Out by a fence somewhere, RJ Brewer introduces himself, talking about his pledge to keep Mexicans jumping the border and revealing that he's been told they're coming over right now. If only RJ wasn't so busy talking, he might see them. Those Mexicans are actually getting around thru the fence during Brewer's monologue - the PR Powers (who may not be Mexican!) vault the fence, Oriental climbs over the top, La and Parkita & Mascarita Dorada slip thru a broken section.
It's the Season Premier! Sure, why not. Clips of the four guys who won singles matches last season; blink and you'll miss RJ's girlfriend.
Did this show have an open last season? It has an open this season, with some new voices
Your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Todd Romero, who was Steve Romero in his past WWE life. Kevin Kelly, still Kevin Kelly. These two are better than the last two just by existing. Nigel appears to be only ring announcer this season. Lalo has returned to his home planet.
Match 1: Rellik & Sydistiko vs Oriental & Tinieblas Jr.
Hard Rock Casino, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 12/12/2010
Winner: Rellik & Sydistiko
Match Time: 7:00
Rating: eh
Notes: Oriental & Tinieblas are going as Rudisimo. A very taped Kevin Kelly voice over informs us the tag team decision match is three weeks ago, and a later one explains it's these two teams and the PR Powers for the tag titles. Rellik & Sydistiko are still representing Treachery, though Sydistiko has changed physical bodies since we last saw him. That happens. Another added late voice over explains these are two rudo teams going at it, and they’re both playing it up that way.
Oriental and Tinieblas get the better of Sydistiko, with double chops around. Drop toe hold, bridging facelock, kick to the face. Referee is not really concerned about keeping people from double teaming, which means he's been briefed on lucha rules. Tinieblas puts Sydistiko in a hold just long enough for Rellik to break it up. Lots of boos for Rellik for whatever reason. Tinieblas comes back with headscissors and armdrag. If they were going to have Kevin Kelly add a lot of commentary after the fact, they should've probably made it sound less dubbed. It’s very noticeable. Oriental comes back in, and watches as Tinieblas and Rellik struggle with some set up. Oriental ends up dropping a flip legdrop before they can sort it out. Break.
Later: the title match!
The action figure commercial is already the best thing on this show.
Oriental up top as they return, but Sydistiko pushes him off to Rellik, who catches him and front slams him. Rellik out, Sydistiko in with a slingshot legdrop, Sydistiko slingshot legdrop, Sydistiko slingshot senton, one two Tinieblas breaks it up. That was a nice idea. Treachery are rammed into each other, Sydistiko takes out Tinieblas with a leg lariat, Oriental with the faceslaps, snap mare – no, he lets go, bounces off the ropes, and dropkicks Sydistiko. Sydistiko flips about five times off that. Long crowd shot here. Oriental with another flip legdrop on Rellik, casita, one two NO. Rellik kicks Oriental, whip, hammer clothesline. Scoop slam, one two Tinieblas breaks it up. Sydistiko misses a clothesline, quebradora con giro by Tieniblas. Tinieblas pump kicks Sydistiko into the ropes, but his charge sends himself out, Sydistiko going low bridge. Pescado by Sydistiko. Back to Rellik and Oriental, Rellik misses a corner charge and he about headbutts a cameraman on the miss. Oriental dropkick to the knee, off the ropes, Rellik clothesline caught and turned into a jumping DDT. Oriental pulls Rellik towards the ropes. Bottom ropes moonsault, middle rope moonsault, Oriental goes up all the way, but a masked man in a black robe swing kicks him. Rellik scoops up Oriental, sit down piledriver is a Demon Driver. Black Robe guy is long gone. Sydistiko shooting star press is “Totally Sydistic”, one two there. Announcers speculate if that was a new member of Treachery.
Kelly recaps the finish.
A special look at Lizmark & Marco. Lizmark, in English (!): “I was born the son of a champion, and it is my destiny to be a champion.” Thanks, Alberto. Lizmark is going to take away Marco's dream, and everyone will bow down to him as champion. Marco talks about his career – hey, Neutron – and says Lizmark was his friend when he moved to Mexico, because then they became enemies. Marco says he'll be the last man standing and first champion.
Backstage, Leticia talks to Mini Park – he's got some paperwork in English he can't understand. She takes a look; his ex-wife wants more money for child support. Park is sad. The restraining order has been suspended, and they'll have a match tonight. That is some weird legal judgment there, though Park takes it better than I would've. Leticia thinks this is all part of Tigresa's plan, because...I don’t know why.
