Match 1: Pequeño Olímpico, Saturno, Shockercito © vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia ©, Pequeño Warrior
Arena Coliseo, 07/25/2010
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:02
Rating: not particularly exciting or dramatic, but a bit memorable for the ease of finish.
Notes: Instead of posing backstage, the minis pose on the Arena Mexico ramp - in slow motion! - and then do their promo from there. This seems to take longer than usual, because the ring announcements are stretched out as if they're in slow motion. Also, why are they posing in Arena Mexico for a show in Arena Coliseo? Weird. They also do between the fall promos talking about the last fall, so this is clearly taped after the fact. Referee are Tirantes and Rodolfo Ruiz.
1: Pairs are Olímpico/Warrior (slow, not good), Saturno/Universo (not long) and Violencia/Shockercito. Saturno is still tall for a mini, but really skinny. If there was a bantamweight division, Saturno would have a hard time weighing enough to qualify. Flyweight, for sure. Warrior helps out Nitro on a sunset flip, and all the rudos come in to work over the smallest técnico here. Shockercito is powerbomb (thrown) into the top buckle for the pin. Técnicos only get involved when the pin is being made, and it's a bit too late.
2: Rudos control with corner charges, but Shockercito sidesteps Universo, who spears the post. Warrior takes a trip into the middle rope at high speed, and Shockercito gets Violencia with a nice headscissors. Shockercito has to dance around for the lack of anyone to hit, and he's still waiting when Warrior finally gets up. Dropkick misses, and Warrior slaps him down. Shockercito turns around a whip, Warrior kips up and flips away, Shockercito comes off the ropes, Warrior gives him the stop sign – well, they killed all the momentum here. More rope running, Shockercito puts up his own stop sign to kiss his biceps. Headscissors sends Warrior our, Shockercito follows with a tope. Saturno in with a springboard armdrag on Universo, and out with a swinging tornillo. Saturno fell on that like he got sniped. Olímpico finishes up with a nifty inside cradle into a half crab. That'll do.
3: Olímpico quickly rids the ring of Universo 2000, and the other rudos applaud avoid to being hit. Shockercito takes the corner charges this time, and ends up dropkicked out by Universo. Rudos stay in control by clotheslining Saturno around, and Violencia pull him out of the ring for Warrior's slingshot guillotine to the floor. Olímpico finally wakes up to attack Universo, but the numbers get to him. Violencia holds Olímpico for a double dropkick to the head. Shockercito is dropped by Warrior, Violencia adds a middle rope senton, and the rudos get an easy one two three. That's it. Even the rudos seem momentarily surprised with how easy that turned out to be.
Flashback to Panther losing his mask.
Match 2: Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Sagrado vs Charly Manson, El Alebrije, Olímpico
Arena Coliseo, 07/25/2010
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:12
Rating: OK. Felt like they were downplaying Charlie to test him out, until he suddenly beat the triple champion
Notes: No sign of Dorada when Panther & Sagrado do the promo. Better things to do on a Thursday? CMLL seems to be going with “Charlie” as the spelling on purpose, but what are the odds any of us are going to adjust to that? Since he's still Charly elsewhere, and also sometimes C. Manson, and also Charly Malice, a fourth simultaneous name is asking a lot. Tirantes and Ruiz are also the referees for this match, which is cut to a bit suddenly. Monito is hanging with the técnicos.
1: Panther & Charly start on the mat, which is pretty onesided for Panther, but Charlie doesn't get totally chumped. Invaders feel the need to rush in and stomp it out, but Charlie talks to both sides about staying out of it – he wants to prove something to himself, I guess. Mat wrestling continues, Panther gets Charlie in a figure four sleeper, Olímpico runs into break it up again, and Tirantes keeps the técnicos from interfering. Dorada and especially Sagrado are losing their minds over this. Back to work, with Panther immediately starting on an inverted figure four. Panther doesn't turn it over, as if it'll keep the rudos out. Not so much, Alebrije and Olímpico pound him, and Charlie takes care of the other técnicos. Alebrije and Charlie oddly decided to go to their own corner, leaving Olímpico alone. Well, not so much alone, since Tirantes hooks Panther's arm (to prevent the closed first punch, surely), so Olímpico can get in a kick. Tirantes intercede again when panther starts chopping, and again Olímpico takes advantage. Just can't keep it . Panther sunset rolls Olímpico into a Dorada springboard headscissors. Springboard flying armdrag for him, but Alebrije rips out Dorada with a clothesline and knocks down Sagrado as he comes in. Headbutt! Panther and Olímpico out outside while Alebrije gets Sagrado questionably low. Panther is slammed on the loud steps. Rudos bring it together on Sagrado. Spinebuster by Alebrije, Sagrado rolled to his feet, BRAINBUSTER! Someone's been enjoying the Lyger matches. Sagrado is done, oh yes. Olímpico tries a weird cradle on Panther, just to said he did.
Panther does his post-fall promo as if he's hurt, out of breath, and apparently transported arenas during segments.
2: Rudos still in control. Big team up move is everyone smacking the same técnico at once. Alebrije has big press on fingernails that are pretty bent by this point. Dorada eventually rescues Panther by pulling out Charlie. Sagrado storms in and superkicks Alebrije, and Panther clotheslines Olímpico. Revenge brawling, which is not shown in favor of a bad Monito dropkick. Dorada helps the mini get to the top rope for a splash on Olímpico., then goes over Alebrije’s head on a tope con giro. That's a big man to overshoot. Dorada lands on his feet, of course. Panther ties up Olímpico while Sagrado drops Charlie and lands the springboard moonsault (safely, for him.) Tied up.
3: Olímpico demands Monito, ends up getting into a boxing match with Panther, loses badly. TO the point where Panther is just on top of his m and punching until Manson breaks it up. Olímpico batters Panther chest slaps him around. Panther comes back with a reverse plancha, and sets up the nudo, but Alebrije breaks it up. Sagrado hops in to scare Alebrije and protect his teammate. Alebrije begs off, ends up getting headscissors out. Alebrije takes it to the floor, Sagrado headstands on the apron and headscissors him. Of course, the quebradora con giro on the floor too, that's required. Superkick to end that bit. Dorada and Charlie, this should be interesting. Announcers have mentioned Charlie as former heavyweight champion about six times already. If he kept that title, he could've been in the Universal tournament! CMLL really needs one more title, that's what I always say. Charlie takes Dorada's wacky offense well, and Dorada take a crazy monkey flip bump to the floor, landing on his feet and falling own. Charlie decks him with a tope, taking them both out of play. Panther and Olímpico start, as soon as Panther is done firing up the crowd. Olímpico takes down Panther, picks him back up, and Panther grabs him in the armbar. Alebrije makes the save in time, and Olímpico clears Sagrado off the apron as Alebrije tries to brainbuster Panther. First try is a screw up, second try goes a lot better. One two three. I thought those were the captains, but the fight goes on. Sagrado reverses a toss into a 'rana on Alebrije, but Olímpico breaks it up. Too bad Olímpico accidentally kicks Alebrije on the next pass. Sagrado pulls a Sagrado and comes up woefully short on a tope to Alebrije. Olímpico surveys the damage, waits for a sign that Sagrado will actually make it to his feet, and then adds his own slingshot tope con giro. Back to Dorada and Charlie. Dorada springboard inverted tope, one two NO. Wow, a kickout. Announcers inform us that Dorada is the captain, just as Dorada goes for another springboard inverted tope. This time, Charlie is ready – dropkick to the back. Charly grabs the legs and wastes no time – el Pozo! Dorada gives up right away.
Replays, dancing, done.
