AAA Mini Line - 05/09/09 (#883)
Recap: 05/15/09

Last Week: Nicho & Jack beat their tag team partners to move on, with the Hermandad team handling it better. To be fair to Jack & Teddy, I think we all would've been upset if Joe Lider won. Marco and Elegido won. Silver King beat La Parka inside, outside, and back inside. Parka was fine. Rudos won main event, much to the announcers genuine surprise. Marco did his move.

Tonight: Mesias & Wagner vs Nicho & Lider. Parka, Marco, Elegido vs Sliver King, Ozz, and Cuervo. Plus too more cruiserweight tournament matches and an opener they don't feel like explaining quite yet.

Back to the six sided ring. This an outdoor venue, getting dark even as the opener starts.

Match 1: La Diabolica, Cinthia Moreno, Billy Boy vs Aerostar, Mari Apache, Fabi Apache
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 6:25
Notes: This seems to be a trios match based on introductions, but it's done almost as a straight tag match between the women, with the men only coming in for one set of spots (as far as we can see – there is the obvious editing.) If they weren't in their gear, it'd seem like they were just seconds for this match.

The wave-y transition is back! By magic, the match goes from Fabi's showcase against Diabolica to start the match (ending with Diabolica hitting the post) to mid beatdown. That doesn't last long before a break.

Mari starts the comeback, lifting her sister to safety and kicking Cinthia on the charge. Fabi gets Diabolica with a plancha to take her out, and then Mari clothesline both rudas. Apaches take turns with stiff kicks to Cinthia's head. Apaches whip Cinthia. Fabi gets yanked out and kicked by Billy. Mari lifts up Cinthia in the Atlantida, but just like always, the victim slips out and inside cradles her. Cinthia knocks Mari out with a running knee, which seems a bit implausible. Cinthia follows with a silla from the apron, but Mari catches her and tosses her off into the crowd, which seems pretty impressive. Inside, Diabolica has Fabi down and is punching. She lets up to yell, probably not a good idea. Whip, sunset flip, Fabi rolls thru and kicks Diabolica in the head. Fabi covers, but Billy stops Piero and breaks up the pin with a kick. The lack of a DQ here is the one thing would seem to indicate the men are in the match. Aerostar protest, and then just springboard dropkicks him. Aero headscissors Billy out, and then rushes him with the no hands tope, Aerostar flying into the crowd on impact. Diabolica and Fabi back in, Diabolica getting two off a face first powerbomb. Diabolica tries for the double underhook, Fabi breaks out, Dragon suplex actually works, one two three. Nice of Diabolica to take that on her last night.

Tecnicos get their arms raised. Aerostar suddenly turns to Fabi and gives her a huge kiss. What the heck? Fabi apparently feels the same way, slapping him in the face and yelling at him. (Mari's just shocked by the whole thing.) Fabi's totally in the right here, though somehow Aerostar is confused by this reaction. Apaches storm off.

Vignette: Super Fly and Laredo Kid make fun of Aerostar's lack of game. As they should! The way Fabi and Aerostar are going, Super Fly may not be the biggest chump in the group much longer.

In Ring: Konnan is out to blab. Wagner's in the main event to force him to choose a side. Konnan says Jack will win the crusierweight tournament. No spoilers, dude! I guess he is a rudo. Konnan complains about Juvi taking his issues to the press – disputes in the locker room and in the ring should stay in the ring. Lord knows Konnan's never complained to the press about a company he's worked for. Anyway, Konnan's still interested in settling that one in the ring. Sure enough, Juvi's music plays (with dubbed in cheering?), but it's Joe Lider as Juvi and Jack Evans as Lizzy Valentine. Lider's doing a high pitched voice, and yells that he's not a girl. Jack's outfit is enough alone. This lasts about 60 seconds and they're gone. Konnan wraps up and we're done.

Noti AAA

Promo: Scoria! And all his chains in all his piercings. He's more interested in winning the title than any issue with Alan

Promo: Alan Stone – his opponents are good, but he's better.

