto is going up. Crowd not liking this idea. Mephisto taking a lot of time. A lot of time. Senton con giro misses. Lyger says that's it. Brainbuster. One two three. Lots of boos before the three count, then cheers after
Match 2: Héctor Garza vs Rush and Blue Panther and Felino and Máximo and Texano and Mr. Águila and Negro Casas and Terrible and Rey Bucanero in a cage match with the hair on the line
Arena Mexico, 09/30/2011
Rush escapes (4:33)
Loser: Rey Bucanero
Match Time: 14:12
Rating: bleh
Notes: TRT enter as a group. Garza and Máximo goof around together, then Garza gets into an argument with Tirantes. TRT stomp down Garza as soon as he gets in. Máximo complains to the referees before joining them. Blue Panther & Rush enter together for no apparent reason, but it just easily allows Negro and Felino to attack them from behind. Referees try to break it up. Mr. Aguila has a nice outfit of the occasion, but has to tip it off quick because the fight's already going. Aguila does get to kick the door closed on Panther's head. Rush tries to get out at Aguila for doing that, and Aguila holds the door shut. Rush holds the door shut down so Aguila can’t get in. Rush lets go, but any excuse for Aguila climb up the cage and dive up is one he'll take. Plancha onto most everyone. There's the whistle.
Everyone but Rush & Negro Casas immediately leave. They're too busy slapping each other, it's not like they know the rules. Announcers explain it's a 3 minute must stay for this one. Most people are alerted to go back in, but Máximo climbs out anyway and has to climb back in. Amapola talks about being in that cage match in Guadalajara. Máximo stands on the top rope and goes around, apparently trying to hand there until the time is up. Aguila and others reach for him, but he keeps fighting them off. Terrible finally pulls him off and fireman's slams him. Meanwhile, everyone is putting each other in a headscissors on the mat. That's what kind of match this is. Máximo immediately goes back to grabbing in the cage, but Rush and Bucanero pull him back down. Rush chops Máximo down, only for Terrible and Texano to attack him from behind. Whistle blows at 3:05.
Bucanero tries to leave, but Aguila stop that. All the rudos stomp Rush for a bit. Técnicos aren't much helping. Garza tries to go, but Felino stops him. TRT pull Felino back, Garza climbs up more, and moonsault off the cage onto TRT. Rush runs around stomping everyone. Rush and Garza decide to leave together, then Rush back elbows Garza off the cage for no real reason and celebrates himself. He's done. Loud boos.
Panther tries to climb out, but TRT pulls him back. Felino and Negro are tossed into each other. Lots of TRT beating up people. Terrible and Texano set up Panther and yell for Buca. Superbomb on Panther. Bucanero decides he's leaving, but a group of people bring him back. Garza tosses Aguila into the cage, but Aguila just hangs on and escapes, rolling over the top.
TRT all try to leave. Casas brothers try to stop them, but Terrible gets free and over the top. He tries to pull Bucanero and Terrible up, but it's a stalemate. Máximo climbs up the cage in between and Kisses Terrible, causing him to let go. Terrible is out, but the other two are in.
Máximo tries to leave, Garza pulls him back down and tells him to stay in, Máximo plays nice with him but seems to be looking for a way out. Máximo tries to kicks Texano, but Texano slips free and kicks him. Bucanero powerbombs Garza off hanging the cage, and he and Texano get over. Bucanero is over, but he's pulled back by his hair by Felino and Máximo superarmdrag him. Texano gets free of Panther and escapes.
Garza escapes, Máximo just watching. Garza tells Máximo to join him, and pulls him to safety just before the rudo can get him.
Bucanero, Felino, Negro Casas, and Blue Panther left. Negro kicks Panther in the corner while the other two try to leave in the same corner. That does not work out well for anyone. Bucanero is crotched in the corner, Panther powerbombs Felino. Panther and Negro right it out until Negro gets in a kick. Negro jumps on Panther’s shoulder, Panther drops him far and puts him in a rolling tapatía. That doesn’t really help you that much in this match, though Negro would prefer not to be in it. Panther lets go and climbs. No one else is up, so Panther has plenty of time, but he also slips and falls while climbing. Panther still makes it over by Negro can get up and stop him.
Negro climbs up, Bucanero right next to and underneath him, and Felino chasing him. All three battle on the top rope of the cage, Felino holding Bucanero in a sleeper as Negro escapes.
Negro immediately drops Panther with a clothesline. Bucanero climbs out and celebrates, as if he's won, but that’s not really how it works. Bucanero goes after Negro and punches him down. Felino chases after him, but the rudos order them both back to the cage. Panther and Negro fight on the ramp for a while. Bucanero tries to tell Panther he has to return to the cage, but no idea why. Break.
Picked up with the whistle, Bucanero stepping in the ring, and Felino cradling him for a two count. Babe Richard is the referee. Rey argues the count, Felino charges him again, one two no. Bucanero drop toe hold, casita, shove off, Felino drop toe hold, elbow drop, off the ropes, running kick to the hest. Felino sets up a hold, Bucanero cradle one two no. Crowd not reacting big to any of this, but they are coming in stronger as Felino runs out around the ring. Bucanero sandwiches Felino on the corner, corner whip, corner clothesline, bulldog out. Bad looking inverted figure four by Bucanero. Felino grabs the ropes to break, which I guess still counts in this match. Felino rolls free of the hold, casita, one two no. Felino waves for support, backs up in the corner, and moves as Bucanero charge. Corner whip, reversed, Felino hops on the middle rope and climbs up, but Bucanero hits him as he charges in. Bucanero sits Felino on the top rope, climbs up with him. Felino hits Bucanero and tries for the superbomb, Bucanero grabs onto the cage and punches to block, but Felino keeps pulling at him. Bucanero keeps battling, stops to taunt – oh, Rey – and that's enough, for Felino to pull him free. One two Felino's outside leg leans on the bottom rope three.
Felino celebrates. Rey doesn’t protest the foot on the ropes much, it's definitely coming off something incidental than a plot point. JCR mentions Vampiro in past Bucanero hair losses. Bucanero now grabs the middle rope and complains about Felino, but it wasn't the middle rope. Bucanero tries to block the barber from getting his hair, then lets it go. Terrible and Texano return to the ring to complain, very briefly. Bucanero only gets a little bit cut off before walking off, and the fans boo. No one's quite sure if this is over or not – they start to play Felino's music as if it is over, but then Bucanero comes back for more. I think they must not have the shaver working, because the barber is just using the clippers. Felino dances, then dances with a random fan.
