AAA Mini Line - 09/13/08 (#850)
Recap: 09/27/08

Last Week: Mini Kenzo advanced, Aerostar won Alas de Oro - they slow down the kickout, and show a Jack going cray promo about it (he'll sue if he doesn't get a rematch), Cibernetico and Chessman are friends again for a week.

Promo: Alas de Oro

and the match, again. No break this time until after the match. (10:09)

Promo: Jack Evans losing his mind about that finish. He'll sue if he doesn't get his rematch.

Promo: La Hermandad. Yes, another vignette with Nicho and Lider talking, and X-Fly being next to invisible. If we have a problem, we can call 01-800-187 and get La Hermandadto solve it for us. Maybe X-Fly is out saving problems.

Promo: Gato Eveready needs OUR help to cheer up Super Porky. Send well wishes to porkysisepuedo@luchalibreaaa.com

Match 1: Ángel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Cóndor (c) vs Argenis, Billy Boy (c), Gato Eveready
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 8:05
Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. No entrances. They could really use a graphic to reminds us which Diabolico is which, but no. Diabolicos are wearing masks for no reason, which takes away the usual method of telling them apart by facepaint. Announcers spend half the match trying to figure out the correct pronunciation of Argenis, who's only been wrestling matches ALL YEAR, so they're not so helpful. I think I'm much helped by tuning out 90% of the announcers, because there'd be long diatribes on a weekly basis.

Match is exactly to form - showcases, beatdown, comeback, finish. Gato does an Asai corkscrew moonsault, Argenis has a normal plancha the announcer think is spectacular. Billy kicks Mr. Condor in the ribs and they tease a foul, then Billy gets the win easily with a powerbomb.

Noti AAA
- recap of last week's HB being on the same page. You know, we don't even get a hint at what Charly's leg looks like.
- recap of the finish of Alas de Oro,. Apparently, Konna, Teddy and Jack beat up Aerostar after the match. Jack demands a rematch so everyone knows who the real champion. Teddy scoops uip Aerostar to slam him thru a table, but "Aerostar's feet knock out the light" (uh huh) and so we only hear the devastation. And jack getting in his catchphrase.
- who was the mysterious man in black? They do point out that it has to be a person who was booked for the show, since Roldan insists no one else is allowed to show up (or Roldan is breaking his own rules.)
- keys keys keys

Video package: minis tournament recap - Octagon over Mini Chessman, Mini Kenzo over Mascarita Divina, Mascarita Sagrada over Mini Hiseria, Mini Charly Manson over Jerrito Estrada, Atomic Boy over Mascarita de la Muerte, and Mini Abismo Negro over Parkita. Wow, they even give the semifinal matchups - Octagoncito/Kenzo, Sagrada/Charly, Atomic/Abismo

Match 2: Mini Kenzo Suzuki vs Octagoncito in AAA Minis Tournament
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Octagoncito
Match Time: 4:08
Notes: No entrances. Major Kenzo Suzuki is out there, but it doesn't look like Octagon is. Pepe Casas is ref.

Clipped right of the bat. Mini Kenzo does do the wacky knee drop, the one spot he must do. Major Kenzo comes in to break up a pin after an Octagoncito missile dropkick, but accidentally gets him when Octagoncito moves. Crowd shots, and Major Kenzo is gone by the time they come back. Octagoncito destroyed Mini Kenzo and covers again after a pin, but Big Kenzo breaks up the pin. Pepe Casas argues with him, but does not DQ. Octagoncito gets himself distracted with Big Kenzo long enough for Mini Kenzo to get in a cheap elbow for the advantage. Octagoncito quickly reverses a middle rope 'rana into a powerbomb, adds a rope flip moonsault and a Indian deathlock pin for the win.

Vignette: Konnan meets with Lider & Nicho. Konnan butters them up, but Nicho says they work for cash, not compliments. Konnan says he'll take care of it.

Vignette: Mexican Powers have fall colors n August. What a fashion faux pos! Lots of talking about Nicho and Lider. Ricky Marvin wanders upon them - I guess he just got here, and is happy to see them. They treat him like he's a member of the MPs, so there we go.

Match 3: Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario vs Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 5:40
Other Match Notes: Entrances, and tons of confetti for the MPs. Referee is the extra ref whi's name I still don't know.

