The show starts with replays of battle royal eliminations. That's all I need from that match.
Match 1: Puma King & Tiger Kid vs Fabián el Gitano & Leono in an eightfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Fabián el Gitano & Leono
Match Time: 4:13
Rating: good in parts, depressing in finish
Notes: Leono and Puma area already in as they pick up. Leon gets Puma with an armdrag and a headstand headscissors before they both get trip each other up for zero counts. Lockup, Puma gets a double wristlock, Leono fights to reverse it and escape. With one wristlock still on, Leono walks up the ropes and armdrags Tiger off. Puma out, Leono slowly chases him up the aisle. Fabian and Tiger Kid in. Big weight difference here. Fabián snap mare, grounded crucifix for one, Tiger escapes, locks the legs and shakes Fabian by his hair. Bow ad arrow, Tiger picks him up, armdrag him over his shoulder, but Fabian manages an armdrag from the mat. Fabian gets a timeout to adjust his ponytail. Flip off the middle rope accomplishes nothing, out Tiger still feeds himself into an armdrag. Big hiptoss. The técnicos offense has been a bit lacking. Avoidance bits, and Puma ambushes Fabian with a missile dropkick. Leono tries top rope splash, but Puma moves in time. Double whip, double spinebuster, Puma rolls Leono backwards right in time for the dropkick to the backside. Tiger walks to the ropes, and boosts Puma into a big plancha on Fabi. Dives out there other side with a nice tornillo. That was all good. Tiger in and celebrating being awesome. High then, dive fake out, pose, kiss? Huh. Crowd gets on them for that. Tiger grabs Fabian, Puma superkicks, Fabian moves and Tiger eats it. Puma apologize, but runs right into a kick and a reverse neckbreaker of all things from Fabian. Leono gets Tiger with a single leg campana, and the dancers have somehow moved on. Announcers are surprised.
Match 2: Cancerbero & Raziel vs Metálico & Starman in an eightfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Cancerbero & Raziel
Match Time: 6:49
Rating: good, a surprise
Notes: Joined either at the instant Starman and Cancerbero happen to start the match, or maybe in progress. Metálico & Starman finally get to wear their matching gear as a tag team!
They do show mat work, so it may have just been joined like that. Match starts out like a normal first fall with these guys. Técnicos offense is generally not spectacular but executed well. Metalico has a nice Asai Moonsault and Starman gets in a tope. Starman nearly catches Raziel in a mercedora, but the rudo craws away and Nosferatu flattens Starman with a plancha. Metálico dropkicks the big man, but Raziel clotheslines Metalico. Starman gets Raziel in a sunset flip, and Cancerbero gets more of his own partner breaking it up. Técnicos go for a headscissors cradle and a 'rana for simultaneous pins, but the rudos kickout. Técnicos try for the same thing again, but Cancerbero powerbombs Metálico and breaks up Starman's pin. Starman's sent out, but it takes both the rudos to stop Metalico from chopping. Corner whip, Cancerbero flipped to the apron, but he fights Metalico off from there. Raziel grabs Metalico, suplex/top rope silla combo. Raziel covers, and that's three. Starman slaps Cancerbero, but Raziel blocks him from another slap. Double flapjack, Raziel hooks the legs, grabs the arms – and Cancerbero helps pulls him up – tapatía, plus a reverse facelock. That'll do.
Match 3: Delta & Diamante vs Dr. X & Hooligan in an eightfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Delta & Diamante
Match Time: 3:37
Rating: boot smashing
Notes: Definitely joined in progress.
Rudos are ramming Diamante into the corner as they pick up. Hooligan tosses him out. Delta in, and catching Hooligan’s kick, but Dr. X kicks him. Double backdrop for Delta. Double boot for him. Diamante takes the low blow dropkick from Dr. X. Corner clothesline for Delta, and he's thrown out. Diamante keeps asking for space every time he comes in, despite the rudo screwing him every time. This time, it's a kick to the ropes as he steps over them. Hooligan back drops Diamante, but he turns it into a sunset flip on Dr. X and, flips him up to take Hooligan’s dropkick. Delta in with a springboard headscissors, and both rudos are rolled out. Diamante teases dive, stops, looks at something, and then slides out thru the ropes. Diamante is fired up about something but doesn’t quite catch up with Hooligan. Dr. X and Delta accidentally to continue in the ring. X kicks Delta high, charge again, and gets tripped in the ropes. Delta walks up the ropes, top rope guillotine senton con giro for the three count. Hooligan kicks Delta, but Diamante gets him with a 'rana, but Hooligan rolls thru one two no. Diamante tries for more, but Hooligan spinebusters him hard. Hooligan stomps, then tries to unsnap a boot? Diamante start to get up, so Hooligan kicks him down. Hooligan pulls off one of his boot – and smacks Diamante with it repeatedly. Crowd approves. Tiger Hispano tries to get involved, but Hooligan doesn’t care. Hooligan tosses his boot away (badly time shot of the boot) and Diamante surprises him with an inside cradle, one two three.
For some reason, this match gets an introduction.
