CMLL GDR - 06/01/08 (#132)
Recap: 10/16/08

Match 1: Amapola (c), Hiroka, Mima Shimoda vs Dark Angel (c), Goddess, Luna Mágica
Arena Mexico, 05/23/08

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 11:10
Approx Rating: okay.
Other Match Notes: No entrances. Pompin and Terror Chino are the refs.

1: JIP, just as Luna is finishing off Mima. Hiroka appears to be wrestling in the clothes she walked in with, plus some borrowed knee pads. She boots Goddess right in the face in the corner, Goddess counters by hitting her own. Goddess looks okay on a springboard back elbow, not okay on a bodyscissors bulldog, and the crowd is quick to get on her. Amapola wants no part in wrestling  Dark Angel. There's an AAA ill-timed crowd shot, just after Amapola knocks Dark Angel down with a big boot. Crowd way into their battle, Dark Angel coming back with a backbreaker and a springboard dropkick before Amapola flees. Luna in just long to armdrag Mima, who starts rolling towards the ramps, then stops and rolls out screen right. Luna walks over to the apron, in no hurry, and sets up for the Asai Moonsault before Amapola stops her with a  dropkick.  Mima moved out of the way anyway. Amapola gets Luna with a tope con giro (no hands catch there). Dark Angel evades a Hiroka plancha as she comes in. Goddess locks her an inverted figure four, and Dark Angel gets an armbar/half crab on Mima to take the fall. Amapola gets back to her feet, and can't believe they lost the fall without her.

2: Luna is alright with Hiroka, but she and Amapola implode pretty quick. Dropkick to the knee hits about the ankle because Luna moves the wrong way, then Luna almost gets dumped on her head on a flapjack. Luna just stays down and doesn't move, which makes her easier to dropkick. Luna comes back with a  run up the ropes armdrags, and a spinning headscissors. A hamstring kick is a weird spot to end it; that's a setup move. Dark Angel starts with Mima, tries to get 'rana, ends up being powerbombed, and that's enough to start the beatdown. Didn't take much. Luna is press slammed onto Mima's upraised feet. Amapola lifts Goddess is an over the shoulder hammerlock backbreaker. Dark Angel takes a powerbomb/silla combo from the Japanese duo, and that's the fall. Referees don't know and count pinfalls for Amapola back crackering Goddess but not Mima German suplexing Luna.

3: Card girl and Hiroka have a standoff. Card girl dos not give up the card, though. In the match, Goddess is thrown around by her hair a bunch. Dark Angel runs up the corner on a whip, and comes off with a  flying one leg kick to Amapola's chest. I don't know if she meant to do that, but it looked pretty neat. Amapola and Dark Angel brawl on the apron while the other rudas are knocked out of the ring and down by sillas. Amapola manages to reverse a whip to sent Dark Angel not to the ropes, but Dark Angel moves, and Amapola's running sit just takes her flying into the ring. Dark Angel hits her from outside, then backs up the ramp. Hmm. Running tope con giro into the ring! That works pretty well. Dark Angel dropkicks Amapola, who ends up back on the ramp, then celebrates, which is enough for Hiroka to knock her out of the ring from behind. Hiroka misses a dropkick on Goddess, gets hung in the ropes, hangs there for a while as Goddess hold her up, and Luna adds a dropkick to knock her to the floor. Goddess going up again, very very carefully, plancha to the floor. Luan dropkicks Mima out, then goes to the apron - no, the ropes! Luna being careful standing up there, with some balance help from Dark Angel. Moonsault - gets no distance, hits the apron! That's the end of her. Back in the ring, Dark Angel escapes Amapola's double underhook, Dark Angel takes her down, sits on top, and pins her with a hand on the middle rope. One two three. Amapola protests, not that it's going to help her much.

Replays. Luna hit the apron with the side of her face, then bounced to the floor. She seems out of it as she's strechered out. Hiroka and Mima try to attack her on the stretcher, but they're shoved away by security.

Match 2: Averno, Mephisto, Olimpico (c) vs Negro Casas, Shocker (c), Volador Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 05/25/08

  1. tecnicos
  2. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:10
Approx Rating: Good.
Other Match Notes: Shocker recognizes that Averno & Mephisto are tag team champs, but wants one of them in a hair/mask match. Averno yells a lot. Perros and Guerreros, that's going to go well.

