Match 1: Black Warrior, Blue Panther ©, Sangre Azteca vs Misterioso II ©, Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura
Arena Mexico, 05/15/2011
rudos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:15
Rating: good
Notes: No entrances. Ref is Terror Chino.
1: Panther repeatedly traps Okumura in hold to start the fall, Misterioso and Pólvora repeatedly try to intercede, but the referee keeps cutting them off and forcing them out. Panther tags in Warrior, who gets in a low blow headbutt and contains Okumura similarly, with the rudos still blocked from getting involved. (There's at least one time with both in where it sure looks like Okumura reaches far enough to make a tag, but the referee rules the rudos weren't close enough to their corner, I guess.) JCC tries to set this up as a rudo vs pseudo-rudo battle, but Magadan isn't having it. Maybe he'd be okay with rudos vs traitors. Sangre Azteca come in, and continues the mild work on Okumura's left arm. Rudos finally have enough and storm the ring at the same time to start the beatdown. Nice work there, Terror Chino. Pólvora and Misterioso are enough to take control, with Okumura out on the mat for a bit. As JCR pitches a Pólvora vs Misterioso vs Sangre Azteca mask match, the two rudos lift Sangre up for a suplex, but end up tossing him over the top rope the ramp. Brutal. Warrior is tossed face first into the corner, rebounds out to take Okumura's missile dropkick. Three man submission finishes Panther.
2: Announcers point out Pólvora working over his Forjando un Idolo mentor Panther. Sangre takes the dropkick/powerbomb on the ramp. Corner charges for Black Warrior, including the nose slap. Triple boot for Panther. Sangre ducks on a corner charge, and Misterioso takes the knee bump on the way out. Okumura accidentally dropkicks his partner into the corner, and Sangre gets in his first low blow dropkick of the mat. Warrior topes Misterioso into the front row. Panther submits Okumura easily as Sangre takes care of Pólvora
3: Pólvora/Black Warrior pose off has Warrior winning the posing and Pólvora winning the dropkick. Pólvora has a great looking powerslam (which I can't seem to recall him having without Black Warrior), but Warrior comes back with his usual offense, looking fine. Sangre breaks Okumura with a quebradora. Pólvora yells at Sangre, they go head to head, Sangre shoves Pólvora in the ropes, and Pólvora comes back with a big clothesline. Pólvora goes to his move, which is yelling loudly at the crowd and occasionally posing. Pólvora's chop is not very loud. Sangre's wheel kick turns the tide, and Warrior dances to celebrate on the apron. Misterioso tries to attack, gets sent into the técnico corner and tripped up, and there's low blow dropkick number 2. Okumura ambushes Sangre, and takes care of Panther when he gets involved. Panther turns it around, flipping Sangre to safety, plancha-ing Okumura, and nearly winning on a small package. Nudo lagunero, Pólvora break it up with a dropkick. Pólvora small package one two NO. Pólvora freaks out on the referee for a slow count. Whip (Warrior comes in, then leaves!) Pólvora spinebuster, rolling into an inverted figure four, now Warrior is into break it up. Warrior double underhook backbreaker, one two NO. This is better than I thought it's be. Warrior with a neat float around the back into a cradle, one two Misterioso up and yelling at Warrior to try him. Bestia Negra is not so subtly getting a loud message in his ear about how much time they have left and telling these guys to hurry it up. Misterio rolls thru a sunset flip and kicks Wariror in the head. Misterioso yells, covers, does not get the win, but does yell. “SI SE PUEDE!” chant by the rudo. Misterioso inside cradle one two Sangre Azteca bask it up and angrily stomps Misterioso on the mat. Sangre picks him up, but Misterio fights free. Chop fight, Misterioso shoulderblock off the ropes avoidance leads to a Sangre headscissors roll, launching Misterioso out of the ring. Sangre runs, holds up at the ropes when Misterioso turns the corner, and Warrior leaves Misterioso with a tope con giro of the apron. Other técnicos miss dropkick on the other rudos. Técnicos whipped at each other, but quick reversals into inside cradles one two NO. Sangre and Panther doing mirror spots is awesome, kind of hilarious. Rudos regain control, send Panther into Sangre, and dropkick Panther out. Sangre whipped to the corner, Pólvora whipped in, Sangre flips him to the apron, and Panther sweeps him up. Sangre in with the Japanese man, headscissors for him, and Sangre is going up. Fist in the air, plancha off the top buckle. Misterioso and Warrior. Warrior misses a clothesline, Misterioso dropkick to the knee, float around on Misterioso’s back, float around on his front side, around into a hammerlock neck crank submission. That was something! Win for the técnicos.
