CMLL Guerreros del Ring on CAN52 #221 (02/13/2010)
Julio talks about the Panico vs Franco Colombo apuesta match for a minute, as a way to introduce Skandalo
Match 1: Ángel Azteca Jr. ©, Fabián el Gitano, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte ©, Nitro, Skándalo
Arena Coliseo, 02/07/2010
Winner:
rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:20
Rating: Okay
Notes: Entrances are back. Dunno. Fabian’s back to wearing a open top mask. Guerrero Maya has some odd music. Mayan! Maybe. Maybe he and Sangre can feud over their relative empires. Tuareg enter as a group, and with Mysterious Old Guy, their spiritual leader. No facts for the captains. Bestia Negra & Pompin are your refs.
1: No edit to start the fall. Fabian and Skandalo start, though it’s not really the complicated mat wrestling opening. Tuareg all are in purple in black. Big plug for the house (apartment) give away. Fabian celebrates an armdrag with dancing, but Skandalo’s too busy limping away to notice. Maya and Nitro are the next pair. Maya is in a pinker shade of purple (and yellow.) Usual bit of Nitro taking control early, and Maya coming back, with a strange armdrag variation. Angels/Arkangel are last, with every armdrag Arkangel does, Azteca can do one of his own. Azteca dropkicks Arkangel out and follows with a tope. Skandalo goes to join them, but Fabian ambushes him with a plancha. Nitro and Skandalo mantes to kick Fabian down, and then evade Maya’s dive in. Maya tries a springboard reverse tope, but Nitro wipes him out with a dropkick to the back. Meanwhile, it takes Skandalo a little work to get Fabian in an Espectrina, which Miguel helpfully names.
Miguel talks about Mascara Magica taking Rey Barbaro’s mask.
2: Rudos in control, 3 on Angel Azteca to start the fall. Maya argues from the apron, and gets knocked to the floor. Double spinster, dropkick to the head for Azteca. Fabian in next, and the rudo relish the opportunity to forearm hi in the back a lot. May a in, and everyone stomps him. Double flapjack into upraised boots for Maya, and Skandalo flips him out of the ring and to the floor. Rudos take advantage of Fabian’s open mask to toss him around by his hair. Arkangel gets in his low blow elbow drop. Double shoulderblock sends Fabian out. Tuareg all make airplane motions and fly around the ring for a moment. Random! They turn to see Angel Azteca waiting for them on the apron, and he springboards in to dropkick two out. Arkangel charges him, and eats a quebrada. Técnicos work over the guys on the outside. Fabian and Maya come in, just long enough to do topes right back out. War of the Angel inside. Arkangel puts his head down too soon, Azteca climbs on his back and grabs an armbar for the win.
Miguel talks about Guerrero Maya Jr.
Leobrado talks about Fabian el Gitano.
3: Azteca and Arkangel are locked up on the outside as the card girl comes out. They let go, Nitro decks Azteca from behind, Maya comes over but doesn’t actually want to throw a punch when Nitro dares him. Meanwhile, Fabian and Skandalo are killing time in the ring. Fabian gets in his set of dropkicks, and Skandalo begs off fromo them again. Nitro sends Maya out with one shoulderblock, and celebrates while waiting to see if Maya will return. Maya yells at him from the apron, swats Nitro away as he charges, and pushes off the ropes into a headscissors Maya tries a sort of climb up spot on the next pass, Nitro isn’t there for him, but Maya still get in a headscissors. Run up the ropes armdrag sends Nitro out. Maya gives chase, dropping him with a quebradora. Nitro jumps up and charges again – and takes another one. That’ll teach him for not giving up. Aztec and Arkangel have a belt chest slap fight, and Azteca teases ripping up Arkangel’s mask. Not a good idea for a segunda on Sunday’s, these things cost money. Reversal lead to Azteca climb up the ropes, flipping spinning armdrag. Arkangel goes out, Azteca cases him, whips him in the barricade, then brings him back in for a submission. Other rudos break that up, other técnicos miss dropkick. Técnicos whipped at each other, but turn it around and whip the rudos into each other instead. Maya boots Fabian into a dropkick to wipe the rudos out – thought that would go the other way, but OK. Técnicos tease dives, but pull apart the ropes. Maya goes for a pescado, but Nitro just moves and swats him down to the mat. Fabian jumps to the apron but Skandalo violently pulls him down, and Fabian rakes his face on the apron on the trip down. Captains back in, Azteca connects on the quebrada, but goes after Arkangel’s mask instead of for the pin. Rudos break it up with kicks. It’s 3 on one, and not looking good. Skandalo puts on a figure four sleeper, Arkangel puts on an Indian deathlock, then pulls Skandalo towards him so Skandalo s now sitting on Azteca’s head, and Nitro adds a seated surfboard. 3 submissions is plenty, Azteca is done.
