AAA on Televisa #927 (02/27/2010)
Recap: 03/04/10
Recaps: Mini Abismo Negro wins the AAA Minis Title (Mini Charly briefly shown, Octagoncito shown more.) Vipers 2.0 vs Secta. LOADED GLOVE. The Loaded Glove is my current favorite thing about AAA, so I'm sure it'll be doing off TV matches with Argenis and Poder el Norte soon. Pimpi making the save for the Wagnermaniacos, and paying the price. Morishima vs Mesías. Getting Morshima up on his shoulders still is impressive. Zorro ranting to close it off. And break, before the show actually starts.
Match 1: Mascarita Sagrada, Mini Charly Manson, Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Histeria, Mini Psicosis
Gimnasio Ignacio Manuel AltaMirano de la BUAP, Puebla, 02/05/2010
Winner: Técnicos by DQ
Match Time: 6:45
Rating: OK, but there's been better ones of these.
Notes: HOLY COW are there empty seats visible. You never see them on the floor, but you can see them right now in the right side of the main shot. Other shots show barren upper levels. Anyway, no introductions. Hijo del Tirantes is ref, but he was clean last week so I'll give him a shot.
Mini Abismo avoids Mini Charly to start, and Mini Charly won't leave, so this takes a while. Six sided ring, and the Vipers are wearing new blue/yellow/red outfits. It's a classic design, but not one they've really done before. Mini Abismo comes in, and a shoving match breaks out. Abismo takes it to the mat, Mini Charly getting an armbar is the first time either guy has control more than second long. Abismo chest slaps his way free. Whip, Charly comes back with a faceslam, and takes them both out with a clothesline. Sagrada and Psicosis in, Psi missing a dropkick right way. Sagrada under a leapfrog, into a bodyscissors armdrag. Psicosis slid to the ropes, and Sagrada gets him there with an armdrag. Off the ropes, and Sagrada escapes a backdrop into an armdrag. Psi out, and Sagrada follows with an Asai moonsault into a – looks like he wanted another armdrag, but Psi just fell down on the dive. Octagoncito in and doing his repetitive kip ups. Histeria is not amused, but the crowd is. Crowd is loud, or maybe that's the just the horns. Octagoncito off the ropes, back, sliding under the leapfrog, and back again with a spinning armdrag. Histeria rushes by, turns around, and clotheslines Octagoncito. That looked a bit off, so Histeria pauses a moment to think about it. Octagoncito is knocked backwards into the corner. Corner whip, Octagoncito charges, Histeria flips him up, Octagoncito headstands, Histeria celebrates unwittingly, then turns and charges. Octagoncito moves just in time for Histeria to boink his head on the corner, then comes back in with a plancha. Octagoncito headscissors sends Histeria out, and Octagoncito follows with a tope rope tornillo, getting no spring on the springboard and just falling down while spinning. Still was a nice spin! Back to Charly and Abismo. Tirantes and Sagrada are discussing something. Abismo cuts down Manson with a thrust kick, then slaps him in the face as he gets up. Abismo clears off the apron, but pulls Sagrada back in by his mask to pinwheel him around. Vipers taking over the match, but in no particular hurry. Sagrada hung in the Tree of Woe, and dropped off. Psicosis beats up Charly on the outside, then throws him in for the rest of the team to hit. Arturo singing about the Vipers. Not much to Charly, and Sagrada takes the side backbreaker/flying legdrop combo. Psicosis adds a low blow headbutt. Octagoncito dropkicked as he comes in. Crowd shot – is this the one they'll be showing all night? It's two now – and the Viper are beating up on Charly instead. Abismo loads Charly in a powerbomb, and Histeria and Psicosis add a (bad) middle rope double clothesline to knock him over. Good idea, poor execution. Dorada brought in and slapped around. Whipped right into an Abismo thrust kick, too bad they were showing it from far away. They get a much better look at the same spot with Octagoncito. Mini Charly is loaded up for the spot, but turns the whip around and Psicosis gets kicked instead. Octagoncito gives Abismo a quebradora, Sagrada dropkicks Histeria, and Octagoncito moonsaults Abismo. Charly gives Psicosis a quebradora just so she can say he did something too. Charly and Abismo are left in, and Charly works over Abismo with chest slaps. Tirantes is upset about this for some reason, and Charly is distracted arguing with him. Abismo ducks a clothesline, Mini Charly escapes a back suplex, off the ropes, Abismo puts his head down too soon, Mini Charly kicks it. Corner whip, reverses, Charly kicks Abismo away. Charly out of the corner, right into a powerslam. Elbow drop too. Mini Charly stood up, chopped down. Camera picks up Psicosis grabbing a chair and setting it near a corner on the outside. Hmm. Mini Abismo misses a corner charge (though Charly doesn’t really move quick enough), and Charly gives him a running faceslam. Spinning DDT, and Abismo out. Charly teases the dive but doesn't go for it. Why, they're going to around all the way again? Sagrada gives Histeria a faceslam, but then they have issues on whatever's supposed to be next. It goes whip, reverse, reverse, reverse, Sagrada fireman's escape headscissors. A bit silly. Psicosis and Octagoncito don’t seem immediately on the same page, but Psicosis throws himself out just in time for Octagoncito to plancha both he and Histeria. Rudos catch Octagoncito, and ram him in the post. On the outside, Sagrado gets Mini Abismo over with a top rope headscissors, but Abismo catches Sagrada on the next pass and chucks him in an overhead belly to belly. Charly in, running over Abismo with a big boot. Northern Lights Suplex...one...two NO. What was that count? I can't tell if Tirantes is evil or bad. Charly stays focused and lifts Abismo up for a DDT, but Abismo reverses to a forward legsweep into a kneebar. Mini Charly crawls for the ropes – oh, Tirantes is 'accidentally' blocking his path to the ropes. Well, that was one whole show of non evil referees. I did enjoy it. They made it subtler here, at least. Mini Charly taps, and that's the match.
