Match 1: Astro Boy & Bengala vs Disturbio & Semental
Arena Mexico, 05/10/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:56
Rating: good for an opener
Notes: No entrances. Show introduction was truncated too. Ref is Rodolfo Ruiz.

1: Semental and Astro Boy start on the mat, though there's the world's most obvious clip in here. Astro Boy has a slightly new look. Semental is quick, or his fringe makes him look quick, I'm not sure. They don't last long. Disturbio comes in yelling, versus Bengala. Bengala has a couple of stylish moves in here, as benefiting a hep cat with bell bottoms. Jumping snap mare sends Disturbio out. Semental and Astro Boy back in, Astro Boy decline the handshake for some ropes running avoidance, but he pulls up for no reason and Semental drops him with a standing tornillo plancha. That was sweet. Whip, Astro Boy grabs the ropes and kicks off Semental to flip to the ramp. Semental charges, gets forearmed away – CLIP. Obviously cutting a blown spot there. Bengala is putting Disturbio in a submission (maybe a Balanza?) as they return, with Astro Boy in the ring and Semental nowhere to be seen. And here's where my power went out (hooray for laptops.) There's a five hour break between sentences. I'm picking back up, though Semental is not – he's counted out on the outside. They cut away before we see twenty.

2: Astro Boy poses after his running front flip, and Semental shoulderblocks him right out of the ring. Semental taunts Bengala while Astro Boy gets back up. Swing kick for Disturbio, swing kick for Astro Boy, springboard plancha on Semental one two no. Astro Boy waved by, back spinning headscissors and around and around and around and into an armdrag! Four rotations! Astro Boy does a handstand flip and poses, and the crowd boos. Astro Boy calls in Disturbio, he won't come in. Semental back in, Astro Boys slaps him one good, Semental leaves and Disturbio still won't come in. Bengala tags in so we can get this going. Quebradora con giro for the young rudo. Bengala turns and yells at Disturbio, then turns and gets dropped by a Semental springboard kick. Pinfall there. Now the rudos have no problem fighting Astro Boy. Disturbio shows off a hammerlock into a side backbreaker. Rudo fans already singing before the three count.

3: Beatdown. Announcer disputes the “boy” portion of Astro Boy – he may have a point there. Not He's a bit old, could use a new name! Spinebuster by Disturbio, springboard legdrop by Semental on Astro Boy. Nice. Whip, double boot. Bengala grabbing his chest and not wanting back in, but eventually he figures out he might as well. Rudos kick him down. Corner whip, Disturbio charges, Bengala moves, Disturbio hits the corner but tumbles out. Semental does stop Bengala with a quebradora, but Astro Boy comes in with a top rope headscissors. Astro Boy off the ropes, waved by, back with a – well, that tilt-a-whirl went nowhere. Everyone seems confused for a second, Astro Boy runs again, double rotation headscissors, standing into a backcracker. One two three.

Disturbio backcracker to Astro Boy! Everyone has a good laugh at that pinfall.

It's up to Bengala, but Bengala seems reluctant. Bengala in, springboard into a casadora into a cradle, into a sort of Indian Deathlock with facelock. Veteran hold there, and it gets it done. Quick to the break.

Match 2: Dalys la Caribeña, Estrella Mágica, Luna Mágica vs Estrellita, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
Arena Mexico, 05/10/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 12:09
Rating: bleh
Notes: Estrella! Rey Bucanero has joined the announcers for the women's match, of course.

1: Estrella and Tiffany starts, with a battle over a cross armbreaker before a noticeable clip. Tiffany does a fine job making Estrellita look good here, though E. Mágica still gets lost a couple times. Tiffany makes her pay the second time, throwing Estrellita by her hair. That's how their exchange ends. Dalis and Estrellita are next. Estrellita is wearing a very red outfit. They exchange holds on the mat and yell a bunch. Estrellita makes a lout of pained faces. Luna, who's back to her pre-haircut hair style, is kicked around by Sugheit. Sugheit just watches Luna does her cartwheel, so she can kick her hard. Luna is caught in the ropes on a corner whip, and Sugheit pulls her in a backbreaker, which starts the beatdown. Somehow. No clear show out of Sugheit's submission. Estrellita's finish looks very bad.

