AAA Mini Line - 08/09/08 (#845)
Recapped: 08/10/08
Another four sided ring, for another building where a six sided ring wouldn't fit well. Way to shoot Dr. Alfonso Morales so we're looking right into a blinking light. They show all sorts of fans shots early, and I can only presume they're doing it so we can spot the clips easier later on.
Last week: Hermanad beats MPs, Brazo beats Porky, Cibernetico & Elegido beat the Legion, "Chessman Vencedor" - wait, Chessman won the cage match by being the third out? Is that was supposed to happen there? On the upside, they're so pleased with Parka's legdrop on Konnan, they show it in slow motion. There's few moves of Parka's lately that you'd want that.
For how many years will Intocable still be in the open? Maybe they just figure (rightly) he'll back at some point.
Promo: Los (Junior) Pirates, who do the usual Pirata Morgan anti-ballerina speech. Junior mocks Billy Boy's girl problems, and they collectively call out Elegidio, Alan Stone, and Billy Boy. I'd like to see the alternate world AAA where this program is actually happening.
Match 1: Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
(c) vs Argenis, Billy Boy (c), Gato Eveready
Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas, Salamanca, 07/13/08
Winner: Rudos (by DQ)
Match Time: 10:11
Notes: Everyone gets entrances, because this is a five match show. Billy
gets huge cheers from the girls just when he music starts to play. Piero is ref.
Gato and his Gato masked valet dance in the ring, which is just the kind of
thing the Pirates were speaking out against.
Junior and Billy start on the mat, then Gato and Barba Roja are a bit more fast paced. Barba Roja gets a submission, Argenis breaks it up, Argenis gets a submission, Hijo breaks it up, and it starts a beatdown. Gato dramatically crashes and burns on a plancha. Pirates have a lot of combo moves some of which don't get clipped out. The suplex/sliding dropkick spot is kinda cool. Tecnicos start the comeback when Argenis is locked in a posing submission - Billy boosts Gato into a dropkick to break up the pile, then those two dropkick the remaining pirates out. Hijo runs back in and takes a double flapjack and an Argenis plancha. You're a Mistico clone and your top rope move is a plancha? I'm now convinced more than ever that he's actually a La Mascara parody. Everyone settles to their corners so the tecnicos can get in their showcases. Mascara does CMLL default tecnico offense. Billy is last and treated like the biggest star in this match, but not like he's too big for this match. He runs thru all the rudos rather quick, gets cornered for a moment, takes a corner whip, but is backdropped to safety by Gato. Gato sends Hijo out with a bodyscissors armdrags and drops him with a tornillo! Argenis gives Barba Roja an Asai Moonsault and is actually not bad. Billy and Jr. are left in, Billy gets powerbomb for two, a fireman's carry drop for two - wait, that was a bit weak. Jr. trips up Billy and tries to punch him. Billy ducks, and Jr. pulls up short of hitting Piero. Billy dropkicks, Junior moves, and Piero takes it. Yes, a ref bump in the Argenis match. AAA, everyone! Junior fouls Billy and fakes his own foul, The other four all hit the ring to try and convince Piero, but of course Piero's awarding the fall to Pirata Junior. As usual, it sucks to be Billy Boy.
Vignette: Mari & Fabi talk. Mari's hair is growing back, and Fabi is still not happy with Billy, though she won't talk about it much to either Mari or Gran Apache - she rather focus on the Morenos.
Vignette: Speaking of, Cinthia and Ayako are arguing and Oriental is trying to play peacemaker. He points out they can all agree that they're sick of the Apache soap opera, and Cinthia should still want to get revenge on Mari for putting her out for six months eahd of everything else. Ayako reluctantly agrees to get along with the Morenos, even as she makes it clear she's totally better than them.
Match 2: Ayako Hamada, Cinthia Moreno, Oriental (c)
vs Fabi Apache, Gran Apache (c), Mari Apache
Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas, Salamanca, 07/13/08
Winner: Morenos
Match Time: 7:14
Notes: All the Apaches have their belts. Mari and Gran Apache are still
covering their blad heads. Hijo de Tirantes is your ref. Neither side is really
specified as rudos or tecnicos.
