CMLL Guerreros del Ring on 52MX #235 (05/22/2010)
Recap: 05/28/10
Clip: Sombra drops Psicosis in position for the rope flip moonsault, but as he climbs the ropes, Mr. Aguila sweeps him off the ropes. Mascara Año 200 and Universo 2000 are with him and stomping Sombra in no time. Psicosis celebrates and helps stomp. Tiger Hispano only stop the rudos long enough to raise Sombra’s arm. Those guys came thru the crowd, but now coming thru another side of the crowd is Rayo de Jalisco Jr. He's got a guitar. Universo has Sombra up for the Black Hammer, but Rayo stops him with a guitar shot to the head. Guitar almost totally disintegrates on impact, but Rayo hits Aguila with what's left as the rudos scatter. Sombra recovers enough to swing thru the ropes and kick the rudos down. Sombra stops to pose with Rayo, then chases after the rudos for a moment, as they flee back thru the crowd. Later, an out of breath Rayo talks to Julio Cesar about his return. He's 100% CMLL, fighting off the invaders.
Match 1: Lady Apache, Luna Mágica ©, Marcela vs La Seductora, Princesa Blanca ©, Yeska
Arena Mexico, 05/16/2010
rudas
Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 14:26
Rating: not good
Notes: Blanca talks about her team being complete – beautiful and strong. Luna's announced as captain, but they play Apache's music. Maybe it's because Lady Apache and Marcela handle the interview. Marcela has nice looking gear.
1: Luna & Yeska get the long opening sequence. This is becoming a thing. Highlight is Yeska trying a puente Olímpico type in on Luna Mágica, and taking so long, the referee has counted one two and Luna kicks out before she's finished with the back bridge. Nice bit of camera work to hide a botched headscissors by Luna to end the bit. The stuff before isn't horrible, but the crowd still boos when they’re done. Blanca and Apache are doing well, until Apache tries her run up the ropes armdrag, and Blanca just forgets to take the bump. Not sure what happened, bud, but they're lost for a few seconds, and get it back together long enough for a rope grab headscissors. Crowd boos. Crowd is not in the mood! Marcela and Seductora are last. Seductora has new gear too, including odd looking garter belt like thing. Marcela takes control with a missile dropkick, then drops Seductora with the double underhook backbreaker. Back to the first pair. Luna trips up Yeska, cartwheeled over here, and gets knocked own via Blanca dropkick. Beatdown. The other técnicos are cleared out, and the rudas have trouble with whatever triple submission they're trying on Luna. It's so of an inverted figure four, double armbar thing that doesn't come off well.
2: Rudas still in control. Corner charges on Lady Apache. Badly timed double suplex on Luna Mágica, followed by a sweet falling backwards middle rope back press by Yeska. Though, Luna isn't much moving after that. A referee checks on her for the next minute, and scoots he slowly thru the ropes. Rudas are not paying enough attention, trying to whip Apache into that corner. Luna still isn't all the way out of the way, so Apache smartly just falls down short. Rudas regroup in the now cleared corner. Marcela return from wherever to try and break it up, but Apache is able to start the comeback on her own. Backdrop sends Yeska tumbling out, headscissors/headlock almost totally works. Lady Apache leads the rudas into Marcela’s missile dropkick, then the surviving técnicas finish of the other rudas. Haven't seen Marcela's submission before.
3: Princesa Blanca runs from Lady Apache to start the fall. Blanca returns, kills time regrouping. Luna and Yeska start of the fall again, so I guess Luna is okay. Yeska tries for a springboard something, but misses the ropes, falls down, and gets back up laughing. Which is good, because so is the crowd. Luna has to redo a slap spot near the end of their bit, just because it's the spot she has to do before doing her next spot. Apache & Blanca are barely in and then broken up by the other two. Marcela catches Seductora in an inverted triangle – catches both arms, actually. That's random. Seductora might have given here, but no one makes it clear. Blanca knocks Marcela out with a back elbow clear. Lady Apache bounces Blanca around and tries to whip her into a missile dropkick, but Blanca reverses and Luna kicks her partner. Blanca follows Apache out with a double jump plancha (Marcela helping to catch.) Yeska misses a top rope plancha that wasn't close, and Luna immediately locks on a cloverleaf w/armbar, and that's the finish.
