Match 1: Guerrero Maya Jr. ©., Metálico, Tony Rivera vs Apocalipsis, Artillero ©, Ramstein
Arena Coliseo, 03/28/2010

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 14:14
Rating: OK.
Notes: Guerrero Maya is too new to be in this match, so he appears to be wearing one of Sangre Azteca's old outfits to blend in. When Artillero's the captain, that says a lot about the other two. Apocalipsis appears to be wearing a different mask in the interview segment, but I think he just hasn't put on his eye black yet. Or it just looks different up close.

1: One on ones. Guerrero Maya wins a wrestling and a chop battle with Ramstein, who appears to not have seen the inside of a gym or gone jogging or attempted any exercise in a long period of time. Other pairs are Tony/Apocalipsis and Metalico/Artillero. Last one might be the best, but the timing isn't great. Metálico comes up short on a tope, and may have gone face first on the floor. Other técnicos wrap it up, Guerrero Maya working in his inverted tope before the finish.

2: One more cycle thru the técnicos. Ramstein takes Maya's offense fine for a while, but is out of place for Maya's big finishing springboard rebound armdrag. Tony Rivera looks the smoothest of the old guys. Artillero is frequently ready to take a move way too soon, telegraphing the next spot. Ramstein decides to start the beatdown on his own, and the beatdown is pretty much built around Ramstein dropkicks. He's still willing to do stuff in matches, but looking as if he's six months pregnant is not helping. Rudos lift up Metálico for a Artillero missile dropkick to set up that finish, but Artillero does a one foot spinning kick, and I can't decide if he meant to do it or not. I'm thinking no. Rudos lift up Maya before Apocalipsis' finish takes care of him as well.

3: Guerrero Maya dominates Artillero early, with the rudos rushing in and attacking Maya every time Artillero looks beat. Técnicos wise up on the third time, though Maya doesn't actually go for a pinfall this time. Artillero pulls of a short enough comeback to set himself on the middle rope for a Maya super armdrag, which starts a sequence of everyone missing top rope moves. (Both Apocalipsis and Ramstein land on their feet, not really trying the splash.) Técnicos clear the rudos out of the ring in the ensuing chaos, Maya and Rivera toping Apocalipsis and Ramstein. Metálico and Artillero are left in. Artillero is actually dominating the exchange until he plays to the crowd one too many times. Artillero points at the técnico fans, Metálico grabs the arm, and pulls him into an inverted legsweep cradle for the win. I like that finish.

Match 2: Brazo de Plata ©, Máscara Dorada, Stuka Jr. vs Shigeo Okumura, Skándalo, Taichi ©
Arena Coliseo, 03/28/2010

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 15:34
Rating: missable
Notes: An edecan interviews Okumura and Taichi for their bit. Okumura speaks Spanish, and Taichi does not – until it's time to flirt with the girl. Brazo de Plata talks about facing Ray Mendoza, who's actually being replaced by Skándalo in this match.

1: Big news – the CMLL contact hours have expanded to 9-3! Two more hours! Porky lays on top of the middle rope, and the middle rope does not break! All sorts of craziness going on, with everyone kind of distracting themselves form the normal standard Stuka/Okumura opening. Dorada/Skándalo is good, mostly Dorada eating Skándalo up. Porky and Taichi starts off with Porky doing his Taichi impression. Taichi is supposed to be offended, but instead is quite amused. This leads into Porky fat man spots. Skándalo gets belly bumped so clear of the ring, he's nowhere to be found when Dorada and Stuka do the multiple splash set up to Porky big (standing) splash for the pin.

2: Mascara Dorada and Stuka get another run, and it's unfair to Stuka to make him follow Dorada. Porky is last, inviting every rudo to hit him once in the chest. They do, he's still standing, Porky screams, rudos are baffled, then beat Porky down. Now I'm baffled. Beatdown from there, ending with the rudos whipping Porky (most evil thing they can do = make Porky run), booting him down, and Taichi adding the legdrop for the fall.

3: Rudos beatdown continues to be mostly unnoteworthy. Skandalo's just kinda taking turns with other two, probably due to language. Rudos have to walk Stuka completely across the ring to set up the comeback spot. Taichi charges Stuka with a kick, and continues to kick him until Stuka grabs one, and pulls him in the corner just as Porky is whipped in for a splash. Stuka and Dorada do nice tope con giros onto Okumura & Skándalo, Taichi immediately goes for the sunset flip on Pokry, fails, and loses.
