CMLL Guerreros del Ring on CAN52 #213 (12/19/2009)
Recap: 12/20

The good thing about CMLL showing the same 90 second clip of the edecanes dancing to start this show each week is it gives me more time to get organized. (Also, yes, the girls are also attractive.)

The opening spelling Rouge's name as Rush. Why not. Also, they're calling Terrible & Texano apocalipticos again, and they would make natural tag partners for Cibernético but I don't think that's what they're going for there.

Match 1: Fabián el Gitano, Metro, Rush © vs Euforia ©, Nosferatu, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 12/13/2009
Referees: Rodolfo Ruiz, Pompin

  1. tecnicos
  2. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 11:24
Rating: just basic stuff
Notes: 0: Clipped entrances. Ring announcer calls him Rouge. We're all professionals here.

1: Match picks up on Skándalo/Fabian chain wrestling. Announcer talking about Euforia & Nosferatu's former partnership, though not exactly why it's a former partnership. They're doing the best to ignore these two guys in the ring, so should I. Armdrags, armdrags, dropkick sends Skándalo out, Fabi poses to many boos. Tag to Rush, who's trunks say ROUGE. WE'RE ALL PROFESSIOANLS HERE. I hate CMLL. Just basic stuff with these two here, the ad for the house giveaway is more compelling. Did Magadan blow the web address on his first try? Rouge eventually gets the advantage, chops Nosferatu, and dropkicks him into the ropes. Nosferatu begs off from the power of the mighty dropkick. No wonder Euforia dumped him! Oh, no, they're still going. The only two guys I want to see in this match are Metro and Euforia – still haven't made up my mind about Metro, but I think he might be OK. So of course, they’re going with a long Nosferatu/Rouge open (in the longest opener yet.) Nosferatu gets Rouge down with a mighty shoulderblock, but Rouge kinda sorta hits him on a dropkick to knock him out. Fake dive pose, crowd boos. Tag to Metro & Euforia. Circle. Lockup, break. Lockup, Euforia thrown to the ropes. Lockup, Metro tosses him to the ropes with an armdrag thing again, but Euforia jumps up and clothesline him. Euforia cockily walks in around the ring. Metro tries to pull him into a headscissors, Euforia shoves him off, Metro gets him with an armdrag from the mat instead. Hammerlock, into a tirabuzón, but the rudos rush in and all break it up. Announcers are talking about Black Cat? I am so confused. Fabi gets a double shot to the inside. Rudos try a beatdown, but Fabian does a flip off the middle rope for no apparent reason, then ducks a Euforia chop, causing Skándalo to get hit instead. Fabian fails to take advantage of this, however, and Euforia knocks him own with a clothesline. Whip, lift, spinebuster, and Skandalo adds a running elbow drop low. Rouge is hit as he comes in. Corner whip, Skandalo clothesline, Nosferatu clothesline, Euforia clothesline. Not odd yet, whip, double back elbow, Euforia face first powerbomb. Metro in, and surprising, Euforia with a clothesline, but Skandalo grabs him for the others to hit. Rudos set up Metro for the same face first powerbomb, but go off to celebrate too soon, missing Metro reverses it into a bodyscissors cradle on Euforia. One two three. Rudos celebrate the three count, then turn around to be shocked by what happened. Replays.

Miguel tells us about the first mask match in this building, in a segment so short that I accidently skipped it the first time.

2: Acapulco show on 12/30. Wonder if we'll get a proper lineup. Rudos still in control in the ring. Skándalo gets in his low blow corner dropkick. Counting the two promos, we've got no four different reminders that this is the second fall. I guess they're worried about the fans who can't count. Triple boot for Metro. Rouge held and chopped a lot. Oh, here's Carolina with reminder #5. Don’t think I actually counted the actual ring girl, so maybe 6. Rough rolls under a double clothesline, connect son a wheel kick. To knock Euforia out. Metro tries to run in and dropkick the other two, but they move, and he just looks bad missing, rolling right out. In the meantime, Rouge sets up and boosts Fabian for a double dropkick on the rudos, dropkick doesn’t look so well there. Rouge off the ropes, tope connects, though Rouge hit the ropes on the way thru. Nosferatu must’ve moved out of the way of that dropkick because he's beating Fabi up now. Corner whip, Nosferatu charges in, Fabian moves, Nosferatu gently spears the post. Fabian all the way up – moonsault connects, Fabian bouncing off and crashing into the legs of the front row. Metro and Euforia in, and Metro monkey flipping Euforia cross ring. Monkey flip again – no, Euforia escapes. Chop, Metro ducks, waistlock by metro, Euforia holds on the ropes for dear life, then turns around and pulls Metro's mask off. Euforia did it because he was doomed, but he still did it in front of everyone, and so that's the match.

Euforia does at least keep the mask. Replays of the fall, and the match.

Alma promos the main event.

