Recap: 05/14/10

Match 1: Dalys la Caribeña, Estrella Mágica, Lady Apache © vs Amapola ©, La Seductora, Princesa Sujei
Arena Coliseo, 04/25/2010

  2. rudas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 12:08
Rating: eh
Notes: Lady Apache has the PWR Women's Championship, which we've seen more often than both Amapola and Princesa Blanca's title combined. No surprise! Seductora, future world champion, is not invited to the interview with Amapola & Princesa Blanca. The graphic is going with “Dallys” in the team graphic, then “Dalys” on the falls graphic. No one knows!

1: Showcase fall for the most part. Seductora/Dalys is smooth, but maybe too much so – as if they'd be working on it all week (maybe they had.) Sujei is amused by Magica challenging her. Magica's offense doesn't look good (although the falling down armdrags are kind of unique) btu that's kind of expected. Lady Apache runs all over Amapola until Sujei get sin a kick from outside, but Seductora coming into help leads to the end game. A bad swinging headscissors on Seductora sends her out for Lady Apache's apron tope con giro, and the novatas finish the more experienced rudas. Can't believe Magica beat Amapola with a Gedo clutch of all things.

2: Ring girl is mock scared of Sujei. That's not cool. Dalys gets in one spinning armdrag on Seductora before the rudas have had enough of this and storm the ring of a beatdown. Estrella gets thrown around like a ragdoll, as usual. Triple snap kick for Apache. As Amapola throws Estrella into the ropes, Sujei tries to do the same to Apache, but Apache reverses it. This is somehow part of Sujei's plan, because she ends up escaping a quebradora and locking on a fujiwara armbar. You probably didn't need the whip for that. Meanwhile, Amapola puts Magica in a inverted nudo lagunero – Estrella upside down for it. Refs call off the fall, but Seductora still puts Dalys in a surfboard. Dalys isn't so hurt after that she can't lift up her head to fix her hair. Priorities!

3: Rudas still in charge. Lady Apache and Dalys are lined up on the mat so Amapola can drop Sujei into a legdrop on the both. Sujei covers Dalys, but picks her up at 2. Estrella has issues going over for a double backdrop, but it's when the screen is really small so it's tough to see why it happened. Dropkick sends her out, while Seductora charges and lands a corner sit on Dalys. Corner clotheslines for Lady Apache. Dalys is set up in the opposite corner, rudas whip Lady Apache towards her, Dalys and Apache do a slow backdrop escape spot in the middle of the ring, Dalys clotheslines Seductora and Amapola, and Sujei is led into a Estrella missile dropkick. That was not the smoothest spot or comeback. Estrella follows with a silla on Sujei, while the other two lock in holds in the ring. Exactly as they do their holds, making it catch all what happened, but somehow the rudas have gotten the best of it. Replays show Estrella's dive, and the ending portions of the finish, but not whatever led up to the hit. Seductora might have just knocked Apache down and put on the hold, but Dalys and Amapola's position is harder to understand. Dally is on her back, and Amapola tries to roll on top while scissoring Dalys' outside leg. Amapola pulls the leg forward, pulling Dalys on top for something or other, but Amapola quickly gives up on and just rolls Dalys back on to her back for a pin. Whatever was supposed to happen there really didn't happen.

Match 2: Héctor Garza ©, Shocker, Toscano vs Rey Bucanero ©, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi
Arena Coliseo, 04/25/2010

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: Técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:18
Rating: not good
Notes: Rey Bucanero wears a mask to the ring for fun. Unsurprisngly, he's the one doing a promo for his team. Why would you make Hector captain? Bad call. Monito is out with the técnicos, wearing a Shocker bandana. Maybe we can blame Niebla for that angle being forgotten?

1: Opening segments with Garza & Okumura and Toscano & Taichi are brief and uneventful. In between, there's a bit of Rey kicking Shocker on the apron and running. They end back in as the last pair. Rey decides to pick a fight with Monito instead, and Shocker has drag his blue friend back. Monito refuses, so it's on. Push up contest! Rey smacks Monito on the top of the head and lifts him up, but Monito fouls Rey and slaps him. Shocker in for his friend before Bucanero can revenge, getting Bucanero in a sunset flip to set up a legdrop. Inside cradle to set up a sit. Bucanero kicks Monito over, Shocker big boots Rey, , but his second boot is caught. Rey blocks Shocker' punches, but not his follow up enziguri. Monito splashes Bucanero on the outside, then moves out of the way to lead Bucanero in a Shocker middle rope plancha. Japanese whip the técnicos into each other, but they both reverse into pins for the fall.

Oh, the Okumura/Taichi promo is here.

2: Garza has to take off his shirt (kick to Bucanero) and pants to start the fall. Taichi wisely shows off his hair rather than go for the pants, but still gets kicked. Toscano get his showcase next. However, it goes back for Shocker, with Rey getting his backbreaker combo to start beatdown. Rey holds Shocker for a missile dropkick, and that's the end of him. Toscano comes in to help and gets beat down. Garza does not come into help – instead, he accidentally steps on Monito and holds him down with his foot. As the rudos finish off Toscano, Garza – stands around watching, then lays down to be pinned. A little late for that. Bucanero goes after Monito instead, sitting on the mat and suplexing the monkey forever. Taichi dropkicks the monkey right in the face, and Shocker has to cover him up for any more damage.

3: Rudo beatdown. Corner charges for Garza, so the rudos are still treating him like a normal opponent. Shocker is kicked around. Garza tries to make peace with Monito, but Monito isn't having it. Toscano is whipped t the corner, but backdrops Okumura out for Shocker to pull down, and trips Bucanero in to the ropes for Garza to kick. Toscano tosses Taichi by his hair, and Taichi is very concerned about his hair. Toscano slowly walks over and kicks him once. This is the opposite of a hot comeback. Toscano takes his time, as if he's waiting for something else to happen. Taichi is lifted up for some chops, taking his time in between each. Shocker throws in Okumura and slowly grabs him. Toscano comes in to help, which turns out to be holding him for a Shocker shot. Garza insists on taking it instead. Toscano forces Okumura down to his knees, while Shocker declares he's the one doing the hitting. Garza backs off, Shocker bounces off the ropes, and Bucanero kicks him in the back from the outside. Okumura chops Toscano into the ropes, he and Taichi miss a double clothesline, and Garza faceslams them both. Shocked boosted into a bad dropkick on both Japanese. Toscano & Shocker tease suplexes the rudos at the same time. Toscano is ready far sooner than Shocker, and has to stand around waiting for Shocker to stop screwing around. Toscano and Shocker go the apron for something (slingshot splashes back in), while Bucanero and Garza come back in. Garza lands his moonsault quebrada as the other two land their splashes, and that's it.

Bucanero is so hurt, he's hanging out with fans in the front row immediately after the pin. That's the end of this.
