Match 1: Hijo del Fantasma ©, Sagrado, Valiente vs El Alebrije, Histeria, Olímpico ©
Arena Mexico, 05/27/2011
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:08
Rating: good
Notes: Hijo de Fantasma is captain! Técnicos in trouble. Referee is Rodolfo Ruiz. Técnicos have Monito, rudos have Cuije.
1: Alebrije/Valiente mat battle! It's quite a fight, until Valiente dropkick Alebrije out. Sagrado/Olímpico is next. Olímpico is now wearing a bandana over his head. Crowd seems to be reacting to something not happening in the match. Back and forth cradles here. Histeria and Fantasma in. Pose off! Fantasma quickly gets the rudo with a headscissors. Alebrije in, they have trouble setting up, corner whip, Fantasma kicks him away, Valiente rolls in, off the far ropes, under Alebrije's clothesline, and laying out Histeria with a tope. Sagrado springboards in, but Alebrije powerbombs him. Olímpico takes care of Histeria too, and that's it.
Announcer stand up. An odd way to do it. They discuss the mask match and the end of the Forjando un Idolo final.
Show open, 15 minutes in.
Black and white footage Brazo de Oro taking Brazo de Oro Jr. down the halls of Arena Mexico. (It's clearly one of La Mascara's sons and this is recent footage, but roll with it.) Brazo de Oro asks Brazo de Oro Jr. what his father does, and of course he replies that his father is the best wrestler in the world. Cut to more Brazo kids play wrestling in a room, when they hear from a radio (JCR pretending, making a rare cameo on this show) about the Brazo losing their masks. Shots of the Brazos doing sit ups (just their head, which quickly gets older) doing situps as the radio announcer man keeps announcing various Brazos losing their masks, one after another. This is a slight bit hokey but a lot bit great. The Brazos are historically losers, but La Mascara is going to redeem them all!
2: Beatdown. Cuije gets in a middle rope low blow headbutt on Sagrado. Fantasma is in no hurry to get this started. Triple press slam for him. Alebrije grabs Fantasma and throws him up the ramp. That will never backfire. Cuije taunts Monito! Rudos beat up Valiente, but he flips over them on a corner whip. Alebrije slaps him, but Cuije ducks under and he takes a double chop from the others. Histeria gets Valiente, Sagrado superkicks Histeria, Olímpico takes out Sagrado, Ghost Lariat gets Olímpico. Sagrado superkicks Alebrije one more time, and everyone covers Olímpico for the pin.
CMLL Informa: Silueta and Zeuxis are in Japan, challenging for titles and such. This makes it sound like they're winning all the time, which is a creative retelling. Really, these two are getting more mentions on this show when they're not on it.
And break!
Averno and Hijos de Averno stand behind flames and La Mascara mask on a pike. Averno cuts a very (purposefully) echoing promo. Mascara will fall to the power of the Hijos de Averno.
3: Olímpico chases away the ring girl as the rudos recover. They're in no hurry to start. Alebrije/Valiente chop fight goes badly for Valiente, but he realizes that taking off Alebrije chest protect will help. Alebrije is rolled by a Valiente dropkick to the knee, and Valiente easily gets a double jump springboard armdrag. Valiente throws himself out of the way to avoid an Alebrije charge, and Sagrado comes in with a springboard dropkick the big man. Histeria in, avoidance, Histeria shoulderblock, he losses track of Sagrado, and Sagrado headscissors him. Sagrado armdrags Olímpico around and stops him with a quebradora. Fantasma in, Olímpico gets free of a split legged faceslam because his head is slippery. Fantasma gives this a look like it's the best thing ever in his life. Fantasma superkick, enziguri sends Olimpico out, and Fantasma follows with a tope, spilling some beer, I think. Histeria back elbows Sagrado as he comes in, but Valiente gets pulled in with an armdrag on him. Valiente tells Sagrado where to stand, Sagrado fakes a dive and then stands at the spot, and Valiente use the help for a top rope moonsault on Histeria. Sagrado misses the dropkick on Alebrije, Cuije tries kicking him, Sagrado blocks that kick but not the big man's kick. Alebrije charges, Sagrado moves, Alebrije this the post on the way out. Cuije charges, Sagrado scoops him up and slams him by the corner. Moonsault? No plancha on Alebrije. Big impact. Monito in and bum rushing Cuije. Monito to the apron – plancha on Cuije to the floor. Histeria and Valiente chop on the floor, but Cuije shoves Valiente down before he post Histeria. Rodolfo is counting everyone out, as they're fighting on the outside. Alebrije and Sagrado go into the front row, with Alebrije trapping Sagrado's leg and kicking the seat into his ankle. Captain is in. Fantasma takes off his shirt. Chop fight. Shoulderblock, Fantasma campana, Olímpico tries to squirm free, Fantasma pulls his tights, Olímpico still gets free. Fantasma 'rana, Histeria returns to break it up. Alebrije in too. Swinging gate sent up, and Alerbije runs thru for the sort of powerbomb. That was not their cleanest one. Alebrije and Olímpico covers, and Histeria ushers Cuije over so he can cover too – one two three.