2: Sugheit and the ring girl have a face off. Tiffany tries to talk some sense into Sugheit, but it's not happening. Sugheit demands the card so she can work with it and gets booed immediately. Sugheit takes out her anger on Luna. Estrella is just not good. Estrellita takes the triple snap kick. Triple faceslam for Dalys, and a camel clutch/kick to the face combination. Rudas slap and kick Luna in the backside. She takes corner charges, including Tiffany's corner sit. Luna set on the top rope, but when Tiffany goes to pull her off for her finish, Luna pulls Tiffany down by her hair. Plancha on Estrellita, cradle on Tiffany, Dalis planchas Estrellita for another fall, and Estrellita cradles Sugheit so late that the ref doesn't bother to count.

3: Estrella Magic and Estrellita work together, just to increase my chances of typos. It's high enough as it is. They're quick, Dalis and Tiffany features as Dalis run the corner armdrag and Dalis getting kicked when she thought about diving. Really just thought about it, and Sugheit stopped that thought. Sugheit does a find job of getting over for armdrag and shows off some nice Muto elbow drops. Rudos bumble, Estrella barely pulls of a headscissors on Estrella, Dalis and Estrella do sillas to the floor and – local break. Ah, it'd gone so well. We miss the finish, but that's probably ok. Replays show Sugheit just finished Luna Mágica with a Michinoku Driver for the win.

Match 3: Diamante, Fuego, Rey Cometa vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Virus
Arena Mexico, 05/10/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 12:11
Rating: okay
Notes: Ref is Rodolfo Ruiz.

1: Diamante and Hooligan start, but there's another noticeable clip here. I wonder if there's naughty things being clipped out, since that was the problem originally (and it's got to be cheaper than blurring; more annoying.) Rey Cometa thinks he's having a dramatic faceoff with Dr. X, but then realizes Dr. X is staring at Fuego and tags him instead. Cometa wants to no part of that. Clips here again until we get back to Cometa and Virus. They battle for control on the mat, not getting far. Crowd gets restless (and loud) as Cometa tries his hand at various leg holds. Rey Cometa flips out an armbar into an armdrag, but Virus kills him with a clothesline. His partners are big fans. Cometa rolls out of another armbar into an armdrag, and Virus doesn't try his luck again. Tags to Dr. X and Fuego, and Dr. X wants out again. He bails, and Hooligan gets back in. Fuego sort of flips thru him off a springboard, then gets run over by Hooligan's shoulderblock. Fuego flips out to escape a corner charge, and sends Hooligan out with a casadora armdrag. Dr. X tries to surprise him, Fuego sees him coming, Dr. X pauses, then rushes with a boot. Chop. Corner whip, Fuego reverse, Dr. X flips to the apron and points to his head, Fuego dropkicks him off. Dive? - no, Hooligan trips up Fuego, and Virus adds a dropkick to the head. Cometa in with a plancha, dropkick for Virus, and Diamante directs him to drop Virus right in front of the ropes. Diamante to the rope, balancing, springboard 450 splash. Toyota roll on Hooligan one two three.

2: Dr. X runs up the stage to avoid Fuego. Virus steps in to face Fuego, gets into a quick fight, decides to leave. Dr. X in again, and Dr. X can just walk right in and kick Fuego a lot. Dr. X off the ropes, Fuego mambos under the clothesline, Dr. X kicks Fuego while he's bent over. About time someone did that. Beatdown from there. Hooligan decks both Diamante and Cometa nicely. Dr. X goes after Fuego’s mask a lot while the other two rudos work over the other two técnicos. Cometa is set up for the Hooligan guillotine senton con giro, but no pin. Diamante jumps Hooligan while he’s celebrated, but Dr. X returned in time to make the save. Backdrop for Diamante, and a legdrop. No pin there. Fuego in and trying to kick Dr. X, but Dr. X catches it and Hooligan smacks Fuego. Fuego springboard backflips over a Hooligan and Virus on a whip, ducks a double clothesline and gets Dr. X with a springboard armdrag. Another rudos boot him out, and chaos breaks out with the other four. Técnicos dropkick out rudos, Cometa tells Diamante to go first – tope con giro on Virus, tornillo on Hooligan. Announcers love Rey Cometa's tornillo. Crowd is loud for Fuego and Dr. X in again. Fuego waves Dr. X into the corner, wait for him to come back, and backdrops him. Fuego sets up La Flashina (!!!!) but Dr. X shrugs him off. Foul, direct kick, and the ref saw that the whole way. Rey Bucanero is so sad Dr. X lost.

