AAA on Televisa #981 (03/12/2011)
Recapped: 03/03/11

Previously: Fabi Apache took a club to the leg. Extreme Tiger advanced in the Rey de Reyes tournament. Fuerza Aerea & Octagon & Elegido has problems with La Milicia. Perros beat the Clowns and Wagner talked about doing something.

Oh my gosh, AAA actually introduced a new character before throwing them on TV. Sure, it was all of thirty seconds, but Lolita paces and frets backstage prior to her debut. Gran Apache calms her down – she's trained with his family, she can do this. Hug of reassurance.

Match 1: Lolita, Mini Charly Manson, Sugi San vs Jennifer Blake, Mini Chessman, Ronin
Plaza De Toros El Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla, 02/19/2011

Winner: rudas
Match Time: 7:13
Rating: good debut, good match especially considering the variety
Notes: No entrances. Hijo del Tirantes is ref. This is a typical bull ring where you can see the fans on the floor and you can see the walls of the building, but you can't actually see anyone in the seats unless they happened to be doing a wide panning shot. Not that you could see them normally, since they've the main camera so zoomed in that only the very distracting video board and maybe the first two rows.

Chessman and Charly start, and don’t get far. Crowd chants Lolita's name, which is highly suspicious but okay. Lolita's first move is an walk up the corner rope flip armdrag. That's a way to start. Fabi kicks and forearms her around, but then técnico runs up the ropes and jumps off for another armdrag. A couple fancy ones for Mini Chessman too, and a dive fake. Sugi does a lot of flips and a dropkick. He also does a not-headscissors which involves him spinning around Ronin's head for a while, but never actually completing the takedown part of the move. Ronin shoves him off, Sugi tries to backflip back to the headscissors, and Sugi tries to come back for another spinning armdrag or headscissors, but that one falls part. Standing moonsault and Ronin rolls out. Obvious clip here. Back to the minis, who are okay. Mini Charly goes for a tope, but Ronin cuts him off with a dropkick from the apron, and the rudos take over from there. Lolita rushes in, but Tirantes pulls her down by the hair. Ronin picks her up over his shoulder, and runs her sternum first into the corner. That looked unfun. Charly hangs on the ropes on a double whip, setting up a Sugi dropkick of the male rudos to start the comeback. Lolita kicks down Jennifer, and Sugi nails her with his rope running dropkick. Sugi walks around the outside poses and the women fight it out. Lolita escapes a tilt-a-whirl and puts on a cerrajera. Chessman breaks that up with a high kick. Chessman sunset flips him, Chessman rolls thru for the dropkick, Charly moves and then superkicks him out. Springboard plancha to the floor connects. Lolita fights Jennifer Blake on the apron, and ends up tossing her off the top rope to the middle of the ring. Lolita going up – crowd shot? - something happened with Tirantes, but we missed most of it. Jennifer picks Lolita off the middle rope and powerbombs her for the one two three. Snappy count by Tirantes.

Apache runs in and dropkicks Tirantes. Slap for Jennifer, Tirantes runs off rather than get slapped.

Aerostar welcomes back Laredo Kid and informs him on the latest in Super Fly annoyance. Laredo has a slightly redesigned mask.

Match 2: El Elegido & Laredo Kid vs Alan Stone & Chris Stone
Plaza De Toros El Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla, 02/19/2011

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 9:45
Rating: eh
Notes: Joined as Elegido is hugging a random woman in the crowd. Stones jump tecnios while they're showing the lineup graphics. Piero is ref.

Beatdown goes on for a while. Stones give Laredo Kid a double press slam all the way to the floor, and I'm surprised he's not out for a lot longer after taking that. Beatdown goes all the way thru the opening segment.

