Not as many Sin Salida promos this week. The usual announcers talking about the particapants in the matches seem to come right after they've been eliminated. Promos air throughout the show. The Tuareg and Cometa do their promos before the match gets started.
Match 1: Rush vs Pólvora, Sagrado, Nosferatu, Delta, Skándalo, Metro, Arkangel de la Muerte, Fuego, Dr. X, Hooligan, Rey Cometa in a cibernetico match
Arena Coliseo, 05/30/2010
Dr. X double armscissors Rey Cometa (10:21)
Winner: Rush
Match Time: 32:51
Rating: overall better than okay but some iffy sequences and one near death
Notes: Hooligan looks like some sort of punk zebra. Match is joined just as everyone leaves the ring, though there's no opening whistle.
Pólvora and Sagrado start, Sagrado getting an armdrag and Pólvora wasting no time complaining about his mask being pulled. Sagrado responds by armdragging him again and posing. That's it for them.
Rush and Nosferatu in, and announcers waste no time with the obligatory Infernales mention. It's better than this matchup. First sequence of armdrags doesn't seem quite right. Maybe that's why Rush stands over Nosferatu, looks down, and very visibly discusses something with the mask man. Rush has an armbar on, but Nosferatu armdrags to one of his own. Hiptosses and zero leg trips and Rush going for Nosferatu's mask for no particular reason.
Tags, and it's Metro vs Arkangel. Arkangel easily breaks free of a hammerlock with an armdrag, and decides to go for holds. First there's an inverted cloverleaf, then there's a chinlock Indian deathlock, then into a cavernaria variation, then just pulls Metro's arms behind while putting two feet in his back. Arkangel manages to hold Metro in the air by one foot while grabbing both his arms, but only for a second before Metro spins loses and almost falls. Arkangel goes for a takedown to get Metro down again, but Metro just holds m off for a second. Back to their feet, chop fight. Arkangel wins via headbutt. Whip, quebradora con giro by Metro, and Arkangel decides to check out.
Fuego and Dr. X. They both look at each other to see who's going to go first, then both go first and don't much sell the kick or punch. Fuego walks Dr. X around to the corner, whips him to the other, and clap his hands. Fuego is expecting Dr. X to come back, but Dr. X is expecting to hang out in the corner, and only starts running again after a second. Backdrop. Only getting better form here. What's with Dr. X's split doctor mask? Noted giant Fuego tries a running big boot, misses, and gets his leg caught on the rope. Dr. X kicks Fuego's other leg out from under him and stomps him on the mat. Corner whip, no, stop, no, back the same way, and Fuego with a urn up the ropes armdrag. Dr. X clothesline, Fuego back bend and Fuego advance. Springboard headscissors sends Dr. X sliding out, but Fuego is running after him – tope! A bit early for that.
Delta and Hooligan in. Shoving match, Delta probably isn't going to win that. Hooligan's Mohawk is so long, this gear makes him look like some version of Silver King's Bronco gimmick, but transported to the year 3000. It's a look, let me tell you. Delta flips around to escape for a bit, Hooligan throws a punch, Delta hooks him in a full nelson, Hooligan drops to his back, Delta is absolutely baffled. Like he forget his sequence for a second and is trying to remember what comes next. Delta uses Hooligan's knees to handspring past him, runs up the ropes, and comes down with a headscissors. Delta runs for a dive, slows down, and cartwheels in a lean over the top rope and into a spinning headscissors on the floor. That was impressive, so much that Delta gets back in and yells before the rudos can beat him up for being too close to them.
Skándalo in, and flipping Cometa with a clothesline. Skándalo is fired up. Whip, Rey Cometa cartwheel thru, and back for a fireman’s carry escape armdrag. Cometa leapfrogs over Skándalo, shoulderblock and handspring into a wacky spinning top headscissors. Skandalo goes out, and Cometa flattens him with an extremely tight tornillo. That was superb.
Back to Sagrado and Pólvora. Sagrado cartwheels over a drop down headscissors Pólvora on the next pass. Pólvora tries a clothesline, but Sagrado chases him – quebrada con giro, spun back the other way for a gutbuster. Pólvora out, Sagrado tags out.
Nosferatu and Rush in. Hard chest by Nosferatu, knocking Rush to his knees. Loud chop back. Hard chop back Nosferatu. Rush dropkicks, and loudly kicks him. Rush off the ropes, over, under, rolling over, under a clothesline, and kicking Nosferatu when his head down is to low. Rush rushes to the middle rope to pose – mix of boos and cheers. Back to work. Whip for Nosferatu, over, and overhead belly to belly suplex for Nosferatu. That’s a lot of weight to move. Dropkicks sends Nosferatu out, and Rush’s running sends Nosferatu away from the ring to avoid the dive. Tags, but first a break.
They have to blur out the fall cards in the usual edecan bits, since there’s no falls. They couldn't, like, just not show them, no.
