AAA on Televisa #928 (03/06/2010)
Recap: 03/11-12/2010

Previously: Cinthia Moreno & Sexi Star did not get along. Also, Decnnis didn't get along with Hermandad, which would be fine if they weren't partners. Legion beat up Cibernético, who should be fine this week by normal recovery standards. So should the dog. Electroshock beat some people.

Match 1: Gato Eveready, Lasser Boy, Relampago vs Rio Bravo II, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana
Gimnasio Lazano Cardenas, Salamanca, 02/07/2010

Winner: Poder el Norte
Match Time: 7:37
Rating: OK
Notes: No intros, everyone just suddenly in the ring. Pepe Casas is ref. Six sided ring.

Rudos rush the técnicos, but they all quickly turn it around, sending all the rudos out with armdrags and such. Técnicos teas the triple dive, but the rudos wisely bail.

Tease of one on ones, but Lasser Boy gets ambushed by all the rudos. His partners are kinda passive about it, but at least they’re not being hit. Laser Boy ducks under a double clothesline to tag in Gato, who immediately misses a dropkick. Need a better plan. Gato makes his own comeback, going thru the two that aren't Cota, and setting up Rio Bravo for a Relampago springboard splash. Bravo eats Relampago’s offense, which include running the ropes and flipping off. Relampago celebrates, is dropkicked. Lasser Boy headscissors Tito out and follows with a tope. Gato pulls Cota into an arm trap headscissors submission, but Bravo breaks it up and randomly start the beatdown from there.

Lasser Boy gets the Infernal stretch, and a powerbomb off that. Relampago misses his turn to get kicked around, so Gato takes it twice. Nice face first powerbomb/cutter combo on him, with Cota adding a top rope elbow drop. Relampago come in after, taking the dropkick while hanging on the apron, though he just gets flipped to the floor instead being thrown into the barricade. Poder el Norte playing nice this week, I guess. Lasser reverses a toss into a headscissors on Tito to start the comeback. Tigre Cota slows him down with an back elbow, and then fights off Gato with a big boot. Gato is able to reverse a whip, sending him into a Relampago backdrop to the floor. Lasser adds a top rope armdrag to the floor, while the técnicos clean up on the other in the ring. Gato holds Bravo in a bridging reverse chin lock, leaving the rudo's face open for Relampago's dropkick, but Relampago tries to dropkick him in the back of the head or something. Very strange, and then Relampago has to be told to run into Tito's backdrop to the floor. Gato trips him up, and Relampago kills him with a springboard legdrop to the back of the head. Rio Bravo breaks up that pin, but Gato escapes a wheelbarrow and dropkicks Bravo out. Gato whips Relampago, who does a double jump rope flip moonsaults to the floor, quite complicates. Gato and Ito in, Tito misses a running boot and throws himself out, Gato follows with the tornillo. Lasser Boy and Tigre Cota back in, Lasser with a top rope plancha to knock Cota down. Laser Boy gets up, does some martial arts poses, and then a dodge as Cota charges. Spinning thrust kick to the head, off the ropes, 'rana – no, Tigre Cota blocks it, pulls him up and powerbombs him hard. Cover, one two three. Well, that's one character killed.

Maybe they'll build on it? Naaah. At least Poder el Norte has fine music, the three seconds we hear of it.

Backstage: Konnan is talking to someone on the cell (hmm), but Sexi requests a moment of his time – she needs the Legion's help with something. Konnan says nothing in this life is free, and Sexi sits on his lap and stats whispering in his ear. I guess that'll do. Poor Billy Boy.

After a break, Alex, Konnan and Sexi Star corner Cinthia Moreno in a locker room. Konnan closes the door, and we hear a lot of screaming and things hitting the walls, but see nothing. The Legion leave the ring, and Cinthia is down, holding her head.

Match 2: Fabi Apache & Mari Apache vs Alex Koslov & Sexy Star
Gimnasio Lazano Cardenas, Salamanca, 02/07/2010

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 8:31
Rating: Better than expected
Notes: Sexi Star comes out herself, followed by Konnan, Hijo de Tirantes and Alex, Konnan explains Cinthia had an accident, so Alex will be taking her place. Crowd does not approve.