As often, técnicos start the comeback aright after the break. Laredo flips Elegido to safety, and Chris spears the post on the way out. Elegido knocks Laredo down with an reverse plancha, and Laredo adds a springboard elbow drop. Things grind to a halt for a while, with the Stones walking around the outside and annoying the fans. Laredo headscissors one, dropkicks the other on his showcase. Elegido does not much of note. He somehow shoves Chris off a headlock into an Alan kick. Elegido clothesline Alan out. Laredo top rope tope con giro on Laredo, Elegido tope on Alan. Crowd is very into this match, myself not so much. Laredo back in, front suplex on Chris, modified Dragon sleeper by Laredo Kid. That seems like a lot of work. Alan tries to break it up, only succeeds in pulling down Elegido's trunks, and Elegido powerbombs him for the win. Crowd reacts big to the win.

Arturo plugs the 02/28 show, and pushes Konnan as the biggest star. That was odd.

Dorian is working on his laptop, when the Maniacos come in. Before they even stay anything, Dorian is talking to them about taking care of Extreme Tiger and Jack Evans. Manaicos says this will be no problem.

Match 3: Extreme Tiger & Jack Evans vs Silver King & Último Gladiador
Plaza De Toros El Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla, 02/19/2011

Winner: Extreme Tiger & Jack Evans
Match Time: 10:30
Rating: good
Notes: No entrances. Piero is ref.

Rudos try to jump the técnicos, but they turn the tables, send them out, and follow with tope con giros. Técnicos on fire early on (even if Tiger is weird to do a Northern Lights suplex, and then roll thru to a dropkick before spinning instead of just holding on. Gladiador gets dropkicked when trying to break up that pin, and Tiger holds Ultimo Gladiador on his back in a wacky submission to set up Jack's standing twisting moonsault. Técnicos get both rudos down and go for top rope moves, but the rudos jump up and stop them with a superplex and a spinning DDT one two no. Rudos in charge from there. Silver King and Ultimo Gladiador are very much in sync in their moves, including a corner sequence on Tiger that leaves him crotched on the post. Something with Jack seems clipped out. Rudos pose and get boos. Gladiador drops Jack with a nice turning backbreakers. Silver gives Tiger a gutbuster. Rudos whip Tiger into the crowd. Jack crawls back over, so Silver King throws him back in again. Rudos rip up a Jack Evans poster that actually looks fan made. Silver tosses Tiger into another gutbuster. Tiger starts the comeback off a whip, headscissoring Gladiador out and sort of getting Silver with an armdrag. Bad dropkick keeps Silver down, Tiger flips to the apron, fights the rudos away, and springboard tornillos to the floor. Jack double stomps Silver on the back on his way back in the ring, knocking Silver out. Jack runs, and follows with a space Tiger Flying Drop. Everyone down. Tiger and Silver back in, Tiger getting in a spinning DDT. Casadora into a bad cradle into a bridge, one two Gladiador steps over it to break it up. Forearm knocks Jack back out of the ring. Silver tells UG to go to his corner – why? Silver picks up Tiger and chops him right back down. Tiger set up on the top rope, pulled off in a Gori Stretch position, and Gladiador gets in his own flying double stomp. Jack back in, and Gladiador powerbombs him while Silver King gives Extreme Tiger a face first crucifix powerbomb. Rudos cover, one two NO. Gladiador tries a brainbuster but Jack reverses to a small package, one two no. Silver King too buys setting up his own failed move – Tiger escapes a crucifix powerbomb with an armdrag into a cradle for two. Everyone running all over the place for a second. Jack pulls down the ropes for Silver to go out, and follows with a nice springboard moonsault. Gladiador left in with Tiger, and he connects on a superkick to the smaller man. Many replays for Jack's move, and we're missing the action now. Gladiador must’ve slammed Tiger, because now he's going up. Top rope legdrop – misses. Gladiador dropkick misses, catches him in the ropes, and Tiger lands the top rope double stomp, one two three. Crowd cheers big. Crowd very into it.

Konnan is now on a laptop, but LA Park surprise him. Konnan tells him he's not on this show, but of course that's not what LA Park just wants to complain about not Konnan not living up to his promises.