Back to Arkangel and Metro. This time, Metro decides to fly. Springboard plancha knocks Metro down, and Arkangel drops him with a rolling jumping back elbow on the next pass. Metro rolls out, Arkangel hustles to the apron, stops to scream “SIIII”, then goes to the top – plancha on Metro! Even better, Metro is on the floor on the wrong side of town, close enough to the rudos for everyone to stomp him down. Delta and Flash run into help, but they're not the most threatening duo. Meanwhile, Dr. X has rolled in as required – except, while he's still on the mat, all the técnicos have rushed in to stomp him! Rudos realize it and rush in, and there's a big standoff. Metro and Rush get in their own shots before the refs can clear everyone out. Near riot there.
Comet holds Dr. X down while waiting to restart. Standing moonsault, one two no. Dr. X misses a clothesline, Cometa 'rana, one two NO. Fireman's drop, heading up. 450 splash, Dr. X moves, Cometa lands on his feet and rolls thru, Dr. X grabs him in a full nelson, full nelson bomb and double arm scissors – that's it, Cometa gives and is first out. 6-5.
Fuego and Skándalo in, Skándalo taking out Fuego's knee with a dropkick to the knee. Corner whip, corner clothesline. Hooligan holds Fuego's legs from the apron – I think Arkangel also helps hold from the floor, and Fuego is stuck in the corner for Skandalo's dropkick to the groin. Skándalo hangs Fuego across the middle rope, and Hooligan adds a top rope senton con giro. Hooligan stomps Fuego, then rushes across the ring to throw a punch at Sagrado for no apparent reason. Hooligan back up to the middle of the ring, unzips his left boot, pulls it off, and starts beating Fuego with it! The técnicos are appalled, but this is all interrupted by a Sin Salida ad
Referee is trying to get Hooligan's boot against him, which seems kind of unfair. He came to into the match with a shoe. Hooligan stops to taunt Delta – on the apron complaining - to come in and do something about it. Figure four – no, Fuego small package one two three. Big cheer for Fuego's sneak pin. 5-5.
Sagrado and Arkangel in. This time, Arkangel will do a discus clothesline. He's in an odd mood. Corner whip, Sagrado tries a corner headscissors, Arkangel calmly allows his head to be hooked, then waits, then shoves Sagrado to the apron. Sagrado blocks a punch and knocks Arkangel to the mat with a swing kick. Corner whip, springboard plancha. Arkangel is right back up and slapping. Off the ropes, running, charges, and Sagrado pulls down to top rope. Arkangel flies over, then gets run over by Sagrado’s tope.
Metro and Skandalo in, and after some stuff that goes nowhere, Skándalo clotheslines Metro. Corner whip, Skandalo clothesline, corner whip, Metro puts on the breaks at the last second and rolls away from the corner. It was a different escape, just in time for Skandalo to run into the corner. Monkey flip for Skándalo, who reacts as if he would prefer never to do that again. Metro immediately gives him another. Skandalo gets out of there before another one can hit, but stands right in position, and Metro knocks him down with a tope. Nosferatu in, but break.
Hiroka and Julio Cesar talk about Hiroka's child.
Delta's promo ends right as Dr. Dre is about to loudly say a profanity. That was so great timing it couldn't have been accident.
Back in the match, Nosferatu tries his tope, but gets his feet caught and barely makes it. He's up in top to catch Rush's top rope plancha. Dr X. waits for them to get up to five himself, but Delta is waiting for him. Dropkick misses, Dr. X dropkick misses, Delta 'rana, Dr. X powerbombs himself one two Dr. X lets go?!?!? This sort of decision making is how you get into a feud with Fabian el Gitano. Whip, Delta grabs the ropes, Dr. X charges again, Delta moves, Dr. X hangs himself in the ropes, Delta runs up the corner, and comes off with a senton con giro. Dr. X must be under the ropes – his arm is actually hooked under the rope until Dr. X realizes what he's doing – but the referee counts it for three. Rudos are displeased.
Pólvora in and knocking down Delta. Announcers talk about this being a Gran Alternativa rematch. Pólvora flapjacks Delta, then dropkicks him in the face. Delta rolls out, so that didn't go any better for him. Fuego in, surprising Pólvora with a springboard dropkick. Kneebar – but Skándalo rushes in and breaks it up with many stomps. Corner whip, Pólvora charges in, Fuego moves, Pólvora spears the post. Inside cradle on Skandalo, but he rolls thru. Fuego’s quebrada just bumps Skandalo, but jumping spin kick knocks the big man down. Open hand slap. Corner whip, Fuego is slow charging in, Skandalo flips him up, pulls him out of the corner, and walks almost cross ring before delivering on the Skándalo Driver. 4-4, as the rudo fans sing their song.
