CMLL FSE GdR - 03/30/08 (#84)
Recap: 04/01/08
Welcome to the show: Maximo. They show plenty of these during the show.
Promos: Amapola and Dark Angel talk up their title match. No announcers.
Match 1: Fire, Pequeño Damian 666 (c), Pequeño Halloween vs Bracito de Oro, Pequeño
Olímpico (c), Tzuki
Arena Coliseo, 03/09/08
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:09
Approx Rating: Definitely been better minis matches than this, but if you
must get more Tzuki, this has a little
Other Match Notes: Entrances. This is Bracito de Oro's first TV match in
who knows how long. Wait, I have a website for this exact purpose! He was in a
cibernetico on CAN52 last year, a GDL match the year before that, and a PPV way
back in 2000. Tzuki does a two second promo. Short man, short speech. Perros
have much more to say.
1: JIP. Olimpicito and Fire are finishing up mat work with zero leg trips. Both pose, and are taken out with dropkicks by Damian and Oro. Damián grabs a hammerlock, Oro escapes with a jumping snap mare. Damian runs into armdrags, but Oro rushes into a leg trip and is pinned for two. Oro sends out Damian with a spinning armdrags, but is cut off from diving by Halloween. Halloween kicks and chops him out of the ring, then walks over the corner, and waits for Tzuki to get him with a flying headscissors. Tzuki to the apron - Asai moonsault! Tecnicos clean up in the ring. Oro block a sunset flip and sits on Damian, while Olimpico powerbombs Fire and puts him in a half crab
2: Maybe JIP, or just edited oddly with the big jumping graphics. Halloween's getting handled easily by Bracito de Oro either way, taking two backbreakers. Bracito de Oro oddly grabs Halloween from behind and walks backwards towards the rudo corner - Damian is easily able to break that up. Oro slides out and they switch to Damian versus the ex-Champ. That's Olimpico, I forget too. Chest slap battle goes for Olimpico when he slaps Damian in the face. Punch. Whip, reveres, Olimpico rolls over the drop off, the ropes, springboard flip over Damian and Olimpico poses. Damian quickly clotheslines him and mocks the pose. Chop. Whip, Damian misses, Olimpico back with a spinning headscissors into a spinning armdrags. Damian sent out, and Olimpico follows quickly with a tope. Halloween goes over to stomp Olimpico, which is apparently not the plan Fire had in mind. Fire waves Halloween into the ring for a casual start to the beatdown. Tzuki comes in and gets beat while Bracito de Oro waits half way in the ring for his turn. Halloween does grab Tzuki over his knee and starts spanking him, and Fire does stomp Bracito de Oro right in his gut, so this definitely has some merit. Halloween spanks Tzuki again just for the tecnico fans, then throws him down hard to set up for Fire's tope rope splash. One two th-no, they pulled him up for no reason. Fire headbutts Tzuki out of the ring as Olimpico comes back in. Double whip, double team double knee gutbuster, and Fire adds a double knee to the back. Olimpico goes out rather than being pinned. Bracito de Oro in and Halloween kicks him in his midsection and his rear section for a bit. Damian lifts Oro into a fireman's carry, and Fire adds a top rope double stomp. Covered, one two three. Tzuki brought back in, and Halloween scoops him, rocks him, lifts him up on shoulders, and gives him a running fireman's carry slam. Triple submission on Olimpico for fun.
El Inmortales: Atlantis vs Mano Negra
3: Either the rudos have been beating the tecnicos thru the break or this is JIP - we never get a shot of the ring to know. Bracito takes the giant swing/dropkick combo. Tzuki gets tossed around by his mask. Landing on your face can not be fun. Fire tosses him to Damian for one more move, but Tzuki sneaks out into a bodyscissors armdrags. Oro knocks Halloween out of the ring with his massive fight, and Olimpico gets Fire with a 'rana. Fire manages to back elbow Olimpico out of the ring, but Tzuki is on him with another bodyscissors armdrags, and then a fireman's carry escape armdrags. Tzuki off the ropes, sunset flip, Fire blocks it and sit down on top, but Oro breaks that up with a kick to the chest. Big chest slap. Whip, Fire back with a sunset flip of his own, Oro tries another sit, but Fire moves out of the way. That never works twice. Fire dropkicks Oro out, only backs up half the way thru the ring, and tries a tope. Fire's knees hit the middle rope on the way over, and Bracito de Oro was way too far to catch him anyway. Fire doesn't accidentally turn over and Bracito does make a good move to catch some of him, but that was a loud thump on the floor. Back in the ring, Halloween immediately drops Mini Olimpico with a back elbow, then whips him across for a running clothesline. Taking it another corner, corner whip, charge, and Olimpico lifts Halloween to crotch him on the top rope. Olimpico clothesline Halloween in the back of the head to generally knock him to the floor. Olimpico tries a pescado, Halloween moves, Olimpico land son his feet (but hurts an ankle or a knee or something.) They keep going on the outside, though we lose track of them for a second while Tzuki gets Damian with a flying headscissors. On the outside, Olimpico is dropped by a Halloween F5, while Damian takes out Tzuki with a press powerbomb inside. That's the match. Magadan was yelling quite random stuff fiercely during this last exchange.
El Diseno: Sensei
Match 2: Amapola vs Dark
Angel for the CMLL World Women's Championship
Arena Coliseo, 03/09/08
Winner: Amapola (2-1)
Match Time: 8:42
Approx Rating: Good but not great. I want to see a full version of this
with a lot less editing.