Match 2: Scoria vs Alan Stone in a AAA Cruiserweight Tournament Quarterfinal Match
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: Alan Stone
Match Time: 2:51
Notes: No entrances. Piero is ref. Alan wants a handshake, Scoria hesitates, Alan gives up on it, and now Scoria's ready to shake. Eh. Are they both wearing red to make this feel like it fits the theme of partner versus partner? Okay, there's the shake. Lockup, break. Lockup, break. Lockup, Alan headlock. Backing up towards the ropes. CROWD SHOT.

Scoria in the corner, Alan misses a relaxed splash attempt, Scoria charges in and clotheslines him while going thru the ropes. Scoria knocks him down with a clothesline from the apron, and then leans backwards over the ropes, moonsault tornillo one two NO. Hard kick to the side. CROWD SHOT. Same one, off course.

Corner whip, quick reversed into a drop toe hold by Scoria. Elbow drop to Alan's back. Scoria off the ropes, and connecting on a loud running kick to Alan's head. Scoria catches his breath, and then covers. One two no. Other way, Scoria! This is why you never win. This must not be too much later, because they're showing a replay of the moonsault tornillo here. Or maybe they're hiding another clip with it, who can say. Loud chop battle from their knees. Scoria wins by enziguring Alan. Both men slow up, as if the match had been going for more than 2:30 we've seen. Escoria chops Alan. Corner whip, reverses, Alan charges in, Scoria get sup a foot, then very slowly climbs to the top rope. You want to stand there any longer? Alan's ready, for sure, and drops Escoria as he comes down. On top, one two three. Congrats, you won the match by getting only one move (and it wasn't even particularly sold like that sort of upset). This was dumb.

Promo: Crazy Boy – says Crazy Boy a lot

Promo: Extreme Tiger – APPEARS TO BE IN A TREE! It doesn't matter what he's saying, he's in a TREE.

Match 3: Extreme Tiger vs Crazy Boy
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: Extreme Tiger
Match Time: 9:02 (5:08+3:54)
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Copetes is ref. Early highlight is Arturo thinking Extreme Tiger should be called TJ Extreme again. Match goes 2:30 before the first big spot where I can't tell if it was botched or just clumsy. They pick up the pace from there! Randomly placed break in here.

So random, that they come back with break with a replay of a spot we saw before it. These two should really mesh better than they do here, given the amount of matches they've had against each other, but most of the stuff not involving one guy waiting there and the other guy hitting him comes off mistimed. It's not horrible, but Alan/Scoria would've had to be horrible to justify it being edited so much for this. Just as with Lider/Nicho, this is one guy doing a move, getting a pinfall, and the other guy shockingly reversing something to do their move next. Repeat till bored, and then keep on repeating a lot more. Crazy actually follows a move with a move, a DVD to give him time to get chairs. One chair shot for Tiger, who positions it as Crazy take his time going for the Crazysault. Tiger moves, Crazy hits chair on chair, kneels on all fours for a couple seconds, then rolls over onto his back. Totally natural. Tiger stacks both chairs on Crazy, goes up top, and does a 450 knee drop right to the chair. That chair saved Crazy Boy's life, or at least a lot of pain, as it would've hit directly on his sternum otherwise. One two three.

Tiger should be getting up to celebrate, but he totally killed his knee on that so you'll have to give him a moment.

Vignette: Teddy and Jack are all friends again. Teddy apologizes! Big of him. Let's all laugh about how we don't even know Laredo Kid's name. Apparently, Zorro's off seeing a psychologist, and there's some reference to a message one of them's seen and the other hasn't, but we sure haven't and they don't really explain it. Teddy and Jack still seem to believe there's a battle for control between Konnan and Zorro. I still don't know why. Teddy does ask Jack not to dance in front of him.

Match 4: Teddy Hart, Jack Evans, Electroshock © vs Ultimo Gladiador, Laredo Kid ©, Super Fly
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 12:25 (5:04+7:21)
Other Match Notes: Jack dances, but only when Teddy is out of the ring. Noted rudo Electroshock waves for the crowd to cheer for him as he enters. Hey, it's Tirantes!

