Blue Panther vs Black Warrior

Intro: promos by Black Warrior (re: Blue Panther), and Blue Panther (re: Black Warrior)

Outside the Ring: Pierroth, working in his basement. Wait

Match 1: Ohara, Shigeo Okumura, Virus (c) vs Fabián el Gitano, Máscara Púrpura, Mictlán (c)
Arena Coliseo, 02/10/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:07
Approx Rating: Best segunda match with this crew in quite some time.
Other Match Notes: No entrances. Virus' promo is 90% saying the names of the people in the match. Mictlan talks rapidly for the tecnicos while Mascara Purpura stands nearby. Oh, wait, Mictlan does eventually let him talk.

1: This is a better version of the first fall of the usual match. Okumura's really moving while selling Fabian's offense, Mictlan's tope con giro is death flying in a mostly good way, and Fabian doesn't blow anything till the double team that's supposed to fail. Ohara half catches, half throws Purpura to the ground reversing a boosted headscissors into a powerbomb, and the Japan duo clean up with no help from Virus. Announcers call Okumura "violence y sex appeal" and I'm so confused.

I'm ignoring the fan segments.

2: Beatdown continues. Purpura takes a huge bump on the kamehameha, and I hope that catches on. Why is there an ad for Toyota here? At least it appears to be a fox sports thing. Beatdown is not very compelling. Virus bits Mictlan's right index finger. Who knows where that thing's been? Okumura and Virus double boot him out, and Ohara rushes over to swat him in the back of the head. I have idea why. Despite being smart enough not to fall for a Virus handshake, Purpura still gets beat around. Rudos get distracted while taunting the crowd, and Purpura ducks a double double chop to start the comeback. Superfluous flip thrown in for free. Tilt-a-whirl backbreakers for the Japanese. Fabian sets up Okumura with a spinebuster, and Purpura lands a clean running shooting star press for the one half of the fall. Fabian gives Ohara standing legdrop for his pinfall. That seems a tad bit easier. Mictlan takes out Virus with an over the shoulder backbreaker for good measure.

El Arte de Catch: satellite armbar, done by Astro Boy (though not in his usual colors.)

Inmortales: Pierroth vs El Supremo, which was actually requested by people sending in email to the address they always mention. Can I ask for Atlantis vs Villano III? I would also take Ultimo Guerrero vs Mr. Aguila for random reasons.

3: JIP, after an Okumura and Purpura sequence. Virus gets Mictlan to accept a handshake. I'd like to say this proves Purpura is smarter, but if Purpura is so smart, why is Mictlan captain here. Chop fest, won by Mictlan when he ducks and punch. Mictlan gets an abdominal stretch on, but Okumura breaks it up with a kick to protest that cheating. Fabian takes off Okumura's head with a clothesline. I'm sure that was accidentally, but its' funny. Dropkick sends Okumura flying out, add Fabian jumps out to the apron to fly after him - with a perfectly acceptable Asai moonsault! Everyone cheers and they should. Ohara misses a dropkick on Mictlan, Mictlan knocks him down with a shoulderblock, but ends up getting booted out of the ring. Ohara knocks him down with his apron dropkick, and Purpura and Virus are left in. Purpura strikes first with missile dropkicks, 'rana, reversed by Virus one two no. Virus pounds the mat, both guys wave their heads the crowd. Both charge at each other, Virus hooks Purpura, pulls him on his back and drops him with a Gori Bomb. Purpura barely got his head up there, that was almost really dumb. One two three. Virus celebrates by taunting the rowdy tecnico fans.

El Diseno: La Mascara

Match 2: Black Warrior (c), Olímpico, Satánico vs Alex Koslov, Blue Panther (c), Felino
Arena Coliseo, 02/10/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 8:19
Approx Rating: Okay
Other Match Notes: Alex somehow manages to do a promo while a valet is all over him. Olimpico manages a retort all on his own.

1: Blue Panther schools Olimpico on the math for 90s seconds, and the moment he hooks on an abdominal stretch, Warrior and Satanico hit the ring to thrash the tecnicos. General teamup stuff, leading to individual victories. Warrior gets in a flying legdrop on Alex for good measure.

Q: Que personaje tenia y cuando incio como Blue Panther
A: Cachorro, 10/08/1978

2: Double suplex for Alex. This beatdown is much less moves and much more facial expressions. Black Warrior delight sin taking to his uncle, as long as he's being held by his partners. Panther gets free and attempts to main Warrior, but Warrior's partners help out and Warrior is able to cackle safely away. Announcers are talking about the Villanos, I have no idea why. Comeback is sparked by a random Felino corner somersault into no one. It's just weird enough to serve a distraction for Alex's springboard forearm, and Panther's simply running forearm. While four guys brawl in the crowd, Olimpico falls in the lap of a front row woman and hugs her for comfort from Alex's attacks. Felino gets backdropped into a pescado on Satanico, and the other tecnicos clean it up in the ring. Alex has a new variant of the Red Scare, much more of an abdominal stretch, but it starts the same way.  Panther and Warrior are still battling over a toe hold when they call the fall, so I don't know what's going on there. Panther makes a point of making Warrior audible up between the falls.

El Arte de Catch: Gori Invertida.

3: JIP in the middle of a Warrior/Alex section, just in time for Warrior to do Alex's dance (that's Alex's sadly stopped doing.) Warrior almost strains his neck breaking for the stop sign. Dueling dancing maneuvers, and Alex wins with a a jumping enziguri and a springboard forearm to the floor. The other four all end up in, and eventually position themselves to slowly bop Satanico and Olimpico into each other. Felino quickly gets Satanico with a crucifix rollup, while Panther takes a little longer to get a submission via overhead wristlock. Odd choice, but Olimpico looks to be in a lot of pain. It's always the simple, mostly unused holds that hurt the most. That was quite the quick end.

That's it.
