CMLL GdR - 05/12/07 (#77)
Recapped: 05/16/07
Intro: Jesus and Miguel handle this one. I've guess they've decided to split them up. Dr. Wagner talks for his team, seemingly five seconds before or after the one he did for FSE. He's all about Atlantis, natch. Atlantis has an Atlantis logo polo shirt, which is so perfect.
Promo: Mistico talks about his injury - he's going to get Perro and Warrior's hair for this.
Match 1: Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico (c) vs La Mascara (c), Mictlan, Virus
Arena Mexico, 05/04/07
Winner: Rudos (2-0)
Match Time: 9:55
Approx Rating: An angle.
Other Match Notes: Entrances, and long ones at that for this match.
Everyone slaps hands with fans on the side of the stage and stop to pose on the
stage for a bit, as if they were specifically given directions to do that. Oh,
right. Virus' music works with Virus. Lot of the same guys this weekend, eh? I
knew this going in and it still surprises me. Mictlan has a Mictlan pose, in
case you were wondering. I know I wasn't. Infernales come out with the black
hoods. Fans are still cheering more for Satanico. Camera guy is instigating
fights between the valets for his own amusement. I dunno why.
1: Virus and Satanico start off with a "What's your problem!?!?" "What's YOUR problem!?!?" tiff, and never get around to wrestling. Mictlan and Nosferatu will try instead. Nosferatu is taller than Mictlan, and much bigger. Satanico actually whiffs on a running back elbow to kill Mictlan as he comes in, but Euforia picks him up. Rudos clear out La Mascara, but hesitate on Virus, who puts up no fight. Crowd now hates Virus, so the rudos definitely leave him alone. Mictlan gets caught and and basically dropped back on his feet, that is odd. La Mascara gets worked over with punches and double shot to the midsection. Virus jumps in the ring, gets cornered, and Satanico asks the fans what they do. They want to see Virus beat, which displeases Virus greatly. Satanico tells his boys to lay off Virus. Mictlan comes into argue with Virus, and so he's jumped. Spinebuster, Nosferatu splash, no cover. Triple submission pose, that's it. La Mascara gets punked out arguing with Virus as well, and Virus even taunts Mascara while he's getting held. What a jerk. Infernales tease pressing Mascara out of the ring, get warned, and drop him in a gutbuster Satanico's knees anyway. Triple submission pose on him as well. Virus jumps in the ring, just to confirm the fall is over.
Promo: Black Warrior one from last week.
Promo: Olimpico goes over the answers for his trivia questions from last week.
Clips: Highlights from the lucha libre expo.
2: Rudos still in control to start this fall. Infernales tease doing something to Virus, and let him go. La Mascara and Mictlan just want Virus to leave before they kill him, but of course this leads to them getting attacked from behind yet again. I wonder if they're even going to get a comeback here? Mictlan takes corner charges - their big sequence is Satanico corner clothesline, Euforia corner clothesline, Euforia and Satanico yank the victim's legs apart, victim drops to his knees, and Nosferatu dropkicks him to the head. Mictlan comes in chest slapping, but that only lasts so long. Satanico kicks him questionably low. Crowd chanting something very loudly. Mascara is beat around on the mat. Virus jumping in, surrounded, and trying to talk peace. Mictlan should really stop coming in an arguing with him already! He gets beat up again. Crowd annoyed. More corner charges, and I think they need to wrap this one up. Nosferatu has a a running shoulderblock as one hoof his big moves, which is amusing. Mascara gets attacked for getting on the apron. He's at least trying kick Virus at all, which just leads him to being held on his knees while Virus slaps him to fire him up. Satanico is very amused. Crowd not so much. Another corner charge, but this one's finally missed, and La Mascara rolls under the double clothesline before socking Virus with a kick. La Mascara chases Virus around the ring and back in, where Virus runs into a Mictlan backbreaker. Infernales are just sitting back and watching. Mascara gets in a backbreaker too. Mascara charges Nosferatu and gets the bodyscissors roll up into the campana. Somehow, Euforia and Satanico are both busy with Mictlan, so Nosferatu is in danger - good thing Virus breaks up the hold with a chest slap. Virus stomps down Mascara as this turns into a four on two (as opposed to a three on two with one abstaining.) Full nelson/gutwrench on Mictlan ends him, and Nosferatu beats Mascara with a kneeling gory stretch. Straight falls.