Teddy and Jack immediately get into an argument about who gets to go first, and Electroshock has to calm the kids down. Laredo rallies the crowd, and gets attacked by Teddy. Showcase by the tecnicos to start with Jack and Teddy taking the moves and it being a bit fast paced. (So of course, they replay one of Teddy's moves.) Jack gets flipped on a Super Fly German suplex en route to clearing the ring. Electro finally comes in, and immediately kills all the little kids. Ah, US booking come to Mexico. Backdrop or Super Fly, side kick for Laredo, spinning backbreaker for Ultimo Gladiador. Air Force guys try to run, and Electroshock stops them with UG's double front slam. Rudos beatdown now. Doesn't last long,, though, with Jack accidentally spin kicking Teddy when Teddy was supposed to hold Laredo. Electro knocks Laredo down while his partners argue for a second time. Shoving now, and Electro has to intercede. Jack and Teddy settle down and reach to shake hands – which is a pretty weird time to do a clip.

Now, the tecnicos are all down form whatever big moves, but not down long enough for three counts. Electro's person punching dummy Super Fly comes in, and Electro gives him a big slam him before Teddy release suplexes his partner on top. UG breaks up that pin, but gets punched around and thrown out by Electro. SUDDEN BREAK. Who's editing this week? Can they never do it again?

Electro puts on a tapatía on Super Fly, and Jack adds a senton con giro, but Laredo breaks it up. Teddy gives him a cradle DDT. Electro holds him on the ropes so Jack can flip off Teddy's shoulder into a stomp that mostly connects with Laredo. Electro gives Laredo a Bronco Buster, which is the second one we've seen on this show; I guess X-Pac isn't on it? Jack and Teddy get into a shoving match over who get to stand on Laredo's chest to flip on him. Teddy agrees to let Jack go, then pulls Laredo out of the way before Jack lands. More shoving, then Jack breaks up Teddy's attempt at a powerbomb move. They shove each other while Electroshock messes with Laredo. Jack tries for the handshake again, but Teddy slaps it way and shoves Jack away with a slap. Jack kicks Teddy down, and UG shows up from nowhere to do his completely illegal cradle piledriver. Super Fly gets Jack with a back suplex into a face first powerbomb, and all the small guys dropkick Electro. Of course, that can't knock down a guy like Electro, but if they all dropkick him at the same time and pile on top, maybe. Tirantes slow counts this, one two Electro shoves them all off. Laredo manages to scissors Electroshock out. Meanwhile, Teddy and Jack are arguing again, but get it together to go back in and clean up the tecnicos. Teddy powerbomb backbreaker on UG, Jack thrust kick and standing moonsault on Super Fly. Tecnicos are cleared out, Jack starts running for a dive, but bumps into Teddy. More shoving, then Teddy whips Jack, misses a clothesline, and Jack does his tope con giro to the floor anyway. Teddy yells at Jack from inside, completely unaware of Super Fly in the ring behind him. Low superkick by Fly connects, and Super adds a kick to the back of head. His turn? Yep, handspring moonsault to the floor onto both. Teddy goes to the apron while the rest are fighting on the floor – Asai Moonsault, nearly racking himself on the ramp. Laredo in, but going to the ropes – and missile dropkicking Electroshock as he comes in. Laredo up again quick, another missile dropkick, and maybe that'll keep Electroshock down. Nope, so Electro goes again, flying 'rana is caught, and Electro powerbombs him hard. Electroshock says this is out, as the rudos seem to be in control on the outside. Corner whip, Electroshock charges in, splash mises, Laredo charges, flying up and caught on Electro's leg. Big spinebuster slam, that submission he won Rey de Reyes with, and that's the match.

Why are we having a cruiserweight tournament? Meanwhile, Teddy's getting carried ot the back, though he still has time to give the finger to a fan on the way out.

