Arena Coliseo, 08/28/2011

  1. Team Dorada

  2. Team Violencia
  3. Team Violencia

Winner: Team Violencia
Match Time: 13:37
Rating: good/interesting
Notes: We're still only getting captains for introductions, and this is a time where you really must explain the entire teams.

1: Astral & Eléctrico start, evenly matched and both wrestling técnico this time. Demus & Violencia shake hands before fighting, another battle on the mat. Violencia finally gets an armdrag, then they shake hands and hug. Pequeño Warrior comes in and claps for this great display of sportsmanship. Handshakes all around. Once the ring is cleared out, Dorada poses on the top rope, and jumps off with a headscissors on Warrior. Rolling faceslam, springboard tope. Whip, reversed, Dorada runs around Warrior, but Warrior just kicks him before he can do anything. Warrior kicks Dorada down, then yells at the crowd. Stunner flips Dorada over. Whip, Dorada back with a double – no, triple! - rotation headscissors. Out goes Warrior, but Dorada launches out of the ring at him, and pulls out the fireman's escape headscissors. Damian spinebuster on Violencia, catapult lift of an Eléctrico springboard elbow smash. Both cover, one two three. Astral in, Eléctrico fireman drops him – in front of the wrong, far corner. gives Eléctrico a “what are you doing?”, and Eléctrico has to pick Astral back up and slam him in the right place. That was just hilarious. Demus lands the top rope splash, one two three. Dorada poses after the win, which upsets for some reason.

2: Violencia drops Eléctrico with a short clothesline, chops him into the ropes, and dropkicks him out. Dorada in, Dorada spun around by his mask. Guess this is the rudo beatdown, though Astral is refusing to participate. Warrior shoves Violencia so they can do a combo move, but it works so I guess they're okay. Astral adds in for a triple dropkick on Dorada, and now the rudos are upset about that. Everyone's nerves are still tense after last week's tournaments, I guess. Rudos don’t want Astral to help out, that's clear. Inverted crucifix powerbomb on Eléctrico, and the rudos get angry when Astral adds an elbow drop. Astral is annoyed at them as much as they're annoyed with him, but they seem to let it go as he helps them beat Dorada. rushes over for the save by attacking Astral. Violencia and Warrior get in between, and then decide they might as well just let those two fight it out. Awesome. Astral gets taken down on Demus, and now Warrior and Violencia back Astral off. And hold him up, so can run in and slap Astral down. Repeat when Astral gets an advantage. Astral has not seemed to figured this game out. corner whip, Astral whips in Warrior after him, sidesteps and Warrior goes flying out, Violencia whipped in, backdrops him to the apron he falls off to the floor, and Demus dropkicks Astral out. Warrior back in with a plancha on Demus. Demus up, shoulderblock, waved by, tripped up and pulled out by Astral. Catapult hold, Warrior lets the crowd know what's about to do. Guillotine legdrop to the floor, landing right on top. Eléctrico and Violencia back in, Eléctrico dropped with a big spinebuster, and inverted four on for the submission. Astral has much more trouble with his own submission. Warrior is mad at his partners for some reason.

In Other Action: the tercera!

3-1: Sagrado toped Hooligan, Rey Cometa landed a 450 splash on Loco Max, and Fuego submitted Hijo del Signo

3-2: Hooligan Clash on Fuego, Loco max top rope splash on Sagrado

3-3: Cometa and Fuego's did moonsault on the same corner, and Sagrado did one from the same corner to pin Hooligan

3: Eléctrico and Astral pose off. Astral flipping run and headscissors on his buddy. Astral rudo-ing it up now. Chop fight. Whip, clothesline misses, Eléctrico cartwheel headscissors is getting better. Astral flips Electro to the apron, and Eléctrico just pulls off the slingshot headscissors. Both misses clothesline, shoves, more shoves, stare down, and Violencia and Dorada a dropkick them both. Dorada kicks Violencia and slaps him. Headlock, shot off, Dorada falling over, casadora armdrag and running up the ropes, twisting tope con giro in the ring. Dorada misses grabbing onto Violencia on one pass, but headscissors him out on the next, and then does the fake dive pose. Warrior in and yelling his name, only for Demus to shove him. Shoves back and forth. Off the rope avoidance includes Demus doing a front headstand, and Warrior clotheslining him for it. Warrior yells at on the mat, and then chants his name again. Whip, reversed, clothesline misses, and Demus spears Warrior. pounds Warrior on the mat, and smashes his head into the mat. Stomping! Spitting! Off the rope, dropkick sends Warrior out. Demus going for a dive (!), but he hits the middle ring and just oddly tumbles to the floor. Astral starts to set up for a dive, notices Demus is still down, and turns around to eat a headscissors from Dorada. Violencia rushes in and kicks Dorada away. Eléctrico in, trying for a 'rana but pushed down. Violencia charges, and is monkey flipped straight to he floor. Dorada and Eléctrico with Asai moonsaults to the floor. Inside the ring, knocks Warrior down. Corner whip, Warrior backflips out of the corner, whip, Warrior puts the stop sign up so he can dance. Warrior off the ropes, Demus tosses him up and fouls him. Didn't even try to hide it, and Terror Chino totally saw it. The two roll around brawling on the floor, Warrior taking the worst, but he gets his arm raised.