Euforia lays the boots to Mictlan for good measure. Virus celebrates with the Infernales.

Match 2: Atlantis (c), Olimpico, Tarzan Boy vs Dr. Wagner Jr. (c), Marco Corelone, Negro Casas
Arena Coliseo, 05/06/07
Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:10
Approx Rating: Below average.
Other Match Notes: Wagner has his UWA title - I think that's what it is,
don't get a good look- though he's not wearing it this wearing it around his
waist. Negro does the pre-match promo. Evil Monkey is out with Atlantis, and has
suit has changed a bit - he's got a new head, for one. . Olimpico explains that
he's at an another level. Another level of what, I'm not sure.
1: Rudos jump the tecnicos. Random brawling, with the Evil Monkey getting in a little. Corelone takes a double suplex, and an Olimpico splash. I like how Olimpico is all about muscles, and his big move is a splash. So random. Wagner's hanging out with the fans rather than participating here, so Negro takes a double suplex in. Looks like Evil Monkey also has a Guerreros stile skirt.
Promos: Alex Koslov, Misterioso II at the expo. I guess they couldn't air any of these on FSE, because they all have the CAN52 microphone (except for the Warrior one, I think.)
Promo: Mr. Aguila at the lucha libre expo.
2: We look at girls watching the beatdown, because - I don't know. To show all the empty seats behind them? Olimpico slams Wagner on the outside. Monkey hangs out in the ring. Triple boot for Corelone. No tecnico in a hurry to come in. Corelone ends up kipping up and out on a corner whip - except Atlantis is way behind, so it doesn't look right, and the rest of the spots look off. Very practiced. Anyway, he hits the top rope springboard plancha on all of them. Negro gives Tarzan a dope toe hold and a crossface. Meanwhile, Wagner spits - water? beer? Let's assume the alcohol - in Olimpico's face. Kick, walking, holding him up there, holding him, powerbomb. Meanwhile, Corelone scares Atlantis into running all the way backstage. Evil Monkey gets off light, actually.
Promo: a guy with a ton of lucha libre tattoos.
Promo: Mephisto at the expo.
Promo: La Mascara at the expo.
3: Rudos staling to start, but at least Atlantis has made it back towards the ring. He protects Olimpico against mean ol' Wagner. Negro and Tarzan start in the ring, though it's not long before they get the DDT. Superkick count 1: Olimpico demands Negro stays in and faces him for whatever reason, and then complains about a foul off a dropkick to the knee almost immediately. Wagner in to soak up the crowd, and maybe even fight Atlantis. Atlantis works him over, but Wagner's too busy gesturing to the crowd to actually selling. Wagner gets a top rope Diamond Cutter as part of his comeback. Tarzan comes in to work him over, but Wagner has fun blocking hiptosses and gets him out with a dragon leg whip. Olimpico gets his turn, but poses too much after each corner shot, and Wagner turns it around to chop him instead. Wagner knocks him to the floor and follows him after him with his tope con giro. Tarzan Boy drop toe holds Negro, but charges him and ends up throwing himself out of the ring. Negro gets in his silla, so we're to Atlantis and Marco, and Atlantis is not very happy about this. Corelone gets in his springboard clothesline almost immediately, and that's it.
Evil Monkey tries a top rope plancha, but Corelone catches it, sets him own on the top rope, and gives him the big punch to knock him (slowly to the floor.)
Promo: Atlantis at the lucha libre expo.
Because the opener was only two falls, we get another break here, and come back for
Promo: Shocker (and KeMonito) at the lucha libre expo. Shocker's still here?
Back to the ring for Wagner posing. Replays. Wagner cuts a promo to kill the rest of the hour. Mask match with Atlantis, his house, his people, blah blah blah. Wagner teases punching an Atlantis fan, but holds up. That's nice of him.
That's it.