Crowd loud chanting Abuelo at Gran Apache to start the match. Are they supposed to still do this? This story has become confusing about who I'm supposed to cheer for.. Cinthia and Mari face off to start, and Cinthia really was put of action for six months by Mari, so shouldn't she be the tecnica? She wrestles like it, running thru both Apache sisters and getting Fabi with an apron tope con giro. Meanwhile, Ayako comes in and starts working like the ruda in the match, but then yanks off Mari' bandana and works as a tecnico from there. Mari gets the heat with Fabi getting a cheap shot from the outside - wait, are the Apaches rudos? Ayako finishes her run with a enziguri on Fabi. The men tag in, Oriental dominating and Gran Apache going into the crowd to avoid being dived on. Mari and Fabi dropkick him from behind and clear off the apron to start the beatdown. Cinthia takes most of it, but tricks Gran Apache into slapping both his daughters to start the comeback. The other team all goes after Gran Apache first, Ayako getting a showing match with Tirantes when he tries to back her up. Gran Apache's held up for a top rope double stomp from Cinthia. Fabi gets thrown by her hair and sits up just in time to take a dropkick to the face from Ayako. Mari Apache takes an Oriental somersault senton and an Ayako moonsault, but ducks a double clothesline to start her own comeback. Lots of hard forearms to Cinthia's face. Mari gets Cinthia in the Atlántida, Cinthia slips free for a inside cradle (maybe Mari wants to figure out how to stop that one of these days) and Gran Apache makes the save. Fabi tries to dropkick Cinthia but gets Gran Apache, and Oriental follows him to the floor with a tope. Ayako superkicks Fabi out and moonsaults her on the floor. Cinthia knocks Mari out of the ring with a jumping knee, and drops her with a plancha. Capitan's back in, Oriental plancha, German suplex blocked by back elbows, Gran Apache turns around, and Oriental northern lights suplex him for a2.6. Oriental off the ropes, kicked by Gran Apache, inverted powerslam, one two still no. Apache powerbombs Oriental and picks him up for one more - but Oriental reverses with a messy faceslam. Casita added on to make it look good, one two three.
Crowd cheers because Gran Apache lost. Ayako is limping around - she seemed to hurt her right knee on the moonsault landing.
Noti AAA
- Konnan has been kicked out of AAA in such a way that he'll continue to be
on every TV show for the rest of time.
- luchalibreaaa.com - it's RSS feeds still do not work
that's IT
Vignette: You may have trouble believe this, but Super Fly is nervous and brooding about something. Aero Star and Angel are all "what now" before telling him to call down. BUT THEY'RE GOING TO KILL HIM.
Vignette: Vipers revolution - which consists of Histeria, Abismo and Black Abyss. beating up people. I don't think even they know if Antifaz is supposed to be in this group. This is just a random collection of clips and posing and voice modification (so you don't know Black Abyss is Angel Mensajero?)
Match 3: Black Abyss (c), Histeria, Psicosis II vs Aerostar, el Ángel, Super Fly
(c)
Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas, Salamanca, 07/13/08
Winner: Air Force
Match Time: 10:44
Other Match Notes: All three tecnicos come out to the Air Force music.
Pepe Casas is ref. Arturo TAUNTS Super Fly about his imminent death before the
match. How mean!
Aerostar and Psicosis start out normal, Psicosis missing a dropkick to take him to the floor, and all chaos breaks out. Tecnicos clear the ring and starts diving - Super Fly tope (which we miss on impact) and big topes from the other two, including Aerostar driving his head into Psicosis. Both sides regroup on the outside. Aero Super Fly to go in, but Super Fly doesn't want to! So Aero star ends up sticking instead. Aero looks off with Histeria and Black Abyss at points, and then bails on doing the reverse cannonball of death, switching to the tope. Angel, and not Super Fly, comes in next. Psicosis wrestles him, and he looks off. There's a long crowd shot bit in the middle of their exchange - maybe about 30 seconds, and they pop back in time for a 619 on Black Abyss, who was still n the apron before. Super Fly actually comes in when it's his turn, doing his flashy flip run and turns to Histeria, who's still standing there. Histeria gets him to oddly turn into a Vipers dropkick, and the beatdown starts there. Rudos triple press slam Super Fly to the floor, which should be a DQ but I guess not this week. Pepe Casas is angry about it, anyway. Aero Star get a triple powerbomb and a double back suplex/dropkick combo. Histeria and Super Fly hold him up for a Psicosis senton. Back to the crowd shots. Maybe it's Angel, since he's back in again. Everyone takes turn chest slapping him. Corner clothesline, corner flying kinda clothesline by Psicosis, corner low dropkick by Histeria. Super Fly flips over a double clothesline to seemingly start the comeback, but Aerostar follows by missing on a springboard dropkick. Aero ends up getting Psicosis to throw himself out and almost slips on double springboard plancha, but still lands it. Histeria stands around a bit for angel handspring reverse tope, then stands around on the outside for an Angle plancha. Super and Abyss are back in, Super Fly's running plancha gets caught and slammed, Black Abyss goes up top, and frog splash misses. Super Fly German suplex, one two three!
