AAA Mini Line - 04/04/09 (#880)
Recap: 04/07/09

Last Week: Vampiro is Roldan's rep, Billy causes more pain for the Apaches, Hermandad/Silver King won, Vampiro resigned as commissioner

Preview of this week features yet another replay of Chessman going thru the table – they're close to repeating that bump more than the all the other ones combined.

Video Package: Rey de Reyes – Psycho Clown is included in here, in a random montage of wrestlers (was Brazo in it?) I can't remember.

Backstage: the excitement of Vampiro on the phone with Roldan. Roldan isn't here, that's the idea. Suddenly, Vampiro is surrounded by multiple SUVs (and the same amount of cameramen.) Nicho, Joe Lider, Teddy Hart, Konnan and I guess that's Jack running his own camera, like there aren't enough already. Oh, hey, Electroshock. Of course, Konnan has to yell at Vampiro instead of just beating him, which gives Vampiro an opening to get in the first show. Vamp gets held against the wall and his face gets messed up with. Where did Zorro come from? Not the easiest time in spotting everyone here. As far as beatings, I've we've seen worse, though Vamp is dead even before the big cane shot by Konnan. Taunting him on the 'Where are the Guardian Angels now?” line seems fun. That's the whole segment!

Hey, another replay of the dive. (They show it all show.)

Backstage promo: Billy Boy, wanting to finish himself off the Apaches, for good. They're signed for Rey de Reyes, though it's not exactly clear in what match.

Match 1: Cinthia Moreno ©, Oriental, Billy Boy vs Gato Eveready, Gran Apache ©, Fabi Apache
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 03/04/09

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 9:47 (1:39+6:19+1:49)
Notes: Even sides! No offense to Mari. Apache are ready for Billy Boy, and this time he's actually coming thru the entrance. Pepe Casas is ref. Billy's all about faking high fives to fans today. Clip? Oriental runs interference so Billy can get close to the ring.

Tecnicos come out strong, Fabi quickly making work of Cinthia and getting her with a silla, Gato Eveready spending a bit more time with Oriental and ending up being flipped into into a tope con giro. Gran Apache goes on a slap fest when he finally corners Billy. As usual, he gets his teammates in his flurry, and that starts the rudos in control. Billy takes Gran Apache outside and sets him in a chair for a dive as the Morenos work over Gato, but that leaves Fabi to kick Billy Boy as he goes thru the ropes, and cradle him for two. Oriental breaks that up. Gran Apache accidentally kicks his daughter, but slaps Cinthia and armdrags Billy into position for a Fabi Apache dropkick, which sets up a Gran Apache plancha to the outside. Gran Apache starts to pose, then realizes he hates Billy Boy and hits him in a chair instead. Crowd chants for another, but someone (when we're looking elsewhere) Billy trips Gran Apache's leg in one char and smashes another chair into it repeatedly. Rudos back in control in the ring in the meantime. Oriental gives Gato a funky powerbomb, and not in a good way. Cinthia slam, double stomp for Fabi. Gran Apache's still down and hurting on the outside, and gets stretched out while the Morenos continue to control the ring. Gato ends up taking a Moreno double stomp too. Billy messes with Fabi a lot. Hey, Joaquin Roldan IS here. It's almost like that earlier angle makes no sense. Sudden break here.

Fabi immediately starts a comeback off a corner whip as they return, but she's one and the rudos are three. Gato returns form where he did to mix it up with Billy after everyone else is knocked out, but Billy spins him out of the ring with a dropkick, and this time nails his tope. Oriental throws Fabi around by her hair, sandwiches her with a corner clothesline, and adds the climbing moonsaults. He takes forever doing the headstand one, so it's not a big surprise Fabi gets her knees up. Fabi grabs Oriental for the double underhook, but Cinthia breaks that up. Cinthia grab Fabi, Oriental kicks, Fabi moves, and Cinthia goes down. Oriental's confused, inside cradle, one two THREE. That's a bit out of nowhere. She has to get confirmation that's three. After that, she goes after Billy again, but Cinthia grabs her by the hair again – and gets superkicked by accident Billy. Hey, maybe you want to hold on better, Cinthia? Billy does something to Fabi which is clipped out, and I guess Aerostar isn't around for the save this week.

