Match 1: Dragon Lee, Hombre Bala Jr., Hijo del Signo, Super Halcon Jr., Enrique Vera Jr. vs Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II, Inquisidor, Súper Comando, Artillero in a cibernético match
Arena Coliseo, 04/17/2011
Super Halcón Jr. moonsault Artillero (10:49)
Winner: Dragon Lee
Match Time: 24:12
Rating: good, not great, but a fine rookie match
Notes: Match joined with everyone out at the ring and in their corners. Signo and Artillero start is the ring. Tiger Hispano is referee. I see Rodolfo with the Gen11 team, and Pompin is watching the other team.
Battle on the mat, as JCR goes over the backgrounds of all the Gen11 guys. Signo, seems to getting the better of it, though no one ends up far. Artillero wearing his wrestling top over his camouflage kind of makes him left camouflaged. They get nowhere before making tags.
Super Comando and Enrique Vera in next. Very basic stuff. JCR now giving the background on the referees, which tells you the level of stuff happening here (or how close they ever pay attention to it). Snap mare ends this even exchange. Tags.
Rayo Tapatío II, I think, and Dragon Lee in. Hey, the graphic agrees with me. Rayo II looks slimmer than usual this week, Dragon Lee wrestles in his t-shirt, and gets briefly caught in a chinlock before countering out of that and eventually ended up with the armdrag. Armbar reversal leads to another armdrag. Zero trips, and I think they're done. No, Rayo shoves Dragon Lee, Dragon Lee shoves him and slides out after the rudo. Wrong side of town! Opening match guys swarm Dragon Lee and smack him around. Gen 2011 posse runs over to make the save, and both sides stop fighting long before a referee gets involved.
Hombre Bala has slipped in the ring during this, and stays there as the sides get cleared up. Artillero is strangely back in for his side, but we'll go with it. Bala drops down quickly, and Artillero elbow drops him quickly. Mudhole stomp in the corner. Tiger Hispano warns Artillero, but Stone Cold just shoots him a look. Hombre Bala corner whip, kip up but no one's there, Artillero steps around Bala, Bala dropkicks him before the rudo can do anymore. Corner whip, Bala boost to the apron on his home, Artillero charges, his punch is knocked away, Bala knocks him down with a shoulder and pulls off almost a pescado back into the ring. Cover zero. Bala off the ropes, back with an armdrag, and Artillero is rolled right into the ropes. He goes out of the ring. Bala flips off the bottom rope to pose. Boos.
Super Halcón Jr. very excited to get a tag and make his debut on this show. Hooray for him. Inquisidor as the opposition. Inquisidor slaps Halcón once, and Halcón needs to take a knee. Uh, maybe a lot more toughness there. Chop fight breaks it, Halcón deciding to take each one that way. Fans really dislike Super Halcón Junior for existing. Inquisidor shoulderblocks, off the ropes, over, dropkick knocks Halcón down. Inquisidor celebrates, slapping Vera on the apron for good measure. Inquisidor misses a clothesline, evasion off the ropes, and Halcón gets a very loose fireman's carry headscissors. A spinning armdrag is very slow and not very good. Inquisidor slides out, Super Halcón slides after him, and realizes what he's done in time to back peddle quickly.
Vera and Rayo I in. I think it's just my TV making the Rayo's look slim. Slap fight between these two, Rayo sent into the ropes and armdragged strongly. Drop toe hold, knee drop to the shoulder. Vera off the ropes, Springboard armdrag, Rayo up, and right into another armdrag. Rayo up again, and right into a quebradora con giro. Vera is fired up, so Rayo runs into another one, not as good. Rayos get in no offense.
Tags to Artillero and Halcón. Artillero misses a dropkick. Halcón goes for a 'rana, and Artillero powerbombs him instead. One two NO. Chop. Whip, Halcón back, Artillero misses a clothesline, Artillero powerslams him one two NO. Artillero can't believe he's not getting a three count on this. Break.
No filler. We may not have the time!
