CMLL Guadalajara on Teleformula #14 (09/25/2010)
Recapped: 09/30/10

Announcers this week are Rey Bucanero and Felino. Shocker really just needs to hand his blue announcing shirt over to Bucanero. Bucanero facial reacting to each técnico's name in the main event makes this show a win already. Felino challenges Gallo to a title match. You know, all they need to do is replace JCR to make this a full Peste Negra crew. Mr. Niebla on play by play?

Match 1: Gallo ©, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro vs Ephesto ©, Euforia, Vangelis

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 17:36
Rating: OK, but not enough Palacio Negro; felt like they just plugged the non-Gallo locals into the usual CMLL spots.
Notes: Palacio Negro's music is “Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)” by the Hollies. I don't know who picks the music here but they are amazing. Does Palacio Negro work for the FBI? Metal Blanco has Konnan's music and also his title belt. Gallo's music starts off with rooster noises and clucking. He's got his belt as well. The refs are the two referees.

1: Gallo and Vangelis start, and compare reactions. They are different, yes. Chain wrestling is slow and mostly ineffective. JCR has time to talk about both their histories with the light heavyweight title. Gallo ends up with a headscissors, and Ephesto boots him down. Metal Blanco with a top rope armdrag on him, Euforia boots Blanco, Negro gets Euforia with a springboard headscissors. Palacio runs the ropes, does a roll and adds a backflip over the top rope to the floor. Doesn't hit anyone, which means there’s three rudos waiting there to hit him and stomp him down into the crowd. Beatdown. Euforia brings Blanco back in to drop an elbow on him. Vangelis clothesline Palacio Negro. Euforia slam Gallo on the stage. Rudos start to work together after a little bit of individual stuff. Corner clotheslines for Gallo, then the side backbreaker/legdrop combo on him to finish. Rudos are unaware Gallo is captain, or just don’t care until after they’ve thrown Blanco out of the ring and onto the ramp. Palacio Negro gets thrown on the ramp, thru the ropes, too.

2: Rudos still in control. Triple boot to Palacio Negro. Kick to Gallo's leg. Lots of hitting, not many moves. Crowd is loud with a chant I can't make out. Gallo escapes a double hiptoss, Euforia and Vangelis chop their partner but manage to boot down Gallo. Other técnicos come in with a springboard headscissors, and Gallo topes Ephesto – completely missed by the cameras. Palacio drops Euforia for a Metal Blanco 450 splash, which looks good, for the pin. They barely catch Palacio Negro’s double jump rope flip moonsault on Vangelis to end the fall.

3: Metal Blanco showcase. Rope flip armdrag on Euforia, bodyscissors armdrag, rebound armdrag, slow springboard headscissors, and a faked out dive.. Gallo and Euforia in, Gallo immediately hammered on a clothesline. Crowd loud chanting something for Gallo. Euforia misses a corner charge, takes a headscissors to the floor. Vangelis in, and Gallo gets him with a bad looking headscissors. Crowd boos. Euforia on and slapping Gallo. They slap fight, with Gallo getting the worst of it. Ephesto off the ropes, into a hiptoss, and taking a rebound hiptoss instead. Rooster dance? Palacio Negro in, but all the rudos are on break. Finally, Vangelis comes in. Handshake? Palacio Negro asks some fans what they think – they seem against the idea, so he refuses. Off the ropes, over, waved by for a flipping run. Leapfrog, backflip over Vangelis’ back, under a clothesline, and back with a strange looking headscissors, Vangelis rolling out right into the cameraman. While the production is slow to switch a usable angle, Euforia boots Palacio Negro down. Vangelis comes back in to help, and by help, I mean accidentally chop his partner. Vangelis boots Palacio Negro down, but Palacio flips him to the apron and moves of the way of a Palacio Negro dropkick. Metal Blanco boosted for a headscissors, but never really gets it. This is not going well. Técnicos tease dives, jump to the apron, and do Asai moonsaults from there. Ephesto and Gallo in. Ephesto knocks down Gallo with a shoulderblock, off the ropes, and Gallo catches Ephesto with two quebradora con giros. Gallo shoved in the corner, kip up, but Ephesto fouls punches him. JCR yells about how clear a foul that was, and both his (rudo) announcing partners disagree.

Rudos walk off acting like they won.

Match 2: Hijo del Fantasma, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. ©, Valiente vs Atlantis ©, Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr.

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:45
Rating: crowd approved
Notes: Rayo has his WWA title.

1: Rayo wants Atlantis right away, and slowly chases him outside. Referee Loco gets in the middle of the two, and gets shoved down by Rayo by accident. Rudos want the fall for that, but they're not getting it. Rayo's mask is really shinny. Rudos are all too scared of Rayo's matador touch to fight him, and Atlantis uses an edecan as a human shield. Dragon Rojo and Hijo del Fantasma have a couple starts at actually wrestling, but they're broken up by everyone else getting involved. Rayo finally gets his hands on Atlantis for a moment and even fights the other rudos off with slap, but the rudos overwhelm him, throws him into the side o the ramp and stomp him into the ground. Beatdown from there to finish the fall. Averno reversed a sunset flip to set up the dropkick, but Valiente getting pinned by a dropkick is something.

2: Rayo makes a comeback by easily ducking a double clothesline and slapping Atlantis down. He tries a double clothesline of his own, only connecting with Dragon Rojo. Averno has to duck, then hunch over and wait for Fantasma to show up with his flying DDT. Rayo throws Atlantis into the front row as his partners get submission wins in the ring. They miss most of them the first time, but have actual replays of them.

3: Atlantis pilfers a drink from a vendor’s bin, but we don’t' get to see what he does it with it. Atlantis decides to hang out with the edaecan instead of fighting. Averno is down on the ground, so whatever happened didn’t go well for him. Once everyone's back in the ring, it's técnicos showcase time. Fantasma looks better than eh has recently. Valiente mostly matches up with Averno and that mostly goes well, though no huge jaw dropping bits. Atlantis and Rayo have a slap based fight. Rayo is slow but smooth with what he does, and seems to be in a good mood. Averno is faked out of the ring and Dragon Rojo is dropped to the floor – both take topes from the lesser técnicos. That leaves Rayo and Atlantis. Rayo barely gets off the mat on a “jumping” inverted tope, but lands a middle rope one for the pinfall.

Atlantis immediately walks to the back and nothing more happens.