Other Match Notes: Entrances. They fun even more generic music to use.
Only took them a couple years. More promos. Flash is Dark Angel's cornerman,
Ephesto is with Amapola. Rodolfo Ruiz is your referee.
1: JIP, unless you really want to believe the match started with Dark Angel being in Amapola's Gory stretch. Amapola drops Dark Angel forward to put her in a pining predicament, but Dark Angel stands on her head to escape - twice. Dark Angel pulls herself all the way up and into the sunset flip, Amapola rolls free, but Dark Angel evades the dropkick and covers her. One two no. Whip, dropkick by Dark Angel. Sarah tries to pick up Amapola, but Amapola kicks her away, and dropkicks her into the corner. Amapola sets herself, charges, and runs right into a kneelift. Dark Angel gets her back , puts on a hammerlock rolls one way to trap an arm, rolls the other way to pin Amapola on her shoulders, and gets the submission. That's an weird hold, but I worked. Fall being cut down to 80 seconds did not work as well.
Q: [Amapola] ?Cuando donde y contra quien debuto?
A: December 1997, Arena Neza vs Lady Apache and Flor Metalica
2: Dark Angel rushes Amapola with a kick to the midsection. Punch to the front, forearm to the back. Corner whip, Amapola ducks out under the clothesline, Amapola gets her boots up when Amapola tires her own charge. Amapola flips past Amapola using Amapola's knees, backs up, charges, waved by, and springboard out of the ropes with a plancha. Amapola punch is blocked, and Dark Angel underhooks Amapola's arm to hold her in place for a springboard headscissors. All of this is looking good. Dark Angel kicks Amapola in the midsection, kicks again, Amapola catches it this time, but Dark Angel spins around to heel kick her with the other boot. Dark Angel has Amapola on the ropes, quite literally. Charge, Amapola trips Dark Angel up and quickly chokes her with a running sit on the back. Amapola mocks the crowd chanting for Dark Angel, and kicks Dark Angel in the back. Whip, Amapola picks up Dark Angel in side slam position, spins her over to sit in the ropes, and gives her a running dropkick to the back. Amapola pulls Dark Angel out from under the ropes, one two - Dark Angel puts her foot on the ropes - three. Wait, three? Ruiz even did a slight hesitation before counting, and sees Dark Angel's foot there after the fact. Amapola is confused that she won the fall, and Dark Angel is confused she lost the fall, but that's the way the referee is coring it. Amapola gets over it a lot quicker than Sarah does.
El Arte de Catch
3: JIP, with Dark Angel getting a two count on a small package. Crucifix roll up is so critical, they switch to a shot of the title belt. It's not the finish. 'rana, Amapola reveres one two no. Amapola misses a clothesline, Dark Angel gets her with a waistlock roll up with back bridge for two, Amapola shoves Dark Angel out of a pin, so she switches to a reverse crab. Dark Angel could just grab the arms and get a lethal campana, but it doesn't look like she will - oh, she does, but does it while rolling on to her back for a Romero special. Amapola slips her legs out form under Dark Angle's body, breaks free of the hold, and works to tie up Dark Angel's legs. Amapola grabs a facelock for good measure, then lets go to readjust, but Dark Angel slips free and takes control. Kick to Amapola's back, and back bridging neck crank, I think. Or Dark Angel could just be doing a back bridge over a seated Amapola to show off, I don't know. The position leaves Dark Angel pretty vulnerable to a shot to the sides, and Amapola does to break free. Whip, reversed, Dark Angel puts her head down too soon and Amapola garbs her for a inverted Gori stretch. She has to fight to get it on, but is able to walk around with it once she does. Dark Angel tries to pull herself up and into a victory roll, but Amapola sits to block the roll and gets a two count. I'm not sure if that was right or just worked out that way. Chop. Corner whip, Dark Angel reverses it, charge, Amapola boosts her to the apron, Amapola gets in the first shot, smashing Dark Angel's head into the corner post. Amapola knocks Dark Angel down with a dropkick to the knee, and taunts the crowd some more. Off the ropes, thru the rope tope con giro! Both are down for a moment and the corner people get to wave their towels. And Ephesto yells a lot. Amapola grabs Dark Angel by her hair and throws her in. Dark Angel recovers while Amapola rolls in and stomps her. Whip, quick reverse into an Amapola Rock Bottom! One two NO. Amapola gives Dark Angel a modified inverted facelock elbow driver, one two NO. Whip, Dark Angel grabs the ropes, Amapola charges, and Dark Angel knocks her down with a back elbow. Kick to the midsection, springboard stunner! That was unexpected. Amapola rolls straight out, and Dark Angel climbs the ropes to follow her - plancha! Ruiz starts to count both out. Dark Angel is up first but taking the long way in, so we have time to see a replay. After it, both are in, and Dark Angel is standing over Amapola. Dark Angel stands her up, and tosses her with a overhead pumphandle slam. Double underhook - no, Amapola breaks free, back cracker! One two three.
Dark Angel does even move. Flash has to come in and makes sure she's alive while Amapola celebrates the big win. Amapola has triumphant interview. Ephesto can't stop messing rubbing Amapola's neck with her towel during this and it's so creepy. I find everything about Ephesto strange. Anyway, Amapola is still numero uno in the Consejo.