Match 2: Mini Park vs Rosetta Park in a lumberjack strap match
Hard Rock Casino, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 12/12/2010
Winner: Mini Park vs Rosetta Park
Match Time: 4:00
Rating: bad
Notes: Rosetta is wearing a Parka outfit, because of course. Tigresa and Pequeño Halloween are with her, Octagoncito and Mascarita Dorada are with Mini Park, and everyone wears a flannel shirt. Lumberjack match, got it. Park is not so disturbed that he can't just dance. If I'm following the announcers right, Rosetta has 7 kids, not all Mini Park's, and also “more X's than a game of tic-tac-toe.”
Tigresa does not like Mini Park because...Tigresa does not like Mini Park. Announcers bending over backwards to make sure you know the guy is not the one in the wrong here. Park doesn't want to fight, but Rosetta kicks him to throw him out, but Park holds on. Park says in, and Rosetta runs into a drop toe hold. Rosetta charges, Park tosses him. DANCE. Rosetta's offense is a good time to promote the facebook account. Out goes Park, and everyone straps him. “They're tearing the flesh”. Maybe, but he's sort of wearing a full bodysuit. Park makes it back in, yells at the lumberjacks, and doesn't want to fight again. Rosetta yells and slaps and then slaps and yells. Slap finally blocked, shoulder powerslam. Armdrag. Forearms. Whip, springboard, armdrag, quebradora almost goes horrible wrong. Rosetta rolls out for no reason. Técnicos minis try to strap her, rudos lumberjacks cut them off, Park goes up, waits for everyone to turn around, and planchas the pile. Hooray. Park kicks Rosetta, grabs her, high fives some people and throws Rosetta back in. Park dancing. Lots of crowd shots here, they’re clearly clipping this match up, and it's not very good as it is. Park evades Rosetta punches, Rosetta charge the corner, no one home, park sunset flip one tow three. Let us never talk of this again.
Replays of the last match.
The other two in the main event. Charlie Malice tells us we already know his story. Yea, read the papers. He's been battered and bruised and his fans stay with him, so he's going to keep fighting no matter what happens for them and win the title. RJ Brewer says RJ Brewer things. Hey, Mascara Purpura. No more masks! No more backflips!! No more capes!
Backstage, Rebecca Reyes, Mascarita Dorada, Mini Park, Octagoncito and Tatanka are playign poker. Of course they are. Minis sure got back there quick. Ooooh, Park has 3 kings and two aces, that's pretty good. He's all in – and Pequeño Halloween turns over the table. Park keeps staring at his cards as Mini Halloween and Rebecca argue; Halloween doesn't like his wife hanging out with técnicos, even though they're her friends. They storm out, and Tatanka consoles Park on his good hand and bad luck.
Tatanka!
Match 3: Lizmark Jr. vs Marco Corleone, RJ Brewer, Charly Malice for the Lucha Libre USA Heavyweight Championship
Hard Rock Casino, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 12/12/2010
RJ Brewer pins Charly Malice (10:43)
Marco Corleone cradle RJ Brewer (13:50)
Lizmark Jr. superkick Marco Corleone (14:30)
Winner: Lizmark Jr.
Match Time: 14:30
Rating: OK
Notes: Sydistiko is with Lizmark. Kelly says this is elimination rules. Charly Malice is an orphan? Does his brother know this? I wonder how the band who's being used for RJ Brewers' entrance music feels about that. Marco goes right after Lizmark, and we're off.
Punches to the face, taking them both out and fighting right in front of a very temporary looking barrier. Charly holds RJ as they brawl. Sydistiko gets in a cheap shot to help Lizmark take control. Marco turns things around long enough to chase Sydistiko out. Inside, Malice is hiptossing RJ around. Dropkick. Malice sizes RJ up, then turns around into a lazy Lizmark elbow. Lizmark chest slaps Charlie a bit. Corner whip, clothesline misses, Marco pulls Charly out and rushes in himself. Face off, Marco punches, turnbuckle smash, across the ring, a turnbuckle smash to another corner, to a third corner, to a fourth corner. There's two more to go. Number five! Did we skip one here? RJ attacks Marco from behind, and Lizmark rolls out to get a back massage from Sydistiko. Are only two people allowed in at once? I'm not sure. Effectively the case. Brewer suplex for two. Marco off the ropes, Charlie pulls him out, springboard plancha in, one two NO. We're told the ring will go away if RJ wins. Is the ring Mexican? I guess. Chops by RJ. Whip, quick reverse, Brewer charges, no one home, Charly backs him up anyway, RJ kips up, Charly shoves him off to the floor. Charlie waits for something. Charly up top – plancha to the floor. Sydistiko cheap shots Charly on the outside while Marco clothesline Lizmark on the outside. Marco gets up for his dive, but Sydistiko jumps on the apron to cut him off. Marco turns to complain to the ref, who's not help. Providing actual help is Super Nova, who pulls Sydistiko off the apron and punches him a bit. Marco leaves the ring so they can have everyone out of the ring, and a break.