The rudos throw the chair in – got to get everything in, I guess Completely unnecessary chair shot to Mascara Sagrada's head. Shot to Charly’s leg, and thrown at Octagoncito as he comes in. Abismo DDTs Charly onto a chair, then Vieprs it Charly on a chair to dropkick. Chair really helps there. Wait – Tirantes just overturned the decision! I take back my thoughts on you. Rudos seem barely aware, continuing to beat up the tecnicos. I guess they have nothing to lose.
Vignette: The Legion forces someone to ring a door bell. They can't ring the door bell? Why is this being shot in amber colors? A separate camera inside the building shows Cibernético responding to the chime, and picking up the intercom. Konnan forces the woman (! - bonus points for sketchiness there) to tell Cibernético to ask to use the phone – her car is broken down or something. Cibernético okays it, then walks out to his garage to tell the man washing his car to let woman in. Not only does Cibernético have a man washing his car, but he seems to have magically picked up his small dog between scenes. Cibernético's butler (maybe? Go with it) opens the door and gets ambushed by the Legion. They beat up the random man in the garage, punching him out. Now that we can see them all, it looks like the Legion is Konnan, Alex, Nicho and Lider. They spread out to check the house – BAD MOVE. Camera follows Alex, then checks up on the other finding Cibernético around back. They attack in a line and get punched out as such, but Alex jumps out of a window and socks Cibernético with a plastic trash can. Nice! Break.
Backstage, Vipers scream say this is the year of the Mini Vipers. Maybe win a match?
In the ring, La Parka Jr. says hi to Puebla and introduces Lasser Boy. The mysterious Zumbi doesn't get an introduction, or even really his name mentioned. Lasser Boy has a conversation with the Penas before making it to the ring. Parka’s music plays, and they both dance. And so does Zumbi!, but no one pays attention to Zumbi. Atomic Boy has new gear, good for him.
Lasser Boy highlight package – about 15 seconds of clips solely with Gran Apache, getting the fall. So that was nothing.
Backstage, Electroshock contemplates and makes decisions. He's the Rey de Reyes, and this his time. Alright then.
Backstage, Zorro rants some more. 12 and 21 again. This would be interesting if Zorro angles went anywhere
Match 2: Amnesia, Black Abyss, Histeria, Psicosis vs Cuervo, Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz
Gimnasio Ignacio Manuel AltaMirano de la BUAP, Puebla, 02/05/2010
Winner: The Dark Family. Definitely the Dark Famiily
Match Time: 6:33
Rating: not good
Notes: Vipers 2.0 have new shirts indicating as such. Unfortunately, the black shirts say “The Machine War”, which Arturo enthusiastically yells out despite it being not quite right. Or maybe it is and this some Gundam thing or something? Escoria has the glove! You only need one! Vipers jump the Secta in the apron, clearly to prevent sudden death via glove.
Piero ref. Arturo sings a completely random song as the Black Family win the brawl. Lots and lots of punching that gives me time for twitter messages. Lots of slapping and individual moves, even when it's 4 on 1. Not the Black Family’s strong suit. Histeria’s mask gets ripped up pretty well. It's on, but it's not covering his face. Histeria slides out on a whip, and Black abyss gets Cuervo and Ozz with a top rope plancha. Meanwhile, Psicosis is taking a backdrop on the floor and only the people in front off them see it. Escoria brains Amnesia with a chair, and the Dark Family take back control in the ring. Two man powerbomb on Black Abyss, and the Dark Family actually covers – one two three!!
