Match 1: Diamante ©, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkangel de la Muerte ©, Loco Max, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 07/16/2010
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 4:41
Rating: fun but didn’t last long
Notes: Tuareg enter as a group. Tiger Hispano & Babe Richard are the referees.
1: Abbreviated warm up fall. Arkangel controls Pegasso on the mat, Pegasso flips his way in charge, quickly sending Ark out and following with a slingshot tornillo. Other four all in and técnicos mop it up for the fall.
2: Rudos get control for a moment, but Arkangel ends up low blow elbow dropping his own partner. Técnicos hold Skándalo in the corner whit his leg spread apart, and Pegasso stomps his feet before stomping for the corner dropkick – hilarious! Theses guys have faced each other too often, they’re forgetting who’s who. 450 splash on Skándalo, one two three, he's done.
Arkangel charges in to a backdrop, but Loco dropkicks Pegasso out, then leads Pegasso into a dropkick on Diamante. Cometa's clotheslines blocked, and Loco Max finishes him with a back heel trip and an Anaconda Vice! Don't mess with Loco Max. 2 versus 2.
Diamante waits for Loco to turn around, then dropkicks him in the face. Loco out, Pegasso land on top with an Asai Moonsault. Loco Max look to be in intense pain. Diamante with a quebradora con giro on Arkangel, one two no. Huracanrana, Arkangel reverses to a sit down powerbomb, and Diamante grabs the back of his head and rolls over. Arkangel rolls him back, and covers one two no. Diamante swings, Arkangel blocks, pulls him in a front facelock, reaches behind his own back to pull Diamante's mask (!), back hell trips him, and covers him. Tigre Hispano counts, one two – and Babe Richard stops him, because he had been on the backside and saw the mask pull. That's a DQ.
Match 2: Blue Panther, Místico ©, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Jushin Lyger ©, Psicosis, Universo 2000
Arena Mexico, 07/16/2010
rudos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 20:08
Rating: just OK
Notes: Místico has Oriental's mask and makes sure everyone sees it. An amazingly weird rudo team. Psicosis comes out to the Vipers theme. Edecans try to find a way to dance to the Lyger theme. Before the match starts, Universo and Rayo brawl in the ring, spill outside, brawl there some more, and come back in. Everyone else in the ring just stares at them and goes about their business, as if to suggest “nice try, we're still not main eventing the Anniversary show with you.” Babe Richard and Tirantes are the referees.
1: Panther controls the ground game, though not completely one sided. Lyger does rush in to break a hold, just before a break.
Panther/Lyger doesn't last long before Panther is able to free himself and Místico comes in with a plancha. That's very much in Místico's favor, but Psicosis sneaks in a kick to the back, and the rudos rush the ring. Rayo is able to kick Universo away for a bit, out Universo gets on top of him and punches. Rayo covers up while Universo pounds him. Psicosis throws Místico out to the ramp and sets up for a kick as soon as Místico gets up. Místico takes his time, and Babe Richard tries to block Psicosis, but Psicosis pushes past him and waits, and waits, and Místico finally gets up and – they cut away to something else. Such bad timing. On the other hand, it's a kick, we'll see more kicks. Psi slams Místico on the ramp, then throws him off it to the floor. In the ring, Universo drops Rayo with a “jumping” back elbow. He got about an inch off the ground. Psicosis brings Místico back in and rips up his mask, and Lyger claps for him. Místico kicked in the Tree of Woe. Crowd starts to chant something, and Lyger points to his backside. Double pres slam gutbuster for Místico, and Lyger adds the koppo kick. Panther is feisty but the rudos eventually kick him down. Catapult into a fireman's carry drop. Lyger brainbuster! Panther flops around like he's been electrocuted. Psicosis rolls him on his back and covers for one pin. Rayo back in and brawling with Jushin Lyger. Rudo are about to knock him down. The doctor checks on Panther, who's not moving. Corner clotheslines for Rayo, and out into a Jumping elbow smash by Universo. Double suplex by the masked rudos, and Universo adds a top rope splash. One two three.
