Match 1: Ángel Azteca Jr., Diamante, Fabián el Gitano © vs Dr. X ©, Puma King, Tiger Kid
Arena Mexico, 05/02/2010

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:29
Rating: eh. Absolutely no interest in Dr. X vs Fabian's big match.
Notes: Cats handle the promo for their team, Azteca & Diamante for their team.

1: Crowd tremendously hates Fabian this week. Dr. X surprisingly sheds him quick, sending him out with a clothesline and following with an Asai Plancha. Tiger Kid whips Diamante into a Puma King missile dropkick, and the Gatos give Azteca a powerbomb/backcracker combo. Tiger and Puma battle to the top rope to set up Tiger's sunset flip bomb for the pinfall.

2: Beatdown. Cats helpful hold Fabián for Dr. X to taunt. Dr. X isn't even that concerned with hitting Fabian at first, and just wants to tell him how much he sucks. I think Fabian knows. Snap kicks for Angel Azteca Jr. I don't know about Diamante's red outfit here. He tries hoping in the ring and the rudos just kick him. Spinebuster for him, and the Cat-A-Pult, but the rudos break up their own count. Diamante thrown out. Fabian in and charging Dr. X. His help isn't in such a hurry to break it up. They seem unconcerned. What is with Puma's neon green tights with black stars? Not very cat-ish. Fabián clotheslines in the corner, then held legs split for Dr. X's low blow dropkick. Fabian escapes a double hiptoss to land on his feet, and leads the Cats into a double superkick of Dr. X. Diamante and Azteca sends the Gatos out with an armdrag and missile dropkick (surprisingly, Azteca is not the one using the armdrag), then follow with tope con giros. Diamante skids right over Puma's head and lands on his feet on the other side, that's always fun. Captains left in. Fabian misses a clothesline, still grabs Dr. X's arms for the Cruz Nipona. Dr. X gives up, but Fabian tosses him on the mat and tries to untie the mask. Fabián unties it, then lets go to kick Dr. X a bit. Referees give him a lot of leeway – a DQ would've been justified there.

3: Azteca runs Tiger Kid out of the ring with armdrags. Distracted from Puma and Diamante's exchange by a giant ad for another 52MX show. Puma goes after Diamante's mask for no apparent reason. Diamante chops him down and repays the mask untying. Diamante sends Puma out with a springboard flipping armdrag and a flipping dropkick. Puma retreats to the ramp,a nd Diamante backs him up even further. Fabian dropkicks Dr. X all around and tries to hook on a submission, but Tiger Kid breaks it up. Happily for Fabian, no one booed that time. They just didn't make any noise at all. Diamante faces Tiger, and ends up taking the dropkick tot he but spot. This causes Diamante to climb up to the middle rope, and Puma comes running back in with a flying sunset flip bomb. Tiger sends Diamante out with a superkick, then Puma helps him to the top rope for a tornillo on top. Azteca springboard plancha Puma, off the ropes, waved by, right into a tope on Tiger. Puma waits for his spot, off the ropes, off the ropes, and back with a big slingshot tope on top of everyone. Dr. X and Fabian back in, they're tentative on hiptosses yet again. Dr. X goes for Fabian's mask, Fabián blocks and pulls off Dr. X's mask, and that's a DQ to end it.

Fabian continues to stomp Dr. X after the match is called.

Fabian & Dr. X, wearing different mask than their match, make challenges to each other backstage.

Match 2: El Alebrije, Histeria, Psicosis vs Brazo de Plata, La Sombra ©, Toscano
Arena Mexico, 05/02/2010

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:55
Rating: fine. Not super great but worked for the feud.
Notes: There's no teams graphics or pre-match interviews for this match, though they air Psicosis' promo from Ras de Lona. Nice black and purple color scheme for the Independents.

