Arena Coliseo, 07/05/2009
Winner:
tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:33
Rating: Good
Notes:
1: Electrico & Damian start. Electrico tries to out pose the rudo, but still get backed int the rudo corner and punched by the other rudos. Lockup, Damian flips Electrico over his hip, back again with an armdrags, back again with another armdrag, and down on the mat with an elbow lock. Electrico up to his feet, tripped back down, but manges an armdrags this time. Electrico kips up to his feet while Damian reacts. Circle. Lockup, Double wristlock. Damian reverse it so he's in charge, test of strength, shoulder to shoulder, and no one gets much advantage. Damian turns around, pulls Electrico over his back and to the mat, Electrico leaps up to a bodyscissors armdrags and sends Damian out. I think Warrior just tripped and fell off the apron but everyone missed it. He comes in, angry, and dropkicks Electrico from behind and he poses. Universo in as well, so they both can punch. Warrior actually shoves his partner into position for a double whip. Double clothesline. Whip, Electrico tripped up and pull out by Damian. Slingshot over knees, and Warrior adds the guillotine legdrop to the floor. Rudos firmly in control now. Damian kicks Dorada off the apron as Shockercito is grabbed for the front powerbomb/chinbreaker combo. One two three. Warrior brings Dorada in with a stunner. Whip, rebound hiptoss right into Universo's upraised legs, and that's it.
2: Rudos still in control. Electrico is chopped around and booted out. Warrior gives Shockercito a running powerbomb in the corner, just for fun. Dorada brought in, and the rudos are distracted by chants for Mascarita. He's headbutted out without taking much. Electrico back in. Whip, lifted up by Warrior for chops by both Universo and Damian. They head to the ropes - but fall out of the ring when Shockercito and Dorada pull them down. Electrico and Warrior have an even exchange on their own – Warrior even gets in the flipping run, then gives Warrior a stop sign so he can pose. This is an odd time for that. Electrico does his own stop sign so he can feel himself up. Huh. Electrico with a walking up the ropes spinning armdrag, follows by a spinning headscissors that isn't really close to Warrior's head – that looked bad. Shockercito comes in just so he can go back out, toping Warrior. Universo in, but missing a corner charge and headed to the floor. Electrico gets him with a top rope Asai moonsault. Captains in, Dorada with a big headscissors. Off the ropes, spinning armdrag into a spinning headscissors into a spinning armdrag into a spinning headscissors into a spinning armdrag into a spinning headscissors into a waistlock cradle, one two three. I'm dizzy, how about you?
3: Universo missed a running dropkick on Shockercito to start the fall, Shockercito knocking him back down as soon as he gets up. Whip, reversed, Shockercito over, rebound armdrag, Julio Cesar distracting me with the usual mention of the national minis title. That least armdrag sends Universo out, so tags to Dorada and Damian. And plugs for Ras de Lona. Dorada gets Damian with a plancha (while we're looking at a gorilla in the crowd – yes, really) and then with a spinning armdrags. Damian almost crotches himself on the ropes, yells in pain, and Dorada shakes him by his head. Whip, reversed, Dorada spinning armdrag into a spinning headscissors into a spinning headscissors into a spinning headscissors and around and around they spin, Damian spun right out of the ring. Dorada tries to pose, but he's too dizzy! He tries climbing to the top rope instead of tagging out, and Warrior rushes over to crotch him. Universo in as well, so they both can pose and point at each other – and rush into armdrags from Electrico and shocker. Shockercito gets Universo with an Asai, Electrico sends Warrior out and follows with a tope con giro. Dorada gets a diving headscissors on Damian, of course. Someone should probably go in, but the tecnicos are pretty happy at the moment. Shockercito and Electrico bring in their victims. Reinera on Warrior, Electrico can't remember how to do the leg lock he tries to do, but we'll call it an inverted caverneria. That's the match.
