CMLL CAN52 GdR - 10/27/07 (#101)
Recapped: 10/27/07

Intro: Announcers have no one to hang out with! That's what happens where there is only two people in the main event (and they're surely coming from another show.) Announcers discuss how both guys are champions and neither title is on the line. Mistico and Averno do pre-taped promos. Averno's slightly more fired up.

Outside Of The Ring: Sombra talks with his mask on, but we see him about his neighborhood with his mask off - only seeing the back of his head and occasionally blurred face. Negro Casas makes a random cameo.

Match 1: Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico (c) vs Felino (c), Leono, Stuka Jr.
Arena Mexico, 10/19/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:04
Approx Rating: Fine enough for this match.
Other Match Notes: Intros during the open. No promos, and we join right after the Stuka/Euforia sequence (booo!)

1: Satanico watches Felino (in green?) rush all the way around the ring and pose. I was expecting Satanico just to belt him when he got done, but so was Felino, and he armdrags the punch. Satanico gets in a back elbow on his second try, and makes sure to mock Felino. Open hand slap. Whip, hiptoss, Felino hits his own. Felino off the ropes, waved by, and back with a spinning armdrags. Out goes Felino, in comes Euforia, right into a backdrop. Felino hustles out of the ring, and Stuka Jr. comes flying in from a neutral corner with a splash. That was completely random. Stuka rolls to his feet, Nosferatu comes in to grab him, Stuka moves, and Euforia boots his partner. Leono rushes into to add his slingshot tornillo on Nosferatu, and Stuka gives Euforia spinebuster slam so Felino can add a top rope elbow drop. Stuka gets Satanico in a bodyscissors cradle, and the tecnicos have won lightning quick. (That would seem to be the idea.)

2: Start of the fall is clipped again, right to the end of Leono's sequence. We start with Stuka and Euforia instead. Euforia quickly takes a big monkey flip. Stuka does his handspring back flip bit, and Euforia boots him over while celebrating. Euforia taunts the tecnicos, charges Stuka, and takes a huge backdrop to the floor. Stuka teases a dive, Euforia ducks down, Stuka jump to the apron, then to the middle rope for a huge headscissors. Stuka rushes back in the ring to pose. Satanico in, Felino in to belly bump him over. Satanico fires back with a back elbow. Whip, Felino sunset flip, Satanico quickly escapes (count never makes it on screen.) Satanico tries to do something, but Felino quickly stops that with a small package - and the Infernales rush the ring, stomping all the tecnicos. Leono's held and worked over by the novice duo while Satanico clears the rest. Why does Leono have beads in his hair this week? Corner whip for him, running corner splash by Euforia, running corner clothesline by Euforia. They're going full speed into the corner, no screwing around. Leono is lifted up onto Euforia's shoulders for a big spinebuster, and triple submission pose to finish him off. Stuka rushes the ring, and actually gets in some shorts on Euforia because the other two are celebrating. The numbers waste no time in catching up to him. Big double spinebusters for him, and the full nelson stretch to finish him.

El Arte De Catch: Tirantes el los brazos - this is the old Rings of Saturn grounded double armbar submission

3: Rudos still in complete control. Leono is isolated in the ring, his leg held out for a Euforia running boot. Boot to the head to send him out. Felino makes a couple of feints and leaps onto Nosferatu so he can get in some shots before he's swarmed. He gets kicked in the knee once and rolls out. Stuka brought in, and Satanico tells his men to hold him in the center of the ring so he can - yell at the crowd first, I see. Satanico walks over to Stuka, but Stuka gets in a kick to knock him down! Nosferatu and Euforia pound Stuka so such things won't happen again. Satanico belts Stuka hard in the chest. Stuka fights free to get in one, but he's grabbed again for another shot. The refs actually get involved, which allows Stuka go free again  - Euforia takes him down with a boot to the back to make sure he stops fighting. Stuka's held down on the floor, and Felino's beat up on the apron for trying to get involved. Leon's brought in as Stuka's worked over in the corner, and I'm not sure the Infernales know what they want to do here. Stuka's kneed out of the ring, and Satanico throws Leono around by his hair, then orders his men to do the same. And so they do. The beads stay in, so that's one point for Leono. Nosferatu gives Leono a big flapjack. Satanico pulls Stuka over the top rope and back in by his mask. All the rudos grab a tecnico and go for a bulldog, but they all get shoved off into each other. Leono tries a 'rana on Euforia, but Euforia powerbombs him down. It immediately becomes apparent those two are way ahead of the other four in doing the same bit, so Euforia hurks Leono back up and powerbombs him down one more time to get back in synch. (That may have been the plan all along, because Leono reached for Euforia's hands to help him back up.) Euforia still gets the pin while the other guys are going thru spots. Felino tries a 'rana on Satanico, gets it, but Satanico kicks out. Stuka tries a headscissors cradle, but Nosferatu shoves him off. Satanico whips Felino, takes him down, and puts him in the figure four pin, though no one ever actually counts. Nosferatu gets Stuka in a Gory stretch at the same time, and that's the official end.

El Diseno: Sangre Azteca

Vignette: Random conversation with an Averno fan. I think I'm not supposed to notice all those open seats behind them. Actually, the cheaper seats look full.