Super Fly celebrates and then seems upset again. His partners are upset with him too - because he wouldn't go in early? This is unclear.
Vignette: Konnan, walking the streets and ranting about Roldan. Apparently Roldan locked the Legion in the locker room so they wouldn't be able to run in during the cage match last week.
Back to post match of the Air Force match. Aerostar and Angel seem to be upset with Super Fly for winning the match, it almost seems. Crowd screams as Jack Evans, Head Hunter I, Teddy Hart, Ayako Hamada and Kenzo Suzuki hit the ring and beat up Angel and Aerostar as Super Fly hangs back. Kenzo seems to be doing more of the delegating here, but does get in a kneedrop. Head Hunter goes all the way up, and Ayako and Kenzo are great at freaking out about Head Hunter even trying it. Angel is smashed flat, while Teddy and Jack give Aero a backbreaker/shooting star headbutt combo. (Teddy missed a little.) Super Fly - claps! HUH. Teddy gets in his double knee backbreaker as Konnan's music plays so he could join the Legion in the ring. Konnan make sure to stomp both tecnicos a few times. Super Fly and Ayako kinda argue while Konnan starts talking. Kenzo randomly dances about. Konnan barely gets taking before AAA's music plays. Prez. Roldan is out to rebutt before Konnan's even butted. Roldan says Konnan is a traitor and will never run AAA. While Konnan responds, Gran Apache, Mari Apache, Argenis, Fabi Apache, Gato Eveready, Billy Boy, Oriental, and Alan Stone "sneak" out. Crowd sure sees them, but Konnan and the Legion are looking the wrong way. Konnan feels differently about who's going to soon be running AAA. Konnan says Super Fly is the new member of Legion, while Super Fly gives us a "huh?" expression. I think he's still waiting for them to murder him. AAA guys rush the Legion guys from behind. Konnan flees quickly, as does Super Fly. Poor Aero Star and Angel are still on the mat and seem to get trampled as the brawl breaks out, with AAA winning due to numbers (Jack and Head Hunter bail quick too.) There's a train of top rope moves on Teddy Hart - Gran Apache does his senton con giro, Oriental moonsaults him, Gato Eveready splashes him, Argenis adds a top rope elbow drop. Gran Apache moves him over the ropes so Alan can add his springboard move, but Teddy too close for and Alan changes to a messy legdrop. Meanwhile, Konnan appears to be giving Super Fly a sales pitch on the outside. Crowd chanting MEXICO. Super Fly starts talking to the announcers as the action settles down, but Roldan rants to Konnan that AAA is still his. (Is Kenzo wearing a JESUS SAVES t-shirt? Fascinating.) Konnan still strongly feels he's going to take over. Super Fly is still wandering around by himself, not with the group in the ring or the Legion regrouped in the aisle. Legion tries to make another run in the ring, which causes Head Hunter to get stomped by everyone (but Kenzo sneaks around the back way to crotch Aero Star on the pole.) Crowd loudly chants for Mexico again. AAA's music starts to play to end the segment, but we've still got the issue of Super Fly. The AAA guys wave for him to join them in the ring, but he kinda thinks about it before coming back. I don't know if Aerostar or Angel are too excited about that one. Aero Star is grabbing his right shoulder and getting it checked on.
Video Package: Konnan vs Roldan
Match 4: Head Hunter I, Jack Evans, Kenzo Suzuki
(c) vs Alan Stone, El Elegido, La Parka Jr. (c)
Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas, Salamanca, 07/13/08
Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 11:02
Other Match Notes: Zorro introduces Jack Evans as his replacement. Teddy
walks out with him, doing a back flip just to do one. The Legion seems pretty
exhausted form the last segment. Elegido has in ring fireworks, which Kenzo and
Jack have no idea about until two seconds after they go off right behind them.
They both hit the deck to avoid being burned for life. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.