Rudos beat up the técnicos. Lots of replay.
Fan reaction: mostly people screaming into the microphone as loud as they can.

Notes: Ultimo Guerrero and Blue Panther are with their men. Shocker is out here because he's really got nothing better to do. Doesn’t look like Negro is here. This is a normal three falls match, no time limit. Referee is Maya. I’m working off the YouTube version.

Pólvora clothesline misses, Angel de Oro gets boosted into a dropkick. Pólvora out to the ramp, but quickly down tot he floor. Angel de Oro slide out after him, just as Pólvora slides in. Angel de Oro springboard roll in, pausing shoulderblock for Pólvora (Pólvora made it actually look like it did something), Angel de Oro springboard meets counter dropkick. Pólvora ties up the legs, looks up, and finishes the nudo lagunero to finish Angel de Oro. Looks much better this time, he's got Oro well off the mat. Blue Panther at work!
CMLL Informa: Mascara Dorada in the Super Juniors.
2: Crowd mixed. Both guys shove and start throwing slaps. Off the rope avoidance leads to a handspring plancha by Angel de Oro, but it only gets two. Oro drops down to avoid a clothesline, then kips right back up for a dropkick. Really agile looking spot. Pólvora out, Angel de Oro wasting no time – running handspring moonsault to the floor! Seconds check on both men. Angel de Oro tries to get in first, but Pólvora pulls him back. Pólvora taunting the crowd. Angel de Oro waiting for him on the apron. Pólvora charges, Angel de Oro jumps in the ring around him, and Pólvora gets his leg caught in the ropes. Angel de Oro shakes him free, casadora, into the mecedora. Just that quick, it's over.
CMLL Informa: Virus won the second cibernético, will face Guerrero maya Jr.
3: Dueling corner poses. Angel de Oro misses a corner charge, but leaps to the apron and springboards back in with a dropkick. Crowd booing Angel de Oro now. Corner whip, Oro charges in, Pólvora kicks him away, and charges out with a running shoulderblock that flips Angel de Oro. Quick pose, then cover, one two NO. Pólvora is NOT standing around nearly as much between moves, which is nice to see. Both are starting to get exhausted here. Crowd is loud. Angel de Oro off the ropes, 'rana one two NO. Crowd has vocally picked a favorite, and it's not Angel de Oro. Pólvora forced a casadora cradle one two NO. Had a bit of trouble getting Oro over. This better not be fifteen straight minutes of nearfall. Pólvora extorting the crowd to make noise. Both up, Polvora's clothesline caught, and Angel de Oro dumps him in front the corner. Angel de Oro taking his time going up, and getting shoved all the way out. Pólvora up raises hi arm, up top rope, and off with a plancha. They landed right into the legs of the front row. A few replays of this. Both men slow up. Pólvora makes it without problem. Some people loudly chanting for him. Pólvora charges Angel de Oro as he gets on the apron, gets caught in the ropes again, and this time Angel de Oro superkick him free. Outside in moonsault moonsaults! Goozle! CHOKESLAM! Didn't expect that. One two NO. We're well into dramatic slow count territory, and Pólvora freaks out over the speed of that one. Pólvora grabs Oro, sets him up, and drops him with a running powerbomb one two NO. Pólvora on him with stomps. Pólvora raise his arms, and goes the middle rope to lead on the crowd. That actually gets boots. Back to work. Oro taken out of the ring, tot he base of the stairs. Oro slapped down. What is Pólvora doing here? Referee would like to know. Pólvora grabs Oro, gets a running start, and throws him at the floor of the ramp, causing Angel de Oro to bounce into the ring. Pólvora stop to point to the crowd. Stay on target, man. Knee lift to Oro's head. Whip, wild clothesline misses, Oro back with a swinging headscissors. Oro backs up, inside out moonsault connects! Both men down again. Replays as the count is on both. Oro looking in better shape, walking to the ring and crawling in. Pólvora is on his feet at 18, but thru the ropes at 18. Oro looking the wrong way, Pólvora hops on his shoulders headscissors cradle, one two NO. Angel de Oro has to pay more attention. Both slow up. Pólvora back up, dropkick knocks Oro down. Pólvora yells to the crowd, who boos him when he does stuff like that but seem to cheer him when he does moves. Oro set up in the corner and slapped. Corner whip, Oro sits on the corner and taunts Pólvora into joining him. Pólvora does not want to play that game and tells Angel de Oro to come down. Angel does not, so Pólvora runs up the corner and grabs Angel de Oro. Oro quickly gets in a jab, front superplex! Shouldn't have gone up there, Pólvora. One two NO! Angel de Oro thought he had him, can't believe he didn't. Oro looks to Ultimo