1: Sombra out wrestles Psicosis, getting him into something of a tirabuzón, so the rest of the rudos rush the ring and attack. Crowd is not especially loud for this. Porky is hooked in the corner to be hit, so he doesn't have to fall anywhere. Psicosis suplexes Toscano, then adds a top rope elbow drop, but that's not the pin. Sombra is bounced around, with Alebrije running him out of the ring via shoulderblock. Vipers spinebusters Porky, and Alebrije gives Cuije a sidewalk slam onto porky. Cuije celebrates, and Histeria and Psicosis add dropkicks. Quebrada by Histeria, and that's one pin. Fall continues – announcers actually say Sombra is the captain, how helpful. Corner clothesline for Toscano, swinging kicks to knock him towards the center to the ring, and Alebrije adds a spear. Rudos turn Toscano around on the mat, and Cuije climbs to the middle rope – low blow headbutt drop. Pin? No, they let Toscano go, as the announcers discusses that moves being a foul. Triple boo for Sombra to knock him to his knee, triple snap kick. Histeria and Psicosis lift Sombra straight up, and Alebrije runs thru with a spear, flipping Sombra over and onto the mat. That's Ragnarok from CHIKARA's BDK. As Rob pointed out, someone was taking notes at King of Trios! Rudos pile on for the second pin.

2: Técnicos not in a hurry to star,t but that's because they can't get only one rudo to say in at a time. Sombra comes in, only for Psicosis to kick him right to Alebrije, with Histeria slapping Porky and keeping Toscano form getting involved. Porky makes the comeback by being too far for Histeria to charge into. Double clothesline to Psicosis and Alebrije. Sombra missile dropkick Histeria, while Toscano just doesn't come in. Sombra drops Alebrije in front of the corner, and drops on him with a rope flip senton. Toscano & Porky soon get their finishes.

Toscano and Sombra grab Cuije, and give him the world's smallest double suplex. Porky splashes the poor fellow. Sombra has to give him chest compressions to help him breath again. Crowd chants for one more, and Toscano tries to help Porky to get to the middle rope, but the rudos pull Cuije to safety in time. They probably saved his life right there.

3: Toscano is too busy taking off his shorts to pay attention to Psicosis. Psicosis kicks him down as Super Porky catches the pants, faints, and then takes a whiff of the shorts. I am disturbed! Psicosis demands the shorts, and then promptly tosses them into the crowd. That's not nice! Neither is Psicosis getting tossed around by Toscano. Flying armdrag sends Psicosis out. Alebrije dropkicks Toscano down, and struts a little about it. Toscano lands on his feet after backdrop to the apron, and comes back in with an armdrag for Alebrije. Histeria is last, and Toscano gets him with a headscissors. Pose – to boos. Porky and Alebrije in. Slap/butt pinch fight. Of course. Alebrije holds Porky for his partner to kick, but then Porky simply pushes them into the corner, knocks them down with a butt shot, backs all the way up, gets slapped by Sombra, then charges in for a running sit. Porky sets up for another, but the rudo scatter. I don't know to say this, but Porky is really jiggling up top this week. I don't know if that means he's lost weight and now everything's loose, but it's hard not to notice. Porky hipchecks Cuije while he's at, it, but Psicosis and Histeria kick Porky away. Sombra plancha them both, duck a clothesline, and gets booted into a dropkick by Toscano. High ten, double dive – Toscano tope, Sombra springboard plancha. Alebrije and Porky back in, and Alebrije did not want to see Porky. Alebrije is completed to try a sunset flip, of course, and Porky sits on him. One two Porky gets up. Alebrije pushed him a little, I guess. Porky calmly grabs Cuije as he charges in, slams him, and starts climbing up. Porky gets to the middle rope on his own, but no farther – Mascara Año 2000 and Universo 2000 have arrived to attack Porky, tossing him off the middle rope. That there is a DQ and a sickening turn of events.

Rudos are only paused from their beatdown long enough to get Porky's arm raised, and then they get back to stomping Porky and then Sombra. Toscano tries to pull Sombra to safety, wins the tug of war, but the brothers just come out after Sombra anyway. They don't really go after Toscano, who probably could've been more actively defending his friends here. Independents pose in the ring with Sombra and Toscano down on the outside, and Porky out (but occasionally stomped) in the ring. Técnicos take back the ring, but Universo thrashes Sombra when he tries to get revenge, the two rolling around on the mat with him, with Toscano really no help again. Porky tries tipping up Mascara's Nuevo caps shirt, but the numbers get to him. That's it.

Instead of an ending dance number, they end with the beatdown.