1: Olimpico and Shocker start on the mat, then there's a Negro Casas sequence with Averno and Mephisto, with Negro doing a minimal mount of selling. Negro dropkicks one, spin DDTs the other. He taunts Olimpico instead fighting him, which causes Olimpico to insists on fighting him. This goes badly for Olimpico. Dropkick to the knee sold as foul, sure. Crowd is into all of the match. Volador rips off his shirt before he starts. Mephisto teases doing the same, but the fans get on his nerves so he doesn't. Volador gets in his flipping run, Averno gets in the cheap shot from outside. You may have seen this occur once or twice. Double whip backfires, Volador boosted into a headscissors on Averno, fireman's carry escape armdrags on Averno, headscissors for Olimpico, and Mephisto breaks the rules and rushes back in to boot Volador. Negro takes him down and puts him in a sharpshooter to end that part of the fall. Shocker takes more time with Averno, powerbombing him down, putting Monito on the top rope and helping him off for a top rope splash. Olimpico concedes.

2: Mephisto insists on facing Shocker, takes a huge hiptoss for it. Averno goes crazy on Shocker (and Monito) for it, but Shocker sidesteps a corner whip and goes badly for the tag champs from there. Shocker actually looks good here, though Averno & Mephisto have the rudo bumbling thing pretty well practiced by this point. Olimpico wants Monito, and of course Monito has to convince Shocker to let him take care of it. Push up battle! Monito can do them one handed! Monito and Olimpico looking to lookup, Monito with a lower shin kick, Olimpico grabs him and picks him up, Monito gets in a low blow. Monito wins! Break?

Mephisto and Volador for real lasts about five seconds before Averno yanks him out, and both he and Mephisto drag Volador to the floor and stomp him to death in the aisle. Shocker rushes around the ring for the save and Mephisto punches him around the ring. Negro - Negro's just going to hang out, I guess. Mephisto beats Shocker around the ring, gives him time to pose, and beats him some more. Averno sets Volador up on the top rope to go after his mask. Negro - Negro's going to stand and look at Olimpico. Olimpico eventually kicks him, Negro falls out of the ring, Negro lands on his feet and rushes back in the ring, Olimpico chops him, Negro falls out of the ring, Negro lands on his feet and immediately rushes back in, Olimpico chops him, and Negro actually falls down. Olimpico needs a movement before each and get around to stomping him. Mephisto sets up Shocker on the outside so Averno can hit a swinging dropkick on him. Averno likes it so much, he does it to Volador. Negro comes in, and is thrown by the hair. Boot, and he's out. Olimpico dropkicked out. Monito dragged into the corner of the ring. Averno scoops him up, and drops him in a gutbuster on Mephisto's knee. Monito crawls to safety, and Shocker massages his ribs. Shocker comes in, and takes a shot, and Mephisto takes his time before slapping him. Corner whip, Shocker moves, ducks a clothesline, and boots Averno (kinda.) Mephisto kicks him out, Volador gets Mephisto with a springboard, Olimpico boots Volador, Negro boots Olimpico. Negro's got no one left to hit. Volador gets back in the ring (once Olimpico is out of his way), hurries, and gets him with a tope. Mephisto corner whipped, Negro in with a clothesline, Shocker in with nope, missed, Mephisto clotheslines Negro, Averno clotheslines Shocker. Tecnicos whipped into each other, and the rudos get time killing submissions. Olimpico gives Volador a plancha, but everything goes bad from here. He accidentally runs into Averno, knocking him out of the ring, then accidentally dropkicks Mephisto, knocking him out. Olimpico gets Volador in a 'rana while Negro and Shocker just and there. They probably should break it up, but they don't really need to - Averno and Mephisto rush in and do it for them!  This was bound to happen. Boots to the Guerreros. Shocker boots out Averno, Mephisto tells Negro to boot him out and he eventually does. Volador grabs Olimpico as the other tecnicos stand around. Ah, a plan. Suplex for Olimpico, not even close to the spot where Shocker wants it. Shocker goes up, ah, a flying elbow drop will work from there. One two three.

Replays and that's that.