1: Everyone takes their time getting set, and some how Terrible and Strong Man end up in together. Terrible now even in less of hurry to start this. Lockup, Terrible shoved down. Lockup, no, Terrible goes behind, Strong Man breaks the waistlock. Terrible a little impressed while backing off. Terrible goes to huddle with his men. Lockup, no, Terrible holds onto him with a waistlock, rushing Strong Man into the rudo corner for Vangelis to kick and forearm! A PLAN! Way to go, rudos. Shocker tries to come to the aid of his best friend, but Terrible back elbows him down. Sombra and Texano fight out of the ring – which leaves Vangelis on Strong Man. This does no go well for our favorite refuge from a despised group (AAA), but luckily Texano walks back over and helps. All three rudos are able to subdue Strong Man with a kick to the leg, but even then he's pushing them around. Terrible boot connects enough to send Strong Man, and the rudos have the numbers on the other. This crew is big on leg kicks. Corner whip, Vangelis corner clothesline. Sombra’s pulled out of the corner, walked to another corner, and Texano goes out to – punch Shocker in the face? OK. Shocker and Sombra are whipped in each other, both go down, both go out. Strong Man back in, and all three hold him in one place. They all three try to whip him at the same time – but he's Strong Man, and he can reverse the whip on all on all three of them. The rudos end up in the corner, Strong Man kicks some invisible dirt off the mat, screams, charges - and the rudos get out of way just in time. Texano & Terrible kicks him down with a double shoulderblock, Vangelis adds a double senton one two NO. Strong Man roars and poses, but the rudos double dropkick him out. Shocker and Sombra back in, Tornado Texano on Sombra to take him out. Shocker’s walked around the ring. Corner whip, corner clothesline, corner clothesline, Terrible and Texano set him on the top rope, and hand him off to Vangelis for a Northern Lights Suplex. One two three. Shocker just got pinned by Vangelis!

2: Rudos try to hold Strong Man in the corner, but are barely holding out. Shocker and Sombra try to break it up, but Vangelis makes effective uses of those 12/6 elbows I keep hearing about. Sombra's held with his legs held apart in the corner for Texano’s dropkick. Crowd behind Sombra, but that doesn’t stop him form being kicked. Segunda caída edecan again. Shocker manages to backdrop Sombra to safety, then thy both duck a Terrible/Texano double clothesline, and clothesline Valiente as Strong Man clotheslines the other two. Strong Man is fired up and wants people to kill. Vangelis in for a big chop. Terrible is beat in the corner by the técnicos, who yank him around by his hair repeatedly, then whip him into another Strong Man chop. Texano tries to crawl away rather than his chop, but even grabbing onto the bottom rope for life won't save him. Strong Man ready, waiting, Texano whipped in and chopped down. Sombra has a neat headscissors cradle variation, and Shocker gets Terrible with the hammerlock/headscissors cradle for the other pin. Vangelis runs into the crowd rather than take another chop.

Julio Cesar tells us about – I'm not even paying any attention any more, I can't tell you.

3: Tecnicos chase rudos all the way to the back, which is going to make this hard to start. Rudos jump the técnicos as they rush back to the ring, but everyone just ends up in a standoff in the ring. Things settle down to Shocker and Terrible in a posing contest. Strong Man offers to come in to help, but Shocker’s got this. Still, Strong Man can't help but pose, and scaring Terrible. Terrible off the ropes, Shocker trips him up, senton, no one home, Terrible kicks Shocker in the back, and taunts Strong Man. Bad move! Strong Man stays on the outside for now. Chop. Whip, reversed, Shocker charges in for a clothesline, out for a bulldog. Terrible rolls out, Texano in and yelling at Shocker. Off the ropes, shoulderblock by Texano, off the ropes again, and this time eating a hiptoss. Shocker celebrates, but Vangelis attacks him from behind. Shocker recovers, and gets into a 1 on 2 chop battle. Kinda – Vangelis hits Shocker, so Shocker hits Texano, so Texano hits Vangelis for Shocker hitting him. Vangelis and Texano both try hitting Shocker, and both end up over the top rope the floor. Shocker rolls, poses. Sombra tagged in, and he starts by stripping off his shirt. Vangelis sis not impressed. Handshake? No, Sombra pushes Vangelis. Vangelis shoves back. Sombra headlock, shot off back, over, flipping run, under a clothesline, bad time to shrink the screen but that's what they do. Sombra gets Vangelis out with a springboard armdrag, I think. Sombra tries jumping on the other two as they come in, but Terrible & Texano catch him, toss him, and kick him into the corner. Corner whip, Texano charges in, Sombra moves, Clothesline misses on Texano, Texano lifts him up, Sombra headscissors Terrible out. Armdrag for Texano, shoulderblock, Sombra hides in the ropes, Texano goes over them and out. How was that going to work for Texano? Sombra leaps over the top rope, and handstands off the apron into a headscissors on Texano. That's an incredible spot, every time he does it. Strong Man in, and only Vangelis left to deal with him. Vangelis tags himself out to no one, but the other guys are hiding out on the floor rather than tag in. Terrible comes over to fire Vangelis up, and make sure he doesn’t have to go in. Vangelis tries to get out, but Terrible and Texano push him back in from the apron. Vangelis tries chest slaps, and they have no effect. Actually, almost no effect, Vangelis hurts his own hand. Strong Man shoves Vangelis into the corner, and waylays him with one chop. Vangelis back to his feet, knocking Strong Man to a knee. Terrible comes over to taunt Strong Man, but runs when Strong Man looks his way. Corner whip, Vangelis hits the buckle and goes down. Vangelis was sent in back first, but hit so hard, he fell down to seated position. Strong Man stands him up. Chop. Corner whip, Vangelis hits chest first this time and falls down again. Elbow drop, cover, and the other rudos break it up. Strong Man is more annoyed then hurt, and the rudos are quick to back off. Strong Man getting angry, Strong Man yelling, Strong man double clothesline misses, rudos double clothesline misses, Strong Man hooks an arm of each – double hiptoss! Terrible looks like he just saw his life pass before his eyes. Double clothesline sends Terrible and Texano out. Sombra in, Sombra tope con giro out. Shocker works in a pescado of his own, and now only Vangelis is left with Strong Man. Big chokeslam ends that, one two three.

Técnicos celebrate. Replays, dancing, that's it.