Match 4: Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente vs Felino, Mephisto, Negro Casas
Arena Mexico, 05/10/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos
Match Time: 10:29
Rating: okay
Notes: Like everything else, joined as the match starts. Ref is Tigre Hispano. Zacarias is with the rudos. We're shown a new TRT banner – they're not in this match, but Bucanero would like to talk about it.

1: Negro and Valiente battle over armbars, until Negro just traps Valiente and he can't find a way out. Negro lets up, and Valiente gets in a jumping snap mare to send him away and ends this exchange. Angel de Oro and Mephisto are next, and are clipped to the quick pinfall part near the end. Fantasma and Felino in. Crowd happy to see Felino. Fantasma quickly headscissors Felino out, but Zacarias attacks him from behind and then struts. Fantasma kicks the parrot. Rudos come into attack Fantasma for his animal abuse, but it backfires quickly, and the rudos are all sent out. Valiente and Angel de Oro in – and out, double tope. Felino back in, Fantasma runs over him a couple times, clothesline the next, and laid out with a speed dropkick to chest. Felino runs around, puts on an inverted figure four, and gets the submission. Easy.

2: Rudos in control. Valiente kips up and out from a corner charge, but Felino runs him over with a clothesline. Various kicks to the face. Big strange clip in the middle of beating on Fantasma, direct to Fantasma toping Mephisto. That's odd. Técnicos quickly win.

3: Fantasma and Negro start out, briefly before a superkick. Mephisto and Valiente quickly leads to a quebradora con giro. Virus also get in a double jump headscissors to send Mephisto fleeing up the ramp. Negro goes for the high intensity chop fight with Angel de Oro, lights up the younger luchador with kicks, but misses a clothesline and is superkicked in the corner. Negro sits in the corner waiting to get hit, Angel de Oro waits for Negro to come back at him, Negro gives up and tosses himself out. Felino ambushed Angel de Oro, and Mephisto helps – mostly by observing while Felino chops Angel hoard. Corner whip, Angel de Oro barely gets the foot on a kick, and the headscissors/armdrag part seems to include a phantom armdrag. The three get back up, and they’re completely lost with what spot they’re supposed to be doing. Looks like a double clothesline Angel de Oro is supposed to duck under, but he forgot. They figure it out, but Oro just gets worse from there until he topes Felino. Fantasma sends out Mephisto with a flying armdrag and exchanged kicks with Negro. Negro flips him to the apron, Fantasma swing kicks Negro, runs up the ramp, runs all the way back in and lands the Phantom Lariat. No pin. Corner whip, time killing hold, Valiente in to cut off Mephisto with a plancha. Mephisto up and waving a charging Valiente into Fantasma to break up that pin. Devil’s Wings there, half crab over there. Curse of Fantasma!

Peste Negra dance after the match, then are crazy with Karla backstage. She's offended they believe she's a ruda. Karla also talks to Valiente & Angel de Oro – no Fantasma!

Match 5: Black Warrior, Blue Panther ©, Strong Man vs Atlantis ©, Héctor Garza, Mr. Niebla
Arena Mexico, 05/10/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:29
Rating: bleh
Notes: Entrances. Strong Man breaks the chain off his neck. He goes thru a lot of those. Ref is Maya.

1: Clip right off the start. Atlantis & Panther have a decent length mat battle before everyone else decides to get involved. Niebla and Warrior kill time, then start in the ring, and that's when the local break comes in. Garza and Strong Man are in when they're done. Garza at least undresses in the first fall, throwing his banana yellow pants in Strong Man's face to start the beatdown. Strong Man isn't affected by shots for a while, and Warrior's not in much of a hurry to sell at first.

2: Rudos work over Panther, though Garza still gets in his near trunks pull. Clip to Strong Man taking corner charges. Strong Man reverses the corner whip, clotheslines Garza and Niebla and watches Warrior cradle Atlantis for the pin. And he's the captain, good to know.

3: Panther looks spry with Garza, and Garza gets an opportunity to flirt with the front row. Niebla catches his spit. Local break while Strong Man is in. Return while Warrior is in. Warrior does not bother to do his tope in this match, just a pescado on Niebla. Strong Man takes care of the other two and tries to finish Garza, but Atlantis break it up and both técnicos dropkick Strong Man out. Panther knocks Garza out of the ring, ref looks at Garza, Atlantis fouls Panther, and covers for the win.