Double teaming Metro fails, and Metro superkicks Skandalo out. Arkangel sticks in to headlock Metro, slowly backing him up to the ropes. Metro shot off, Arkangel back with a clothesline, but Metro's not going down. Metro grabs his own arm in hand, then points at the crowd. Crowd behind Metro. Skandalo misses a clothesline, but is pulled over for a big armdrag. One two no. Metro pulls Arkangel up, but Ark breaks free to chop him. Whip, reversed, double clothesline. Both have an arm over each other, one two double kickout. Ark Northern Lights Suplex. One two kickout. Arkangel might have his own shoulder down. Metro German suplex, one, Arkangel fails his legs, breaking the bridge, but Metro still holds on while both are laying on the mat, one two three. Arkangel tried kicking free, but Metro held on – to his own detriment, since his shoulders were down too. 3-3.
Rush and Skándalo in. Skandalo’s not happy about this, and Rush superkick him out on the first move. Skandalo just hangs outside, dizzy, and Rush topes him. Pólvora runs over to the técnico corner, kicks Delta off the apron, and climbs up top – plancha onto Rush. Sagrado in, off the ropes, tope con giro onto Pólvora. Nosferatu on the apron – what's he going to try? Sagrado probably saves him by grabbing his legs, and Delta kicks Nosferatu the rest of the way off. Delta ready for his dive – running up the ropes then down the other side, springboard headscissors – except he doesn't catch Nosferatu and Nosferatu doesn't catch him), and splat on the floor goes Delta. Four or fifth time I've seen this spot at this point, and it’s still horrible booming noise that gets me. Delta tries to get up, but Sagrado yells NO, forcing him to stay down. Pólvora takes a look before rushing to the rudos corner, and the ringside doctor is speedily over to help. Skándalo and Rush are already back in to distract from the injury, with Skandalo clotheslining Rush and chopping him on the ropes. Whip, head down too soon, and rush kicks Skandalo in the back side. Skandalo charges, and Rush drops him with his fireman's carry bomb. 3-2.
Pólvora dropkick sends Rush back out. And us to break.
Pólvora is looking the wrong way, and Sagrado tries to surprise him with a superkick. Except, Sagrado pulls up short on a kick, just enough to make Pólvora flinch. Odd. Open hand slap battle. They strike back and forth as the announcers rule Delta out of the match. He's just being put on the stretchered right now. Back live, Sagrado tries to lock Pólvora in a tirabuzón, but Nosferatu breaks that up. What is Nosferatu doing left in this long? He leaves, Pólvora can barely hold Sagrado down, and frantically waves for Nosferatu to comeback in. Nosferatu kicks Sagrado and takes over. Whip, Sagrado 'rana, Nosferatu rolls thru, one two no. Sagrado tries a bodyscisssors, Nosferatu has problems holding on to him, then drops him for a face first powerbomb. One two no, Pólvora walks across the apron to argue that count. Nosferatu clothesline, Sagrado catches his arm, scoops him up, drops him on his back, moonsault, one two three. Sagrado & Rush left versus Pólvora.
Pólvora does not like these situation, nor does he like the crowd rooting for the other man. Pólvora misses a clothesline, tries a springboard 'rana, and is dropped into a powerbomb. One two NO. Sagrado off the ropes, sunset flip, roll thru, Pólvora misses a dropkick, and Sagrado knees him in the back of the head. One two no. Why is Rush walking around on the floor? Sagrado again tries a ‘rana, against gets powerbomb, one two no. Crowd seems more behind Pólvora. A rudo crowd tonight. Pólvora clothesline is caught, and Sagrado drops him with a sort of moonsault. Sagrado going up again – Sagrado moonsault eats knees. Sagrado is down, and Pólvora finishes him in a tilted cloverleaf. It's down to Pólvora and Rush.
Strike fight ends in a Pólvora clothesline. One, two, Rush kickout. Rush wasn't in quite a hurry to countout there. Pólvora clothesline is caught, and Rush drops him wit a back suplex. One two no. Break for Sin Salida ad. Rush tries a 'rana, and again Pólvora powerbombs someone. Rush gets his foot on the ropes and Pólvora holds onto the ropes, which both the inside and outside referee spot. Pólvora yells, lets go, and get the count one – hand back on the ropes! - two kickout. Refs saw the hand again so it might not have counted. Pólvora walks around a bit before following up with chops and shoulders. Corner whip, Rush charges in, Pólvora flips him to the apron, and charges again, Rush slaps him away, and knocks him down with a missile dropkick. Rush coops up Pólvora, fireman's carry bomb, and the el Amarre again. Hey, I know Rush's two finishes now! Knowledge I will take to my grave! Something happens here – Pólvora either gives up super quick and Rush has it on too long, yanking Pólvora head down. Rush then smashes the back of the back of Pólvora’s head into the mat, then holds him down for a second. It's like he thought he had to do a pinfall, but Rush follows by posing for the win. Seemed like issues there. Rush is very happy about winning the match anyway, and they actually play his music for winning.
