CMLL FSE GdR - 04/25/08 (#88)
Recap: 05/18/08

Open: Mistico welcomes us to the show.

Intro: while the announcers set up the action, Maximo and Monito discuss the main event match - until Texano Jr. runs in and attacks Monito during the promo! I guess they shouldn't talk about him during it! Texano performs a hit and run on Monito, not touching Maximo at all (and Maximo just lamely yelling at him after.) Terrible talks about his opponents.

Outside the Ring: Mr. Aguila

Match 1: Amapola (c), Hiroka, Mima Shimoda vs Dark Angel (c), Goddess, Marcela
Arena Coliseo, 04/06/08

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: Tecnicas
Match Time: 7:36
Approx Rating: Just okay.
Other Match Notes: Goddess is wearing her new outfit, which looks her old outfit plus a gold tecnica Rosa Negra outfit on top. But it works. Marcela has her belt and sunglasses. Dark Angel is Dark Angel. Sarah does the promo for her team while Goddess stands nearby. She does eventually talk. Her Spanish is...well, she has a very nice voice. Which also means "better mine, that's for sure." She'll get better. Amapola has her belt. Hiroka does the promo for his team and seems to stumble over her thought about Marcela.

1: Marcela vs Hiroka is good, Amapola/Mima vs Goddess less so, though Amapola does go all out on a corner post spear to the floor. Dark Angel ends up back in with Amapola completely dominated her. Only Mima running in with a big boot saves the champ, and then it's a matter of time before Sarah throws her down hard and boots her out. Goddess catches everyone by surprise with a silla to the floor on Mima, and Amapola comes in just long enough to be hamstring kicked out. Dark Angel just makes it to Amapola on a tope, hitting the rope on the way thru. Hiroka charges Marcela and ends up caught in a off the shoulder face first powerbomb. Marcela finishes her off with what I think is a Solarina, but it's definitely different than usual. For the third show in a row, the first fall doesn't end until they get around to counting out people. Odd trend that you only notice when you're doing a marathon session of watching these shows. Hiroka shoves a camera for following her around after losing the fall.

El Baul Del Ring

2: Rudas are in mid-beatdown, with Marcela taking Amapola's running sit, so we missed something. I'm totally distracted by Magadan sending out a shout out to Victor Martinez! I know that guy. Perhaps I should send an email to the GdR address at some point, I totally need a shout out. Magadan finishes up just as the rudas clean up the fall. Amapola gets in her submission first, but Mima adds a German suplex on Marcel at the same time.

El Arte de Catch - or not. The announcers tossed it to that, but it's a fan interview instead.

3: Again, we're edited when the comeback happened, and we're so zoomed out it's impossible to tell why it happened. Tecnicas get revenge all the rudas, and Marcela pins Hiroka down by a knee to keep her in while everyone else heads out. Chest slap battle. Marcela gets in one of her exploding dropkicks. Corner whip, reversed, and Marcela just climbs the ropes to get in an exploding missile dropkick. Hiroka rolls out, Marcela climbs to the top - plancha connects. Amapola and Goddess in and running at each other. Goddess has no plan except running into Amapola's fist,  so that's what happens. Corner whip, reverses, Amapola stops in the corner, Goddess puts her head down as if she's expecting Amapola to rebound, and Amapola boots her in the head. I think Goddess would like to start this bit over. Amapola backs up again (while Goddess takes a couple steps back towards the opposite corner), Amapola charges, Goddess puts her head down again, Amapola sunset flips this time , Amapola pushes her thru and stands up to take a Dark Angel missile dropkick. Dark Angel kicks Mima as she comes in and puts her in a reverse neckbreaker neck crank for one submission. Meanwhile, Goddess gets Amapola with an reverse figure four for the win. That actually looked good.

El Diseno: Starman

Match 2: Mr. Águila, Terrible (c), Texano Jr. vs Grey Shadow, Máximo (c), Valiente
Arena Coliseo, 04/06/08

  1. tecnicos
  2. Perros
  3. Perros

Winner: Perros (2-1)
Match Time: 10:49
Approx Rating: Just okay.
Other Match Notes: Mr. Aguila has the crazy hair back again. It's in three impossible curls. There's tremendous echo on the dubbed intros here, it makes it hard to hear. Monito is out with Maximo, of course. Grey Shadow starts his promo in Spanish but switches to English. How come Marco and Dark Angel and even Goddess are doing their promos in Spanish and the man of unidentified Latin background is doing his in English? Nice to see they've translated Los Perros t-shirt into Japanese.

1: Lots of Maximo comedy to start. Shadow and Aguila work together next, though not good. Tecnico showcase continues work Valiente and Terrible, an odd pair. Possibly in the same weight class. A lot of Terrible moving out of the way of taking the big shot, until Valiente gets him on the apron, chest slaps him to the floor, and impales him with a tope. End game for the fall there. Shadow gets Texano with a Shiranui, and Maximo beats Aguila for a three count with his flying butt bump.

Q: [Maximo/Texano] ?Que Conquistaron?
A: They were Mexican Trios champs. That's why Texano's a rudo now, he turned on his teammates to end the reign.

2: Coincidently enough, they start the next fall. Though Texano seems more angry than Maximo. Maximo tells Texano to hit him hard, Texano hits him hard, and Maximo screams. Texano pulls down his strap to hit him harder, and Maximo is terrible offended and embarrassed. Texano's slapped in the face, multiple times before Maximo starts off the ropes and ends up with a headscissors. Aguila stops that by implanting hi boot on Maximo's face. Maximo turns it around by moving out of the way of a charge, clotheslining Aguila, and knocking him down the corner. Tecnicos hold him in place for Maximo's butt bump, but Monito insisted on doing it himself. Maximo adds his own. Terrible confronts Maximo, Maximo faints, and Terrible catches with one arm like the cover of a romance novel. Terrible is not amused, but Maximo ducks his punch and kisses him. That's enough of that, Terrible kills all the tecnicos to start the beatdown. Lots of brawling, including Valiente taking a monkey flip onto the stage. Terrible goes after Monito after Maximo gets taken out. Terrible swings Monito around by an arm and a leg and tosses him onto Maximo. Texano pulls him out into the middle of the ring, and drops a leg on the blue monkey. Aguila and Texano spin Monito around on his back so much, he's dizzy when he stands up. Perros finish off Maximo with a bodyscissors/chestbreaker combo, though Aguila has trouble holding Maximo up long enough. Valiente takes a slingshot/legdrop combo because no one knows the fall is over.

El Arte de Catch:

3: Beatdown continues. Tecnicos turn it around when Valiente is whipped into the corner and Shadow is whipped in after. Valiente boots Shadow to the top rope, back elbows Aguila as he charges, blocks Texano's kick and spins him around into Shadow flying headscissors. Terrible charges in but misses a senton on Shadow. Aguila runs into a backbreaker from Valiente, and Maximo comes in just to tope Texano. Other four are all left in, but the tide turns. Shadow misses a clothesline and eats a spinning kick from Aguila, Aguila follows with a standing moonsault for a pin. Meanwhile, Valiente tries a quebrada, but Terrible meets him with a dropkick on the way down and that's the end of this one.

Replays. Magadan tries to interview the tecnicos, but the rudos confront them and the tecnicos are pretty much forced to back off as the rudos take over the interview. It's their house. Lots of replays to fill out the hour.