Clipped up, with all the turning points taken out, a dumb thing to do. This is the usual match in this pseudo-division. Chair and infinite variations on a backcrackers. Anonymous referee decides he's a rudo and decide not to count a pin, which they cut away from too late. Ultimo Gladiador is still using that piledriver, so everyone must've decided it was cool. Crazy Boy takes out Lider with a moonsault side slam off the apron and to the floor, but Nicho gets UG with a top rope headscissors cradle for the pin. Short, which was nice, though it clearly was much longer live. Ricky Marvin runs out post match, but doesn't really save the MPs since they're not attacked yet. Crazy and Marvin do stop the rudos from putting a 187 sheet on UG, but then 3 guys beat up the two guys easily. Rudos try to spray paint the tecnicos, but it doesn't work with their dark shirts. Still, the two tecnicos had no problem beating up three tecnicos.

Vignette: Chessman/Cibernetico issues. It's one of those ones where they show a billion things and there's no real narrative.

Match 4: Jack Evans & Teddy Hart vs Chessman & Ricky Marvin
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Tecnicos by DQ
Match Time: 9:17
Other Match Notes: Marvin enters to the MPs music, so there you go. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.

This is a match where the dive train starts 0:30, so you know what you're getting. It would be hilarious if they all just got counted out, but they apparently break the count in between gathering furniture. Chessman sets up one of those random wood panels leaning onto the barricade, then goes to the apron to leap in the ring on Teddy Hart. Jack trips him off the apron, and Nicole beats up the #1 contender! Slaps to the face, kicks to the midsection, Chessman selling it all and taking a bump for a kick. Ricky walks the ropes for an armdrag, Teddy rolls out, Ricky just stares at  him, and then waves at him to come back in. Very slowly, Teddy does. Teddy ends up getting in his double underhook Canadian Destroyer, so that's a win for him. Meanwhile, Jack does a corkscrew moonsault off the apron onto Chessman - the camera almost misses it (you only see it in the corner of the screen), but it looks like Jack did too. Jack holds Chessman, and Teddy gets in his top rope Asia Moonsault to the floor. Chessman and Jack come back in so Jack can get more offense in. Ricky makes  quick forearm based really, but Teddy works him over, slams him and spots Jack for his twisting moonsault splash. Only a two count, and the HF2 are continuously unhappy with the speed of the counts. Backbreaker/shooting star press combo on Chessman, silencing the chant for him. One two no. I'm waiting for them to bring in a "unbiased American referee." Powerbomb backcracker for Chessman. One two Ricky breaks it up this time. CLIP. Teddy lifts Chessman up to his shoulders, Jack sets up for a springboard, Ricky cuts him off in mid springboard with a 'rana of his own, and Chessman fights free with punches and a DDT. Tecnicos put their head down too soon on a double backdrop and Jack kicks them around a lot but ends up on the apron. Chessman spears him off the apron, into the wood panel! Didn't hit the just right, but looked amazing. . Back inside, Ricky's powerbomb is escaped, Teddy gets a bearhug, Ricky tries to fight it, and Teddy turns it into a cradle DDT. Terry poses for a pin one two NO. Probably should've gone right to the finish there. Crowd shot. Teddy climbs the ropes, then gets crotched - and Hijo de Tirantes did it? He's leaning on the ropes, but doesn't look like he intended for that, maybe Ricky shoved him into them and they just did a horrible job of showing it. Announcers think Tirantes did it, for what its' worth. Marvin plucks Teddy off the top rope with a moonsault side slam. As he covers, La Hermandad music starts to play. Tirantes counts one, Tirantes hesitates, shoots a glance to the entrance, reluctantly counts two, and they switch to a shot of the (darkened) entranceway to see Nicho FINALLY running out. This also hides Tirantes deciding to just stop counting and wait for the run-in. Lider is trailing behind him. They get to the ring, attack Marvin a little bit, Ricky rolls out, Tirantes raises his hand for the win.  Crowd approves anyway. Chessman doesn't want his arm raised. Lider rolls out of the ring and attacks Marvin move. Nicho goes after Chessman, but Chessman waves him off, backs off, and declares he doesn't want any part of his fight. People looking for a fight: Hart Foundation II, who are upset about losing by DQ. Lider trying to put a move on Nicole probably doesn't help. For some reason, Teddy blames NICOLE for this and threatens to punch her. TWICE. Teddy believes the guys who just ran in and cost him the match over his girlfriend, and Nicole has to get on her knees and beg for Teddy to forgive him. What a weird creepy promotion.  The Mexican Powers music is playing in the background, but they never make the run-in I'm expecting here.