Promo: Marco Corleone – vowing to end the Legion

Recap: Silver King vs La Parka

Match 5: Cuervo, Ozz, Silver King © vs Elegido, Marco Corleone, La Parka Jr. ©
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 10:52
Other Match Notes: Elegido has a scary new alien mask and new music? I have no idea why, he ends up in the ring doing his normal act anyway. Staggered entrances. No Ozz hat. Parks messes with Elegido while advancing, instead of perhaps someone on the other team. Trademark sudden break, but before the match this time. Copetes is ref.

Silver King tries to jump Parka with a clothesline, mises, and rolls out of the slow speed chase. Clip, check. Everyone standing there staring at each other, check. Tecnico showcase, beatdown, comeback, usual. Dark Family just randomly start beating up the tecnicos to start beatdown, there's no actual spot that sets it up, and Silver King had actually just been crotched. Marco does his usual comeback to get it started. He also whips Ozz into a tornillo on Elegido, which looks good, then follows it with his own over the top rope plancha onto both Dark Family members. Parka throws Silver King into the crowd, and Elegido gets Ozz with a sit down powerbomb. Everyone notes they're not the captains, which is very strange of them. Cuervo immediately gets Elegido with crossface to tie it up. Parka and Silver King brawl in the aisle, and Corleone gets Cuervo with the top rope clothesline to get the win.

Parka and Silver King continue to brawl, no that their partners care. Neither do I! After some replays, Parka's in the ring dancing, so neither did he.

Vignette: Nicho's spray painting 187 onto something, but Joe Lider call shim over to discuss their match. Nicho's angry that his important spray painting was interrupted. Of course, Nicho is wearing his belt during this. Nicho's also angry that he has to keep taking Konnan's orders, but Lider points out they're actually getting paid.

Video Package: Dr. Wagner Jr. Yes, his one appearance. And some miscellaneous posing. Dueling catchphrases.

Match 6: Nicho & Joe Lider vs Mesias & Dr. Wagner Jr.
Explanada del Estadio Neza 86, Neza, 04/10/09

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 13:44 (11:00-2:44)
Other Match Notes: Wagner gets last entrance, which is a little bit surprising. They have his actual music, which is always nice. Tirantes is ref. Everyone has their belt.

Wagner and Mesias sort of face for for the bell. Wagner's too busy posing to actually do it, naturally, which also angers Mesias. Hermandad jump them. Wagner works with Nicho. A smart man. Mesias quickly makes a comeback, ducking a double clothesline to his one of his own. Rudos are incapable of getting an advantage on their own, but Tirantes provides opening with distractions. Mesias just kills both men at points. After both Wagner and Mesias have gotten everything in, Nicho brings in a chair and hits both of them to get the advantage. Lider and Wagner immediately walk to the light tower so Wagner can climb up, and Lider can put a testicular claw on him. Classic wrestling. I keep thinking they're something up a bigger spot there, but no, they just climb down and walk back to the ring, where Nicho gets in his move on Mesias, and Lider does the same with Wagner.

Mesias makes a comeback, this time fighting off a corner charge, about 30 seconds after the break. Tirantes slow counts him, and again the rudos take advantage momentarily, until, Nicho gets dumbed on his head trying a bodyscissors. Mesias goes up, Nicho crotches him, Mesias fights him off and tosses him off, then follows with a lame looking flying axhandle. Mesias catches Nicho on the run, and tosses him out. Lider dropkicks Mesias out, and Wagner gives Lider the Wagner Driver. One two three – fair count for Wagner.

Mesias is cut on the face and bleeding. Mesias and Wagner go back and forth for about five minutes. They turn off the lighting and just have one spot light on them as they go face to face for whatever reason. Dueling catchphrases and lots of blah blah blah about who's the best. They're still talking as the show actually ends on Galavision, but I have the over run. Which means I have to listen to more of this, how sad. They're just about ready to agree to fight for five minutes when Konnan shows up. He's not down with this people booking their own matches, since he's in charge – why does Dr. Wagner Jr. get a instead of one his own guys? So he'll have a match to decide it.

And that's it.