Backstage: Gran Apache's ankle gets taped, and eeryone's very concerned and angry

Noti AAA
- AAA at Circus Circus
- that's pretty much it

Backstage: Konnan has a briefcase full of money for La Hermanad! Konnan shuts the case so they can't get it quite yet (Lider gets his hand caught and yelps, ha!) Nicho and Lider get brought down from their happiness a bit – Konnan's happy with the job they did on Vampiro, but business is business – first they face the Mexican Powers in a match where the MPs get a title shot if they win, then they get paid. Lider and Nicho go along with this because they see the money – hope it's still there when they get back.

Match 2: Nicho el Millionario, Joe Lider vs Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 03/04/09

Winner: HX
Match Time: 8:55 (5:40+3:15)
Notes: I like how this crew is still doing crotch chops with D-Mex doing the same as a tecnico. Hey, Tirantes!

Nicho just about murders Crazy Boy with a spinning DDT about a minute in, so fun times here. Chaotic back and forth between the teams to start. Highlight might have been Crazy Boy doing an Asai Moonsault onto the rudos, but someone managing to dive right in between them. This week's big idea is, in the usual moves moves moves zeal, getting Lider and Nicho to accidentally hit each other with moves. It's mostly the usual. Lider and Crazy do a back heel trip, which takes 10 seconds to set up and is impossible to tell who got the better of it. Nicho takes UG to the floor with a headscissors, and bangs his knee on the apron. Crowd is into it, or at least into cheering for the tecnicos. There's a four man sunset flip powerbomb mess before the break – of course there is.

No one really ever seems to get control, it's a lot of taking turns doing moves. Nicho gets Gladiador into an anklelock, and they pretend they're Kurt Angle and the Rock, I guess, because no one here has ever sold an anklelock that way. UG gets the ropes and Tirantes just kicks him off. UG screaming in pain for thirty seconds doesn't seem to too big of a deal if a) he never submits, b) within five seconds of being let go, he does an Asai tornillo to the floor. Joaquin Roldan is not any more entrained than I, and I wonder why they keep using him to hide clips – like Crazy Boy botching something here, and then getting slow count. Crazy Boy goes for another big move (Oklahoma stampede DVD?), and of course gets slow counted again. Crazy Boy calls for the finish, which I have for a while. Lider reverses something and gets in the Fuerza punt. Tirantes will allow it. One two three.

Video Package: they're going to keep showing this Rey de Reyes package every few breaks, huh?

Promo: X-Pac & Alex explain Rocky's in Japan, where' he's a big star. Huh. Alex cuts a promo in Spanish, and X-Pac clearly has no idea what's being said. X-Pac also is from this parallel world where there's a powers struggle between Zorro & X-Pac. Hart Foundation is dumb, check.

Match 3: Jack Evans & Teddy Hart vs X-Pac & Alex Koslov
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 03/04/09

Winner: HF2
Match Time: 12:08 (5:32+6:36)
Other Match Notes: Jack better dance for Arturo, or ELSE. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.

