New open – one that's notable not show or network specific.

Match 1: Hijo del Fantasma ©, Sangre Azteca, Valiente vs Misterioso Jr. ©, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 04/29/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:20
Rating: fine
Notes: New graphic package too. Valiente is wearing his open mouth mask – I always forget Valiente has a mouth. Mima is with Okumura, of course. Sangre confronts Misterioso on the stage, but Misterioso talks him into backing to the ring. Ref is Pompin.

1: Announcers are JCR, JCC and Bucanero! Pairs are Valiente/Okumura, Sangre/Misterioso, Vangelis/Fantasma. Misterioso crumples Sangre with one slap and manages to taunt both other técnicos in as a follow up. Very chop heavy exchange. JCR says hi to the US multiple times during this – where is this airing? Sangre finally gets in his first low blow dropkick, but Vangelis elbows him out before he can do anymore. Fantasma doesn’t last long in the ring, Misterioso pulling down the ropes so Fantasma can tumble out, and so Vangelis can land his the spear out on the ramp. Rudo quickly wrap it up in the ring.

2: Sangre Azteca is isolated in the ring, and victim to Misterioso's nose slap. Wheelbarrow faceslam for Valiente. Rudos rip the shirt right off of Fantasma and slap him. Sangre Azteca sidesteps a Misterioso corner charge, and the rudo goes flying out of the ring. Fantasma hurries up the ramp as the other four fight. Valiente goes out with a corner moonsault onto Misterioso, and Fantasma comes in with the ghost lariat on Okumura. Cover, Vangelis with the worst elbow to break up the pin, Fantasma moves, then holds both pairs of legs up for Sangre Azteca's double low blow dropkick. Pins for the finish.

3: Misterioso takes one Sangre slap to the back and runs. Sangre gives Vangelis a monkey flip, must be odd to be on the other side of one. Sangre debuts a weird spinning snap over the top rope; that still needs work. Top rope flying headscissors sends Vangelis out. Sangre poses short of the dive, and Misterioso rushes in to – clap when spotted. And bail. Okumura & Fantasma have a pose off. Fantasma spanks Okumura, metaphorically and otherwise. Misterioso and Fantasma have a chop fight, and Misterioso takes a monkey flip. Misterioso walks out, but Sangre chases after him again. Misterioso begs off, so Sangre throws him back in and smacks him around. Quebradora con giro, out goes Misterioso again. Valiente flips in,and Vangelis drops him with a back elbow. Valiente evades on the run for a while and headscissors Valiente out. Backdrop for Okumura. Okumura flips Valiente to the ramp, and tries to hiptoss him back in, but Valiente gets him with an armdrag anyway. Misterioso drops Valiente with a back elbow and slaps him down. Corner whip, reverses, Valiente flipped to the top rope and flipping back off. Sunset flip, Misterioso rolls thru, Valiente covers up, and Misterioso steps behind to kick him in the back. Misterioso is proud of himself. Corner whip, reversed, Misterioso is sent into Sangre, who plants Misterioso on the top rope. Bad idea! Okumura gets by Valiente and shoves Sangre into position. Valiente runs out the other corner and slaps Okumura, but Okumura stops him with a shot too. Vangelis must grab Fantasma somewhere in here, because all the rudos hit their moves for the triple pin.

Match 2: Último Guerrero vs Hirooki Goto for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship
Arena Mexico, 04/29/2011

  1. Goto cross legged cradle (2:50)

  2. Ultimo Guerrero Castigo Guerrero (1:23)
  3. Ultimo Guerrero crucifix (11:03)

Winner: Ultimo Guerrero
Match Time: 15:16
Rating: great!
Notes: Mima is back out with Goto. UG raises the belt high in the air on the stage. UG has a red belt I can't identify – maybe it's the UWE tag title? No weights announces. Okumura and Misterioso are the seconds. Babe Richard is the referee. The belt is very shiny. Looks like Rambo is the commissioner on hand.

1: Lockup. Ultimo Guerrero waistlock, Goto immediately out to a hammerlock. UG out into a wristlock, Goto with a top wristlock, both battling for control of the hold. Reversals lead to a Goto full nelson. Cranking it in. UG uses his leg to break free and reverse to his own. Goto stomps free and snap mares UG away. Circle. Lockup, UG backs up Goto a couple steps, falls on his back, and monkey flips Goto over. UG rolls to his knees, pinning Goto down, but Goto rolls up himself. UG headscissors from the mat shrugged off, but UG trips Goto. Goto rolled to his feet, flipped over UG's hip, and armdraggged away. Misterioso waving his towel around his head. Both slow up. UG kick caught, enziguri ducked, Goto grabs UG's leg and rolls him over, and around into a pinning position. I'd guess that's Goto's cross legged cradle. One two three. Bit of a surprise pinfall.

