6) Máscara Dorada, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Hiromu Takahashi, Soberano Jr., Titán [Relevos Increíbles]
How did this card end up on Friday and the Takahashi/Mistico match end up on Sunday? It’s a mystery. This main event should still be really good. The semimain will be interesting to see if there’s a next step for the Infernales split. Villanos and Zandokan are back together again. This is the usual iPPV.
ESTO has an interviews with Reina Isis and Magnus.

Seven matches is a lot for a card, and really for a Sunday show.

That’s a big card for a random Monday. The main is the Aniversario guys, Euforia and Hechicero get a singles match, match 4 is not the tag title match but it’s building to it. Match 2 might be a title match set up too.
A story about Diamond keeps popping up, even though it’s months old by now (and I keep neglecting to include it here.) A woman on Instagram, accused Diamond of taking money for risque photos and then never delivering the photos. The woman, fellow model Ximena Star, apparently had enough of a pre-existing relationship with Diamond to get a story about how Diamond desperately needed money to pay for something for his daughter. Star sent the money, and Diamond just ended up blocking her. Diamond hasn’t said anything in response. The original Instagram post is from June 25th, and I assume it keeps getting brought up every few weeks by some outlet because of the photos they can post next to the story.
AAA
AAA will have the final week of TripleMania Mexico City coverage.
AAA also announced their lineup for their next TV taping:
AAA TV (SAT) 09/23/2023 Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal
1) Drago Kid, Dulce Kanela, Mini Vikingo vs Dinámico, Kamik-C, Skalibur
2) Centella vs Chik Tormenta
3) Mr. Iguana & Niño Hamburguesa vs Kento & Takuma
4) Octagón Jr. vs Mechawolf, Drago, Bestia 666 [AAA LA, #1 Contenders]
5) Dralistico & Negro Casas vs Argenis & Nicho el Millionario
6) Pagano vs Texano Jr. [ambulance]
7) Hijo Del Vikingo © vs Komander [AAA MEGA]
AAA is finally running Vikingo/Komander after everyone else did it for them, for this same title. Happens. Komander’s treated a non-entity on TV, I don’t know that match is going to draw. It’ll be good still. As best I can figure, this will be the first Megachampionship defense on a regular AAA TV show since 2018.
I have many questions: will they just do the same ambulance match ending with Taurus instead of Aaron Solo? Why are Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666 fighting each other and not wrestling going for the title they care about? Of all things, AAA remembered the Mexapowers feud? Why are they taping seven matches when they normally can only air six? None of this is important but maybe some of it will be good.
Konnan, on the Hass of Wrestling podcast, mentioned he had a kidney donor; he’s been in need of for many years and is currently on dialysis. The article says Konnan is waiting for the donor to lose six pounds. If you listen to the actual podcast, Konnan seems to also say the donor’s kidney still needs to be checked to see if it’s a match. I hope it is for Konnan’s sake; that’s seems like a big hurdle still to jump.
Las Shotas (Jessy Ventura & Diva Salvaje) will appear on the 09/01 The Crash show, which presumably means they’re done with AAA. It seemed like AAA had big plans for the group in 2022, then Mamba left, and the others have only appeared a couple of times this year. The departures fuel a story about AAA bleeding talent, but it’s a promotion that has way too many people under a certain level and would be better if they concentrated more on fewer names. Las Shotas are probably better off going on their own; they’re immediately reuniting with Mamba being also on this show.

Wagner betrayed Cibernetico
There were so many matches that the IWRG recap just gives up on writing about the first few matches on the show.
IWRG (SUN) 08/27/2023 Arena Naucalpan
1) Ovett Jr., Sagitarius, Súper Boy vs Águila Roja, Amazonika, Rey Astaroth
2) Noisy Boy & Spider Fly vs León Dorado & Mr. Leo

5) Gran Pandemónium, Hijo de Pandemónium, Pandemónium Jr. vs Hell Boy, Puma de Oro, Shocko [EdM Trios, sf]
6) Aramis & Hijo de Canis Lupus vs Tonalli & Toxin
The main event looks like it’ll be good until the IWRG finish. I’m guessing La Pandemia and the Hip Hop Man trio in the final. Though I guess the story the story they set up previously requires Shocko to make it.

Long time Monterrey promoter Carlos Elizondo passed away on Thursday. His biggest successes would’ve come in the 80s and 90s, when Monterrey was a hotbed of wrestling and had some huge bouts for their time. Rayo de Jalisco, Matematico and Dr. Wagner Sr. all lost their masks on his shows. He is probably actually responsible for the “CMLL” name, an idea to form a intra-Mexico alliance between promotions that ended up not including Eliozando when it got going.

In fact Carlos Elizondo was the major force behind the renaming of CMLL and trying to make a new government body for lucha initially with the big belts. If I am not wrong he later founded FILL, I remember it had the same logo as the original CMLL. Actually, if we remember CMLL kept being the governing body for the titles and the name was also used for the alliance with small promoters and Naucalpan from 94 till 96/97 that was based on Pista Revolución that was presented as a chance for indie luchadores and veterans to get some work, being the launching pad for Mr. Niebla, Zumbido and others. At the end CMLL was then used as the general branding for La Empresa…