Match 2: Ephesto ©, Misterioso II, Virus vs Sagrado ©, Stuka Jr., Valiente
Arena Coliseo, 07/05/2009
Winner:
rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:00
Rating: good
Notes:
1: Stuka & Misterioso to start, batting each other away and not getting anywhere on the lockup. Stuka forced into the ropes, and Misterioso makes a point of flashily rolling away. Lockup, Stuka backs Misterioso into the ropes with a purpose, brushes Misterioso off, and does his own backwards roll. Misterioso tells the crowd to shove off. Lockup, Misterioso waistlock, Stuka looking for a side escape, looking for a leg, no luck, so he just turns into an armbar and then a hammerlock. That takes a bit of work. Misterioso reverses to his own armbar, Stuka into a wristlock, Misterioso picks a leg and takes Stuka down to the mat. Misterioso rolls Stuka into a bridging cradle, one two no. Face off. Circle. Lockup, Misterioso is able to eventually armdrags Stuka down, but Stuka just armdrags him away. Stuka charges, Misterioso trips him up, Stuka headscissors from the mat. Zero leg trips, and we've reached a standoff. Ephesto and Stuka in. Ephesto off the ropes, over, waved by (not even waved, just watched), Ephesto shoulderblock. Stomp. Corner whip, chop. Whip, corner whip, Sagrado kips up and out, Ephesto tries to shoulderblock him down, but Sagrado pulls him down by his mask. Ephesto lunges at Sagrado, Sagrado pulls him into the spinning backbreaker. Sagrado off the ropes, over, clothesline misses, Sagrado slides out, of course Ephesto topes him. Why do they slide out against Ephesto? It happens every time! They slide out against no one else! Anyone, Stuka misses a dropkick on Virus, Virus chops him, and Misterioso pulls him down from outside. Rudos whip Stuka towards his corner, and Valiente flips him to safety. Kicks for the rudo running in, Stuka dives back in the ring towards the rudos, rudos dodge, uh oh. Stuka rolls thru the dive, but that's as instant death as ever. La Rosa on Stuka, nudo on Valiente, one two three for both.
2: Rudos dominating off the last fall. Valiente whipped hug o the ropes, and Virus flips him back I with his big dropkick. Stuka in, and attacked from behind before he can get in anything in. Everyone chops him around. Whip, Ephesto whipped after him, Stuka moves, and Ephesto hits the ropes on the way over. Virus charges, and hits the pose without falling out. Misterioso charge, and Stuka just kicks him away. Sagrado slingshot in, grabbing Stuka to monkey flip him into a sunset flip on Misterioso. Stuka rolls him back into position for a Valiente top rope armdrags. Virus tries clothesline Sagrado, but Sagrado ducks it to tope Ephesto. Stuka dropkicks Virus to the corner. Valiente charges, Virus tosses him up, Valiente lands on the top rope and moonsaults into an armdrags, holding into the arm for a seated armbar. Stuka drops Misterioso in a fireman's drop and heads up. Deadman's splash, one two three.
3: Valiente rips up Virus. To the corner, flipping run from there, charge, and Virus knocks him down with a shoulderblock Virus off the ropes, over, rolling under, quick stop, Valiente runs, but Virus just clips him and dropkicks him in the head. Virus is very fired up. Corner whip, reversed, Valiente charges, Virus tosses him out of the corner, Virus crotches him before Valiente can flip away. Virus pulls Valiente down, but Valiente reverses it into an armdrags. Valiente off the ropes, spinning headscissors sends Virus out. Valiente off the ropes, swinging thru to the rope to the floor, and threatening to hit Virus there. Virus is begging off, so probably no go. Tags to Stuka and Ephesto. Crowd behind Stuka. Ephesto demanding a handshake and not getting it. Ephesto sneaks in a chop instead. Stomp. Right. Whip, reversed, Stuka charges in, Ephesto kicks him away. Ephesto charges out and clothesline Stuka down. He loaded up that clothesline, and Ephesto explains it to the crowd. Ephesto picks up Stuka, walks him to the ropes, and holds him there, still jawing with the crowd. Slap, Stuka fights back with his own, but Ephesto stop him before yelling at the crowd some more. Whip, Stuka flipping run, waved by, headscissors sends Ephesto out, Stuka going after him – top, into an armdrags on the floor. Ephesto down grabbing his back, Stuka back in celebrating. Misterioso and Sagrado in. Sagrado off the ropes, over, waved by, sunset flip, Misterioso sneaks free and kicks Sagrado in the back. Misterioso is very proud of himself for escaping a sunset flip. Chest slap, and Misterioso starts a chant for one more. Crowd sort of responds, so Misterioso does it - to Stuka, standing on the middle rope nearby for no reason. Corner whip, Sagrado tries to kip, but Misterioso catches him by the legs and tosses him to the apron. Sagrado blocks Misterioso’s chop, and swing kicks him away from the ropes. Springboard headscissors sends Misterioso out, and Sagrado's dive fake is pretty good at faking me out. Valiente in, Sagrado lifts him to the top rope and on the run, and Valiente moonsautls from there to the floor. Inside, Virus clips Sagrado right out of the ring, but eats a Stuka top rope armdrags. Stuka charges Ephesto into the corner, Ephesto flips him to the corner, Stuka slaps him away and heads up top – turning plancha to the floor. Ephesto and Sagrado left in, Sagrado takedown, Sagrado grabs Ephesto by his legs, Ephesto pulls him into this trademark cradle, but Sagrado sits on top to block it! One two three. That was smart, how did it take so long to figure that out? Sagrado makes belt motions, hmm.