Blue Panther has a dead eye stare. Slow motion replay shows he landed on his shoulder, not his neck or head, but ignore that.
2: During the break, Psicosis whipped Místico towards the front row, and Místico ended up flying into the third row. Live, rudos work over Místico, including a dropkick to the face before some more mask yanking. Místico manages a reversal to take Psicosis down with a backbreaker, but the other rudos stop him. Lyger is trying to make gestures for what he wants the other two do, but they settle for just holding Místico while someone else kicks him. Panther is still alive, so Lyger suplexes him. Rudos pose while keeping a boot on Panther’s face. Tirantes checks on Panther, who goes into convulsions. The doctor leisurely strolls over to heck on him. He could not be in less of a hurry. Rudos kick Rayo around a bit, and Psicosis goes outside to find things to throw Místico into. Universo unties Rayo's mask. This is a long slow fall of brawling. Rayo casually and easily ducks a double clothesline, then gives Lyger and Universo a bad looking double faceslam. (That's on Universo.) Psicosis boots Rayo into the ropes, Místico springboards in to get him with a headscissors. Big tope takes them both out. Other four all in and brawling, but Panther catches Lyger in the Fujiwara, and Lyger taps out fearfully. Panther takes his time letting go. He still has it on as Rayo lands the springboard inverted tope and grounded headbutts, and still has it on when Rayo has the pin. Panther held on for maybe 20 extra seconds, but no DQ.
3: Místico really would like to face Psicosis, but Psicosis doesn’t want anything to do with him. Lyger has a plan, which involves him going in instead. This take two minutes to work out, and Lyger ends up with Panther anyway. Crowd is into it, but it's not a very exciting match. Lyger feeds his arm to Panther for a hiptoss, Panther walks around him and grabs the other arm. Lyger is all “why are you grabbing my arm?” and Panther responds “ARMBAR” and down the go, but Panther changes to a wristlock because this show still has 8 minutes left. Elbow smash, Panther goes for Lyger's mask, Psicosis breaks it up because those things are expensive. Panther goes for it again, and Universo comes in, stomping down his former trios champion partners. Universo poses, and Panther goes wild punching him, falling out of the ring in the process. Universo recover to boot out Panther, only for Rayo to surprise him with a slap. Posing. Rayo and Universo do the things they do. Rayo's dropkick is so bad, I'm glad it misses. Slap based offense. Some to the front, some to the back. Rayo fakes Universo into throwing himself out, but does not dive. Místico and Lyger in. Did someone in the crowd get blurred out for a hand signal no one would've noticed otherwise? Huh. Místico takes off his shirt for the slap battle, and wins by heel kicking Lyger. Whip, reversed, handspring flip, fake out, back, and spinning armdrag. Superkick says Lyger rolling out. Psicosis surprises Místico with a back elbow. Knee lift, but too much stalling, and Místico snap mares him over and goes for his mask. Rip! Kick, does goes Psicosis, Místico charges, Psicosis monkey flips him to the floor, Místico crashing and burning. Psicosis adjusts him makes, which is pretty cut in half, and charges anyway – big tope takes them both out. Lyger back elbows Panther, misses the flip senton, Panther shoulderblocks him, Lyger bounces off the ropes, Panther pushes him out (that was all awkward), and follows with a tope. Universo running, straight into a Rayo backdrop. Dropkick sends Universo into the ropes , Rayo clothesline sends Universo out. Rayo going up – big plancha clears them both out. Back to Místico and Psicosis. Místico is very fired up, but they’re dancing bit before fighting. Psicosis into an armdrag, into another, into a backbreaker, into another. Místico pointing to his head. Springboard – oh, Psicosis fouled him on the way down. Babe Richard makes the call, as Tirantes looks generally unhappy.
Psicosis rips up Místico's mask some more. Replays, dancing, done.
