Match 1: Leono, Metálico ©, Trueno vs Demus 3:16, Escorpion, Puma King ©
Arena Coliseo, 11/21/2010
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:23
Rating: rudos were fun, but the técnicos were not. Overall OK.
Notes: Referees are Bestia Negra & Pompin.
1: Singles pairs up don't go anything interesting, though it does prompt a discussion among the announcers about where Escorpion fits in for best rookie of the year. JCR picks Mortiz. Combos are Demus/Trueno, Escorpion/Metalico, and Puma/Leono. Last pair ends with a Leono springboard plancha to the floor. Rudos work together from there. Escoprion whips Trueno to Demus, whop sets him on top, slaps him and pulls him off for the valagueza. Escorpion slams Metálico and launches himself two-thirds cross the ring for a quebrada onto the técnico. That takes care of the fall.
2: Rudos in firm control. Demus & Puma pull off the giant swing/dropkick combo perfectly. Puma goes off to pose, which slows down his teammates waiting for him. Convoluted setup finally ends with Escorpion dropkicking Trueno off the apron. Metálico kind of sort of pulls himself thru the ropes to evade a Escorpion corner charge, and that's supposed to start the comeback. Metálico has to come back and slap Escorpion out first, then goes back out to the apron for a Asai moonsault. Not the most steady. Leono and Demus have trouble with whatever they're trying to do, and they're directly in front of the camera. Leono also doesn’t seem to be in the right spot at the right time for Puma, who tries to get caught on the ropes on a missed dropkick, does not, and is still positioning himself when Trueno flattens him with a with a double springboard moonsault. He's the captain, so that's three, but Leono puts a submission Demus too.
3: Metálico checks off the apron headscissors off his to do list. Demus strikes Trueno down with one punch and goes mad on him with punches for a moment. Demus charges into a double kick, and Trueno dropkicks him for two. Puma comes in to help, immediately armdragged out. Quebradora con giro for Demus ends him out. Escorpion and Leon have a chop fight, Escorpion wins by a kick. Leono comes back with a fireman's carry escape headscissors, but Escorpion kicks him down. Escorpion charges, and gets monkey flipped all the way too the floor. Leono teases a tope, but Escorpion is still down on the floor, and Demus is there to dropkick him. Trueno gets Demus with a headscissors, and sets up for an Asai, but Demus trips him up. Captains in, Metálico lands a running tope. Corner whip, Puma flips to the apron, Metálico hits the corner, Puma springboard in with a front cracker. Puma holds him up, and Escorpion springboard in for a backcracker too! That looked killer. Referee counts three, even though puma waved it off – Demus needs to get in a flying headbutt too! Referee refuses to count again, boo. Rudo fans sing.
Match 2: Fuego, Máximo ©, Toscano vs Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura ©, Yoshihashi
Arena Coliseo, 11/21/2010
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:02
Rating: eh
Notes: Fuego is part of the oddest teams. Referees are Pompin and Bestia Negra, again.
1: Pairs are Fuego/Okumura, Toscano/Pólvora (a fine time for twitter replies!) and Yoshihashi/Máximo . Crowd really wants the kiss. Yoshihashi just gets the armdrags, but Okumura gets the blocks/kiss. Okumura out, Fuego out after him with a nice running springboard plancha. Pólvora rushes in, takes a butt bump, and Máximo finishes off Yoshihashi with the jumping one as Toscano gets his finish on Pólvora.
2: Toscano starts to strip, Okumura charge shim, Toscano ducks, drops him with a backbreaker, and finishes stripping. At least he has a plan now. Okumura waits until he's done to attack him again, but Toscano stuff his own shorts in Okumrua's mouth. Nice spinning headscissors to send Okumura out. Fuego does his usual with Pólvora, including a quebradora on the floor. Rudos jump Máximo before he can get his hands on Yoshihashi and start the beatdown there. Pólvora missile dropkicks him. Fuego is fed up to Pólvora, and carefully dropped for an inverted superplex. Raziel goes that much better. Toscano set up top, and pulls off by Yoshihashi into a short armscissors. No idea why they needed him on top for that.
3: Either joined in progress, or the last fall just didn't stop. Yoshihashi stops just short of running face first into Maximo's backside, and the rudos slide out of the way of Maximo's plancha. Still, Fuego springboards in with an armdrag on Okumura to start the comeback. Remaining rudos knock him down. Whip, clothesline misses, Toscano boosts Fuego, and the rudo get dropkicked out. Técnicos run – tope and tope con giro. Captains left in. Okumura thinks he has a shot, and is angry with the fans chant for the other guy. Okumura off the ropes, right into the sit down powerbomb, one two three. Místico would be proud of the speed of that finish.
Fuego's dive was good, at least.