Teddy & Alex start with chain wrestling. I'm very confused about which promotion I'm watching, but this is mostly the usual indy respect chain wrestling so I'm not that thrown off. Why do they keep going back to Roldan right when people are doing moves? Jack and X-Pac are rolling, then suddenly the rudos are in control of the ring (and working a chinlock on X-Pac, for whatever reason.) X-Pac makes a quick comeback with a double clothesline, and corals to Alex for the hot tag. I don't under stand it, but Alex is a house on fire until Jack comes out of nowhere with a spinning heel kick. Another clip to Alex evading a corner handspring and coming back with a springboard plancha. Jack chases, miss a clothesline, and falls down at the stops in. That that moment, I want them to have five hundred more matches just to do that spot over and over again. Alex crotch chops, Jack responds with a wild spinning kick, Alex ducks, but chases right into another kick. Jack slips to the apron, tries to catapult back in, and gets cut off with a jumping enziguri. Alex leaps to the top rope, and lands the springboard forearm being a little shakey. Teddy and X-Pac in, X-Pac cutting off Teddy with the standing pin kick, but quickly distracted by Nikki. Teddy clotheslines X-Pac him out, slides thru the ropes to dropkick Alex, and tope rope moonsault onto both of them. Replays, and then Jack wiping out Alex with his handspring twisting moonsault to the floor. Bodies all over the floor. Break.

Rudos bring Alex back in the ring to take control. Jack works in some kicks. Same Roldan shot again. X-Pac is kept out while the rudos work a bit slower on Alex. Suplex by Teddy, Jack adds the twisting spinning standing moonsault and covers one two NO. Jack spinning chest kick, Teddy teasing the standing moonsault, stopping, then doing it anyway and eating knees Jack manages to knock Alex back down with a jumping knee anyway, then drags him over for Teddy to go all the way up. Teddy shooting star press, one two big kickout. Teddy complain about the count, but there as nothing really to complain about there. Crowd chants for Mexico, and Russian Alex tries to fire back up, but Teddy grains him with his boot. Alex set up in the ropes for Jack's moonsault stomp off Teddy's shoulders, which is more complicated then it actually looks effective. Backcracker powerbomb for Alex. X-Pac gets in, just to get thrown out. This bit has gone on too long, but it's about over – Teddy holds Alex, Jack got for a springboard double knee, and Alex moves. Teddy's down, and Jack's almost beheaded after a huge Koslov superkick. Alex makes the hot tag to X-Pac (crowd doesn't react), Teddy misses a clothesline and takes the spin kick. Jack in, whip, reversed, and standing spin kick from too. Corner punches on Tedd, and then jumping of with a plancha onto Jack. Teddy breaks that up and pounds X_Pac in the back, but X-Pac backdrops him over the top rope to the floor. Jack charges, and he's thrown out too. X-Pac running – tope con giro onto (thru) both guys. Alex coming? No, X-Pac collects Teddy and throws him in. X-Pac going up top, but Nikki's got him by the both. X-Pac gets free, so Nikki crotches him. X-Pac's more interested in setting his feet up than actually selling that, but whichever. Teddy climbs up, but X-Pac fight him off and gets him with a middle rope X-Factor. Nikki in again – this time we get a frontal shot, I guess to reveal the bra she's wearing isn't much more reveal than the top she's wearing. X-Pac's distracted by the silliness of the spot, and then pushes her in the path of a charging Jack. Jack is stunned, cradles, one two NO. Well, they must have some finish not to just use that. X-Pac sets up Jack in for the Bronco Buster, Nikki tries to cut him off with a slap, Alex cuts her off, so Nikki slaps him instead. Of course, Alex just gives her a big kiss jumping kick to the head and drags her in Bronco Buster position. X-Pac does it, and it doesn't get clipped out this week. Meanwhile, Teddy gives Alex the backcracker and pulls his tights for the pin.

Backstage Promo: Electroshock and Silver King discuss evil laughs, though Electroshock is more interested in Silver King's money making plan. Silver King totally just makes things up here. They decide one which has Charly and La Parka, and I bet you can figure it out.

Backstage Promo: Charly tries to get Parka out of his mood – they need to work together with no Cibernético around and Chessman turning on them. Parka's not alone, he's got Charly. Parka: “Si” - one word, and he walks off.

Backstage Promo: Zorro, talking about Charly Manson and seeming more crazy than usual.

No Abismo Negro promo? He's not mentioned by anyone either.