Match 4: El Mesías vs AerostarElectroshockSúper Fly in a AAA's Rey de Reyes semifinall match
Plaza De Toros El Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla, 02/19/2011

Winner: Mesías
Match Time: 13:28
Rating: good!
Notes: Super Fly's entrance. Two purposes here: to appreciate that Super Fly appears to be using a Marilyn Manson remix of “Sweet Dreams”, and so we can watch Laredo Kid attack him from behind. Security pulls him off with in five seconds, but Super Fly still acts very hurt. That's charitable of him. Tropicasas is ref and not really concerned. Aerostar rushes out and tease punching him, but Super Fly begs off. Aero helps him up and kicks him down. Punches. Poor Super Fly! Aerostar pummeling a guy does not look good at all. Super Fly finally stops that with a headbutt, then Aerostar runs into a backdrop all the way to the floor. Oh no, now it's Electroshock coming out! Horrible time to be Super Fly. Super Fly tries begging off again, and Electro just starts punching him. Old times! Electro stops to get his name announced, and then punches more. Kick, forearms, many more punches to the head. Elector's pummeling is a lot better than Aerostar, no lie. Mesías music finally stops the beating, but only for a little bit. Mesías rushes into clothesline Electroshock, but then hiptosses Super Fly al the way to the floor.

Whilst rings, and Aerostar jumps on Mesías from behind. Because he's dumb, I guess. Mesías throws him off and down. Mesías and Electroshock fight, and Electroshock actually pulls off a powerslam out of the corner for a near fall. Super Fly, with his arm tucked in and looking very hurt, comes into confront Electroshock for god knows what reason. Electro slaps him down. Aero starts pounds Electro in the back, and both former partners work over Electroshock with slaps and punch and headbutts at the same time. Because he is Electroshock and they are cruiserweights, he almost fights them off, but they are able to subdues him with chops. They are not strong enough to whip him on the first try, but do hold him in an armbar for kicks. Whip, Electroshock ducks a double clothesline and knocks them both over. Of course he does. Mesías comes back in and drops Electroshock with a tackle. Replays. They return to the match with the small guys dropkicking the big guys. Electro is knocked clear out of the ring, and the Air Force team work over Mesías. Glad Super Fly and Aero are so easily able to put away their issues. Drop toe hold, dropkick to the head. Super Fly top rope senton turns into more lf a double legdrop. Aero's springboard splash is more well aimed. Aero starts to cover, and then just stops covering for no apparent reason. I guess Electroshock was late coming up on the apron to distract him. Aero gets up and runs into a kick. Super Fly whips Mesías into the corner, but of course misses the charge. Electroshock kicks him away from the corner, and Super Fly walks into a bad Straight To Hell. Mesías covers, and Electro breaks it up because he's an idiot. Maybe he just has to beat Super Fly himself. Super Fly and Mesías do the big face off. No, don’t. Corner reversal bits, lead to Mesías hitting the post, and Electroshock dropping Mesías with a weak cutter. Electro easily sidesteps a Super Fly dropkicks, then tossing him down easily on a handspring. Whip, reversed, Electro boots Super Fly down. Clip. Super Fly spins thru the ropes to send Electro out, and follows with an ice tope con giro. Much better catch by Elector this week! Break.

Aero dropkicks Mesías in the knee. Bad time for a celebration. Aero says this is it and goes up. Middle rope plancha is caught and sort of powerslammed. Mesías doesn't try for a pin, standing Aero up and chopping him. Shirt unzipped, so Mesías can chop harder. Corner whip, Mesias clothesline. Aerostar stet up on the top rope, Mesías climbs up to join him, Aerostar fights him off and drops down. Mesías misses a clothesline, Aero spins over the ropes to apron and kicks Mesías away. Springboard dropkick sends Mesías out. Dive? No hands tope! Aerostar grabs his head after a delay, as if it takes some time to sink in. Super Fly comes back in, but there’s no one to fight. Aero star makes it back in. Crowd shot clip. Super Fly steps Aero down. Whip, flapjack. Super Fly off the ropes, dropkick to the side. Another clip. Electroshock in, running and kicking Super Fly. HARD powerbomb on Super Fly. Electro stomps him out of the ring as Mesías comes in. Slap to the face battle – this was good last time, is good this time. They spill outside, and Electroshock poses Mesías. Pepe Casas decides to pay attention this, which means he misses the others returning to the ring. Aero tries for a headscissors, but Super Fly catches him and drops him with a martinete. Super Fly reclines on top as Pee Casas turns around, one two three. Aerostar opts for small seizures, compared to Oficials AK-47's coma. A doctor, a security guy, and paramedics quickly come in to put Aero on backboard and keep Super Fly away from him. Aerostar is put in a neckbrace and stretched out.

