CMLL FSE GdR - 12/16/07 (#68)
Recapped: 12/21/07

Intro: Negro Casas wearing a t-shirt from Inoki's Bom-Ba-Ye show. Free t-shirts are awesome. Negro is not too worried about the main event - he's got the people behind him. Mephisto does the promo for his team.

Outside the ring: Damian 666

Match 1: Euforia, Mr. Mexico (c), Nosferatu vs Fabian el Gitano, Leono (c), Mictlan
Arena Coliseo, 11/18/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 6:28
Approx Rating: It wasn't great, but it really fell off a cliff in the third fall.
Other Match Notes: Tecnicos are getting stomped as we join this one, though it appears to be happening right as they entered and we dint' miss anything.

1: Leono takes a backdrop and a dropkick to the head from Mr. Mexico. Nosferatu tries to get a shot in before Mr. Mexico (without realizing it) cuts him of to get a another forearm. Leono and Mexico got outside, with Mexico beating down Leono, while the Infernales do the work in the ring on the other two. They're going for Mictlan's mask! I'd be more interested in that feud that anything going on with Leono and Mr. Mexico. Double spinebuster on Mictlan, he gets the full nelson stretch. Meanwhile, Mr. Mexico powerbombs Leono. He doesn't kill the man, but gets enough for a three count. Fabian comes in - hey, didn't even realize Fabian was here. Fabian jumps into a double takedown and looks dumb doing it. I know, doesn't seem possible.

2: Beatdown continues. Fabian takes a clothesline bump on the back of his head. I have no idea. Triple boot for him. Leono in, and Nosferatu eventually gets the idea that he's supposed to just be holding the man for Mr. Mexico's violence. Why is Mr. Mexico so mad at Leono, anyway? One day, we just work up, and they were feuding. Leono gets tossed around by his hair a lot. Nosferatu does get in a fireman's carry forward drop. Leono tries to fight back but is kicked down. Kicked down in the crooner, and they spend forever screwing around, so this beatdown is not longer for this world. Corner whip, Nosferatu whipped in, Leono backdrops him to the apron and Mictlan yanks him to the floor. Euforia tosses Leono, but manages to turn into a dropkick on Mr. Mexico. Mr. Mexico rolls out, Leono charges after him, and Euforia accidentally slide dropkicks his partner when trying to get Mictlan. Euforia stands around apologizing, and turns to backdrop Fabian at the last second. Fabian fights off both Infernales, runs to the corner, climbs up the corner (Nosferatu standing around, waiting) and moonsaults to the floor! I do not trust Fabian el Gitano to do moonsaults to the floor, this is a scary concept. Euforia and Mictlan back in, Mictlan knocks him out of the ring with the rolling dropkick (which has a chance to be the greatest silly move of '08) and follows with a over the top rope that wasn't bad. We see way too much of Mictlan's thong when he's on the ground, but you can't win them all. Leono and MR. Mexico end up back in, and Leono bounces Mexico around with a headscissors and a dropkick. Swinging fisherman's suplex, one two three. I forget Leono could do that. I wonder if that means he's saving the elbow drop combo for later.

3: Leono/Mr. Mexico start. It'd be one thing if these guys were good against each other, but that's not an issue here. Leono blows a double springboard headscissors so horribly that we get a long shot of a fan in the crowd instead. I've never understood why they show us the start of the spots that go wrong and then cut away like that - it doesn't really hide anything, it just lets you imagine how bad the move must've been. The edit needs to come before they start the spot if it's going to be of any worth. Naturally, they come back to the match just in time for us to see Leono blow a spinning armdrags, and then look horrible on a headscissors. Maybe he boinked his head on the botched move and is out of here. Mr. Mexico ducks down at ringside, but Leono does his tornillo pescado anyway and elbows smashes Mexico in the head. That was pretty horrible. Other four all end up in, Infernales end up being whipped at each other by stopping in time, Mictlan and Fabian take forever to figure out the boost dropkick spot (it's mostly Fabian's fault), so it's no surprise it was missed. Tecnicos end upon the outside, and rudos follow with ropes. Back to the captains. Mr. Mexico goes for a clothesline, Leono kicks the arm, MR. Mexico spins around and Leono gives him a backbreaker. We've got one ref outside the ring, and one ref looking at the ref on the outside, so Mr. Mexico has plenty of room to low blow uppercut Leono and clothesline him down. One two three. Fabian returns to the ring just in time to be plenty late.

