Outside the Ring: Perro Aguayo Jr. and Wife

El Baul Del Ring: an 8 year old Mistico fan. At least they found someone! Kid has tons of masks and action figures.

Match 1: Misterioso II, Satánico (c), Virus vs Leono, Máscara Púrpura, Tony Rivera (c)
Arena Coliseo, 09/21/08

  1. tecnicos
  2. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (by DQ)
Match Time: 6:38
Approx Rating: Eh
Other Match Notes: Purpura is back in red. Tony dramatically puts his sun glasses on, which is great. Tony talks about Loco Max in his promo, which is a bit of a tip off. This is quite the tecnico trio of FSE pushes that went nowhere. Hey, remember when Virus beat Tony for his hair? No? Oh. Misterioso has the Occidente Light Heavyweight Championship. Satanico has his cool cape. Advantage: Satanico! His promo is 40% evil laugh and 10% mean face (and 0% knowing who his opponents are.)

1: Purpura tries to go forehead to forehead with Satanico, and Satanico kills him with a shove. That kind of thinking is why Purpura is still in these matches. Either Satanico's lost some weight or his gear is slimming. Purpura switches to a dropkick, which i is more effective but gets a ten minute discussion on what is and what is not a low blow. I learn nothing. Purpura shows off his ability to take Satanico's moves and land on his feet. Satanico sees if that'll work with a open hand slap - nope. Whip, flajpack reversed into an armdrags, Satanico thinks about going for more and bails. Purpura slowly chases him around the ring. Virus and Tony, Tony dominated and sending Virus out with a headscissors. Satanico comes in, knocks Tony down but gets rolled out with an running up the ropes armdrag. Mistico clotheslines Tony by surprise and taunts the other tecnicos. Misterioso conducts himself a song before trying to powerbomb Tony, but Tony faceslams him. Armdrags send Misterioso flying thru the ropes, and Tony propels himself after him with a tope. Leono in, Virus in, Leono misses with a dropkick, Mascara Purpura catches Virus and whips him back to Leono perfectly for a superkick (Leono's best spot ever!) and Purpura finishes off Virus with a standing shooting star press. Meanwhile, Leono gets Satanico with a drop toe hold into a casita to wrap up the fall.

2: Clipped to the beatdown joined in progress. Beatdown doesn't last all that long, Tony ducking a double clothesline to start it. Satanico gets clothesline out, Virus and Misterioso clothesline Tony out, Misterioso misses a corner charge on Leono to thrown himself out. Purpura debuted (? maybe) a twisting reverse tope to floor, while Leono did a tope rope version of his Asai moonsault, crashing into the leg of a front row fan. Tony and Satanico left in, Tony gets Satanico wit a backbreaker and starts to put on a submission, and Loco Max appears in the ring. He apparently came into the crowd, though we didn't see Loco until he got in the ring. Loco beats Tony down and pounds him with forearm around the head. He's eventually backed off enough for the tecnicos t be awarded the win. Satanico pulls the refs back, allowing Loco to get in more blows to the head, including some nice headbutts. This is where Tony would definitely be bleeding if such things were allowed. Loco beats a defenseless Tony out of the ring, where the refs try to get involved and the rudos from the match cut them off again. They're not really upset about the loss, just attempting to run interference here. Satanico and Loco Max bring Tony back in and punch him more, and that's when the production gives up and goes to more with Perro Jr.

Match 2: Black Warrior (c), Dragon Rojo Jr., Olímpico vs Grey Shadow, Sagrado (c), Valiente
Arena Coliseo, 09/21/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:38
Approx Rating: okay
Other Match Notes: Grey Shadow talks about him and his homies. Black Warrior seems delayed walking out, but I guess when you dress that good, you don't have to be on time.

1: Dragon Rojo and Valiente have slightly different physiques. Valiente's in the process of making Rojo pay on the mat, but Warrior quickly comes in and puts a stop to that. Rudos take over quite easily. Valiente takes running double knees from Dragon, running clothesline from Olimpico, then is pulled over Warrior's knees for Olimpico's middle rope elbow drop. He's done. Olimpico repays the favor, holing Shadow over his knees for Warrior's middle rope legdrop, and that's the fall. I know I'm supposed to pay attention to that alarm that keeps going off, but I don't want to.

2: Beatdown goes on. Triple boot for Shadow. Valiente goes flying on a double backdrop. Sagrado eats a corner splash from Warrior to stat the comeback. He gets Olimpico with a headscissors, and Shadow gets Dragon with his own. Valiente catches Dragon Rojo on the charge, and gives him a flapjack into a chestbreaker, which is pretty incredible. Meanwhile, Shadow gives Olimpico his cross armbreaker, and that's the fall. Warrior begs off from Sagrado on the floor, then tries to sneak an attack and gets superkicked.

3: Valiente looks good beating up Dragon Rojo. Black Warrior is still pulling the rope. Sagrado, mask untied, gets the better of him. Shadow tells him to do a flip, but Warrior rolls out to the apron for safety.  Shadow makes Olimpico move a lot, which is probably Olimpico's most favorite idea. Olimpico ends bailing before Shadow can finish him off, so Valiente decks Olimpico with a tope instead. Meanwhile, Rojo gets Shadow with a tope con giro from off the screen too. Sagrado and Warrior left in, Sagrado lands his enziguri and goes for a casita, but Warrior shoves him off, and octopus on his strange new submission - he ties up one leg, and apparently armscissors the other. It's tough to tell from what they're giving us, but it's enough here. Warrior is pretty thrilled in victory, and eventually remembers to collect Olimpico from outside the ring. Warrior wanders into the crowd, though we don't see what he's up to.

Match wrapped up at 7 to the hour, giving them plenty of time to kill. Magadan talks to Olimpico, who says it wasn't a tough win. Olimpico ducks out of the interview to brawl with Valiente., kicking him all the way backstage. Warrior's got Sagrado's mask at some point, because he's celebrating with it now. Still don' get a good angel on Dragon Rojo's dive, even though they have two. We do get a reverse angle of Warrior's submission, and I have even less of an idea. May be just calling that Warrior Special #1.
