Match 1: Enrique Vera Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Metálico vs Loco Max, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II
Arena Mexico, 08/16/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:26
Rating: not good
Notes: Referee is Tigre Hispano.

1: It takes a long while for everyone to get sorted out, and Loco Max and Metálico keep it slow. Metálico won't let Loco Max just leave either, pushing the Rayos away to spit at Loco in the corner. Rayo II and Enrique are a little better. Enrique gets a headscissors on the mat, Rayo I rushes into break it up, and Bala chases him up the aisle. Vera gets a toe hold, repeat, though Loco cuts off Bala this time. Rudos don't wait for Vera to try again, attacking him from behind and starting the stop down. Tapatios go for Bala's mask, then hold him in cavernaria to finish him. Loco slaps around Bala a while before finishing him.

2: Bala's mask is pretty ripped up on side. Crowd cheers loudly when a Tapatío low blow dropkicks him, though that's not a finish this fall. Vera gets kicked questionably low and screams on the mat. Crowd totally approves of these actions. Loco Max screams loud enough to hurt Tiger Hispano's ears, then it's Metalico's turn to get kicked. Bala ducks a double clothesline and dropkicks Loco out, to massive boos. Tapatios and Gen11 are left in (no Metálico dive, he just vanishes), técnicos screw up a double team in a planned spot, Rayos dropkick each other, técnicos dropkick them both out. Vera climbs to the top rope, almost falls backwards, and jumps off with a crappy plancha. Bala's tope looks world class in comparison. Metálico finishes Loco with an odd cradle. More boos.

3: Slow start. Crowd way behind the rudos. Metálico tosses Loco Max around. A Rayo stops Metálico out. Enrique Vera comes in to dropkick that Rayo, his dropkick isn't close, the Rayo stumbles backwards four or five steps and rolls out of the ring. Amazingly horrible. Other Rayo slaps him out. Bala actually connects on his dropkick! Vera comes back in and slams Rayo (II?) and Bala comes in with a slingshot senton con giro. That's three. Inverted powerslam on the other Rayo to finish him. Wrong team won.

Match 2: Goya Kong, Lady Apache, Silueta vs La Seductora, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
Arena Mexico, 08/16/2011

  1. rudas

  2. tecnicas
  3. técnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 14:40
Rating: better than expected
Notes: Referee is Pompin.

1: Karla is a huge Lady Apache fan. She handles Seuxis, for whom everything seems to hurt a lot. REINA must put emphasis on selling! Seuxis also takes a crazy looking ride to the outside on a clothesline. Silueta and Seductora are next. It goes well, though Silueta gets before coming back with a headscissors and a double jump dropkick. Crowd rallies behind her. Goya is over. Springboard armdrag works, and Goya is about to try the big sit before the other rudas make the save. Goya recovers to knock them all over, Silueta and Lady Apache splash the pile, Goya splashes – but the pile moves. Técnicas are very slow to react. Blanca & Seuxis front suplex Apache onto Goya for one pin, while Seductora takes out Silueta.

2: Beatdown. A lot of kicking. Rudas have a complicated plan for Goya – Seuxis kick to the midsection, Blanca. slap to the backside, and Seductora second rope silla. Nicely timed. Wheelbarrow slam into feet for Lady Apache. Wheelbarrow frontcracker for Silueta. This is much more professional than the last match. Corner jumping hip checks for Goya. Double suplex on Lady Apache – except she escapes and small packages Blanca for the surprise one two three. Seuxis was the other half of the suplex, but Silueta nicely took her out with a spear and a cradle (that wasn't counted.) That would appear to be the fall, except Everyone keeps fighting. Rudos are all whipped in the corner, and Goya squashes them. Triple submission on Seductora – wait, so is Seuxis the captain? I wish I knew. Rey and Karla say Blanca IS the captain in the replays, so maybe I just wish they knew.

3: Lady Apache goes thru Blanca easily and has Seductora handed easily when she hands off to Goya. Goya armdrag her out and poses, only for Seuxis to kick her down from behind. Whip, reversed, Seuxis tries for a frontcracker but Goya won't go (!), sunset flip, Seuxis moves just in time and dropkicks Goya. Dropkick again, and out goes Goya. Seuxis celebrates a bit, and Silueta gets her with a tope rope armdrag. Silueta slow follow up and Seuxis kicks and chokes her over the middle rope. Sexi tries for something fireman’s carry wise, and Silueta escapes to a 'rana. Headscissors, blocked into a faceslam by Seuxis. Dropkick, and she's out too. Lady Apache in, and locks on a slow abdominal stretch wise. Seuxis has no hope here, but the rudas break it up. Corner whip, Blanca whipped in after, Apache moves. Rudas see Goya in and try a double clothesline on her, but she breaks thru and Silueta plancha them both. Goya runs Blanca over, and the novata técnicos hold the rudas together for Lady Apache's plancha. Lady Apache slides off so Goya and lands the running splash, and Apache and Silueta pose on top for the win.

Match 3: Diamante, Fuego, Toscano vs Misterioso Jr., Psicosis, Shigeo Okumura
Arena Mexico, 08/16/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:10
Rating: ok
Notes: Diamante is wearing Monclova Aceros (baseball) jersey, #37. That doesn't seem to match up with anyone on the current team. Diamante is returning from his toe injury. No Mima, she's in Japan. Ref is Bestia Negra.