El Diseno: Ultimo Guerrero

Dual Interview: Felino & Sangre Azteca do their promos face (sorta) to face. Felino's looking at the camera, Sangre's looking off camera (at a script? he's totally mouthing Felino's words too). Felino smashes him into the camera to end the bit.

Match 2: Felino, La Mascara, Negro Casas (c) vs Ephesto, Mephisto (c), Sangre Azteca
Arena Coliseo, 11/18/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:45
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances.

1: Ephesto/Felino start, and then Mascara and Mephisto are in shortly before a headscissors sends the rudo out. Mascara follows, Mephisto begs off in the aisle, and Ephesto boots Mascara down from behind. Negro tries to help out and gets jumped by Sangre, and a rudo brawling beatdown breaks out. Negro gets worked over in an empty chair - this being in Coliseo, there's a lot less of them then on some shows I've seen lately. Rudos get it together shortly. Negro takes a middle rope forearm to the back, and Sangre yanks his hair. We're getting a lot of Negro/Sangre where I thought we'd be getting Mascara/Sangre. The other rudos work over Mascara while Felino recovers on the outside. Sangre joins them for some corner clotheslines on the ex-champ. Mascara's slammed, and Sanger goes up - missile dropkick to the groin, and Mascara is done. Felino grabbed as he comes in and set up for Ephesto being rebound hiptoss on top of him. Unfortunately, Ephesto is out of control going for the hiptoss, Sangre never gets a chance to grab him and Mephisto is nearly bowled over. It's botched, but Ephesto just keeps moving and does a splash on Felino as the crowd hoots. Sangre taps Ephesto with his boot as he covers, and he and Ephesto have words - Ephesto thinks Sangre bailed out on grabbing him and I think Sangre thinks Ephesto just screwed up on his own. This is quite a show for botched moves.

2: It sounds like Magadan is talking over another voice over track early on - you can still hear them underneath him, and it's very distracting. It doesn't go away until they put the second fall graphic. Meanwhile, Sangre stomps a mudhole in Negro on the outside to the point of the referees warning him. Mascara sides steps a corner charge to start the comeback soon after. Negro gives Sangre a big boot to the face and pummels him outside the ring. Mascara and Ephesto battle up an aisle of seats, Mascara hitting a superkick between fans. There seems to be a clip in here - a weird edit where we get four pictures at once is thrown in. The entrance lights are also on full blast and shining right into the main camera, and I have no idea that's that about. It makes it a bit hard to see. Fans are into the match anyway. Negro gets in his silla on Mephisto, and grabs a beer from the beer vendor. Sangre ends up with La Mascara here, but Felino takes over in a disjoined point, and gives Sangre a flapjack into a gutbuster. That's the pin and somehow the finish. At least they got the lights off now. Referees do count out the rudos, so there you go. Teleton Pig citing allows them to plug that.

3: Negro and Sangre have a chop fest that we miss a lot of. Negro gets in forearms, Sangre forearms back, Negro gets one big one to knock Sangre down. And they just disappear, they show the fall graphic and we're looking at Mascara making Mephisto and Ephesto turn on each other. Mascara and Sangre up at the same time, and Sangre grabs Mascara by the mask when he tries to slide under. Big chest slap. Whip, clothesline misses, Mascara gets his headscissors and Sangre runs up the aisle to avoid a dive. Felino and Ephesto. No, Felino and Sangre. Huh. Sangre gets the early edge, shoulderblock, over, under, armdrag for Felino. Felino ends up in the rudo corners and knocks both of them down, but Sangre duck his clothesline and dropkicks him. Ephesto come into help, and this is a horrible idea. He shortly accidentally boots Ephesto. Ephesto chases Felino, Felino slides out, but Ephesto is right behind him. Just as Felino's feet touch the floor, Ephesto his him with a tope. Felino did a great job getting ready in position with no time. Tecnicos are whipped into each other, but turn each other around and immediately get finishing holds. That's quick, but it's over.

Felino staggers up the aisle rather than come back in the ring. He might have gotten knocked loopy by Epehsto's loopy dive. I have no idea what Ephesto was thinking. I know what Mascara is thinking, because he's making belt motions. Negro walks off. No talking? Announcers are waiting to talk to someone. Mascara talks about getting a shot at the belt that used to be his. Also, and you might be surprised, be wants a mask vs mask match.
