Match 1: Bengala & Freesbe vs Camorra & Ramstein
Arena Mexico, 09/13/2011
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:43
Rating: bad
Notes: No one is here. There are more people in seats than in the match, but barely so, and they make no noise. Referee is Terror Chino.
1: Piars are split old/old and new/new. Casadora armdrag sends Ramstein out. I think this is the first time I've actually seen Freesbe in a match. He and Camorra have some difficulties and Camorra really slows it down for a while and they stick to basic stuff. First two back in, Bengal wraps up with a casadora cradle, and Freesbe's submission looks less than convincing.
2: Camorra has a good slap, goes out to a middle rope headscissors from Freesbe. Freesbe celebrates, Ramstein attacks, beatdown starts there. Ramstein holds up Freesbe for Camorra's frontcracker. That's it for him, and Ramstein takes out Sombra with a something close to a valagueza.
3: Generic beatdown leading to Freesbe sidestepping a corner charge Ramstein throwing himself out. A single armdrag on Camorra and a Bengal quebrada con giro on Ramstein constitutes the comeback. Action would be fairly described as slow and cold. Old guys slap young guys out, Bengala dropkicks Ramstein out, and Bengala follows with a slingshot tornillo. Camorra ducks a clothesline, Freesbe planchas him, Camorra fouls Freesbe on the next pass.
Match 2: Fantasy, Mini Máximo ©, Último Dragoncito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico
Arena Mexico, 09/13/2011
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:13
Rating: bleh
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano.
1: Máximo and Olímpico are in the ring before the matchup graphic, the Fantasy has taken the técnico place when they come back. There may have just been a tag we missed, as Olímpico was telling Máximo to get out. Fantasy/Olímpico is standard. Dragoncito messes with Nitro over handshakes and quickly sends him out with a casadora armdrag. Crowd chants for Máximo, the first time they've said anything this show. Mercurio has all sorts of problems with hm, though his partners don't care when he complains. After test of strength teases tongue kiss, Mini Máximo sends Mercurio out with his own casadora armdrag. Nitro and Olímpico immediately charge the técnicos, knocking everyone but Fantasy out of the ring. Hey, another lift up for a front cracker. Corner clothesline for Mini Máximo, who stands on the middle ropes for them. Buca Storm finishes Mini Máximo for the pin.
2: Rudos still in control. Dragoncito kicked around. Triple boot finds Mini Máximo. Dragoncito lands on his from a rebound hiptoss, still gets kicked out. Fantasy takes corner clotheslines, then is whipped into a face first powerbomb. This one beatdown is going loud for such a dead crowd. Máximo comes in with a hard slap, but gets slapped down himself. Rudos grab a limb and kick for a bit, but break before getting a DQ. They do get a mean look from Tigre Hispano. Dragoncito rushes in, kick Nitro down, but is controlled by the others. They must really like this boxing match, because they keep on hyping it with an onscreen graphic. Fantasy grabs Dragoncito on the run, Olímpico charges into a drop toe hold onto the ropes, Fantasy kicks him back into the ring, Mini Máximo follows with a springboard armdrag on Nitro, Fantasy does one on Mercurio, those two go out with Asia moonsaults of varying merit, and Dragoncito submits Olímpico.
3: Nitro/Máximo are in quick. Fantasy and Mercurio actually work well of each other. Fantasy is into back flips today. Olímpico is just destroyed by Dragoncito, so the rudos rush the técnicos again. Dragoncito takes a monkey flip and Mercurio superkick for an unexpected finish. I'm not sure if the idea was for Dragoncito be propelled into the superkick, but it was more Dragoncito got monkey flipped (only a short distance) then got up and took the superkick.
Match 3: Dragon Lee, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro © vs Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis, Yoshihashi
Arena Mexico, 09/13/2011
técnicos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:07
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Rodolfo. Both sides want to brawl before the match, and Rodolfo is in no hurry to get them backed off and into their corners.