Resumed with Artillero taking Halcón down. Artillero yells, reaches down, and gets cradled, one two NO. Artillero would like Tiger Hispano to slow down his count now. Super Halcón goes to the corner, looks around, waits of Artillero charge, and scoops him on his shoulders. Spinning fireman's drop, up to the top rope, moonsault connects. One two three. 5-4, Gen2011
Halcón tags in Signo. Replay of the finish prevents us from seeing the new vet, and he's already out of the ring when they come back from the break. Signo fouls, pescado on Rayo I (probably.) Quebradora con giro while he's at it.
Vera in, but missing a dropkick on Super Comando. Boot to the head. Whip, Vera climbs the corner and comes off with a plancha for two. Vera big powerslam, one two NO. Vera shoulderblock, off the ropes, casadora - no, reversed into a behind the back faceslam by Cometa. Comando Clutch! You are done, Enrique Vera. Super Comando's submission actually got a reaction, though it might not have been recognition as “neat move!” 4 a side.
Super Comando celebrates, which is bad since Super Halcón is already in the ring behind him. Replay of the finish covers up Halcón sending Comando out, and we'reback in time to see Halcón take out the rudo with a tope con giro.
Rayo I and Dragon Lee, front springboard flipping in and almost slipping. Replay of Halcon's dive but. from the sound, we're only missing Lee take off his shirt. Loud chop fight. Dragon Lee kicks Rayo I down, flipping run, roll over Rayo's backdrop, and flipped by Rayo I's clothesline. That sell is getting marginally better. Rayo slap, whip, Dragon Lee back with a spinning headscissors. Wristlock, up the ropes, and off with a headscissors – eh, that one kind of ailed, both guys falling into the mat. Dragon Lee keeps going, snap mare, dropkick to send the rudo out, and pose. Dragon Lee starts walking the wrong way, then walks backwards to take in Super Halcón. He and Inquisidor are just starting at the send it to break.
Halcón mid-kicks Inquisidor down. Inquisidor shoved into the corner. Corner whip, Halcón backs up, takes his time, and walks into the corner, where Inquisidor easily puts him on the top rope. Slap the back, back off the ropes, and running dropkick to the chest. Cover one two NO, big kickout. Replay of that dropkick. Inquisidor corner whip, reversed, Halcón in no hurry again, running a little faster, and Inquisidor still kicks him away. Inquisidor the middle rope, stopping to yell, and Halcón joins him. Superplex, one two NO. Halcón is ticked that wasn't three. Don't know why. Halcón off the ropes, waved by springboard onto Inquisidor's shoulders, and dropped in the Storm Cradle Driver, I think. One two three, Inquisidor gets a fall.
Super Comando is already working over Hombre Bala Jr. after the replay. Whip, flapjack, dropkick to the head. Whip, flapjack, Bala weakly gets Comando with a dropkick on the way down. Bala jumps onto Comando's shoulders, Comando dumps him forward, them dumps him on his chest. Tapatía, but Signo breaks that up before it can get going with a flying sunset flip. Comando rolls thru and dropkicks this rookie too.
Bala rolls out, and Comando slaps down Signo. Whip, clothesline misses, Signo back, 'rana, Comando rolls thru one two NO. Comando argues with Hispano while getting up. Signo tries a casadora, Comando reverses that in into the behind the back faceslam, but Signo kicks him away before he can get the clothesline on Super Comando clothesline is reversed into a short clothesline by Signo. Slap sends Comando into the ropes. Corner whip, Signo just stops him on the run, then lifts him into a northern lights suplex, one two three.
Back, to see Rayo II dropkick Sign out, and follow with a punishing tope. Bala goes for his own dive, but Inquisidor cuts him off with a kick from the apron. Extra surprising, since it wasn't near his corner. Inquisidor back suplex, picking Bala up, and dropping him with another! One two No. Inquisidor points to the técnicos section, then runs and kicks Bala. Chop in the corner. Don't point at him, hit him. Corner whip, Inquisidor charges, whips Bala back the other way, front cracker, Cover, one two NO, foot on the ropes, Pompin was ready to call that from the outside. Inquisidor argues with the inside ref, but that won't help. Chest slap by Inquisidor knocks Bala into the corner, but Bala blocks the next, kicks Inquisidor, powerbombs him, and head up. Moonsault tornillo! One two three (despite Inquisidor sort of kicking out a couple times.)