Everyone in the ring and Everyone hitting each other. Lizmark and Marco last one standing, Charly tripping Lizmark on the top rope, RJ charges, Charly moves, and RJ accidentally fouls Lizmark. Charlie clotheslines RJ, fixes his turns, climbs up top – top rope 'rana sends Lizmark onto RJ, nice idea. Charlie decides to cover both, one two Marco pulls him off! Why would you do that?? Announcers ignore it, and Marco punches Charly. Spit goes flying. Whip, misses, miss, Charlie headscissors. Charlie flipped to the apron, back in with a sunset flip, Marco blocks, Lizmark grabs Charlie's legs and slingshots him into Marco's groin. Charly needs to find pants that fit him so he doesn’t spend half the match fixing them, especially when he’s supposed to be hurt. Lizmark slingshots Charlie into RJ's front cracker one two NO. RJ thought that was it. Lizmark kicks RJ. Whip, big spinebuster. Lizmark spots Marco coming in, and kicks him. Slam for him. Lizmark off the ropes, legdrop on Marco. Legdrop on Marco. One two NO. Charlie waiting for Lizmark to turn around, but he stops to look at the crowd. Lizmark misses a clothesline, Charlie right hands, whip, Lizmark grabs the ropes, Charlie bodyscissors him out. Charlie goes for a dive, but Marco cuts him off with a kick and slam. Slam for RJ too. Marco up top. - and Marco turns and planchas Lizmark and Sydistiko. RJ and Charlie fight it out with punches. RJ with some loose kicks. Chops. Corner whip, RJ misses his charge, Charlie's dropkick gets the ref – RJ pulled him in front there. Charlie checks on the ref, grabs his head, then turns around into a flying shoulderblock from RJ. RJ counts his own pin, but the ref is still down. RJ pokes the ref with his boot then turns it around – “Malicious Intent!” RJ gives up to what we know as El Pozo, but the ref is still down. Super Nova In, checking on the ref - and stomping Charlie. Huh? Canadian Destroyer. Kevin has a vague recollection he's seen that move before, by someone, somewhere. Super Nova drags RJ on top, ref recovers one two three.
Super Nova unmasks – it's actually Petey Williams, and we are to refer to that move as the Destroyer; I guess he moved! Marco and Lizmark back in. RJ bails out, and the other two fight out. There's a bad Lizmark clothesline here for two. RJ is grabbing his left knee, with the announcers sure he's hurt from the submission hold. Chops. Corner whip, Lizmark charges in, Marco moves. Slam, Marco backs up – no, he's going out, and grabbing RJ and throwing him back in. RJ begs off, but both guys are brought in by the ropes, and both guys are clotheslined out. Their seconds checks on both guys – Air Corleone collets everyone but RJ, who ducks in the ring. RJ wants Marco and Lizmark counted out, but Marco's crawl around the ring. RJ is looking the ring wrong way, and Marco cradles him one two three.
Lizmark in and kicking Marco. Legdrop – misses, Big left hand punch. Corner whip, corner planchas, Marco out to the apron, Marco up top, top rope plancha. Both up, Marco going for the Mark (Marco?) of Excellence, but Lizmark hooks the top rope. Sydistiko on the apron, Marco clocks him off and yells at him. Lizmark has the ref some reason – oh, so Rellik can climb out for under the ring and toss powder in Marco’s face. Superkick by Lizmark, one two three. Heroic job by the ref to ignore the cloud of dust.
Replays. Lizmark holds the title. “What does this mean for Lucha Libre USA?” It means Lizmark is champ, I think. Treachery vs PR Powers next week.
Final shot: In loving Memory of Chris “Solid” Long.