!!!!
The Dark Family walk off, completely and totally triumphant, and the Vipers are all laid out. I can't think of a match in AAA eve this one sided. Amnesia is out on the outside, while Black Abyss angrily pounds the mat on the outside.
Back at Cibernético's place, he's being choked with a chain. Actually, more hung, as they push him off a ledge for a moment before puling him back. Alex takes the dog, puts it in a cooler, closes the cooler, and tosses it over the barbed wire topped fence into the next yard. (The dog barks after impact! Also, there were plenty of cuts to Cibernético, so some trickery.) Impressed that the lid stayed on the whole time. Rudos free Cibernético form the chain so they can yell at him more. Konnan lays Cibernético down a conveniently empty hole, tells Nicho to fill it up with water, and dunks Cibernético's head in a few times more. Konnan yells at Cibernético in Spanish and English - “Next time, I won't be so fu[bleep]king nice!” Lots and lots of bleeps as they stomp Cibernético and leave him laying. Cibernético dramatically gasps for breath.
Match 3: Alan Stone, El Elegido, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Alex Koslov, Chessman, Zorro
Gimnasio Ignacio Manuel AltaMirano de la BUAP, Puebla, 02/05/2010
Winner: Legion
Match Time: 10:35 (5:30+5:05)
Rating: not great, but worked different enough to be interesting. They were actually trying to tell a story instead of just killing time until the finish.
Notes: No entrances. They're barely back from break before this one starts, Legion jumping the técnicos and going after Pimpi in particularly. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.
All three rudos – all wearing red and black, what a team! - work over Pimpi together while Elegido and Alan stand on the apron waiting for a tag. Alan at least argues with Tirantes about it. Everyone takes turns taking shots at Pimpi. Alan argues more, probably feeling a bit dumb in this situation. He comes in again after Pimpi rolls out, but Tirantes is so buy with Alan that he doesn't know Pimpi has left and blocks Alan again. Alex hits Alan as he comes in again, Tirantes turns around to see Pimpi is gone, and shrugs. Alan quickly worked over. Clip to Elegido taking corner charges. Pimpi charges in instead, but is caught and worked over more. Pimpi manages to sneak in a double rebound armdrag (tough to sneak that in) an slaps down Alex, but Chessman and Zorro rush him and knock Pimpi out of the ring. Elegido surprise Chessman with a headscissors, ducks Alex and Zorro’s clothesline, and gets them both with a double rebound armdrag. Alan teases a dive, stops to dance, and immediately gets slapped down by Chessman. Zorro rushes over to superkick Alan clear out of the ring. Elegido in and charging Alex. Alec flips him to apron, but Alex backdrops him away. Elegido lands on the apron, sends Alex head first into the buckle, blocks Chessman’s punch, and gets them both with a headscissors/armdrag double. Chessman and Alex's double clothesline misses, his double clothesline does not. Zorro in, sunset flip, Elegido rolls thru, stops behind, and kicks him in the back of the head. Chessman and Alex stop that with running shots. Chessman pulls at Elegido's mask, and Alex chokes Elegido with his own flag. Pimpi complains and tries to get involved, but Tirantes cuts him off. Same thing with Alan, but the crowd is 10x less into it compared to Pimpi. Chessman shuts up Alan with a slap. BREAK.