Apaches jump Alex to start, with Alex getting in nothing and flying all over the place every time he's hit. Sexi is able to sneak in and kick Fabi down from behind as a result, but Fabi quickly turns it around is pound Sexi. Hijo del Tirantes pulls Fabi off for pulling hair, but Fabi still keeps control. Apache sure like hitting Sexi Star in the back of the head. Alex trips up Fabi Apache when going for a dropkick, superkicks Mari, and stomps Fabi and Sexi stomps Mari. Lots of stomping. Alex mixes it up by tossing Fabi, and holding Mari for Sexi to kick. Not much of a mix up, but what can you do. Alex goes out to attack Fabi some more, dropping her on the barricade. Sexi goes out to – annoy the front row, I Guess. Alex pulls a chair out of the crowd, because this is really the match that calls for that. Sexi smashes Fabi's head into the chair. Alex brings in Mari, and odes the same. Back to forearms and such. Alex sets up the chair so it's on top of a corner, leaves Mari in the middle of the ring, chairs for no reason, and gets tossed into the chair (not really, but he hops forward to make it work.) Fabi decides Sexi has hit her enough and kick her down. Mari clotheslines Sexi, while Fabi readies the chair so Sexi can go face first into it the. Apache grab Alex, who tries to block them, but still ends up face first into the chair. Alex tied in the corner, and Fabi kicks him questionably low (so low, he hits the buckle underneath.) Mari too, Alex in an extreme pain. Hijo Tirantes thinks about calling a DQ, and he appears to be in the right for once, but the Apaches threaten him. Before that can be resolved, Sexi attacks them both from behind. Sexi and Mari have a kick contest that's surprisingly even for a little bit. Whip, Sexi back with a headscissors, Mari out, and Sexi after her with a tope con giro form the apron. Fabi and Alex in, exchanging slaps to the face. Fabi gets backdropped to the apron, but kicks Alex in the face from here. Fabi up top, missile dropkick flattens Alex. Fabi up top again – right into the superkick. Alex poses, then grabs Fabi, turns her over, and puts her in the Red Scare. That's it.

For no reason, Extreme Tiger rushes out, puling Alex down by his hair, and blowing up Sexi with a springboard dropkick. Wheel kick for Alex too, and a thru the ropes dropkick nails Alex. Tiger goes back in to check on Fabi, but only for a split second – he’s got some posing to do. Priorities! Maybe he was just asking Fabi to get out of the way of his climb up the top rope? Alex gets the microphone, and demands a title shot vs Tiger at Rey de Reyes.

Zorro is ranting. Check.

Hijo de Tirantes is working out backstage. Of course he is. Piero wanders over to lecturing him on fair refereeing. Tirantes doesn't seem to appreciate this much.

Match 3: Crazy Boy & Extreme Tiger vs Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario
Gimnasio Lazano Cardenas, Salamanca, 02/07/2010

Winner: Hermandad
Match Time: 6:47
Rating: standard
Notes: No entrances! Piero is ref.

Standard Heramanad match. Attack off the bat from rudos, beatdown for about five minutes, técnicos make a flashy move comeback. Extreme Tiger has a nice twisting plancha in here. Everyone takes turns doing moves from that point on. Tiger tries the sliding dropkick n Lider, but Lider catches him and tosses him into the barricade. Crazy Boy catches a jumping Nicho in to a back suplex, goes up for a moonsault, and gets punched off by Lider. Samoan drop/blockbuster combo for the finish.

Backstage, Konnan tells Alex no to worry about the Clowns, he's got to focus on the Clowns. Alex is not down with two matches I one night, but Konnan assures him it won't be hard – it'll be 4 on 3, since they took out Cibernético last week.

In some sunny alley, Nicho is very proud of their success, but Lider is very angry and keeps pulling Nicho away form the camera. Lider wants to run a tournament to determine a new champion. I don't know why, but he's pretty set on it. So there you go. Who knew Joe Lider was booker.

Recap: hey, remember when the Clowns won this match last time? They're still angry about their masks getting ripped.

Match 4: Cibernético, Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Alex Koslov, Chessman, Konnan, Zorro
Gimnasio Lazano Cardenas, Salamanca, 02/07/2010

Winner: Cibernético & Psycho Circus
Match Time: 9:01 (5:38+3:23)
Rating: OK
Notes: As Chessman makes his entrance (with Tirantes), Cibernético is shown arriving. He kicks a random oil drum, shoves a guy with a microphone (?), and shoves Crazy Boy into a door for no reason. Sucks to be Crazy Boy! Cibernético finds Konnan and attacks him form behind, punching him thru the entrance area and onto the steps. Microphone guys is not so hurt that he can't turn up here and give Cibernético the microphone for his catchphrase. Second break in about 3 minutes here.