Julio talks about Mascara Rojo losing his mask.
Miguel talks about Mr. Niebla
Match 2: Hijo del Fantasma ©, La Sombra, Sagrado vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas ©
Arena Coliseo, 02/07/2010
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 6:22
Rating: short. Amusing, but not much.
Notes: Negro looks sane compared to the rest of his crew. Fantasma wants to have a word with him before the match, but Negro backs up to the entrance.
1: Rudos rush the técnicos, Casas going after Fantasma. Lots of holding people in place, though Niebla does take off the chain he wears and whip Sombra some. Looks like Negro might be untying Fantasma’s mask, but the show doesn’t focus on it. Is Niebla wearing a fake butt? How did I miss that? He’s got a lot of stuff to strip out of before he’s actually ready to wrestle. Negro drops Fantasma right in front of some young ladies, and stomps him low, for everyone’s amusement. Break.
Julio talks about Sagrado
Rudos still in control. Negro gives Fantasma a loud DDT on the ramp. Niebla unties Sagrado’s mask, then drops him in the tree of woe, so the mask almost drops off on it’s own. Felino whips Sombra around, just so he can run really fast. Clothesline, dropkick, pin. Niebla finishes Sagrado with the suástica, and that’s the fall. Crowd chants for Niebla. Fantasma makes it back to the ring, just in time to be stomped down again.
Leobardo talks about Sombra
Juan talks about Felino
2: Crack production work: when they go to the big second fall graphic, the video underneath is actually from last week’s second fall. You can kind of tell: Fantasma is in different gear, and Mascara Dorada and Dragon Rojo are wrestling. Rudos still in control. Niebla knocks Sagrado over to the girls Negro was fooling with before, and stops to give them both kisses on the cheek. They’ve very grossed out. Negro Casas hugs Pompin for fun. Rudos come together, and Niebla low blow headbutts Fantasma. Negro hugs Pompin for not disqualifying him. Negro focuses on Fantasma and hitting his arms while the other two rudos screw around inside. Niebla being Niebla. Valet Anabal clip is efficiently timed to appear while the rudos are holding Fantasma on the ropes and discussing matters. Video goes away just as Fantasma is sent to the ropes. He comes back, jumps over Negro and under the double clothesline, with Sombra and Sagrado coming in behind him, missile dropkicks for Niebla and Felino. Crowd is sad to see their guys get taken out. Fantasma superkicks Negro, and the other two do tope con giros to the rudos. Fantasma gives Negro a quebradora. Negro gets up and grabs his back in pain. Fantasma kicks him, and front suplexes him. Kick to the chest, and Fantasma goes out. Slapping the buckle and going up – top rope splash, no one’s home. Negro casita – one two three, clean pin!
Sombra was just too slow making the save. Niebla parades around the outside with a neon yellow helmet. Negro gets the microphone and demands a shot at Fantasma’s championship, then kicks Fantasma down before he answer. I guess Negro Casas doesn’t need answers, he’s Negro Casas and he’s getting the match. Replays – might have Negro’s earlier arm attack combined with the missed splash weakened him for the casita? It is the casita, you don’t need to be weakened for that devastating cradle.