Match 2: Blue Panther © , Rush, Toscano vs Averno ©, Ephesto, Mephisto
Arena Coliseo, 08/28/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:38
Rating: bleh
Notes: Ref is Bestia Negra.

1: Toscano and the rudos make mean faces at each other before he actually starts with Mephisto. Panther/Averno are evenly matched on the mat next, and get an extended segment for their usual battle. Just leaving Panther for this fall makes a lot of sense. Panther gets a cruz nipona, rudos break it up, técnicos chase them off. Averno kicks Panther out of the ring, then stands waiting for Rush for one two three four seconds before Rush finally planchas him. Rush climbs slow. Headscissors, superkicks, boos. They should've named Rush “Bruce” so they can at least pretend Everyone was cheering for him. Triple sunset flips by the técnicos does not actually win the fall. Panther has to direct traffic to get Toscano in the right place. Star is slowly applied. Rush goes for the headscissors cradle on Mephisto, but Mephisto just dumps him off onto Toscano. There's a speed issue in this match. Double powerbomb takes out Toscano, shoulderbreaker finishes Rush. Maybe that's NOT the hold to use on Rush.

And now highlights from the semimain: Super Porky, Black Warrior, Valiente vs Yoshihashi, Euforia, Vangelis
4-1: Valiente tope on Vangelis, Warrior casita on Euforia, Porky sit on Yoshihashi.
4-2: big faceslam for Warrior, double suplex for Porky, Yoshihashi adding a senton for the win.
4-3: Rudos stomp down Valiente and shove the ref until a DQ. Hmm.

2: Beatdown. Announcers speculate about a TRT vs Hijo de Avernos match. Triple powerbomb on Rush should probably end it, but the rudos don't get around to covering. Panther is dropkicked off the apron, but the rudos are in no hurry, so Toscano rushes in and topes Ephesto and Mephisto . Averno is left alone and tries a plancha on Rush, but Rush catches him, rocks him a bit, drops him on his feet, and ducks a punch and turns into a back suplex. Senton, one two three.

3: Panther snap mares Ephesto, and the other técnicos rush in to stop him. Shoulderblocks sends Ephesto out. Panther off the ropes, Ephesto trips him up, and Mephisto kicks him in the face. Whip, clothesline misses, Panther farmer's roll, one two Averno breaks it up, struts around, and spits at Rush while he's at it. Averno misses a punch on Panther. Panther chops him in the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Rush flips Panther to the apron and comes in to face Averno. Averno doesn’t ant any part of this, but has no choice. Off the ropes avoidance ends with a Rush belly to belly suplex. Kick to the chest, and Averno yells and rolls out. Ephesto in and chopping, but Rush just chops harder. Rush off the ropes, Ephesto keep missing until Rush drops him with an elbow smash. Dropkick sends Ephesto out. Mephisto in, clothesline misses, quebradora for him. Mephisto ducks a short and kicks Rush out of the ring. Toscano in with a flying armdrag, whip reversals (some a bit odd) end with Averno grabbing Toscano, but Mephisto smacking his partner by mistake. Mephisto responds to slap Toscano rather hard. Whip by the rudos, Toscano ducks the double clothesline, Boost headscissors takes out Mephisto. Headscissors to send Averno out, and a bodyscissors armdrag to take care of Ephesto. We're about done here. Toscano tope on Ephesto. Panther charge the other rudos and misses. Rush dropkick and misses. Averno accidentally this Mephisto with a slap, going for Rush, and Rush turns an Averno whip into a tope con giro...that misses Mephisto entirely. That looked painful. Panther and Averno in, ref checking on Rush, and Averno sneak in a low blow uppercut. One two three.

Rush's dive in the third fall.