Match 2: Brazo de Plata ©, Héctor Garza, Toscano vs El Alebrije, Histeria ©, Maniaco
Arena Mexico, 05/16/2010
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-0)
Match Time: 10:43
Rating: more angle than match
Notes: Joined prematch, with Porky rushing and knocking over Alebrije on the ramp. Histeria and Maniaco are confused and stare, but it's Garza who pulls Porky off. Break away for captains.
In that time, the rudos are now in charge, working over Porky in the ring. Toscano has been thrown out, and Garza is standing on Monito and apologizing for it later. Garza is pleasing for a time out? Porky has a lot of loose skin, so he must actually be losing weight. Invasors work over técnicos, Garza begs off and keeps accidentally hurting Monito. Garza keeps accidentally looking away and pulling his arm back when Toscano reach for a tag, and the crowd gets on him for it. Garza kicks invisible dir in their direction. When the rudos dispose of Toscano, it's Garza turn to come in, but Garza suddenly has a hamstring pulls. It's recovered enough to hold Monito in position for Cuije to beat up. Meanwhile, Rudos give Porky a triple snap kick, then toss Cuije down for the pin. That's enough for this fall but the rudos are perhaps unaccustomed to captains rules actually being used, and try to pin Toscano after a triple powerbomb. Even after they've been warned, Maniaco adds a top rope tope con giro. No excessive violence DQ. Rudos go to grab Garza, but Garza lays out on the mat. Cuije dramatically covers him, and Alebrije counts three. Cuije is so proud.
2: Garza is the best at accidentally stepping on Monito. Maniaco pulls out a spiked bat he must've brought to the ring with him – it was in a bag previously – and shows it off to crowd. Maniaco comes in the ring with the bat and threatens to use it on Garza. Garza screams in terror. Clearly, Maniaco thinks this is legal, because he's was in AAA matches. Garza slides out to avoid being hit, Toscano tries to throw him right back in, but Garza's limping again. Referees confiscate the bat from Maniaco before he can use it, so they triple team Porky instead. Of course, kicking Porky causes him to butt bump the guy behind him, and life is tough for Alebrije when he's got a face first of Porky’s back side. Plancha on Histeria and Maniaco when they drop down too soon. Guess that's the comeback. Porky leads chants while the rudos recover. Toscano showcase includes Maniaco outdoing Yeska's earlier bump to the floor with a crazy one after a monkey flip, and Cuije trying shin kicks on Toscano, only to be thrown like a missile to knock down Alebrije. Técnicos insist on Garza coming, Garza's not too down with the idea, but has no choice. Break as Garza continues stall.
Garza starts to wrestle, if doing the stop sign bit is wrestling. Garza throws his shirt at Porky, who throws it to the crowd. Garza shoves him for that, shake Alebrije's hand, shakes Histeria’s hand, shakes Maniaco’s hand, shakes Cuije's hand. Porky storms in and shoves Garza, Garza shoves him down. Toscano storms in and chest slaps Garza, but Alebrije and the rest of the rudos are on him. Alebrije whip, boost, and Toscano comes down with a dropkick on the other two. Alebrije big boots Toscano out, then turns - so see Garza calling for a timeout. Alebrije asks the crowd, then chest slaps Garza once, Garza yells at him for hitting him so hard, then threatens Cuije voice. Corner whip, Alebrije charges in, Garza flips him to the apron (!), Alebrije lead thru the ropes, Garza loudly kicks him to the floor, Alebrije tumbles down onto his back, and Monito splashes him. Histeria in, flipping Garza to the apron a charge, Garza punches him away, but Alebrije yanks him off the apron, and holds him for a Cuije tope. Garza, despite being held, catches Cuije, then tosses him to Alebrije. Garza complains to Toscano (standing there and watching), Alebrije grabs Garza again, but Porky belly bumps Histeria out before he can dive. The group on the floor comes together, and Porky plancha them all from the apron. Toscano back in, and springboard dropkicking Maniaco. One two no. Toscano jumps into a 'rana, more agility than usual, but only gets a one count. Maniaco charge into a scoop slam, and Toscano heads up – but Garza trips him up. That finish looks familiar. Toscano tumbles to the mat, and Maniaco covers him. One two three.
Porky tries to come in, but Garza cuts him off with a kick as he comes thru the ropes. Maniaco is so happy about getting his pinfall. Garza feeds himself for an Alebrije inside cradle for the other pin, one two three.
Rudos celebrate. Garza walks over Monito more. Cuije yells and challenges Toscano to a fight. Rudos corner Garza, but he makes peace by raising their arms. Garza's not sure what the fans could possibly be angry about here.
Replays, and that's it.