Guerrero, who is – digging a grave? I'm not sure. He's frustrated, I can tell that. Corner whip, reversed, Pólvora charges in, Angel de Oro plants him on the top rope and slaps him. Oro going up, this is a bad part of town. Sure enough, Pólvora jabs him, scoops him up on his shoulder and stands up – Super Pólvora Driver! Pólvora hooks a leg and points one finger in the air – one two th-NO! No one can believe it. Angel de Oro crucifix roll one two NO! That's how the Goto match ended, almost ended this one. Crowd totally behind Pólvora. Pretty sure the idea of Angel de Oro surviving that move was to get him over, but the crowd – even the rowdy técnico section - wants Pólvora to find a way to win this. I'm not sure what he has left. Pólvora shoulderblock, off the ropes, Angel de Oro tries a casadora, Pólvora shoves him off, Pólvora casadora works, into the mecedora! Crowd thinks this is it, but Pólvora looses the right arm. Pólvora can't get it back, so he just yanks Angel de Oro's arm with both of his! That looks actually more painful. Oro thinking about giving – but he breaks the other wristlock in time. Shocker is excitedly chatting with Blue Panther about that one. Crowd loves them some Pólvora. Panther yelling instructions. Pólvora smacks Angel de Oro in the head as they both get up, knocking him into the corner. Corner whip, Angel de Oro sits on the top rope. Pólvora is amazingly frustrated over this, the nerve of this Angel de Oro. Pólvora demands the fight down there on the ground, Angel de Oro challenges him to come up. Pólvora rushed up again, double jab by Angel de Oro, front superplex again, Angel de Oro breaks free and rolls far backwards, Angel de Oro leads, and Pólvora just gets there with a counter dropkick. That was very close to not being close enough. Pólvora puts on the leg lock, but Angel de Oro cradles him – one two NO! Crowd loud for Pólvora. Now I'm really out of ideas., he's tried everything. Pólvora slams Angel de Oro and looks at the crowd. No, don't go up. Crowd seems to have the same thought. He's in the opposite corner of Panther, so there's not much he has to say in it. Up top – frog splash connects! One two NO! Crowd seems to be deflated a bit there, but rallies. Pólvora gathers himself. Chop for Angel de Oro. Whip, Angel de Oro flips to the apron, Pólvora rushes, kick in the ropes get caught for a third time (!) Angel de Oro superkicks him away, outside in moonsault eats knees. Averno misses a clothesline on Máscara, Mascara quebradora con giro and gos for the mask – but Tirantes shoves him away and raises Averno's arm – DQ, because Mascara hit Tirantes (because Averno ran in to him.)
Mascara and Sombra corner Tirantes, but only threaten the violence. Mascara relents, because he rather charge at Averno and pound him some more. Rudos pull Mascara to the ropes, and Averno gets in a cheap shot. Sombra tries to help, but the rudos grab him, and Averno puts Mascara on the top rope to go after this mask. Replays.
CMLL Informa: La Mascara vs Averno at Juicio Final. Prices hyped.
Brazo Family vignette.
2: Mascara is rolling in pain in front of the announce desk. Texano is killing time by nawing on Máximo's forehead. Did Averno go get another mask, and that's why we're stalling here? He's back, anyway, and La Mascara quickly rushes him. The rudos get a hold of him and kick him questionably low. Rudos in no hurry. Corner clothesline for Sombra, and Averno hangs him in the Tree of Woe. Máximo crotched around Sombra's head. Mascara back in again, again just getting his hands on Averno but not much more before the others get involved. Mascara held, and Averno pulls up and down by his eye holes. La Mascara on the ropes for Terrible to bite his head. Corner charges for Máximo. Triple boot sends him out, and the rudos do a triple fake dive pose. Terrible and Texano celebrate – only for Sombra to missile dropkick them from behind. Averno misses a senton, and La Mascara in quick with a headscissors. Averno out, La Mascara out with a tope. Averno stumbles away quickly. Sombra gets Texano with a headscissors, Máximo kisses Terrible, rudos freak out, Máximo boos Sombra into an odd looking dropkick both. Averno misses a clothesline, Máscara shoulderblock, springboard, casadora shrugged off, La Máscara tope toe hold, casita, one …. two, mascara lets go to yell at Tirantes. Tirantes is scare, even before La Mascara puts him in a choke hold. La Mascara pulls the punch back, holds it, and Averno fouls him. Low blow inside cradle, with Tirantes knocking Máscara over and speed counting – one two three.
Averno taunts La Mascara. La Mascara says he's going to win, and points out he's accepted the match. Averno goes after Mascara again, ripping off his mask as the other four fight. Replays