With Mesías down on the outside, Electroshock is free to attack Super Fly. Super Fly's handspring plancha gets caught, but Super Fly turns into a crucifix cradle. Super Fly headscissors cradle, Electroshock reverses to get on top, Pepe Casas counts 1, Super Fly rolls back on top, 1, pause, 1, 2 kickout. I guess Super Fly adjusted the pin there, but it sure looked like three on the first watch. It sure looked bad is another way of saying it. Wrestlers are unaware, and Super Fly slaps Electroshock hard in the corner, fighting of Elector's attempts to stop him. Corner whip, corner clothesline. Super Fly charge again, Electro lifts over him and tries a backslide, Super Fly rolls thru, dropkick knocks Electro right back in the corner where he starts. Super Fly sets Electro on top. This will end bad! Super Fly climbs up, punches Electroshock a bit, and sets up for the 'rana. The 'rana, of course, is blocked, superbomb. That powerbomb earlier looked more painfully, actually, but this one is one two three.

Mesías and Electroshock go face to face, patting each other on the check. Slap fight turns into Mesías clothesline Electroshock twice. Third time is caught into a fujiwara – nothing Electroshock does is cleanly does, but he gets the best of the armbar. Mesías gets his foot on the ropes, which is good enough for him. Cut to the aisle, where Laredo Kid is pummeling Super Fly. No security this time – I guess they're all helping with Aerostar? Ah, now they've found it, and it take about eight people to pull Laredo Kid off. Mesías and Elector keep going in the ring, which is probably not the best of ideas. Electro rolling side legsweep into an inverted figure four does not look great, but he gets it on. Mesías can see the ropes but can't quite reach them. Crowd gets back in to match on this, and Mesías gets the ropes again. Laredo Kid is dragged off, Super Fly is helped to the back. Electro turns Mesías around, lifts him up, and Mesías sneaks behind for a reverse rolling cradle. One two no. Mesías gets shoved off, charge, kicked questionably low, and powerbombed flat on the mat. One two NO. Crowd behind Mesías. Electroshock slaps Mesías in the face, knocking him down. Mesías slowly up, slapped down again. Mesías up again, elector of the ropes, and punching Electro in the face. Electro spins around, and Mesías backcrackers him. Top rope splash one two three!

Mesías finds a camera to scream his promo into.

Rey de Reyes promo. This includes the locations where people can buy tickets, which is a great idea. The URL they give is ticketportal.com – which is a Switzerland ticket site, and not the one you can buy Rey de Reyes tickets from.

Clipped up in-ring Sociedad promo! Konnan says Cibernético revealed there's a traitor in the group, and he's going to find out who the rat is. Everyone seems nervous. Huh.

Video package: the masked Zorro from two years ago! A lot of things they do really needs video packages to explain it, but this one more of all. A fine start. Plenty of clips of Zorro being an lunatic from the last of couple years in here, and occasionally arguing with Konnan. Charly Manson back and masking people. They even brought back the psychiatrist bit where she thinks Zorro is crazy because of Konnan. A fine attempt to make us think ther'es a big plan here.