1: Dragon Lee vs Yoshihashi! This is a dare. Dragon Lee forces Yoshihashi into a figure four, then rolls out just as quick to got a chin lock. Weird to hear Bucanero repeatedly promoting this cage match featuring Rey Bucanero. Zero trip bit includes Dragon Lee getting in the other standing SSP for two. They’re out after that. Expert Motorcyclist Vangelis is in next, but Palacio Negro wants a piece of Okumura instead for some reason. He chases Okumura to the ramp, gets no further, and tags out to Blanco. They keep it on the mat as well until the standoff. Palacio and Okumura are in last. Chest slap fight is a bit more Okumura's way. He waits with a single leg, then surprise Palacio with a quick clothesline on the run. Whip, Palacio flips himself to the apron, kicks Okumura thru the ropes, then springboards off them for a dropkick. Palacio runs for a thru the ropes dive, but Vangelis smacks hi with a kick as he comes thru the ropes. Palacio is on the floor but shaken up. Yoshihashi runs in the ring, but Blanco takes him out with a quebradora. Dragon Lee going out – run up the ropes tope con giro somewhat connects with Vangelis. Japanese duo try cornering Blanco, but it backfires and Palacio comes back in with another springboard dropkick on Yoshihashi. Blanco swings kicks Okumura into a Palacio Negro Air Raid Crash (sort of), and then both go up top – plancha/legdrop combo, one two three. Boos.
2: Dragon Lee gets the better of Vangelis, Vangelis lands his wheel kick and throws Dragon Lee to the ramp, Dragon Lee comes back in with a springboard headscissors. Vangelis spins out, stops long enough to do the crane pose, then runs to avoid any dive. Blanco and Okumura in, Blanco with a walk the ropes triple jump headscissors on Okumura, who also runs to avoid any dive. Yoshihashi flips Palacio to the apron, but Palacio bates back form there to land a guillotine legdrop. Yoshihashi tumbles out, and takes a headscissors the floor well. Crowd really isn't reacting. Palacio back in, and runs right into a Vangelis' Northern Lights suplex. Okumura blocks off the técnicos, and that's three.
3: Beatdown now in progress. Palacio Negro takes a big double backdrop, and a Yoshihashi dropkick. Metal Blanco is chopped and clotheslined. Dragon Lee takes corner clotheslines and slaps. Palacio Negro slapped down by everyone. Rudos hold him for Okumura to kick for a while, but Okumaru's running kick is interrupted by Dragon Lee pulling him out. Metal Blanco springboard headscissors on Vangelis, Dragon Lee springboard dropkick on Yoshihashi. Those two técnicos tease dies, rudos rush around the camera side of the ring to escape, técnicos follow with a triple dive on that side instead: Dragon Lee & Metal Blanco tope con giros and Palacio Negro top rope Asai moonsault. Quite a sight. Palacio all fired up. Okumura and Palacio back in, Palacio flipped to the apron but stun gunning Okumura off the apron. Headstand rope flip moonsault eats knees, one two Metal Blanco break sit up with a dropkick. Blanco slaps Okumura, fireman's drops him in the center of the ring, and heads up – senton con giro lands well. One two Yoshihashi breaks it up. Yoshihashi's dropkick look Japanese – I guess I mean they're more angled, and more to the side of the body, if that makes any sense at all. Yoshihashi cut his throat, and drops Metal Blanco with a jackhammer. Dragon Lee breaks it up. Dragon lee gets in the roll over Yoshihashi's back, kick to the knocks Yoshihashi down, and standing SSP is not really close to landing in the right spot. Vangelis breaks it up. Everyone’s already seen his move, so he uses a big sit down powerbomb instead. Palacio back in for the save. Vangelis bumped into the ropes, Palacio off the other side, and right into Vangelis’ wheel kick. Vangelis is proud of himself. Corner whip, Palacio turns it round, Okumura flips his partner to safety, Michinoku Driver, Yoshihashi splash, one two three! Wow, upset.
Match 4: Olímpico, Psicosis, Volador Jr. vs Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Rush
Arena Mexico, 09/13/2011
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 6:41
Rating: good as a setup
Notes: Joined with the Invasors on the attack already. Referee is Terror Chino.
1: Rudos all lift Rush up for a big ram into the post. Angel de Oro has been disposed already, so Diamante tries coming into face everyone and falls at that quickly. Suplex lift into an Olímpico spinebuster. Angel de Oro takes a corner kick, then a double hiptoss. Psi drops him with the corner layout chestbreaker. The rudo covers, Referee doesn't count until something is fixed, it's not clear what the problem is, but it's eventually three. Volador finishes Diamante himself. That was easy.