Parka amuses himself by goosing the other team and then joining in their huddle. Jack Evans is vehement in his anger over Parka joining their huddle and they have a spat. Jack and Alan are good together, with Jack bending in half off a backbreaker, which gets the big Televisa Deportes replay. Alan looks good against Head Hunter too. Kenzo and Elegido have a dance off, and Kenzo doing Elegido's dance is as great as you can imagine it would be. Elegido doing the crane pose and trying to dance is something too. Elegido is not so much on the wrestling, and it's odd seeing Jack be the one to direct stuff here. Kenzo holds up a Japan flag to all four sides instead of wrestling Parka, which may be for the best. Parka punches, Kenzo does shotays? Zorro gets in a cane shot form the outside to allow Hijo de Tirantes to tease a DQ (gotta get his spots in) and to start the beatdown once the referee is done getting himself over. Zorro canes Elegido on the outside, while Hijo de Tirantes teases DQ in the tecnicos for some unknown reason. Faked foul? Ah, they do it again with Alan, Kenzo fouling Alan with a stomp and faking his own to try for the DQ, but apparently that's only working for the opening match. Replay of the foul on Alan does not do it any favorite. Parka avoid a corner charge to start the comeback. Alan gets in his springboard plancha on Head Hunter to take them both out of play. Jack dropkicks Elegido in the ring while Kenzo suplexes Parka. Kenzo positions him, and Jack tells Kenzo to go up to do a top rope move on Elegido the same time he does one on Parka. This is a bad idea! Kenzo's so not sure about this idea, even as he climbs to the top rope, Knee drop misses, twisting moonsault senton misses! I'll yell you figure out who did what. Elegido forgets how to apply a casita midway thru (hahaha!) and Parka is suddenly using a hanging spinning DDT as a finish. Announcers chant for Mexico. Bad day for the Legion.
Vignette: Vampiro talks about the trios tonight, as we see clips of Cibernetico not being happy with Vampiro's return from previous weeks and Mesias ' bits about Vampiro. Chessman and Cibernetico want revenge on Mesias anyway, though they have their own issues.
Match 5: Cuervo, Mesias, Ozz vs Chessman, Cibernetico, Vampiro
Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas, Salamanca, 07/13/08
Winner: Tecnicos (via DQ)
Match Time: (11:50, overturned at 13:07)
Other Match Notes: Ozz has his hat. Vampiro immediately gets grabbed and
kissed by a female fan as soon as he steps on stage. Security comes form the
other side and rushes her off, only for someone to immediately comes from that
side and does the same thing. Vampiro gets a camera, and it actually seems to work
this week. Lots of posing with fans. Cibernetico's music now starts with him
saying his own name. In case you forget. Cibernetico tries to RUN from the fans
trying to get to him, and that doesn't work either. Piero is your
ref.
Vampiro has to held back from attacking Mesias, because we don't want people fighting in this lucha libre match. Cibernetico runs thru both Sect members. It's going to be a long match for Ozz and Cuervo, for sure. There are six people in this match, three aren't going to be selling. Chessman gets to beat up both guys quick, but Mesias jumps him from behind to start the beatdown. Lots and lots of punches. Some choking too. Mesias throws Vampiro into the crowd to get rid of him for a bit. Lots of guys being held in the corner and slowly punched down. Vamp starts the comeback, ducking under a Mesias clothesline and pump kicking him. Punches the other way. Everything is going fine until Cibernetico misses a clothesline on Mesias. He nearly hits Vampiro, but stops short. Unfortunately, Mesias shoves Chessman into Cibernetico and all the tecnicos end up being upset with each other. Rudos use their argument to take back control again. Chessman makes a comeback after a missed Mesias corner charge (they try to hide in with camera switches, must've been bad), and Cibernetico pulls Chessman off punching Mesias so he can punch himself. Vampiro tries to mediate, but gets shoved away. Cibernetico keeps cutting off Mesias from getting involved, and both Hell Brothers keep pushing down Vampiro for getting involved. Chessman seems to reconsider and help Vampiro up, but the Sect is all over them by then. Back to the rudo beatdown. Vampiro gets another comeback quickly after, going thru all the rudos. Vampiro tries to powerbomb Mesias, but Cuervo makes the save. Cuervo and Ozz grab Vampiro, but Chessman and Cibernetico spear them. Cibernetico grabs Mesias for a chokeslam, but Chessman breaks the hold! Chessman whips Mesias and goes for the spear, but Cibernetico trips him! Neither of these guys are coming off likeable. As they argue, Vampiro (rightly) yells at both of them for being morons, and ends up taking a double headbutt. Ozz and Cuervo dropkick out the Hell Brothers. Crowd is quieter and quieter during this. Cuervo brings in chairs and Vampiro is pounded with lots of shots. Cibernetico and Chessman are standing on the outside, but too busy arguing to help Vampiro. Vampiro takes Mesias' finish just as they cut away (oops), and that' the match.
Cibernetico storms off and Vamp gets beat more. Chessman tracks him down so they can argue more. Vamp gets the death Super Fly thinks he's about to get in the ring - wait, Piero just called it an excessive violence DQ? It was, but it's so on after the finish, I didn't realize that was still possible. Sect seem unaware or uncaring, and just go back to beating him. It's not like they've to anything to lose now.
That's it.