Picked up with Rayo I in, with Signo on his shoulders for a headscissors cradle. One two no. Signo small package, Rayo kicks out again. Signo protest to the crowd, and Rayo jumps him with a backcracker. One two three.
Down to Rayos vs Bala & Lee. Rayo II to start with Bala while we get replays. Bala is covering Rayo as they return, but Rayo kicks out. Bala throws his weight into a slap. Headlock, shot off, waved by, back with a sunset flip, one two NO. Rayo II slaps Bala down armbar, into a hammerlock, hopping on Bala's shoulders for a headscissors takedown, and getting a submission that way. Dragon Lee is the last man left for his side.
Dragon Lee and Rayo II are going already during replays. Lee slips in a couple knee lifts, fireman's drop in front of the corner, and Lee heads up. Shooting star press, one two three!
Rayo I and Dragon Lee are the final two. Chop fight, and Dragon Lee dropkicks Rayo I out. Dragon Lee backs up, charges, running slingshot tornillo onto Rayo I. Rayo I rolls on top after impact, and decides to count his own three count! I don't think it works like that. Replays. Dragon Lee back in, and suplexes Rayo I in with him. Standing shooting star press, one two NO. Rayo I waving for support, and there are people chanting for Rayo. Dragon Lee gets him with more kneelifts, and drops him throws this away from him across the ring. Springboard elbow drop, one two Rayo II breaks up the pin! Rayos pay no attention to the referee calling for the DQ, tag team stomping Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee's mask is quickly removed. Hombre Bala runs back in, but he is quickly neutralized. Taking his mask takes a little longer. Dragon Lee is listed on screen as “ganador” as he's rolling around on the mat and covering his face. That does not look like a winner to me!
Rayos celebrate their loss with both masks.
Match 2: Delta, Toscano ©, Valiente vs Felino ©, Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura
Arena Coliseo, 04/17/2011
rudos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:34
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Pompin. Joined with the rudos bating down the técnicos
1: They quickly take the ring for three on one violence. Valiente takes a corner charger, Misterioso stopping in front to slap Valiente in the nose. Delta and Okumura botch something just as they cut to the fall edecan – good time to shift focus. Felino pins Delta after the other two have finished him off, though it doesn't seem like much of a finish. Misterioso lifts Valiente into the Gori stretch, Okumura adds his middle dropkick, and Misterioso drops him in a Gori Special. That'll do it. Toscano comes in, but decides to gets distracted instead of break up the pin.
2: Rudos still in control. Lots of holding and hitting. Valiente sidesteps a corner charge, Misterioso pears the post on the way out, but Okumura still back elbows the técnico. Corner whip I as a bad idea – sure enough, Valiente Special connects. Toscano gets Okumura out with a flying armdrag, and Delta rushes in just to rush out with a tope con giro. Felino misses topping him, moves out of the way of Toscano's corner charge, but still take a drop toe hold. Casita, Felino shrugs off his own move, but Toscano gets him with a crucifix roll up for the fall.
3: Plenty of time for this last fall after the first two falls went so short, but this one feels joined in progress. Felino & Delta avoid each other for a while, Felino calls in Okumura to help, Okumura does not help much. Felino gets sent out, and Delta robotically takes the other two with a 'rana and a headscissors. Quebradora on the floor gets little reaction. Valiente and Felino in. Felino looking especially grimy today. One headscissors takes care of that rudo. Monkey flip sends Misterioso cross ring, and another sends him back where he started. Double jump headscissors for Okumura. Valiente poses, and Felino thinks about charging him but opts not. Toscano/Okumura exchange highlighted by JCR telling us about that one time Okumura won the Gran Alternativa. As required in every match with them. Toscano rubs his armpit in Felino's mouth, and Felino is OK with it. Back to Valiente and Misterioso, who retreats after taking too many chest slaps. Felino in, Valiente slides out to chase the other rudo, Felino teases his dive but ends up tripped off the apron. Delta drops Okumura in front of the técnico corner, heads up, and lands the moonsault, mostly. Toscano gets his finish on Misterioso for the other finish.
Felino armpits the camera. Técnicos celebrate. Replays, lots of replays because now they have time, and they're done.