Backstage: Chessman is just coming thru the curtain from the last match - apparently, he got his shoulder bandage changed somewhere around the entrance set! Anyway, Chessman is hurting physically and emotionally - when he was getting jumped, where was Cibernetico? Where was Charly Manson? Chessman's pretty much full of crap on that one, since it was Ricky getting jumped, and where was Chessman for that? As if to give Chessman a better thing to complain about, Mesias and the Sect attack him and stomp him to death. Where's Cibernetico now? Mesias gives him a chair shot for good measure. And rants a lot of course.

Vignette: Alan Stone and Elegido hang out in the bathroom. Hey, I'm just writing what's on screen, you're own your own for the subtexts. That they discuss their dancing skills and muscles is vastly coincidental.

Vignette: Silver King needs his own video package/promo so they can find some highlights of his stint her so far. Not wins shown, of course.

Match 5: Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz vs Alan Stone, El Elegido, Silver King
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 9:59
Other Match Notes: HAT. Someone's surely told the Sect that they all need to have different looks, because they have difference entrance gear - then disrobe to reveal the same ring gear (and this has been going on for a while, I know.) Your ref is Pepe Casas.

Rudos jump the tecnicos, but the tecnicos rally back quick. Elegido's dive or fake dive must've gone exceedingly bad at the end of showcase, because they cut out just as he's heading to it, and pick up in the middle of Silver King's run. Everyone gets in their dives, Elegido get his trunks pulled, Elegido shows off a slow Atlántida into a Diamond Cutter move for a two count. Ozz rallies back gets, a near fall on a jumping knee, but misses on a moonsault. Elegido, apparently deaf, climbs up to the ropes even as Mesias's music is playing. It's the side facing the entrance, so Elegido just stares and yells as Mesias walks slowly to the ring. Ozz plucks Elegido off and powerbombs him for the win. Tecnicos dominated 90% of that match.

Alan shoves Mesias after the match, which just gets Alan and Silver King beat. Silver King wanders over to the announcers to cut a promo, but I'm fast forwarding.

Vignette: Breathless, Parka tells Gronda about the outcome of the last match. Hey, maybe you could've helped instead of just watching! Cibernetico sneaks up on them and says it'll be different for them against the Legion.

Match 6: Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro vs Cibernetico, Gronda II, La Parka Jr.
Sala de Armas del Magdalena Mixhuca, DF, 08/15/08

Winner: Tecnicos by DQ
Match Time: 11:30
Other Match Notes: La Parka has a giant partially inflatable La Parka trailing him and dancing, which is more bizarre than usual. Tirantes Sr. is your ref - I did not recognize him because he's colored his hair, and his suspenders are invisible.

Rudos jump the tecnicos, naturally. Zorro chokes Cibernetico to almost death, but lets go too soon. He's also got no problem using his cane. Lot o' brawling. Crowd clip before Cibernetico reveres a corner whip for the comeback about 4 in. Parka tosses Electro over the barricade into a ton of abandoned seats. Parks' offense seems clipped up. Zorro accidentally canes his parnter, Cibernetico gives him a Stunner, and the tecnicos are all over the rudos. Jack, Teddy, and Konnan - hey, didn't they make a big deal of no one not booked is allowed to the show LAST WEEK?!? -  run in for the DQ.

Silver King, Alan Stone, and Elegido run in to even the numbers. One crowd shot later, the rudos are gone, and Prez. Roldan is in the ring. Roldan does question what Konnan is doing there, on a show he wasn't booked for. I'd also question why he's wearing a Jermaine O'Neal Indian Pacers All Star jersey. I think Konnan gets fined. Konnan definitely complains about. Cibernetico says 2008 is the year of the new AAA era. Konnan says Zorro's getting the belt.

And replays and we're done.