1: Okumura/Diamante are first. Fuego/Misterio have all sorts of problems with a step over the head spot, but move on after a couple tries. Psicosis suckers Toscano into a pose off so he can get in a cheap shot. Clothesline and a tope by Toscano ends their exchange and brings the fall into endgame. Fuego backdrops Misterioso and puts him in La Flashina (YAAAAAY – he's out of practice but still) for one pin, while Diamante takes care of the other. This was definitely the first fall of a CMLL match.

2: técnicos still in control, Fuego armdragging Misterioso all around before teasing a dive. Diamante springboard headscissors Okumura out, then gives him a quebradora con giro on the floor. Diamante comes back in, Psicosis get in a kick to the shin, and that starts the rudos being in control. Rather easy. Beatdown actually lasts a bit this fall. Toscano is lifted up and rammed backside first into the post. Diamante's held up for Psicosis senton. Gori Special on Fuego, and Psicosis and Okumura add missile dropkicks.

3: Two man powerbomb for Fuego. Double backdrop for Diamante, who is limping a bit as he walks around on the floor. Toscano is dropkicked in the backside, which causes him to fly out of the ring. Fuego held, dropkicked. Toscano ducks a double chop, Misterioso and Okumura shoulderblocks him out, Diamante plancha them both, Psicosis pulls him out, but Fuego takes care of both Okumura and Misterioso long enough o get a near fall of a quebradora. Diamante makes it back in to face Misterioso, powerslaming him for two. Psicosis arrives to dropkick him, and Toscano confronts Psicosis. Casadora back bridge cradle one two no. Headscissors cradle one two No. Corner whip, Psicosis holds up in the corner, Toscano is flipped up but kicks Psicosis away and stays in the ring. Toscano takedown, front bridge, one and Misterio break it up. All six in the ring, Fuego and Diamante dropkick out Misterioso and Okumura out, and follow with a tope and a tope con giro. Toscano back in with a plancha on Psicosis. Toscano stops to pose. Psicosis goes for a low kick, Toscano blocks, 'rana, one two three.

Match 4: Blue Panther, La Máscara, Rush vs Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Volador Jr.
Arena Mexico, 08/16/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:21
Rating: ok
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano

1: Olímpico and Blue Panther on the mat is going at a higher speed than the rest of this show, though it goes a bit wrong when Panther puts Olímpico in a reverse gori stretch but immediately looses his blanc and stumbles backwards into the ropes. Olímpico takes as bad a fall as Panther. They try to go with it, but it's to clear a screw up. They do slow things down for a while, but Olímpico is unafraid to climbing on Panther's back for a mounted hold soon after. Olímpico pulls out the Mr. Mexico Indian deathlock pose, but it's too early for that to work. Olímpico armdrags Panther into the standoff. Crowd is very happy to see Volador in the ring. He and Mascara are also speedy, with a couple neat counters, and Volador pokes Mascara in the middle of the standoff. Rush is booed facing off with Aguila, but drops him on his head with a clothesline, then tosses him with a belly to belly suplex. Kick is actually nowhere near Aguila, but Aguila lifts him for the fireman's carry anyway. Rudos make the save and clear the ring quickly. Double backdrop, Aguila wheel kick (also not close), Volador superkick, scream, backcracker on Mascara. One two three. Olímpico finishes Panther at the same time.

2: Volador goes for Mascara's mask. Aguila punches Rush on the mat, while limping around. Rudos triple team Máscara, who gets a Volador frontcracker. Aguila clotheslines Rush hard in the corner, the others slap him around. Rush whipped the other away, but flips to the apron and slowly chases Aguila around. The other four battle in the ring, Panther giving Olímpico an odd DDT. Mascara goes for Volador's mask, but is pulled off by Tigre Hispano. Volador is chopped around by all three, and stops selling it to howl to the crowd. Whip, Rush kick, Mascara superkick. Superkick for Aguila too, and Rush add a tope con giro. That goes better here. Técnicos finish things off in the ring with their holds. Boos.

3: Aguila turns into the Rush elbow smash, throwing it off. Aguila comes back on the next whip with a crucifix roll up for a long two count. Northern lights suplex by Rush (!) but Olímpico breaks it up and dropkicks him out. Aguila tope con giro on to him. Panther backdrops Olímpico and slowly sets up for la tapatía, but Volador breaks it up. Mascara in. Crowd loud. Face off. Mascara takes off his shirt. Both run the same way, Mascara spins around, and Volador catches him with a clothesline. Volador of the ropes, Mascara trips him up and covers for zero. Sunset flip roll thru spot, both guys lost, Volador sunset flip roll thru, Mascara kicks misses, Volador kips up and down repeatedly, Mascara is annoyed, but superkicks Volador when he stands. Volador back with a shoulderblock, and sidesteps the rolling dropkick. Volador charges, Máscara sends him to the apron, Volador forearms him hard from there, and smashes into the buckle one, second one is blocked and Mascara swings kicks him out. Máscara to the top rope – and off for plancha. Olímpico and Panther back in, figure four on Olímpico. Rush and Aguila come back in, but instead of just breaking it up, hit their finishes to the prone guys; double stomp on Olímpico, standing moonsault on Panther, both cover, one two three.

Both celebrate, then Rush charges Aguila. Evasion leads to a Rush backs suplex. Senton meets knees! Aguila jumping heel kick one two three. Wow, clean again!

Aguila makes the title challenge. They play an exciting game of catch the microphone, but Rush accepts.