Match 4: Astro Boy & Trueno vs Loco Max & Virus in an eightfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Loco Max & Virus
Match Time: 4:30
Rating: OK
Notes: Joined with Astro Boy and Loco max head to head. Ref is Terror Chino
Fun bit with Loco Max on Astro Boy's back, staying on there as Astro Boy stands up, and battling for a chinlock. Astro tosses him off, only to be caught into a head/arm scissors on the mat. Loco Max isn't in a hurry to let go of his holds. Loco's submission moves stick out over Astro’s moves. Técnicos send Loco out with a weak wheel kick. Trueno/Virus is faster paced, Virus finally being dropped with a quebradora. Astro back in to get in his running front flip, plus a spinny bit that doesn’t actually go anywhere. Running up the ropes tornillo armdrag sends Loco to the ropes. Loco tries a clothesline, Astro blocks it and goes for the backbreaker, but Virus breaks that up and boots him out. Trueno looks unsteady by lands a plancha. Trueno charges, but Virus coops him up and drops him with a sort of flapjack. Half crab/half deathlock there, Anaconda Vice on Astro Boy and that's the fall.
Match 5: Fabian el Gitano & Leono vs Cancerbero & Raziel in a quarterfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Cancerbero & Raziel
Match Time: 3:20
Rating: OK.
Notes: Rudos jump técnicos coming into the ring. JCR keeps talking about Fabian and Leono being the big surprise of the tournament. Terror Chino is ref.
Rudos toss the técnicos around by the hair. Leono takes a flying sit to his back in the corner. Corner clothesline and boosted dropkick for Fabian. Double backdrop, double elbow drop for Leono. Fabian flips to escape Raziel, Cancerbero grabs him, that fails again. Stop trying to grab Fabián, he's just too oily! Leono planchas Raziel, Cancerbero elbows down his own partner, Fabian splashes them both, Leono holds him down, one two no. Fabian tosses into a boosted dropkick, but no one’s home. That looked extra painful for some reasons. Rudos tie the técnicos legs together – Gori Stretch on Leono, and a la de caballo by Cancerbero.
Match 6: Delta & Diamante vs Loco Max & Virus in a quarterfinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Delta & Diamante
Match Time: 3:49
Rating: OK
Notes: Not clipped. Rafa el Maya is ref.
Rudos want handshakes. These two técnicos may actually fall for something like that. They consider it for a while, the técnicos back off, and the rudos are all over them with slaps and kicks. Diamante is booted out. Delta held on the ropes with chokes. Virus flapjacks him into Loco Max's upraised boots. Delta held for kicks to the ribs. Diamante slide out on a corner whip, Virus chases, and runs right into a Delta headscissors. Diamante springboards back in with a sunset flip on Loco Max. One two kickout, though maybe Diamante gave up to soon. Diamante clothesline, Loco Max sort of catches it, then adjusts and pulls him into a Fujiwara. Delta returns to break that up with a dropkick. Delta misses a clothesline on Virus, Virus clips him and dropkicks him in the face. Diamante back in, clothesline misses, and Virus powerbombs him. Loco Max al the way up to add a splash, but Diamante moves and Loco hits nothing. Virus lefts Delta in an inverted Gori, but Diamante stops that with a kick, and Delta turns it over to get Virus in an inverted Gori of his own! Diamante puts Loco in a no hands tapatía, and the rudos give up at the same time.
Match 7: Delta & Diamante vs Cancerbero & Raziel in a semifinal of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament
Arena Coliseo, 10/10/2010
Winner: Delta & Diamante
Match Time: 5:27
Rating: OK
Notes: Delta is laid out in the ring, and Diamante is outside. Bestia Negra is ref. Loco Max is limping off in the background, so the rudos must've hurried out.
Replays of the last match finish, which takes up some time and seems beyond the point now. Back live, Rudos give Diamante a two man backbreaker. Delta is now the one outside the ring. Whip, double backdrop, Diamante managing to flip and land on his face in mid move! That was crazy. That deservers and gets a replay. Meanwhile, Delta breaks up a double team submission, ending the rudos out. Tope con giro by the técnicos, Diamante perhaps never actually touching Raziel.
Diamante and Raziel back in first, Diamante lighting Raziel with a dropkicks. Dos Caras Clutch, one two Raziel kicks out. Diamante shoulderblock, off the ropes, Cancerbero trips him up and Raziel connects on the dropkick to the face. Rudos discuss. Whip, clothesline misses, Raziel spinebusters Diamante anyway, Delta pulls Cancerbero down by his mask and springboards into a sunset flip on Raziel. One two and Cancerbero barely breaks it up in time. Rudos avoids a dropkick and kick the técnicos out – stereo topes!
Diamante ends up back in with the rudos. Raziel spinebuster, Cancerbero spins over his parnter's back for an elbow drop then spins his partner to slam him on top of Diamante. Delta breaks that up, because there's no other way it's happening. Rudos grab a técnico each, and send them into a opposing corners. Cancerbero whipped to Delta, Delta evades, Raziel charges, and Delta turns him around into a Diamante quebradora con giro. Delta dumps Cancerbero in front of the corner, Diamante readjusts his man, and they both go up. Neither Delta's moonsault nor Diamante's 450 splash hit right – Delta jumps too far, Diamante jumps too short, but they both cover for three.
JCR immediately starts hyping up the técnico vs técnico match next week.