Match 2: Averno vs Mistico
Arena Coliseo, 10/21/07

  1. Averno low blow kneelift (2:26)
  2. Mistico up and over sunset flip (4:44)
  3. La Mistica (5:43)

Winner: Mistico (2-1)
Match Time: 12:53
Approx Rating: Not to the levels of other matches. Mistico seemed limited, and almost got in two moves the whole match.
Other Match Notes: I guess Mistico's normal music is no good, but the Quinta Estacion music is okay? I wouldn't think that at all, but that's what happens here. Averno gets Generic Rudo Theme #1. They haven't really figured out what to do with the new graphics when it's a one on one match - they do trios lineups with just one picture.

1: Averno, despite entering second, still manages to jump Mistico outside the ring. That's magic. He wastes no time getting the fireman's carry flapjack on the apron. Averno tries to use the rope from his robe to choke out Mistico, but it doesn't quite work. Averno brings it and knocks down Mistico with a back elbow. Look at the kids with Mistico masks. Averno yelling at the crowd, crowd chanting for Mistico. Extreme close-up of Mistico seems to show extra padding around his eyeholes - some extra protection after UG's kick? Mistico tries to get up, Averno boots him, Mistico spins to the mat. Repeat! Whip, big boot again, Mistico ducking most of it and going out. HE pretty much feeds himself to Averno on the outside, who lifts him up on his shoulder and rams Mistico into the post. Averno's dominating this fall. He starts to pose on the outside, then decided to go in the ring to be angry at the crowd for still cheering for Mistico. Mistico sneaks in, but takes another boot to the head. He might want to come up with a strategy for that. Whip, low blow kneelift! Averno protests any foul call, then covers - one two three.

Q: [Mistico v Averno] "Cuando, quines fueron los seconds y contra quien se corono?" - that's a tough one, since the match never did air
A: Enero 2005. Volador Jr. was Mistico's second, and Loco Max was Averno's (that's who fault it is!)
We've got no second for this match.

Vignette: Random interview with Mistico fan. It's a woman, that's not a surprise

2: Averno still in complete control, sending Mistico out again with a back elbow. Lots of striking in this match. Fireman's carry gutbuster on the ramps, so you've got people (mostly kids) two feet away on either side yelling at Averno. Mistico gets back to his feet, but Averno gets him, lifts him, and crotches him directly into the post. Shots of Averno fans applauding. Here's a replay. That didn't look to be fun. I guess Averno's picked a body part. Mistico brought in, set up on the top rope, and ripping at Mistico's match. Foam comes out as he enlarges the eye holes, and that's the end of the padding. While Averno walks away to pose, Mistico takes a crazy backwards bump off the turnbuckle on his own. Armbar around the top rope. Corner whip, Averno charges, Mistico moves! Averno barely walks to a drop toe hold, but moves off the ropes in time to avoid the 619. Mistico gets a springboard headscissors on the next pass, sending Averno out - TOPE! Mistico had to go a long way to make it there. Averno had his feet on the ramp to catch Mistico, and Mistico just made it. Both back in, Mistico up and over sunset flip one two three. Noticeable boos mixed in with the cheers, but the Mistico chant is loudest.

El Arte del Catch: El Cructea de Piernas - a nudo variant.

Vignette: Random interview with Mistico fan. It's a woman, that's not a surprise. Yes, again.

3: We start with both guys on the mat. Why do you clip this match? (Why not clip in the first two falls instead.) Averno slams Mistico, then takes his time going up. Posing on top for a while, just to make sure we know this has no chance. Senton con giro comes up empty, Mistico barely rolling but still plenty out of the way. Mistico covers, one two no. There's a guy with a baseball cap that has Averno's horns on it. It looks so awesome. Best part of this match so far. Mistico slams Averno, and thinks about heading up. The fans are totally not behind this idea, and Mistico stops to listen to them multiple times. What's he going to do? He's going to come back in, and now some people are going to boo. Slam, and Mistico headed up again - Mistico moonsault, Averno moves, Mistico lands on his feet and dropkicks Averno in the knee as he charges. La Majistral, Averno gets an inside cradle and rolls thru, Averno La Majistral one two th-NO. Mistico looks like he has facepaint around his eye sockets - maybe that was it before. Mistico off the ropes, 'rana, Averno rolls thru one two NO. We're so into the slow count portion of our program. Averno picks up Mistico, powerbombs him, feet on the middle rope one two NO! Averno argues with the ref about something - I think, we're looking at the crowd - and Mistico inside cradles him one two NO. Really, you have to get four and a half to get three with Tigre Hispano, so Mistico is a genius for having a submission finisher. Look at the crowd. Mistico off the ropes, slides under a leapfrog, Averno tries a tilt-a-whirl but Averno escapes, Mistico spinning headscissors into La Mistica. Averno holds out...and then he doesn't.

Mistico makes copies "I want the belt" motions as we watch replays in split screen. Announcer asks Mistico how he came back from such a clear foul in the first fall to win, and Tigre Hispano starts yelling at the announcer for pointing out his mistake. That's the new best part. Mistico wants a title shot. Mistico randomly drops Dr. Wagner's name when challenging Averno to a mask/mask match. Averno says what the crowd says doesn't matter, then promptly gets distracted by an Averno chant. Averno's all ready to take Mistico on again. Mistico's ready to do it now, and so is Averno (though he's still holding his arm close in), but I guess we're not because the show just ends there.