Match 5: Dr. Wagner Jr., Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Damián 666, Halloween, Super Crazy, X-Fly
Plaza De Toros El Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla, 02/19/2011

Winner: técnicos (by DQ)
Match Time: 10:47 (2:16+4:55+3:36)
Rating: Usual.
Notes: Perros enter as a group. X-Fly has his Perros del Mal title but not his other ones. Bestia 666 was out with the group during the last promo, but isn't here now. Ringside guy has to bring out a trash barrel for them, that can't end good. Piero is ref. I can't believe there are twenty minutes left in this show. Psycho Clown wears a head on a chain around the neck, and the head falls of the chain before he can make it down the stairs. He is jumping around like a fool, that helps. Arturo announces the group as “Murder Clown, Psycho Clown y todos Los Clowns”. A little gun shy! Monster dancing with a light tube does not promise me much for this match. Wagner has the “bien bien bein”s added to the front of his music. So WWE 2003. Perros attack as Wagner's posing. Arturo announces this as a lucha extrema match, because it's going to be anyway.

Beatdown thru the first segment. Murder Clown tries to start the comeback in the second, but he's clocked with the trash cans and speared by Halloween. X-Fly tries a top rope senton con giro with Monster Clown laying on the can (because X-Fly makes poor choices) and Monster get up in time to start the beatdown. Chairs and can shots around for the técnicos to clean the ring. Técnicos take turns doing a move to all the técnicos, including pres slamming Wagner on op of Super Crazy. Psycho adds the low blow headbutt. Everyone settles into the corners, and then Piero informs them they’re all standing in the wrong corners. That's kind of great. Técnicos showcase time. Wagner almost kills Damian. Halloween is going to wrestle the match without taking off his toque. Slide out for him, break for us.

Joined with Psycho Clown and X-Fly just finishing up – Psycho topes X-Fly within seconds. Super Crazy take a Monster Clown to the apron, and is elbowed off, but trips the clown off the apron to prevent a dive. Did Monster Clown's bit get completely cut out? Back to Wagner and Damian, and a Wagner cutter off the middle rope. Wagner dropkicks Damian out, poses on the apron and lands his dive. Halloween and Murder Clown go chest to chest (or more like head to chest.) Chops lead to kicks lead to a Murder double choke. Halloween's press slammed. Murder Clown going up. Slowly – slowly enough for Super Crazy to trips him up. Rudos bring in a wood panel and a lot of chairs. Halloween and Super Crazy quickly make a table. Crazy throws some extra chairs on the table, and they both go to work on a double suplexes. I don’t know if that's going to make it far enough, but the other clowns stop it anyhow – stacked up superplex for the pile, Clowns powerbombing the Perros thru. Crowd does not really react big. Damian and X-Fly bump the Clowns out of the ring, and X-Fly slingshots sentons to the floor. Damian and Wagner left in. Damian waved by, slides under, Wagner turns, kicks him, Wagner Driver. Cover, but I have no idea where Piero is. He just inexplicably left the ring during this sequence. Perro Aguayo Jr. runs to the ring, but I bet he's not here to count three. I guess X-Fly has Piero in the corner? Perro stomps Wagner like a crazy man. Piero sneaks back over quick enough to call the DQ.

Everyone jumps back in the ring, and the Perros get the better of it. Wagner’s music starts playing after a delay. Super Fly and the Stones and maybe others from La Sociedad run in – everyone's in their street clothes, it's tough to tell. Ah, there's Silver King and Konnan. Ultimo Gladiador is around here somewhere. Clowns and Wagner are pretty well destroyed. Perro rips Wagner’s mask and bites his head. X-Fly makes sure to stand as close to him as possible to get on camera. Hey, there’s Bestia. Missed him coming out here. Joaquin Roldan marches out and tells his guys to hurry to the back. They have no idea why.

In the back, Mesías is down and bloody and no one's really checking on him. That seems like a bad idea. Wagner and Psycho Circus rush in. Mesías is covered in blood. Either he has a gaping wound, or someone poor it on him. He's not moving, and the actual doctor is checking his eyes. Wagner is so concerned that he starts yelling a promo. One clip later, and Mesías is taken out on a stretcher. Wagner's promo is subtitles – the sound isn't that bad, but it's nice idea. Wagner has a plan, but they need Parka.

Who could've attacked Mesías? Well, here's LA Park, in a bloody and torn shirt, kicking down Konnan's door. I wonder what he could've possibly been doing! Park sent Mesías to a hospital, as required. He did it! Konnan is happy, but not so much when LA Park leaves.