Match 2: Felino, Mr. Niebla ©, Negro Casas vs Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila, Psicosis ©
Arena Mexico, 05/15/2011
Invasors
Winner: Peste Negra (2-1)
Match Time: 12:17
Rating: better than expected
Notes: Psicosis captain = totally doomed. No entrances. Zacarias is in the Peste Negra corner. Felino is in his old gear. Referee is Tigre Hispano. Mr. Aguila is in bodybuilding shape suddenly, and now wearing small trunks. Hmm.
1: Basic start between Negro & Psicosis doesn't last long before the Invasors get in a cheap shot from the apron and start the beatdown. Garza goes more after Zacarias than he does Felino at first. Beatdown itself is not anything noteworthy, but the Invasors are hustling.
2: Beatdown continues. Invasors corner Niebla, but every time someone hits Niebla, Niebla spits in their faces. Invasors rally to whip Niebla to the other corner, Niebla sidesteps Garza’s charge, and the Casas take care of the other two. A lot of revenge brawling. Casa run Psicosis and Aguila into each other, then easily cradle them for the win. (Tiger Hispano tried to count them separately – but Felino had stopped covering by two of 'his' count.) Meanwhile, Zacrarias stomps Garza from the apron with some help from Mr. Niebla.
3: Negro starts with Garza, then has a fun chop->forearm->kick battle with Aguila. Negro comes back with a jumping DDT on Aguila, then Felino outraces Aguila on a dropkick. Nice spinning armdrag by Felino sends Psicosis out. Garza slips in to kick Felino in the head, but ends up missing the corner charge and nearly getting his trunks pulled down. Felino sends Garza out with a dropkick, and Zacarias splashes him off the apron, though the camera misses most of it. Niebla and Aguila in, but Niebla wants Garza. Garza comes in, gets slapped down, and Niebla does the Niebla dance. Spit is only slightly caught. Garza punishes Niebla with a kick. Niebla gets chopped by everyone and the Invasors mock him. Niebla gets revenge by slapping Psicosis in the back of the head, and getting Aguila with a pelvic thrust, I guess. Garza hiptossed to the rope, Psicosis sent into Garza to send Garza out, Aguila grabs Niebla, Niebla gets free before the clothesline can hit, Aguila holds up, double clothesline by the rudos miss, double backdrop is too soon, and Niebla gooses both of them. Aguila boots his partner out by mistake and can’t get Niebla down with a clothesline. Niebla slaps him around for trying. Aguila tells him to try a clothesline, Aguila ducks, tells Niebla to stop, does a standing backflip, and Niebla slaps him in the back of the head. That was random. Felino in, handspring back elbow sends Aguila out. Felino tosses Garza around, and Garza backdrops him into a pescado on his partner. Garza and Negro battle, Garza takes his corner bump to the floor, and Zacarias tries a plancha. Garza easily catches him, and dumps him on a front row fan. Negro tries a silla, Garza holds him up, but Negro punches them both over. Negro goes to rescue Zacarias from the crowd as the captains are left in. Niebla dances, knocks down Psicosis, and puts on La Nieblina. That's it.
Zacarias' splash is caught on the replays.
