CMLL Guadalajara on Teleformula #35 (02/20/2011)
Recapped: 02/20/11

Announcers are JCR and Felino. Shocker is missing again. Felino mentions having lost his title to Gallo, so I guess this was taped first week of February.

Match 1: Shigeo Okumura ©, Virus, Yoshihashi vs Black Metal, Metal Blanco ©, Palacio Negro
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 01/11/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 15:34
Rating: better than expected!
Notes: Black Metal is using the current theme from RAW. That'll never stop being weird. Refs are Samurai and Loco. Metal and Palacio Negro have matching black and white gear, and Virus is wearing his normal white outfit.

1: Okumura/Blanco is not much. Palacio Negro is just a couple inches taller than Virus. Palacio flips all in Virus' face after rolling free from an armbar and armdragging him. Virus doesn't take too well to this, tripping him, up, tossing him down on the kip up try, and putting a knee down on his right arm. Palacio negro has to back bend to avoid being pinned. Palacio Negro tries to turn out of an armbar, but Virus easily small packages him for another quick cover. Palacio Negro earns a standoff and probably should lave, but does not. Virus knocks him down and puts on a half crab for a while. Nothing happens, Virus just stands there for a while. Virus switches submission, to one that puts Palacio in more trouble, but he doesn’t give. Zero leg trips includes Palacio doing a big jumping splash for no reason, but that does get him two. Yoshihashi and Black Metal are last, somehow, though it only lasts one headscissors. Virus clears out Black Metal, and he and Okumura take care of the other two. Blanco flips Negro to safety on a whip, and Black Metal comes in with flying armdrags to start the comeback. Black Metal does a flying out of the ring elbow drop that the camera mostly misses – that looked crazy from what we saw. Other técnicos wrap up with their big moves, and it's tough to see what they're doing from the camera angles those get too.

2: Palacio Negro flips around, much to Virus' annoyance. Backflip headscissors goes well, five bounce headscissors finishes in one piece, and then Palacio Negro back rolls over the top rope for good measure. Metal Blanco does the Astro Boy front flip over an Okumura drop down, then poses and gets hit. Springboard headscissors sends the Japanese guy out, and Blanco has to get in some flips on his fake dive. Yoshihashi fakes out Black Metal on a test of strength, cheap shotting him and annoying the crowd. Back elbow starts the beatdown, somehow. Metal Blanco gets hit questionably low. Yoshihashi finishes Palacio with a senton con giro – he has a move! Others feed Black Metal to him for an F5 (he has two moves! ) and Virus puts Metal in a nudo for the finish.

3: Announcers think Black Metal is from GDL. I guess he will be if he ever makes the national tournament. Palacio Negro tries to brawl with Virus, fails. Virus slams him on the ramps while the other rudos take care of the other técnicos. No real cohesive to the rudos here, just holding and hitting. Black Metal sidesteps a Virus charge and dropkicks Yoshihashi out, but Okumura boots him down. Black escapes a rebound hiptoss, but the rudos still kick him out. Metal Blanco planchas both of the rudos, but ducks the chop and Yoshihashi returns just in time to get it. Palacio springboards in with a frog plancha on Okumura, ducks a Virus clothesline, and flies out with a nice tope con giro on Yoshihashi. Metal dropkicks Okumura out, avoids Virus' senton, and throws a clothesline – which Virus turns into the inverted Gori Special. Referee appear to call the submission, but Virus drops Black Metal on the mat hard anyway, and Samurai counts – one two three.

Metal Blanco springboards in and headscissors Virus out. Okumura back in, both kind of look at each other trying to figure who's doing what, Blanco off the ropes, back with a 'rana, one two NO. Crowd into this. Blanco kick, small package one two no. Blanco kicks Okumura in the corner, whip, reversed, Okumura charges but no one's home. Blanco charges, Okumura flips him up, Blanco knocks Okumura down, Blanco climbs, Okumura climbs – superplex! One two three! Wow, hard win.

Match 2: Máximo, Rush ©, Toscano vs Héctor Garza, Texano Jr., Volador Jr. ©
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 01/11/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:36
Rating: eh comedy
Notes: Volador's outfit would be great if he was teaming with Camaleon and Freesbe. Garza and Fabrichius have a extended discussion with someone near the ramp. What a técnico team this is. Same refs.

1: While everyone's trying to get Fabrichius to leave, the rudos jump the técnicos. General beatdown to the finishes. Garza poses in front of the armbar for the finish.

2: I'm not paying attention, but neither is this rudo crew. Volador holds Rush for a kick for Texano. Texano kicks him promptly. Garza has to take off his shirt, put the shirt over Rush's head, turn around to stare at Toscano for oddly long among of time, then both Garza and Texano turn back and kick. Of course, they're kicking Volador, since Rush had a day and a half to switch it around. Texano and Hector are just shocked. Rush rushes past them to tope Volador in the second row. Toscano and Máximo do the many splashes spot, but they're not Porky, and Máximo faints into the mat when Garza and Texano just sit up. Toscano still gets Texano on the next pass, and Máximo pulls Garza into a cradle when he reaches down to pick him up.

Volador is trapped in the ring for a kiss, but frees himself just in time.

3: Rush's showcase features the rudos having a dramatic over selling contest. Texano wins. Toscano, who's looking more jacked lately, still surprisingly has the agility to run up the ropes for an armdrag. Máximo is last, much to Hector's surprise and displeasure. Rudos are more than happy to throw Garza to the wolf. Garza steps in, slaps Máximo, and leaves. Máximo offers Volador a handshake, and spends some time assuring him that there's no funny business to be had. Volador has to be convinced, but accepts. Máximo gets a hug, and then a feel – Volador not happy with that part. Double springboard butt bump hits, Spinning armdrag sends Volador out, and Garza back in. Máximo likes being hit when it comes from Garza and lands in the right area. Texano comes in to help, is no help. Kick to the head, check. Block everything, kiss, check. Crowd goes nuts for that. Garza goes out, and Toscano pescados – right into Garza's anti dive kick. Maximo's tope connects on Texano, who doesn't appear to really be ready for it. Rush and Volador left in, Rush misses a dropkick, Rush and Volador seem to confuse themselves (or me?) on the reversal spots, Rush jumps for a 'rana and Volador just fouls him. Volador tries for a pin despite both ref seeing he foul and calling for the DQ. Samurai actually counts, I guess just to be confusing.
