CMLL Guerreros del Ring on CAN52 #229 (04/10/2010)
Recaped: 04/22/10

This is the Arena Coliseo anniversary show. You can tell, because it looks like every other show.

Match 1: Dalis la Caribeña, Lady Apache ©, Lluvia vs Amapola ©, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca
Arena Coliseo, 04/04/2010

  1. técnicas
  2. rudas
  3. técnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 11:00
Rating: not bad, not anything special
Notes: No entrances.

1: One on ones, in order of improving levels – Seductora/Lluvia, Dalis/Blanca, and Amapola/Apache. Dalis now has actual gear (which spells her name Dalys, so maybe I should as well) and matches up well with Blanca. The first two pairs are solid, but it's like they're going 5 MPH and Amapola & Lady Apache go 50 MPH, there's no comparison. Amapola spears the post on a charge, Blanca backdrops Apache out into a pescado on Amapola, and the técnicas clean up in the ring for the fall.

2: Lluvia gives Seductora a headscissors, Seductora starts to slide out, stops under the bottom ropes, lays there for a few seconds, gets up, runs, and kicks down Lluvia. The future of CMLL! Beatdown from there. Amapola & Blanca work pretty well together, with Seductora helping where she can. Finish is all the rudas spinebustering all the técnicas and putting on leg holds, though Blanca is a few seconds behind the rest in getting her inverted figure four on Apache.

3: Beatdown quickly ends after the fall starts (which doesn’t go long itself.) Lluvia yanks Seductora out of the ring and throws her on the ramp, and the other técnicas reverse the other rudas into small packages for near falls. Amapola & Blanca bumble around a bit after that. Seductora barely makes it to the ring if at all, only really serving as a target for Lluvia’s silla. Técnicas evade rudas moves and finish them off for the win. Crowd is quiet, quieter than they were when the rudas won the second fall, though they do start a Lady chant after the fact.

Match 2: Blue Panther, Brazo de Plata, Shocker © vs Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero ©
Arena Coliseo, 04/04/2010

  1. rudos
  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:33
Rating: OK
Notes: I've got Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucanero cutting promos on Shocker and Shocker responding. It is 2003! Oh, how Shocker wishes it was 2003. Let's be honest, I wish it was 2003.

1: Ultimo Guerrero tries to dead lift Super Porky for a German suplex, and nearly pulls it off. That man is strong. Porky ends up armdragging him out and crotch chopping. It is 1997! Nice green outfits on Bucanero & UG today. Negro and Panther try to have a contest of grappling holds, but the other four guys keep wanting to run in and break it up and the referees barely stop them. Shocker gets annoyed at Rey for breaking up a hold and chases Bucanero out of the ring, which results in Shocker getting destroyed by Bucanero and Guerrero right in front of the first row. Porky wasn't waddling over there, so it was just Shocker getting beat up 2 on 1. Bad planning by Shocker. Porky tries to go after Negro, but Negro handles him with kicks and headbutts. Beatdown from here. Negro and UG manage to double suplex Porky without the camera shaking, surely the most impossible thing to ever happen. Shocker chases Bucanero, but Bucanero punches him in the gut, and forces him down into a crossface. Shocker taps out in 0.000001 seconds. Bucanero keeps it on as long as possible.

2: Beatdown. Negro scares the card girl by running up the ramp at her (and away from Panther.) Comeback actually starts as they're doing the shrink screen bit. Negro just can't help but run into Porky's stomach. The other técnicos set up the rudos on the mat for a big splash. Everyone but Negro moves, but that's still enough for one pin.

3: Porky gets up for a headscissors/headlock takeover. Or, more, UG is able to lift him up for it. Porky is as immobile as ever. Blue Panther has a nice run thru everyone on the rudo side, including UG taking a crazy knee bump to the outside and a tapatía on Negro Casas to conclude. Bucanero slips in and covers Panther to get him to let go. Shocker comes in to stick up for his partner, and Shocker and Bucanero just kind of stand and look at each other for a minute until UG steps in. That was odd. Bucanero ends up coming in seconds later, after UG has flipped Shocker off a shoulderblock. Shocker ends up coming back against the double team. Rey stops him with the reverse backbreaker, but Shocker comes back again with his corner bulldog, and follows Rey out with a springboard plancha. Other four in, and técnicos cleaning up quick. Panther stops in mid hold to watch Ultimo Guerrero fail on his body slam of Porky, then finishes off Negro.