Match 4: Electroshock, Silver King, Zorro © vs La Parka Jr., Charly Manson, Abismo Negro ©
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 03/04/09

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 8:22 (4:17+4:05)
Other Match Notes: Pepe Casas is ref.

Lots of stalling to start, Abismo and Silver King do a perfunctory open exchange, and the beatdown starts after Parka gets tagged in. Beatdown seems to be clipped to start – Parka's mask gets torn and he starts bleeding awful quick – and there may be more edits in here. It's the usual bit. Sudden jump to break here again.

Crowd is behind Parka, thought this beatdown goes on for a while. After being beat for fives minutes, Parka just randomly kicks Silver King when he has his head down too soon, but the rudos get back on him and work his cut more. Charly makes his own comeback out of nowhere, the rudos just letting him run in, block their punches, and throws bad punches back. He does not look much good this week. Charly almost gets the inverted figure four on Electro, but Zorro breaks it up. Abismo lights up Zorro with kicks, but Zorro catches him in a spinebuster and puts on the STF for a clean win.

Rudos cane Charly after the match. Parka makes the save, even though it's clearly supposed to set up X-Pac and Alex Koslov running in for that. They get there too late, but X-Pac still gets to punch Zorro a million times.

Video Package: Mesias vs Chessman

Match 5: Chessman & Konnan vs Mesias
Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi, 03/04/09

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 6:16
Other Match Notes: Five different kids make it all the way up to Mesias while he goes on the stage. Security is semi successful getting the next four, but not really. Hijo de Tirantes is ref. We can't gt this match with a Mesias promo (it won't be easy to beat him at Rey de Reyes, because it'll be in a cage match, and he wins those – Chessman is amusing making fun of Mesias here.) Chessman gets out a laugh, and they cut to break.

After the break, Chessman gets to say no more before Konnan's music plays. Hijo de Tirantes salutes him! With no Vampiro around, Konnan's free to run things as he sees fit, and he sees this as a handicap match. I guess teaming with Konnan is a handicap for Chessman.

This finally gets Joaquin Roldan to actually react at ringside. This gets my remote to react, or maybe it's jut me who press fast forward. Konnan's offense looks better than some weeks, but he's not going to take any bumps here – he even sidesteps out of the way of Mesias comeback double clothesline so he doesn't have to fall down (and the rudo quickly get control back. Highlight of the match is Konnan doing a corner kip out and roll, just to show how bad that can look, I guess. Not exactly fooling anyone into believing he's agile, so I don't know why else you'd do that. Mesias finally clotheslines him down after, but Chessman rallies so the beatdown can take over a third time. Mesias gets another short comeback, but Arturo Rivera standing on the apron distracts him this time. Chessman lays a chair on Mesias and add a top rope legdrop, then calls in Arturo to help pin. Arturo has no idea, and kicks at Mesias as Chessman is covering him. Whatever, it's over.

Roldan jumps the rail, yet again, and gets in the ring to shove Konnan. Arturo shoves him, so they have a shoving match. Roldan apparently punches Arturo, and they pick the farthest away camera they can find to show it. At least they show it this week. Konnan promptly smashes Roldan's head with a chair, limiting the impact (or making the impact on someone else.) Konnan and Arturo work over Roldan, but Mesias throw Chessman in the crowd, and very slowly gets in the ring to break it up. Teddy Hart and Jack Evans do what they always do in this situation, run in and get beat by the first move. Jack gets pressed out onto Teddy. Nicho in, Nicho takes the STO. Joe Lider takes a backdrop and a clothesline out. His belt stayed on, at least there's that. Where's Zorro? Roldan is being stretched out, which we see instead of Mesias punching Konnan. They catch up to it with Mesias having a hold of Arturo, and Hijo de Tirantes unsure if he's supposed to break it up. Mesias tells him to get lost, so I guess not. Finally, Chessman spears Mesias, and everyone comes back to stomp him. Konnan promo, blah blah.

That's it.
