Match 1: Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus (c) vs Axel, Felino (c), Máscara Púrpura
Arena Coliseo, 08/03/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:41
Approx Rating: okay. Virus/Felino was fun but there's been better Infernales.
Other Match Notes: In his introduction, they call Axel the continuation of the legend of Santo, though not the grandson. Felino makes cat sounds. Euforia is wearing a Nike Human Race shirt. I know a free t-shirt when I see one. Oh, so is Nosferatu. Virus runs out of breath on his promo. They actually give us the actual ring introductions after all the entrances, which is unusual but appreciated.

1: Felino and Virus battle on the mat for two and half minutes, Virus pretty much always getting the best of it. They end up shaking hands and tagging out. Axel and Nosferatu do simple chain stuff but I'm paying attention to Magadan immediately calling Axel "el nieto de Santo" and comparing Santo to Batman and Superman. Axel does the usual stuff slowly an doesn't seem to be particularly over. They're not booing him, which is nice. Nosferatu goes out after a jumping snap mare, and Purpura and Euforia come in. Euforia batters Purpura with chops. until Purpura ducks and chops back. His don't quite have the same strength. Euforia doesn't looks totally famished anymore. They try a spot where Purpura backflips into an armdrags to escape/counter a Euforia leg sweep, but Purpura misses on the armdrag part. Euforia covers with stomps, and Purpura ends up doing a handspring over the back armdrag instead. Pleased to see different stuff from Purpura, at least. Virus dropkicks him out, Felino gets Virus with a plancha, Euforia pulls Felino down by the mask form outside, and Virus dropkick him in the head to knock him out. Axel comes in, and gets back elbowed down by Virus, then dropped in position for Nosferatu's top rope splash. Need one more, and Purpura's helpful enough to to come back in. Triple submission on him, and that's the fall.

2: Rudos dominate. Felino's worked over as the match picks up. He's tossed out to Axel can be slapped around. Infernales are really fast and efficient on their double teams. Purpura comes in, and is cornered without getting in a shot. Virus kick him questionably slow, but it's clean. Double chop sends him out. Infernales aren't doing much more than flipping guys to their feet and hitting them at the same time, but it looks good. Axel in and slapped around again. Whip, double clothesline misses, and Axel dropkicks Virus out. Boosted up headscissors takes care of Nosferatu. Euforia kicks Axel down, but Purpura gets him with a top rope twisting headscissors, and Felino follows with the double jump tope con giro. Purpura slams Nosferatu and head up. SSP is good for the pin. Axel downs Virus with a missile dropkick and puts him in a camel clutch for the pin.

3: Rudos are huddling, then not huddling after the crowd chants at him. Virus wants his arm raised by the referee for some reason, and doesn't get it. Felino and Virus, lots of Felino going fast bits. Virus takes one kick and he's out of here. Nosferatu gets thrown around by Axel's armdrag and headscissors for a bit. Virus comes in for his side, and stops Axel with a punch straight to the stomach. That's pretty effective. Axel gets backdropped to the ropes, but comes back with a springboard headscissors to send Virus out. Euforia in, Euforia takes a spinning armdrags and a spinning headscissors into a slap spinning armdrags. Axel starts running for his dive, seems to hesitate at one point, but still ends up doing the slingshot tope con giro, not getting much air on it and cranking Euforia in nose with his legs. Purpura quickly sends Nosferatu out, and follows with an Asai tornillo. Back to the captains. Felino and Virus battle on the top rope, Felino wins that, top rope elbow drop connects, and Felino adds on an inverted figure four for the win.  Felino celebrates his big win, and eventually remembers he has teammates.

Match 2: Black Warrior (c), Olímpico, Rey Bucanero vs Grey Shadow, La Máscara, Volador Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 08/03/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:26
Approx Rating: Usual
Other Match Notes: La Mascara has his Trios title, which is just weird to see. He does the promo for his team too. Warrior talks for the rudos.

1: Rudos attack the tecnicos after everyone's gotten to the ring. Warrior can't get a takedown to work on Volador the first time, and sneaks in a low blow headbutt when he can. Rey steals a broom from a guy clean up ringside and smashes Shadow with the handle. Warrior gets Volador with a slingshot elbow and Olimpico follows with a slingshot senton con giro. Rey adds a nudo laguerno (!) for the win. Rey's nudo needs a little work, but he got some practice in here, and that's the important thing. Warrior almost gets Volador's mask off after the fall. It's definitely loose.

2: Rudos still clear in control. Warrior pretty much take son any tecnico he can get his hands on while Olimpico and Rey hang out inside for a bit. Warrior eventually feeds them Grey Shadow, who's brought in and quickly booted out. This seems a bit low intensity. Mascara takes a triple boot. Volador starts the comeback with a double handspring back elbow on Olimpico and Rey after they miss a double clothesline. Volador superkicks Warrior out, ducks another double clothesline, and gets Warrior with a tope con giro. Mascara and Shadow both seem to close their foot on planchas as they come back in on the rudos. Mascara gets a casita while Shadow gets a Rocky Romero short arm scissors for simultaneous finishes. Shadow takes his time letting go. Tecnicos were in control for all of 20 seconds on that fall.

3: Warrior and Volador start. Volador does his flips, Warrior does his his dance, Volador headscissors him out. Olimpico takes Volador down with a kick and stomps him to death while Rey hollers to the crowd. Crowd chants for Volador, which Rey and Olimpico find distracting and off-putting. Whip, rudos put their head down hours too soon, Volador stops, kicks Rey, ducks Olimpico's clothesline, and superkicks him. Shadow's sequence includes an attempt at a spinning DDT/ snap kick combo, but it takes a couple of spins to make it work. Shadow mocks Olimpico raising the roof and gets knocked down for it. Shadow tries to get rolling, but Olimpico kicks him down every time. Shadow does his between the ropes fake, Olimpico charges, Shadow moves and Olimpico goes out. Olimpico lands hard, hurting his tailbone - or at least selling it enough to get Rey to come over and rub it. Let's move on. Warrior gets the better of Mascara and pulls the ropes, always good. Mascara comes back via kicking power, not as good. Rey and mascara blow a spot when  Rey's expecting him to duck a back elbow, and Mascara is trying a headscissors instead. They superkick their way out of there. Olimpico comes back in to get backdropped to the apron, and tripped to the floor. Mascara dropkicks out Olimpico, and Shadow topes both guys. Bucanero adds a slingshot tope con giro onto the pile. Again, the captains are left. Warrior escapes a hamstring kick, as usual. Volador escapes a tilt-a-whirl, but Warrior wastes no time pulling the mask. Instant DQ.

Warrior poses with the mask some, completely unconcerned with the DQ. Warrior's interviewed. This match seems to have gone short. Warrior wants Volador's title or hair. Lots and lots of replays.

1:18 of dancing to fill time. And they're still done at 4 to the hour.
