EMLL

(Arena Coliseo)Apollo Dantes, Ultimo Guerrero, Scorpio Jr. vs. Shocker, Black Warrior, Rencor Latino- Guerrero’s team controls all of the first fall. Rencor gets only one move in before Apollo powerbombs him and then the other rudos beat him down and take of his mask, ending the fall in DQ. Scorpio and Ultimo function as a unit, doing some of the Infernales double teams. Shocker starts the comeback for his team in the second, by hitting his clothesline-bulldog combo on Scorpio. Black Warrior then gives Guerrero a dropkick to the knees that makes him flip. Apollo Dantes charges Shocker and is placed in ‘La Reinera’, while Warrior uses his wacky headscissors submission to beat Guerrero. After the match , Shocker promises a surprise when he returns from Japan, while Warrior tells Guerrero that he wants to take his mask. This match was really short and to the point.

(Arena Coliseo)Hijo del Lizmark vs. Dr Wagner Jr.- Wagner wears his Great Muta gear to the ring. Lizmark’s music is great as it’s first four notes are “So fucking what!” This is a revenge match for last week when Wagner used a low blow on Lizmark. Lizmark has the edge early in the first fall with his superkick and handspring elbow. He even hits a top rope frankensteiner, but gets crotched trying a moonsault. Wagner then pulls him down into a tree of woe and uses consecutive dropkicks to the face, but pulls his victim up from a pin after a big splash off the top. A tiger driver(Which the announcers have named ‘media centerria’ I think) wins the first fall for the evil doctor. Wagner starts the second fall off with a ringuina, and a perfect tapitia into a pin but neither are successful. He then goes up for a senton but Lizmark gets out of the way, then after a series of switches nails a spinebuster. Lizmark then gives the “It’s over” sign and uses a huge ligerbomb to even the fallcount. In the third fall we start with Lizmark brawling like a rudo with post shots, mask ripping and forehead bites. He then tries to capitalize on the cut with a big DDT which Wagner does an awesome headstand for. The move only gets two and so Lizmark sets Wagner up top. However, when he tries a frankensteiner, he gets hit low, taking the wind out of his sails. Now Wagner does some retaliatory mask ripping, then sends Lizmark into the ropes. Lizmark flips over his head and hits a superkick, sending Wagner to the floor. He follows with a huge asai moonsault, which looked great. Both guys make it back in on time, so Lizmark goes for his handspring elbow, but Wagner moves and throws Lizmark out. He then hits a sommersault off the apron, putting the tecnico out on the floor for a good while. Wagner tries to suplex him in but is rolled up as a counter. Lizmark hits a rare, good wheel kick and tries a slam, but Wagner flips over, scoops Lizmark up but that is turned into a small package! Sola Dos! Lizmark goes for a rana but gets powerbomb hard, giving the crowd a shocking kickout. Wagner goes for a moonsault? Nope, he is crotched. Lizmark uses a powerbomb into a faceslam for a nearfall that crowd counts with. He then goes back to the powerbomb that is his finisher, but Wagner counters with a rana and holds the ropes… 1-2-3! This was a great match. I liked it the first time I watched it and liked it even more this time. Tons of nearfalls and good crowd heat for Coliseo. Lizmark Jr. looked very good. Wagner was his usual godlike self. On the star scale, this gets ***1/2 I think. Definitely worth checking out.

Now a great skit. Some of EMLL’s tecnicos challenge the minis to a game of basketball. The minis get abused bad because they are so short, and are down 30-0. Then Giant Silva shows up and joins the mini team, though the tecnicos complain because he is too big. The minis end up winning by 30 points. Highlights include Tzuki hitting a three and Silva assisted Tzuki to dunk!

(Arena Mexico)Giant Silva, Villano III, Villano IV vs. Blue Panther, Signo, Fuerza Guerrera, Gran Markus Jr.- There were only a few things of note here. One was Blue Panther’s hand being in what was basically a brace. Secondly was the Villanos cutting a promo inviting Silver King to wrestle with them. So it’s definitely an angle. Some good work with the Villanos, Blue and Signo before Silva tagged in. Silva ends up splashing (and hurting legit) Blue Panther for the win.

A skit where they interview Tigre Hispano, who is doing the dreaded evil ref angle.

(Arena Mexico)Rayo de Jalisco, Rayo de Jalisco Jr, Atlantis vs Universo 2000, Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000- First fall is a quick win for the Dinimitias as they pick on “Rayito”. Second fall the tecnicos fight back, then the Rayos do the stereo topes en reverse to pin Universo and Cien. Third fall, the tecnicos get most of the offense despite the “Man in Black” trying to interfere. Rayo Jr. shows some series potential, moving around with lots of quickness and hitting his moves real well. He even shows off a nice no-hands fakeout into a double flip into a reverse headbutt. After a few nearfalls and a tease of the piledriver, Universo low blows father Rayo, however the son covers for his dad with a low blow to Universo allow Rayo Sr to get the win and a huge pop from the crowd. A decent match. Rayo Jr certainly isn’t as disappointing as the fake Pierroth. He is tiny so he can fly and move really well, and seems to have some nice moves. They are pushing him really hard, it will be interesting to see if or when the stubborn crowd turns on him.

AAA-

Los Diabolicos vs. Los Barrios Boys- Since Marabunta of the Diabolicos has left the group, some guy named El Gallego has taken his place. Angel Mortal still is bald. Los Barrios get to put on a nice show in the first fall, hitting some nice armdrags and stuff. Both Dennis and Alan almost slip trying certain moves but the Diabolicos do a good job ensuring they do not. The Diabolicos turn the fall around and end it with a triple-team power hoist on Dennis. In the second, Alan Boy evades a corner charge to put the match back in the Barrios’ favor. Crowd gets really hot for their comeback. The Barrios tie the match up at a fall a peice, after a skateboard/missile dropkick Van Daminator and ‘la careta’ on Gallego. Third fall is short. Alan and Dennis do criss-crossed tope suicidas to opposite sides of the ring, while Gallego low blows Billy Boy. The heel and face ref fight over the decision but the tecnico ref is successful in getting Billy’s hand raised. This was pretty much like all their other matches, though the improvements to both the way the crowd reacts to the Barrios and the Barrios flying has made things much more watchable.

Mascara Segrada, Sangre Chicana, Panthro, Parka Jr. vs. Texano, Pirata Morgan, El Cobarde, Jerry Estrada- I am so digging Cobarde’s choice of Jazz Swinging music for a ring entrance theme. Panthro is some Monterrey Local who does a Thundercat gimmick I think, except he is short and bulky so it looks weird. The first fall is positively splendid, as the rudos brawl amongst themselves in the crowd and get counted out within 30 seconds of the bell ringing. Cobarde blades like a freak during this and is completely covered in blood. Parka and Estrada work some hilarious comedy in the second. First Parka gets the rudos to pile on each other and then rides them like a horse, and after he gets kicked off, lifts his leg like a dog on a hydrant! Otherwise the fall is just standard action. After a series of dives, Cobarde uses a low blow to pin Sangre Chicana.