Cibernético batters Konnan to the ring, which backfirst when there are three guys (and one stick) waiting for him. Psycho Circus hurry out to make the save, and actually are successful at it. Kinda expecting them just to get beat, by the clean the ring. Cibernético is wearing his full body jump suit. I wonder what they could possibly mean! Zorro gets pressed by Murder Clown but gets away. Alex gets pressed, and tossed over the top rope onto the other two. Konnan does not appreciate – he still hasn't taken over his Cuban jacket. Cibernético gives Chessman a superplex; I had to rewind three times to make sure I was seeing tat right. Monster adds a top rope splash. Announcers drop angel Azteca's name and I almost wish I was paying enough attention to know why. Psycho adds a top rope low blow headbutt. Cibernético's very much more involved with team this time. Murder does the giant flying sit onto Zorro's back. Alex takes a super high backdrop. Cibernético grabs him for the chokeslam, but Alex gets free and runs away. Murder follows him out, and presses him up. Zombie and Psycho do running dropkicks to knock him out of his hands. Konnan in, and surrounded. Everyone stomps and jumps on him with punches. Tirantes eventually pulls Cibernético off, allowing Konan to roll free. Cibernético threatens to murder Tirantes, but does not. What a tease. Another break in here.

Chessman comes in and get stomped a lot, but it buys time for Konnan to get a chair and hit everyone. Zorro does the same with the cane. Beatdown. Alex and Chessman have a race to see who can get in their moves first. Since Chessman only has the spear, he wins! Crowd is LOUD for the Payasos. Cibernético makes a comeback by reversing Chessman head first into a chair. Cibernético goes thru both Zorro and Chessman, backdrop the first into a pescado on the second. Konnan teases coming in, but instead limps off, walking towards the entrance. Meanwhile, Murder Clown drops Alex with a fallaway slam, Psycho adds a splash, and Monster dopes his own off Murder’s shoulders. One two three. I don't know where Chessman and Zorro went there, but that didn't work well for them.

While Electroshock warms up, Dr. Wagner Jr. rants, happy about the success Electroshock is bringing to WagnerManiacos. Electro tells Wagner to get it in his head – he's doing this for himself, no one else. Wagner can not believe the nerve of that man.

Video: Electroshock won the Rey de Reyes, then kinda did nothing for a year. Title shot time!

Joaquin Roldan talks about Rey de Reyes from his office. He announces 12 people will be in the tournament (no names given) and that the mega title match will be a four way.

Match 5: El Mesías & Marco Corleone vs Dr. Wagner Jr. & Electroshock
Gimnasio Lazano Cardenas, Salamanca, 02/07/2010

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 15:01
Rating: usual. Strong finish.
Notes: Electroshock wears his Ultimatum mask once again. He sure has a lot of them, all which match his outfit. Maybe he's just feeling nostalgic.

Piero is ref. Rudos jump the técnicos. Electroshock gives Mesías a big hammerlock slam, which is a cool visual even if it wasn't going anywhere. Wagner keeps Marco grounded, which reminds me Marco had a devastating knee injury a while back that was never mentioned again. I hope he's OK. Electroshock opts Mesías in an inverted figure four, but Marco stomps to break that up, then punches Dr. Wagner Jr. (busy doing jumping jacks.) Electro takes Marco down with a chair jab and rudos take back over. Comeback spot is supposed to be Mesías whipped towards the corner, but Marco leapfrogging over him to clothesline the rudos. Mesías doesn't quite duck enough, and clips out Marco's knee, so he only reaches Electro to knock him down. Wagner acts as if his eye has been poked, and Marco recovers to lay him out with a punch. Mesías gets moves on both guys, and they punch them out of the ring. Wagner loudly swings a chair into the post, and into the desk because he's just that angry about the fans chanting for Mesías. He scares the crap out of the announcers in the process.

Mesías gets the showcase first, with an extend fight against Wagner. Again, Mesías goes for the martinete, and again it's broken up, this time by Electro. That set sup the big Electro/Marco face off, which ends with Marco backdropped Electro to the apron, then dropkicking him to the floor. Wagner ends up going face to hip swivel, then makes some size judgments. Wagner reacts to getting punched in the face by arguing with someone in the front row. Marco lands the springboard clothesline on him, punches Electro off the apron, and flattens him with the running plancha to the floor. Mesías gets a reverse rolling cradle on Wagner for two. Clothesline is blocked, and Wagner grabs Mesías, wedging up his trunks, and dropping him in sit down powerbomb. One two kickout. Mesías immediately fixes his trunks. Wagner kick is caught, Mesías spins him, grabs him, wedges up his shorts, and powerbombs him one two NO. Mesías heads up top, but Wagner punches him and joins him up there. Top rope superplex, both down one two both get a shoulder up. Wagner covers on a delay, one two no. Mesías – the one the crowd is behind here – sidesteps a Wagner charge and throws him out. Mesías follows with a pescado, and Wagner throws himself onto the announce desk. Marco and Electro back in. Marco is hipped into the corner, but Electro ducks under the springboard clothesline and catches him with a running cutter. One two three.

Long break, then the wrap up video. That's it.