2: Corner charges for Angel de Oro. Catapult hold/Olímpico springboard senton on Diamante. Rush is in, booed, and quickly booted out. Rudos brawl with him on the floor. Angel de Oro and Diamante try to help, are not much help. Olímpico sets up Angel de Oro on the top rope to go after his mask while he's at it. Or let back down, flipping run, back bend under a double clothesline – but Volador stops him with a superkick. Diamante slips in, but is kicked around. Diamante flipping run, but the rudos all dropkick him. They're destroying the técnicos. Volador rushes in and bulls Volador down, but the técnicos stomp him on him, Olímpico jumping on rush's back to stomp on him. Rush lets go and kicks at Olímpico, so Psicosis gets in some close rabbit punches. Rush held for loud chops. Rush ducks a double clothesline (no, he really doesn’t, and the rudos have to lift up their arms at the last second to make it work) superkick on Volador. Other técnicos with springboard dropkicks to knocks the rudos out. Dives are cut off; Volador trips up Angel de Oro on the ring, and Olímpico yanks Diamante off in mid springboard. Angel de Oro belatedly kicks his way free of Angel de Oro, and goes cross ring for a tope con giro on Olímpico, Psicosis and Diamante, but the rudos spot him and only the técnicos taken out. Suplexes on the floor but the rudos. Volador in, and Rush misses him with a missile dropkick. Volador is very proud to have sidestepped that. Triple bomb, up again, a second done. Not done? Ah, Volador has to get in the backcracker. One two three. Straight falls.
Olímpico is the one who makes the challenge. Rush whines about not being respected, by the rudos or the fans, but he's accepting the challenge to prove he's Rush.
Match 5: Atlantis, Black Warrior, Super Porky vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Hiroshi Tanahashi, Último Guerrero
Arena Mexico, 09/13/2011
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:22
Rating: bleh
Notes: Black Warrior has switched his music. It's not as good. Tanahashi wears his title and plays his air guitar on the way to the ring. Guerreros enter as a group. Ref is Tigre Hispano.
1: Rudos jump técnicos. Tanahashi and Porky combine for the slowest dramatic snap mare possible, then Tanahashi puts a knee on Porky's chest and plays more air guitar. Ring is cleared of all but Porky, who takes a corner low blow dropkick. Flying sit on Warrior. Atlantis held for slaps, knocked down in the corner, and takes the senton de la muerte. Double suplex on Porky, and Tanahashi tope it with the frog splash (announcer: “cinco estrellas” - wrong guy!) Dragon lands the inside out dropkick on Warrior, crawls back in, and gets the three. UG brawls with Atlantis to the desk.
2: Porky has to run to take a double boot. It's not a pretty sight. Atlantis charges UG on a corner whip, takes him down and reigns in punches to start the comeback. Tanahashi is dropped with a silly belly bump. Atlantis and Ultimo Guerrero and Black Warrior an Dragon Rojo brawl while Porky just stands on Tanahashi. After everything calms down, the four who aren't in a mask vs mask feud all back in, and the técnicos wrap it up while Atlantis keeps UG out. Black Warrior needed a couple tries at setting up the casita there.
3: Rudos are afraid to approach the ring because Porky teases a dive off the apron for a while. Back in, and UG & DR feed themselves into the headlock/headscissors takeover. Tanahashi is chopped by mistake, and Porky flattens the other two. Dragon Rojo chops Warrior down and does the Warrior dance, so Warrior spears Dragon Rojo and does the Dragon Rojo dance! Warrior reverses a sunset flip to send Dragon Rojo into UG's dropkick, then tags in Atlantis to face UG. Both their masks are untied. Off the ropes evasion, headscissors roll sends UG over the top and out. Dragon Rojo charges, Dragon Rojo clipped out. Atlantis teases a dive, Dragon Rojo bails, Black Warrior does a tope con giro off the apron, and Dragon Rojo (accidentally?) ducks under it. There was a camera person right in between the two that almost got taken out and may have screened Dragon Rojo from seeing the dive; not good times for Warrior at any rate. He's up, but the match grind to a halt. Warrior has to go to the rudo corner, pull off a confused Tanahashi, pull Dragon Rojo over and set up both rudos for Porky's apron splash. Warrior immediately drops down in pain after finishing that. Inside, Atlantis gives UG a quebradora, but ULG slips out of an Atlantis to cradle Atlantis, with a foot and arm on the ropes. One two three.
Atlantis can't believe he lost, though he'll believe when someone points out the rope grab.
