CMLL Guadalajara on Teleformula #20 (11/07/2010)
Recapped: 11/09/10

Big news: announcers have new red shirts! Actual polo shirt for Bucanero! Also, I've figured out what time this show is actually on now, which is nice. Of course, Rey has to go wrestle the main event, but it's good while it lasts.

Match 1: Astral, Mascarita Dorada ©, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito ©

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:20
Rating: good! Better than the one on 52MX.
Notes: Pequeño Olímpico needs evil music! Meager attendance for this show, but this is the opener. Pequeño Warrior waits to confront Dorada at the end of the ramp, but Dorada talks him back in to the ring without incident. Refs are Loco Estrada and Bestia Negra.

1: It's so weird watching this show in decent video quality. I'm really thrown. One on ones go Astral/Olímpico, Dragoncito/Pierrothito, Dorada/Warrior, which also is the order of quality. Bucanero marks out for Dorada's armdrag into arm/leg rollup. Nice big suplex gets the crowd's approval. Warrior manages to pick up Dorada with one arm, but Dorada is unconcerned, easily taking Warrior back down. Warrior picks up Dorada again, and armdrags out of it. Two rotation headscissors into an armdrag sends Warrior out. Olímpico boots Dorada, Astral planchas Warrior, Olímpico enziguri Astral out on the run, and Pierrothito lands his Silver King dive. Dropkick sends Ultimo Dragoncito out, and Olímpico crushes him with a plancha. Dragoncito down and grabbing his head – he got steamrolled there. Dorada and Warrior in, Dorada top rope headscissors, fireman's carry drop, and running across Warrior to the top rope. Moonsault eats boots! Warrior covers, One two three.

2: Beatdown. Flying sit does a lot better for Pierrothito then it did with Euforia. Double faceslam for Dragoncito. Pierrothito holds Dorada face up on his shoulder and walks to the ropes. Mini Human Guillotine slingshots in to legdrop Dorada, flipping him into Warrior's upraised boots. That was cool. Astral is run into kicks and slapped around. Ultimo Dragoncito turns slightly to cause Olímpico spear the post on a charge. Remaining rudos rammed into each other. Dragoncito gets Pierrothito with a headscissors, and leads Warrior into a flying armdrag from Astral. Astral sets up for a dive, then takes a detour for a run up the corner plancha on Warrior. Dorada pauses Olímpico with a chop, then bowls him over with a tope rope con giro.

3: Warrior breaks out the stop sign with Dragoncito, who looks more like mini Durango Kid with his all black outfit. That's probably not a total coincidence. Those two don’t' last long. Astral tries to do a springboard front flip into a front handstand flip, and the first part goes a lot better than the second part. After Astral is doing driving his head into the mat, he and Pierrothito have a chop fight. Astral looks a lot better with his flip off Pierrothito and a quebradora ends that exchange. Dorada/Olímpico includes a Dorada inverted tope and a springboard headscissors. Olímpico is trapped in the ropes and kicked free, but Pierrothito takes the minis head off with a boot. Dorada ducks a clothesline and comes back with a spinning armdrag and crazy spinning headscissors. Dorada flips to the apron, kicks Pierrothito away, and lands on him with an Asai moonsault. Other four all in, técnicos quickly sends the rudos out. Dragoncito gets Olímpico and the second row with the tope con giro of death, while Astral follows with a tope on Warrior. Captains back in, Dorada gets Pierrothito with a headscissors and slaps him around some. Dorada yanks Pierrothito’s mask around to taunt him more, then dizzies him with a spinning armscissors into a headscissors into a cradle that doesn’t quite come off, so Dorada just grabs a leg and sits down for the pin. Other técnicos help out covering, and that's three.

Match 2: Brazo de Plata, Hijo del Fantasma, Místico © vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero ©
Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 10/12/2010

  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:27
Rating: OK, leaning towards good.
Notes: I really needed a vignette where Bucanero explains he left the Guerreros so he could wear more pirate hats. Místico, who says he's an Club America fan, wears an Atlas jersey to the ring. I dunno. Same ref here. No Perico.