Return to see Elegido whipped into a Zorro cane shot. Pimpi is next, taking it right on the head. Quite loud. Chessman sits on the middle rope, while Alex brings Alan in. Alex whips him to Zorro, who tosses him to Chessman. Chessman just sits on the top rope, as Alan asks the fans if he should punch Chessman. You'd think Chessman would have a plan, but he doesn't seem to be in a hurry. Pimpi comes in and clears out Zorro with a clothesline. Alan gives Chessman a 'rana – I guess Chessman was distracted by Pimpi from doing whatever it was he wanted to do. Elegido pulls out Alex and works him over by the announce desk. Zorro stops this by tossing the cane into Alan's leg, and sending Pimpi spinning by his hair. Pimpi blocks a Zorro chop, gets a waistlock, walks the ropes, and jumps of into a plancha onto Chessman on the floor. Elegido slowly comes in, and then leaves to Let Alan in. Off. Zorro comes in, calmly steps back to pick up his cane, twirls it a bit, and cracks Alan in the head with it. Alan did nothing, very dumb of him. Elegido comes back in, and runs right into the cane flurry – at least until Zorro loses it while spinning. Crowd mocks him. Alan takes the cane away before Elegido can hit the last shot, and shows it to the crowd. Alan pulls it back, and Tirantes knocks it out of his hands. Harsh. Zorro – runs. Chessman in, head down too soon, and Alan kicks it. Off the ropes, clothesline is blocked, and Chessman superkicks Alan. Slaps, off the ropes, Chessman misses a dropkick and hangs himself in the ropes. Alan adds a guillotine legdrop and slide dropkicks Chessman out – except Chessman just stops on and stands on the apron. Alan manages to dropkick him to the floor anyway, and sets up for the dive – but Tirantes cuts him off for no reason. Alan shoves Tirantes out of the way, and climbs up the ropes – top rope plancha meets chair shot to the ribs. Alex and Elegido in, sunset flip trunks pull down, check. Not blurred, but shown from far away. Alex superkicks Elegido as he's puling his trunks back up, then hammers him with punches to the back on the outside. Chessman chokes out Alan with the chair on the outside to. Zorro miss a corner charge on Pimpi, Pimpi's flipped to the apron but fights Zorro off, missile dropkick over Zorro. Chessman in, clothesline misses, Pimpi dropkicks him too. Running back elbow for Alex. Pimpi clearly keeping it together for his team. Konnan in from who knows where – Pimp spots Konnan before he can attack, and Konnan begs off. Crowd really wants that kiss. Tirantes pulls Pimpi back, and Pimpi shoves him down. That busy Zorro enough time to cane Pimpi in the back, twice. Zorro grabs Pimpi's legs, crosses them, and puts on a – figure four camel clutch? Face pull camel clutch, which seems vaguely illegal. One arm drop? Two arm drop? Three arm – well, Tirantes shoves the arm down that time, but it counts. Odd to do an unconscious spot while the man's eyes are open, but OK.
Pimpi gets stomped own a little more. Elegido grabs a chair and runs off the rudos. Alan's a little bit behind him. Legion safely taunts Pimpi from the outside. Pimpi is assisted out.
Video package from Guerra de Titanes shows Latin Lover winning the Rey de Reyes title shot, and then lots of general Latin Lover highlights to Latin Lover's music. Including bleeps.
Backstage, Latin Lover and Mesías talk, as much as we can hear them over the horns. It seems to be along the lines of “let's have a great match at Rey de Reyes for the championship, but we're still going to be professional with each other up until then.”
Backstage (elsewhere, after a break), Pimpi is on a stretcher following the last match. Silver King storms over to throw a water bottle at him and yell at him to leave them alone. Audio here is bad, but Pimpi clearly is not giving up.
Match 4: El Mesías, La Parka Jr., Latin Lover vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Electroshock, Silver King
Gimnasio Ignacio Manuel AltaMirano de la BUAP, Puebla, 02/05/2010
Winner: WagnerManiacos
Match Time: 23:31 (6:27+8:13+8:51)
Rating: killing time until the finish!
Notes: No introductions, with Wagner punching Mesías out before he can get his belt off. Piero is ref.
WagnerManiacos beatdown, right thru the first break. Crowd does get really excited for the WagnerManiacos come back,w hen Latin Lover just stands up right before a triple dropkicks, knocking down Electroshock while the other two get pulled over. Mesías and Wagner climb up the light pole and punch each other for no particular reason. Tecnicos take over on showcases after that, stretching thru the second break.
After the other four wipe themselves out on the outside, Latin with a pescado on Silver King last, Parka and Electro are left in. Parka gets Electro a quebradora and chops him in his chest pad. Electro pulls Piero in the way of a charge by Electro, but Parka gets Electro with another quebradora. Parka charges Silver King, who sits Parka on the top rope. Parka shoves Silver King away from a superplex, but Electro knocks Parka right on the head with a chair shot. Mesías spears Silver King, then disappears off screen. Electroshock covers Parka, but Piero is out. Hijo de Tirantes crawls in, and counts a snappy one two three. Not super fast, but a little bit fast. Not that Parka was kicking out. Odd that there's 10 minutes left.
Tirantes checks on Piero and laughs about about Piero getting knocked out, then checks on him. Oh, right, Electro's got to talk. Electroshock yells at Mesías, who shoves him. Tirantes gets in between, as Electroshock yells at Latin too. Electroshock reminds us he won Reina de Reinas last year, and won a shot at the AAA Heavyweight championship, and wants it at Rey de Reyes. Latin doesn't like this idea. Electro says it's time he gets his opportunity. Last Rey de Reyes, he won that crown (sword), this Rey de Reyes, he wants to win the title. Electro demands Joaquin put him in the match. Joaquin – does not appear. Latin and Mesías look at each other as Electro walks off. Mesías says he's not losing his belt.
And another break? Explains why they have so much time left.
Video recap package to close the show. Hey, maybe they could've shown us three minutes of that match? No, more time to repeat Mesías' promo.
