Completely new open. It's very much in style of the one done for Ras de Lona, but using Hijo del Fantasma, Hector Garza, Amapola and Dark Angel. Amapola's seems shorter than it is currently. This might have been taped a while ago and just debuted this week.
New graphic package too. The edecan footage is reused.
The show also is airing in HD, but they've got the left/right side shrunk to fit standard definition. Everyone looks stretched height wise (unless your TV allows you to fix it.)
There are no adds on the outside of the ring this week. All white.
Match 1: Fabián el Gitano ©, Metálico, Metatrón vs Bronco, Demus 3:16 ©, Inquisidor
Arena Coliseo, 01/30/2011
rudos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:49
Rating: eh.
Notes: Fabian suddenly has short hair. Metatron exists! Rafa el Maya and Bestia Negra are the referees.
1: Announcers talk about Dos Leyendas, and JCR promises a mask vs mask match. Metatron and Inquisidor get the long opening mat work. Eh. Announcers also bring up Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno, which is nice for them. Fabian vs Demus involves a lot of screaming, all from Demus. Fabian’s kick to the back is extremely painful. Jumping snap mare sends Demus out, and running all the way up the aisle. Metálico and Bronco exchange quick pinfalls. Metálico sends the big man out with a springboard armdrag. Bronco start to walk away, then realizes he's got to turn around because Fabian is setting up for a top rope moonsault. That connects, once Fabian can find his footing. Demus knocks down Metálico inside, and step out of the way of Metatron’s top rope plancha. Inquisidor barely gets Metatron over on a powerbomb, and finishes him off as Damian is doing the same to Metálico.
2: Edecan gets all the way to the ring without realizing she's showing the wrong side of the card to the crowd. Though I don't know why there is a side with out the number on it. Rudos beatdown. Fabian ducks in, slaps everyone does a springboard flip, gets grabbed by Bronco and ducks the double clothesline. Rudos finally kick him out, other técnicos rush in for dropkicks, Metatron actually misses his, just to setup Demus going the other way. Metálico tope on Inquisidor (missed by the camera) and Metatron lands on Demus’ head with a tope con giro. Fabian in, rushing Bronco on the apron. Bronco puts his boot up and levels Fabián with a boot. Top rope plancha misses, like always. Fabián puts on a inverted crab, and that's enough for the submission. Solar's training paying off! Fabian wants the referees to raise his arms, but they inform him that Bronco isn't the captain and they're waiting for a count. It's a slow one.
You know, Hector Garza isn't stealing a look at that woman's personality when he says that's the quality he likes most in a woman.
3: Metálico knocks Bronco around with chops, then sends him out with a bad looking springboard headscissors. It's a tough move to do with that man. Metálico does an odd bottom rope springboard armdrag got the floor to finish up. Demus goes into Beast mode on Metatron. Metatron's offense goes find, and a casadora armdrag sends Demus sliding out. Inquisidor tries to have a pose off with Fabian el Gitano. Fabian is amused by the concept. Inquisidor is armdragged all over the place and dropped with a quebradora. Fabian goes for a submission, and the rudos break it up, stomping Fabian into the mat. Other técnicos are slow to react. Rudos whip them into each other, but they turn it around and get big moves. Metatron slams Bronco, which is a bit impressive, then does a pump tornillo in the corner for one pin. Metálico drops with Devil’s Wings, covers for one, and then gets up to celebrate. Maya yells at him about it being a one count, and Metálico comes back to cover with one foot. I would've totally unprofessionally kicked out of that if I was Demus. Wouldn't have mattered, because Fabian and Inquisidor had enough time to come back in and get that finish too. Metálico walks across the ring and stomps Bronco after the finish too. Replay shows Metálico totally got up early on purpose.
Match 2: Metro, Rush, Toscano © vs Ephesto ©, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
Arena Coliseo, 01/30/2011
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:26
Rating: entertaining
Notes: Yoshihashi now has face paint. Rush has his belt. Toscano has lipstick kisses on his face, and all over his trunks. Very Latin Lover like. Same refs as the opener.
1: Yoshihashi and Rush, of all the people in this match, are the two who start working together. Rush has a short fuse and Yoshi was setting off uses last time we saw here, so this may not be the greatest idea ever. Cutting away to the fall graphic is probably a good idea. Battling toe holds and such. Yoshihashi has facepaint, but I'm not sure he has a particular design. Rush and Yoshi get into a chop fight and Yoshihashi is long that one. Dropkicks ends him out. Rush fake the dive and smiles a bunch. Happy Rush is concerning. Okumura takes armdrags, complains about hair pulls. Two quebradoras, and Okumura rolls out. Toscano screws with Ephesto on a handshake, and they just start wrestling. There's not much in between. Toscano stops him with quebradoras, so Yoshihashi rushes in to pounds him. Flying armdrag sends him going, and Toscano shoves Ephesto off the apron for good measure. Oh, a pescado too. Rush charge in, but the Japanese stop him. Eh's whipped back to his corner, Metro backdrops him to safety, and rush lands the plancha on both rudos. Rush looks very strong lighting Yoshihashi off the mat and dropping him back down.
2: Metro and Rush take turns chopping Yoshihashi as hard as they can. Yoshihashi begs them to stop. Rush hits him hard again. Yoshihashi pleads again, but this time is smart enough to hit metro while they're considering it. Other rudos rush into bail the poor fellow out. Lots of chopping the técnicos. Metro side steps a corner charge to start the comeback – seems a fall too early for that. Rush beheads Okumura with a superkick (which doesn’t hold up twice on the second viewing.) Yoshihashi saves his team by moving out of the way of a Metro dropkick, which gets Rush instead. Japanese boot out Metro. Toscano comes in with forearms to everyone's cheek, but stops to root in the crowd and gets kicked. Triple pump powerbomb for him, one two three.
3: Joined in progress. Metro chop and backdrops Okumura around, handles Ephesto easily (though not on the super armdrag) and bumps Yoshihashi off the apron without even thinking about it. Yoshihashi and Rush have a pose off! Yoshihashi has added weight, though not definition. Yoshihashi’s chop doesn't hurt, Rush dropkicks him down and loudly kicks him there. Rush asks the crowd to ask for one more, and they do. Loud chop. Another chop. Powerslam. Off the ropes, double stomp. Rush teasing throwing a punch at Okumura, backs off, and Okumura pulls him down by his hair. Okumura celebrates, takes a superkick. Hard kick to Yoshihashi’s chest, Rush stomps him out of the ring, and pose. Toscano still gets in the stop sign, though he has nothing to strip. Corner whip, Okumura flip Toscano to the apron and punches him to the floor. Okumura running slingshot tope con giro really doesn't get any distance. Toscano gets clonked by Okumura's leg, and can't keep Okumura's head from cracking on the floor. Técnicos in, both miss dropkicks. Rudo whip them other, they reverse, rudos collide, look at each, and are pulled into a German suplexes.
