CMLL GDR - 06/08/08 (#133)
Recap: 10/18/08

Announcers hang at the Coliseo mask sell booths. Julio Cesar reads Luchas 2000, which is at least funny to me.

Match 1: Amapola (c), Hiroka, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel (c), Lady Apache, Marcela
Arena Mexico, 05/30/08

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. a

Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 12:35
Approx Rating: Good fun match.
Other Match Notes: Full entrances - we hear the normal ring announcer, but everyone has generic sounding music. Marcela has her belt. This is Lady Apache's return. Amapola has the belt. Pompin and Rodolfo Ruiz are your refs. Best possible match?

1: Hiroka and Lady Apache start, Hiroka wasting little time going after Lady Apache's (repaired) right knee. Apache is able to control her on the mat, totally dominating her on the way to a bow and arrow. Hiroka gets a momentary edge when Apache pins herself, but makes the mistake of putting on a standing armbar, and Apache socks her with a forearm. Whip, reversed, Hiroka boots Apache. Hiroka celebrates, then kicks and slaps Apache in the corner. Corner whip, Apache climbs and missile dropkicks Hiroka as he comes in. Lady Apache barely had time to celebrates before Sujei surprises her with a back elbow. Lots of stomps. Apache kips up, kicks Hiroka away with her heel, climbs the ropes, and gets headscissors/armdrags combo. Marcela into help, Apache spinning backbreaker on Sujei, Marcela Atlántida into a gutbuster. Rudas rolls out, tecnicas tease dives, Apache does a cartwheel. That was amusingly goofy. Crowd louder as Dark Angel and Amapola start. Sarah gets a waistlock cradle for two. Chop misses, Amapola corner whips her, Dark Angel kips up and out, rolls backwards, and gets up in time to eat a Amapola dropkick. Amapola charges Angel in the other corner but gets kicked, and pulled into a rope assisted spinning headscissors. Dark Angel charges, gets waved by, but comes of the corner with a crossbody. Both women miss clotheslines and go chest to chest and face to face. And then decide just to tag. Marcela and Sujei in now. Sujei takes down camera with a kick, and kicks her while she's down. Headlock, shot off, Sujei jumps into a dropkick. Corner whip, reversed, Marcela climbs the corner for her own dropkick, but Sujei saw that spot just happen and know how to evade it. Kick to the chest, flashy elbow drop, flashy elbow drop, flashy elbow drop, flashy elbow drop, flashy elbow drop! Princesa Sujei is so awesome. She was having so much fun, she just couldn't stop doing them. Sujei off the ropes, Marcela catches her clothesline, lifts her up, and drops her for a backbreaker. Marcela points to the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Marcela jumps to the top rope, and back with a missile dropkick. Sujei shouldn't have taken time to pose that time. Sujei out, Amapola in. Amapola misses a clothesline, Marcela off the ropes, and right into a missile dropkick. Amapola off the ropes, running dropkick to that knocks Marcela three feet across the ring. Corner whip, Amapola charges in, Marcela moves just in time and Amapola hits the post. Amapola barely gets it before Lady Apache bowls her over with an apron tope con giro. Rudas in to take care of Marcela, but she's taken care of them. Kick to Sujei, whip, reversed, Marcela sent into Hiroka but the tecnica gets the ruda immediately with a nice quick bodyscissors powerbomb. Meanwhile, Dark Angel gets Princesa Sujei with a bizarre submission - a bodyscissors roll into something approaching an inverted cavernaria. It makes no sense, but it's great. That's the fall.

2: Rudas attack the tecnicas right after the whistle. Apache gets worked by Amapola and Sujei in the corner while the others are dumped. Corner whip for Apache, Hiroka clothesline, Sujei back elbow, Amapola back press. Clip? Marcela's already down when they come back from a quick crowd shot. Whip, Hiroka backbreaker, Amapola/Sujei running dropkick. Apache back in. Whip, double chop by Hiroka and Sujei, they hang her on the top rope, Hiroka holds her there while Sujei boosts Amapola into a dropkick (only one foot connecting, good idea though.) Dark Angel in. Whipped into a Sujei kick. Suplex into a stunner, huh. Triple kick by the rudas. Hiroka covers, one two three. Rudas go for pins on everyone anyway. Back cracker on Apache. Sujei's finish more resembles a Jackhammer this time.

3: Rudas still hold the ring. Apache is spinebuster, and Sujei is dropped on top for a legdrop. Dark Angel is rammed into Marcela, then tripped up on the ropes for Amapola's running sit. Apache back in, Hiroka misses a clumsy looking clothesline, Apache hops on the ropes, and hops off with a double clothesline for the other two. Everyone in, Marcela dropkicks Amapola out, Apache gives Hiroka a backbreaker, and Dark Angel might have used a cobra clutch slam on Sujei - tough tot ell from what we see. Brawls around the ring. Marcel and Hiroka end up in as everyone moves back to their corners. and have a chest slap battle. Marcela finally takes advantage by blocking a chest slap and hitting a back fist. German suplex blocked, Hiroka switched, Marcela blocks that and Lady Apache jumps in with a top rope sunset flip. Marcela is freed from the hold, Hiroka reveres to get on top, Marcela kicks, and Lady Apache reverses just in time to be kicked in the head. As Hiroka and Apache roll out, Sujei ambushed Marcela with a clothesline. Corner whip, reversed, and Amapola accidentally missile dropkicks her partner. Marcela stomps Amapola as Sujei rolls out. Corner whip, and Sarah is the only to actually hit (missile dropkick) someone on the other team. Dark Angel celebrates by taking Sujei out with a tope. Marcela gets Amapola with a plancha. Back inside, Apache gets Hiroka with a dropkick to the knee, and a rolling tapatia. Apache is excited to have it on, Hiroka not so much. Hiroka gives. Tecnicas celebrate as referees count out the other rudas.