1: Ultimo Guerrero and Porky start off with a chain wrestling battle. Ultimo Guerrero is actually able to lift Porky off his feet and drop him on his stomach, which seems implausible. Porky armdrags Guerrero and does some fancy posing, then taps UG on the shoulder. Ultimo knocks the arm away and slaps him in the face. Cue the water works. Fantasma fires him up, and Místico gives Porky a hug. Bucanero and Fantasma pick up on the mat, putting for some effort and doing some neat stuff. Fantasma tries to get a headscissors from the mat, but Bucanero walks it forward to turn it directly into a crab. Bucanero goes to a half crab, goes to a STF, goes to a crossface, and finishes with a crucifix roll up for a one count. Nice array of holds, too bad none of them work. Fantasma grabs onto Bucanero’s back and holds on as Rey gets to his feet. Fantasma tries a half nelson, then slips out to an inside cradle for two. If they could actually ends falls without everyone coming in, I would believe that one could end on that move. Atlantis and Místico in next, Atlantis wastes no time to mess with Atlantis. Místico shows off his jersey. Msitico off the ropes, but heading towards Bucanero. Rey slaps him and jumps in for his slingshot frontcracker. Bucanero and Guerrero each grab a side and rip up Místico’s nice new free shirt. Místico battles to keep his shirt, which seems to have miraculously been ripped only in the front and right down the middle, as if it was a Perro Aguayo Jr. type jacket. Rudos take control in of the ring in the meantime. Bucanero handles the flying sit on Porky. Fantamsa’s whipped in the corner for an Atlantis clothesline, a Bucanero rolling low blow dropkick, and UG Senton de la Muerte. Mistico's held on the ramp for another flying sit. This is how it things went bad last time, but Rey and UG manage to make it work a little better. They have some experience with that. Técnicos end up in the middle of the ring for the triple Guerrero submission.

2: Rudos still in control. They get together for the old catapult hold/Bucanero flying senton spot. While the upper area is empty (as always), the lower bowl is pretty full. Maybe a clip here? Fantasma slides out under a clothesline, and Místico comes back in with a springboard headscissors. Porky squashes all three rudos with his (less) ample midsection, and Fantasma loudly kicks Bucanero. Everyone stands around a bit, as if they’ve lost track of what's going to happen there, and the técnicos are all too tired to actually do something. Místico tells Atlantis to go at him, Atlantis throws a dropkick, Místico moves, up and over roll on UG while Fantasma gets Atlantis with a casadora roll on Atlantis. Bucanero tries a sunset flip on Porky and pays the price.

3: Bucanero tries climbing over the crowd to escape from Místico, which includes climbing on top of some women. Odd how that works. Porky and UG sumo charge, and Porky still wants that. However, UG is able to knock Porky clear out of the ring on a running shoulderblock, which seems to stun them both. Místico encourages his friend, who catches a UG punch, climbs to the rope, and comes off with an armdrag on UG and a headscissors on Bucanero. Atlantis grabs Porky, but ends up taking chops from the other two. Porky off the ropes, Bucanero and Guerrero drop down too soon and get flattened. Porky poses. Fantasma and UG in next, Fantasma flipped out by a shoulderblock. Corner whip, UG misses on the charge, Fantasma charges himself, UG puts him on top, but Fantasma kicks him and comes with a headscissors. Armdrags for Atlantis, and dropkick sends him out. Bucanero in, and grabbing Fantasma. Triple backbreaker/elbow driver combo. Taunt! Bucanero misses a follow up clothesline and Fantasma slides him on his chest out. Fantasma runs – tope, Bucanero barely catching him while fleeing people screen the camera. Clip? Fantasma is back in awful quick, though just to dance. Tags to Místico and Atlantis. Místico off the ropes, over, waved by, flipping pass, clothesline ducks, Místico back with a headscissors, Atlantis starts to say in and then crawls out. Bucanero in, Místico has a clothesline, Bucanero back with a big spinning headscissors of his own! Bucanero is fired up – then really dizzy from his spinning! Rey nearly falls down, but the ropes keep him up. Bucanero listens for chants that aren’t coming, too bad. Bucanero grabs Místico, but kips up, kicks Bucanero, jumps up the rope and comes off with a nice spinning twisting spinning armdrag got send Bucanero out. That looked great. Guerrero surprises Místico with a big shoulderblock to knock him clean out, then poses on the middle rope. Replay of Mistico's high spot. Místico slowly crawls back to the ring, then jump to his feet, blocks UG's punch and swing kicks him away. Springboard headscissors, running twisting headiscsosrs, off the ropes, and a slingshot headscissors to the floor, landing on his feet. Místico poses, proud of that one. I'm proud I can sort of keep up. Crowd reaction is mixed, but far more positive than in DF. Porky in, but Atlantis and Bucanero both sidestep him. Fantasma uses a Bucanero boost to dropkick Atlantis out, and Porky belly bumps Rey out. Fantasma tope – looks like they tried to catch him but pretty much failed. Porky to the apron – plancha is caught better this week, but they still slowly fall into the crowd, and everyone gets dumped there. I think that’s the new comedy spot! Felino is greatly amused. Místico and UG in, UG trips up Místico and forces him down, Místico pushes off, flips to UG's shoulder, and flips him over in a 'rana, one two NO. Místico off the ropes, La Mistica. One two three.

Rey returns to give out of breath commentary on the replay of the match! That's dedication.