Fan” shown in the crowd looks a like one of the Japanese guys from the DragonMania shows. Misterioso and the Doctor both check on UG's left knee.

2: UG is still walking around the outside, trying to get rid of his limp, as the fall starts. Babe Richard waits to start his count. UG crawls in, still favoring his left knee. Goto gets into a chop fight, and UG strikes with one good leg. UG off the ropes, limping ducking under a Goto clothesline and landing one of his own. UG is hurting, ducking a clothesline, and dropping Goto in a spinebuster. Guerrero Submission Special, that's it already.

UG continues walking around with a limp.

3: Goto chops UG back into the corner. Lots of chops. According to JCR, the first CMLL Heavyweight Champion was Cien Caras. (It actually was Konnan, perhaps not any more!) Goto works over UG in the corner with more slaps, and kicks him while he's down. UG is being battered here, and Babe Richard checks UG to see if he can continue. Guerrero doesn't much respond at first, but then nods his head and says something. Goto backs up, charges, and his kick is caught. UG spins him and clotheslines him. One two NO. UG up and limping. Weak kick to Goto, and Goto fires back with his huge clothesline, one two NO. Goto a bit annoyed but firing up. Stomps to UG, who can't get up. Goto pulls him up a bit, backs him in the corner, and whips him. Corner whip, UG limps while running, Goto charges, UG corner sunset flip one two th-NO. Misterioso can't believe that was only 2.5. Goto kicks UG in the head and he tries to get up. UG tries to block but he can't. He finally blocks the fourth one, turning into a powerbomb one two th-NO. Goto kicking out at the very last instant here. Goto looking in worse shape now. UG but limping. Crowd behind him – crowd will behind the right guy when he faces a foreigner! Corner whip, reversed, Goto yells and charges in, but UG moves and Goto's wheel kick hits the corner. Goto rolls to the apron, Okumura starts to check on him, then flees because Guerrero is running at him – baseball slide dropkick sends Goto to the floor. UG climbing up carefully and leaping off quickly - plancha to the floor! Replay of that as both recover. UG limps back to the ring. Goto struggles in, but beats the count. Goto charges UG, but is tripped in the corner. UG, still limping, still runs, senton de la muerte! Goto dragged out from the corner one two NO. Both look tired. Bucanero has been rooting hard for UG but is nervous now. UG up first and limping around. Whip, reversed, UG limps around, Goto head down too soon, UG lifts him up – inverted Gori stretch! Goto bends up to UG's shoulders, but UG drops him on his face. One two NO. Babe Richard does this thing where he dramatically drops down to count, but doesn't count one until he has a chance to raise his arm back up and slam it down. At least once a match, I'm sure he's just counted three when he actually did two, and this was that time. I think he might have gotten JCR too. Got charges Goto, kicks is sort of deflected, Goto picks up and grabs it, UG misses an enziguri again, and Goto spins UG around for the same cradle that won the first fall one two th-NO. Crowd that was it. Okumura thought that was it. Replay of the near finish. Back live, and UG is on the top rope. Goto up to join him – front superplex! One two NO! Babe Richard switched hands on that count, that's advanced refereeing. Bucanero trying to start a Yes We Can chant, which is tough since I'm pretty sure he's on tape here. Goto sandwiches UG in the corner with a clothesline. UG set up on the top buckle. Goto yells and joins UG up top. What's his plan? Top rope 'ran is blocked – superbomb! Goto rolls on top and hooks a leg, the entire crowd counts along – one two thre-NO! UG up and slamming Goto. UG still limping as he starts to head to the corner. Misterioso is sure this is a horrible idea and tries to stop UG, but he's just not listening. Top rope senton con giro misses! Goto up and yelling. He's going up. Crowd boos the right guy! Goto top rope elbow drop! One two thr-NO. Goto waves his finger, and make a belt motion. He's got this. Crowd chanting something – it may be “si se puede” for all I know. Goto lifts UG up – vertical suplex side slam looks a whole lot better this week! One two th-NO. Goto looking a bit tired but up first. Scoop, slam, and Goto is going up one more time. Moonsault? No, UG trips him up. UG climbing up with him. Bucanero is already calling the spot, he's seen this movie, he knows how it ends – GUERRERO SPECIAL. One two th-NO!! UG is shocked (so is Bucanero), Goto hooks Guerrero’s arm with his legs and cradles him, one two NO! UG hooks crucifixes Goto, one two THREE. That was a match!

UG is still limping around, and actually falls down because he can't put weight on the leg. Bucanero still can't believe Goto kicked out of the Guerrero Special. I bet he wants Goto to teach him that trick. The champ stands back up, and Rambo puts UG's belt back on him. Misterioso gives Guerrero the ride around the ring.