Match 2: Black Warrior (c), Rey Bucanero, Universo 2000 vs Dos Caras Jr., LA Park (c), Negro Casas
Arena Coliseo, 06/01/08

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:41
Approx Rating: Despite the last fall, pretty fun.
Other Match Notes: Park dances, then does the Wagner catch phrase and talks about Wagner in the promo. Warrior does the promo for his team.

1: Early on, Negro gets Rey in a knee bar. Universo comes into break it up with stomps on Negro, so Dos comes in to stomp Rey. Before long, Warrior and Universo are both stomping Negro while Park and Dos are both stomping Rey. It's quite the contest. Rey and Negro get ticked at their teammates for not stomping the other team from stomping and walk off. Universo and Dos have the long mat wrestling segment, seemingly leading to the spot where everyone puts submissions hold onto each other. Universo gets a figure four headscissors loc on Dos, Park does the same to Universo, Rey does the same to Park - but they're too close to end of the ring, so Rey just falls to the floor! Crowd makes fun of Rey and Parka lets go to mock him. Universo and Dos have no idea what's going on. Park's all fired up to face Warrior, but Warrior puts a halt to that and goes outside. Why? Because there's some dressed in full LA Park gear and Warrior brings him over. Is he accusing this of being a fake LA Park? Couldn't really imagine such a thing. Warrior pats the fan LA park on his ample stomach, then comes back in to face the real one. Big chest slap staggers Park, and gives Warrior enough time to struts like LA Park. Warrior tries to corner whip LA Park, he won't go, Rey and Universo slap him in the back from the outside. Park puts a stop to the match for a second, takes off his gloves, and slaps both of them back. Park goes for a 1 on 3 chop battle, and is actually winning for a good five seconds. Warrior throws Parka out of the corner and tries to get his corner to stand down. Parka charges back, Warrior evades for a bit, but Universo gets Warrior by accidentally with a clothesline when aiming for Park. Universo slingshot in (stomping Warrior by accident), clotheslines misses, kick accidentally gets Warrior again. Park gets Universo with a sunset flip, Universo reveres, Warrior ends up dropkicking him by accident. Rey charges in, Parka waves him into a sunset flip on Warrior and counts the three. I don't think that works, though Bucanero celebrates. Park hiptosses two of of them, and uses Rey to kick the other two. Rey and Park celebrate, Rey asks for a handshake, and Park KOs him with a punch. Park waves in Negro so they can stretch off. Rudos kick them, and Dos very slowly goes to the top and plancha them all. Negro splash, Park splash on the pile. All the rudos up, and all the tecnicos beat all the rudos for the finish. Negro goes for his usual on Warrior, but Warrior has no interest in going over for the casita for some reason, so Negro just pulls him into a kneeling abdominal stretch. Very odd. Universo takes a seat in the crowd neat to fake LA Park, and Rey gets thrown into both of them. Warrior gets his own seat, and then tecnicos come over and annoy them. Replays.

2: Warrior/Negro battle lets Warrior win a chop battle and Pull The Rope, so it's good times for him. Negro takes over soon after. Universo runs from Dos this time, but eventually gets cowed into facing him. Dos gives Universo one of his patterned "enziguri to the back" to send him out, then has even less problem with Rey, throwing him about by the hair quite easily. Rey rolls out after a spinning backbreaker. Crowd hot for Warrior/Park. Park throws Warrior around by the ears, which is something. Park gets Warrior in abdominal stretch, Universo breaks that up with a big punch, Universo helps hold Park's legs apart, and Warrior sneaks in a questionably low headbutt. Refs let it go, and that's the fall. Rey and Dos brawl on the outside, Dos landing on the Park fan. Rey beats Dos some, then chest slaps the fake Park while he's there. Rey brings Dos back in, so Universo can untie his mask.

No replays, they stick with the battle as Warrior and Park battle in the crowd. Park asks for a timeout, and switches places with the fake LA Park. Park takes a seat, Warrior thinks about beating the fake La Park, but gets distracted by Universo bringing Dos over, and kicking him into the seat to the left of the real LA Park. Fan La Park takes another empty seat, to the right of real LA Park. Rey comes walking over, and goes after the wrong guy! Warrior has to straighten it out. Universo picks up Dos, and throws him on top of both. Fake LA Park takes of his mask so he can perhaps not be killed. Break.

3: There's about 3 minutes left back in the show, so this can't be too long. In fact, Dos is just hanging out, on the inside of the tecnico corner, waiting for the rudos to get around to whipping Negro towards him so he can backdrop him to safety and get the comeback rolling. Oh, wait, never mind, Dos isn't doing that - Dos stops Negro, and press slam him onto the Rey and Universo. That'll work great too. Warrior hangs back in the corner, grabs Negro, only to get chopped by his teammates by accident. Park trips up Warrior and crotches him on the post as the other tecnicos put the other rudos in submission holds - looks like an abdominal stretch on Rey and a came clutch on Universo. Parka comes in, Warrior frees himself from the corner, both stand off for a moment. Park gets Warrior with a sorta powerslam, and that's it. Everything was good until there.

Park and Warrior fool around some more, Park tries to find someone to dance with him, and that's it.
